I did it again. I decided to revisit an idea I didn't think I would and now it's got a second part. How fun right? I'll eventually come back and fix it up properly.

For now, enjoy this new messy and likely typo filled piece!

This was absolutely humiliating, the great Suzuki Sonoko, forcibly having to hop up and down, stand on her tippy toes, and try to even reach the doorbell which, now that she thinks about it, why is it so high up? What if children, such as herself, are in great danger and need help or some sort of safe haven from dangers, such as what she needs now? This detective geek better be home or else she's giving him a piece of her mind!

Great… Of course… he wasn't home. Then again, what was she expecting? She did send Shinichi-kun off to take care of Ran, so she bet he's doing something lovey-dovey over with her. Hopefully. That's the only time she'll give him this excuse for not being here to aid her. But now what? It's still raining, she's soaking wet, and really wants to stop shivering cause it's literally the autumn season and all she's got is her oversized-cold shirt, the other clothes laying down on the street, and the now walking hazard flip-flops.

Booom! She startles and nearly slips off her slippers. What just happened? Don't tell her there was a bomb or something? Wait, that's Shinichi's neighbor, Professor Hiroshi Agasa-san. Oh gosh, was that smoke? Was the old guy okay? Was there a fire? She'd definitely call the fire department if her phone hadn't been taken away by those guys in black. THEY OWE HER BIG TIME!

She takes a breath, "Stop Sonoko, your vengeance can wait. Go check on Kudo-kun's neighbor first."

Fortunately, the odd inventor was just coughing up a storm and audibly complaining about another failed invention. Oh, right, Kudo-kun did mention that this was a normal occurrence. His neighbor often woke him up with the weirdest things that often exploded. Well, at least she had a way in now. All she needed to do was go talk to the professor, convince him to get her inside, get a change of clothes, and wait for Shinichi to come back.

So she does, "Hey, Hakase."

The inventor looked at her oddly, "Huh? Little Girl, who are you?"

"I'm-" She stopped herself, thinking for a moment. Would the professor even believe her story? Would he believe that she's Suzuki Sonoko, teenage heiress shrunk by a weird drug that was meant to make her kick the bucket? There honestly would be no way to prove it, unless he had some invention that could identify her fingerprints or DNA. But the man's an eccentric inventor, and that kind of technology would probably be reserved for people working in the police force and government. He isn't a chemist or forensic scientist either, so asking him for help with the strange drug in her system was out of the question too. Now that she thinks about it, if Shinichi were shrunk, she bet he'd do something like a deduction show to prove that he's still himself to the man. She's not that clever enough, plus, she didn't know him as well, just the things Kudo shared about the old professor. So instead, she decides to say,

"I'm waiting for, Shinichi-oniichan," ick, she can't believe she's saying that. But she continued, "My parents sent me over since he agreed to watch me. He promised to help me with something important too." There was no such deal or promise, but she needed to be smart about getting inside. "But he's not home, and I've been waiting in the rain. It's suh-soooo cuh-cooold and I'm freezzzzing!" That last part was genuine, her teeth were beginning to chatter as she clutched the clothes she carried.

"Oh no, I'm sorry little girl. Shinichi-kun is off on a date with his friend. If you'd like, you can wait with me until he returns."

She nods gratefully, feeling less of a need to talk. The professor was so kind to her, offering her the bath to warm up and the washer/dryer to get her clothes all cleaned. It was definitely nice to not feel like her body was fighting the bitter cold. He also somehow had a pair of Shinichi's clothes stored away from when he was eight, surprisingly they fit her well. It wasn't anything too fancy, just sleeping clothes; some grey shorts and a T-shirt with a K on it, likely standing for Kudo. The nice warm blanket and a cup of hot cocoa were an added bonus.

"Ahhh, thank you. I don't know how much longer I could have lasted out there in the freezing rain."

"I'm glad to help. But… Little girl, who are you? I never got your name."

She smiles cheekily and childishly answers, "That's a secret. Only Shinichi-ku-I mean, niichan can only know."

The professor is puzzled, but decidedly drops the conversation. He really did want to pry, especially since he saw the shirt and other clothing were much too big for her, but knew better since he had a feeling she was going to be stubborn about it. Whatever she wanted to tell Shinichi, he'd find out along with him.

She's thankful the professor isn't as nosy as the detective. Honestly, Kudo-kun should learn a thing or two from him. Not everything had to be a mystery that needed to be chased, followed, or run after or even into. Her life right now is a prime example of why some mysteries shouldn't be chased by amateurs. Well, the danger has passed and the blanket was really comfy, and the hot chocolate was just so warming.

The mild taps and shakes are what rouse her from her trance. Wait, did she fall asleep? When? She must have really needed a power nap. After all, she had used so much energy with trying to explain herself, run away, and reach far too high places. Oh, was the professor saying something?

"Shinichi just got home. I called him and he's on his way now."

"Oh good," she yawned a little, "what time is it?"

"Almost midnight."

What made him so late? Was it Ran or was it a case? Either way, she's finally glad to get his help.

"Professor?" Finally, Shinichi-kun!

"Come in, my boy. There's someone who's been waiting for you this whole time. Said you're suppose to be watching over her?"

"Hah? What are you talking about?"

The detective geek was of course lost about this. Who wouldn't be? Especially when he didn't know. Well, maybe she'd play with him, just a little. "Hey, mystery otaku! I've been waiting for you for forever!"

Shinichi blinked, staring at the little girl. His body stilled as his eyes scanned her, mind working hard to figure out who she was. When he finally moved, motions in a thinking pose, he finally asked, "Who are you?"

She gave a look, that said, "Really?" He only nods, still not sure who she is. She immediately grins playfully, "Ahh, to think, "The Great Heisei Holmes," the prodigious, "Detective of The East," can't even figure out this mystery! Some detective geek you are, Kudo-kun."

His eyes widened, the gears were definitely turning, "No, it can't be… Those features... You look so much like her… Though I don't recall her having a little…" Shinichi kept muttering to himself, saying things as if she weren't in the room. Though, she didn't mind. It was fun to mess around with him like this. But then she looks down at her small hands, her whole body that was being eaten up by the blanket that should have only covered about half of it. Maybe it wasn't time to play games right now. She really wants help, and he's her best option.

"Shinichi-kun," her serious tone caught both professor's and his attention, "this is all your fault."

"Eh? My fault?"

"If you hadn't decided to nearly ditch Ran for those men in black, I wouldn't be in this situation."

"Men in black…? The little girl kidnapping case with Kogoro-ojiisan?" Wait what? Since when did Shinichi help out Ran-chan's dad? "No, wait. The Rollercoaster. The guy running into the woods. You're?!"

"Yep, not a little sister. It's actually me." She smiles, but with less confidence.

"SONOKO!? But… How?! It's not possible-"

"Should I throw that Sherlock quote you like repeating to us so much back in your face? When you eliminate the impossible?"

"Whatever remains…"

"However improbable... "

"Must be the truth...

"Yep! I'm shrunk, I'm tired, our stuff got stolen, and, IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!"

This was going to be a very long night for the trio who now have a bigger mystery on their hands, and the girl who's deep within it.

The shrunken Suzuki's adventure has continued onward and we witness the meeting with Agasa-Hakase. Now she isn't Shinichi and isn't as close to the inventor as he is, so a different approach was needed. She seemed like the type who would be able to adapt and improvise on the fly, so this is her excuse to how she needs to get in. For her clothes, since she can't get into the mansion, instead the professor has something in storage from when Shinichi was a child. Imagining that at one point, his parents asked him to keep a pair of clothes there since he liked staying over at the inventor's place..

Don't know if I'll revisit this idea or not with another chapter, but hope you enjoyed. If you'd like, let me know what you think. Thanks for reading and see you on another idea soon!
