Holly knew where Robert was coming from. She wanted them to pay, but she also worried that if Jayne had some loyalty to them, it would put her in a bad position. "What happened?"
"Alistair took every chance to ruin her happiness. Kept her under his thumb." Robert was hurt, and it showed in his eyes. What he would give to go back and protect his daughter. He would give any and everything.
Holly went to him and hugged him. "And look at the amazing man she calls a father now. He can't hurt her anymore."
Robert held onto Holly. He was emotional and couldn't hide it. "I just want to go back, stay with you and our children."
Holly's heart sunk. She knew he had gone to take care of Robin. She knew he thought he was keeping her safe, too. "Robert, one of your closest friends had just been revealed to be in the mob. You were doing the very best you could to protect Robin and me. You did nothing wrong."
Robert held her close to him. He knew she was right. She usually was. "I really thought you were safe. Nothing mattered more to me than you and Robin."
"You don't have to tell me that, I know I was upset then, but some of that actually was hormones. The rest was just not wanting to be away from you. I'm not mad, and I can tell you Ethan and Jayne aren't either. They adore their father." Holly told Robert.
Robert looked into Holly's eyes. She was truly the best thing that had ever happened to him. She refused to let him fall apart. "What did I ever do without you?"
Holly wiped his eyes and smiled at him. "Missed me terribly."
"You have no idea how true that is." Robert told her.
"Actually, I do. Remember, I had to do it all without you, too." Holly placed her hand on his heart.
"Not anymore. Once we get all this with the DVX sorted, I do want to make the family pay. Not Barry, he was there for Jayne. She loves him. But Alistair in particular." Robert told Holly, he really had no bad feelings towards Barry.
"Barry is the only one that is still family to me, but before we do anything, you should talk to Jayne. She may feel loyalty to them, and I don't want her to get hurt." Holly told Robert.
Robert nodded. He hadn't given that a lot of thought, but he knew Holly was right. After all, she had her moments where she had felt really loyal to them. "I will. I want to make sure she knows her feelings matter."
"Exactly, but I too would love to see Alistair pay for his part in all this." Holly replied. She felt sick when she thought o the fact he was being the father to their daughter the whole time they were guilting her into working or the family.
"I think this calls for another night of holding each other." Robert told Holly, he knew it would mean another skipped sauna, but he just wanted to lay in bed and hold his wife.
"I think that sounds lovely." She gave him a kiss.
