"You should wear a shirt that reads "I love Camembert" Plagg told Adrien as he got dressed in the mirror. "You love Camembert, Plagg. Besides, I'm going to Kitty Section practice." he adjusted his red beanie in the mirror.
"Ooh, will Marinette be there?" Adrien's cheeks reddened. "Maybe later on. I asked Luka to help me with harmonizing," he said.
When Adrien arrived at the Liberty, Luka had set everything up and was strumming his guitar. "Adrien, you made it!" Luka stood up. "Your a little early for band practice though." "Yeah, I need help harmonizing at the part…" Luka smiled as Adrien studied his sheet music.
"How's your harmonizing with Marinette going?" Luka asked, well aware that the two friends liked each other, though shy to show it. "What?" Adrien's head snapped up.
"Do you notice when she's extra happy or sad, or does she confide in you?" Luka asked. Adrien had to think about that. Sure, when he wore his black mask, Marinette told her Kitty everything, but as Adrien….. "Guess that could use some work."
"You can start your practice now, cause here comes Marinette," Luka pointed to Marinette headed up the path.
"Hi!" Marinette came aboard, holding a cardboard box. She sounds tired, Adrien thought. "I needed to get some fresh air, so I came early," Marinette explained. "I'll put these down below, and be right back."
Adrien followed her. "You sound tired, Marinette. Are you okay?" Adrien asked, once they were alone. Marinette looked up at him, her eyes serious. "Actually, Adrien, I could use a friend right now."
Adrien listened patiently, giving advice when needed. After all, Marinette would the same for him, even if she stumbled on her words from time to time. "Sounds like you need a hug," he said, pulling her close. Marinette froze for a second, then snuggled into Adrien. "I thought Kitty was the only one who listened these days," Marinette said softly, head still on his shoulder. "You don't know how good a friend you are, Adrien."
"Your amazing, Marinette. If you need someone to talk to, I'm here. I hope…" His voice grew soft. "I hope one day we can be in perfect harmony, knowing how to comfort the other." He looked down, realizing he had taken both of his hands.
Unknown to them, they did have a near perfect harmony with their masks on, reading each other's thoughts. But it was nice to know without the masks, for they were just Adrien and Marinette most of the time.
Adrien smiled at Marinette as practice was underway. His life may be tospy-turvy, but Marinette always knew how to balance things out.
