Jackie was really annoyed at this point. "I should have known you wouldn't be too far behind."

"What is wrong with you? Why do you think it's okay to treat anyone this way? I know you hate me and I lose no sleep over that but Jayne did absolutely nothing to you." Holly was tired of the way Jackie spoke to Jayne.

"She's trying to get her claws into Chase and I won't stand for that. My son deserves better!" Jackie was fuming, who did Holly think she was.

"She has done no such thing. She has been a friend to him." Holly looked at Jayne.

"Oh really? Do friends hold hands at Kelly's when he is supposed to be meeting Brook Lynn? Sounds a little too friendly to me." Jackie looked at Jayne waiting for her response.

Jayne shook her head, what genuinely was just a moment of friendship in her mind was seen as something else. "He was asking me how things were going. You know things have been hectic lately, you should be proud that your son is a good friend." Jayne was also confused about how Jackie even saw that. According the Chase she got back in town after that.

"I used to catch your parents doing the same thing. Robert holding her hand, telling Holly it would be okay. All the while Holly was planning to seduce him. Clearly her plan worked or you wouldn't be here." Jackie folded her arms.

"Let me get this straight, Robert holding my hand 41 years ago is making you worry about Jayne and Chase? Do you realize how crazy you sound?" Holly asked, her mind was really blown by this.

"It's making me protective, especially with his wedding coming up." Jackie looked at Jayne. "Stay away from him, now I have work to do." Jackie opened her door to let the two of them out.

Holly and Jayne left her office, they both realized this was really going nowhere. They went out to their cars.

"You know I hate to give her her way, but I don't want to make things hard on Chase." Jayne had a hint of sadness in her voice.

Holly put her arm around her. "Oh darling, you are way too much like me."

"What do you mean?" Jayne asked her.

"Do you know how many times I made the wrong choices thinking it would make your father happy? All I did was lose time with him. Time I wish more than anything I could get back. I know it's different. You aren't perusing anything with Chase, but don't let that woman end such a beautiful friendship." Holly told her daughter. She hoped some of this sunk in.

"I guess I do have a lot of you in me, all I want is for Chase to be happy. He has really been such a good friend to me." Jayne told her mom as Chase walked up.

"Sorry to interrupt. I take it you both are here to see my mother too." Chase said as he looked at Holly. "I'm sorry she keeps doing this. I never realized how hung up on Robert she is."

Holly smiled and shook her head. "You have nothing to apologize for, and thank you for coming to say something, but I think Jayne and I gave her something to think about."

"Good, hopefully she does. I love her but some of her choices... I just don't know about." Chase could see that Jayne looked upset. "Hey, are you okay?"

Jayne nodded. "Oh yes, my mum and I were just having a heart to heart."

"And I interrupted. I just have the best timing." Chase shook his head.

"You have a good excuse, that wedding has to really be on your mind." Jayne replied, she didn't want Chase to think he was bothering them.

"It would be, but there isn't going to be a wedding." Chase told both of them.
