The dinner they had to celebrate Father's Day went fabulous. Robert, Ethan, Patrick, and Duke were all celebrated. When the house started to clear out Robert was sitting at the table enjoying a piece of cake.

"It was fun, wasn't it?" Holly asked Robert as she sat down next to him.

"You make it fun. You always have." Robert offered her a bite, which she happily accepted.

"Mum, dad. I wanted to talk to you about JJ." Jayne took a seat.

"What about him?" Holly asked.

"About our relationship or what was." Jayne replied.

"Go ahead." Holly took another bite of Robert's cake.

"The two of us had a fling." Jayne put bluntly, which caught Robert off guard.

Robert spit his drink out.

"Darling." Holly knew Robert was okay, just surprised. She placed her hand on Robert and looked at Jayne. "You owe us no explanation."

"I know, but I just wanted to let you all know, we meant a great deal to each other, but I just wasn't sure who I was or what I wanted. I ended it." Jayne told her parents.

"That was very grown up of you, I know it had to be hard." Holly said.

Ethan walked over to Robert. "Grandpa, care to spend this Father's Day evening helping me put your granddaughter to bed?" Robert asked.

"Just try to stop me." Robert gave Holly a kiss on the cheek, then stood up, happy to get to help with Seana.

"I didn't mean to make dad uncomfortable." Jayne told Holly after Robert walked away.

"Oh, don't worry about that. I love how open you are with me." Holly told Jayne. "Do you still have feelings for JJ?"

Jayne nodded. "But I really care about Chase, I know nothing can happen there, but I also don't want to hurt JJ by getting involved with him again when my heart is not fully in it."

Holly was amazed at how much Jayne reminded her of herself. "You know I get that. You remind me so much of myself when I was younger. You'll have to go with your heart, slowly try to figure things out."

Jayne gave Holly a hug. "Thank you, mum. I just really don't want anyone hurt. JJ may not even have feelings for me anymore."

Holly knew there was something, but she wasn't going to get into that. "Just be a friend, everything will work out how it's supposed to, and whoever gets your heart is going to be one lucky man."
