Phillips smiled, "That's good news, and I'm glad to hear that things are coming wonderfully for once...And now, you're lucky that I didn't react in front of the Foreign Secretary as I'm still in shock to see you...You ain't definitely the runt I remember back in camp. Erskine really kept his promise, eh?".

"He did...", Steve had to act a bit melancholy for the idea that Erskine didn't make it. "And from the reports I've read, you've certainly proven to be the worth of a whole platoon of men with some of the things you're able to do...", Phillips said.

Steve nodded, "Yes, sir. This shield was his last gift...It's durable and able to last a war, and I'm not indestructible, but I heal pretty good compared to other soldiers. I cannot stop this war alone, that's for sure, and I'm very grateful that I have you on my side, sir. I'd need to start small, to see what I can do as far as being worthy of a whole platoon, if you intend for me to be subtle and stealthy as much as I could be, apart from shooting Nazis and using my abilities to technically show off a bit, sir.".

"I'm sure we'll figure out where you can do the most damage; as of the time being, we're mostly limited to raiding actions. At least the good news is that England's no longer under any real invasion threat with more and more American troops landing.", Phillips said.

"But I doubt they're simply going to just stay here; obviously we need your countrymen to take the fight to the Nazis... somewhere...", Peggy told him.

"And probably in a hurry too; there's some grumbling from some folks back home wondering why we seem to be splitting our forces between the two oceans; we're getting plenty of battle amongst the Japanese, especially on that island in the south Pacific... Guadalcanal, I think they call it... but aside from some of our navy, the Germans and Italians seem like there's nothing going on between us.", Steve explained.

"I know. I'm sure Washington's coming up with something to make sure that the public doesn't demand to abandon Europe for the time being... our boys won't be here long...", Phillips assured them. Of course, none of them were aware that Churchill and Roosevelt were in early planning stages for significant combat action involving US troops on the Atlantic side of the globe; their target being opening up a second front of not Europe to aid the Russians, but rather landing somewhere in North Africa to aid the Commonwealth in Egypt.

The recent raid in Dieppe that was carried out by mostly Canadian troops had proven to be a disaster and showed trying to open a second front in Europe, more specifically France, so soon would be doomed to catastrophe. Bucky himself and 49 other Rangers fought alongside British commandos during the raid and while their tasks went more to plan; it showed the Allies that a cross channel invasion was going to take a lot more time, effort and planning to not only successfully land, but to breakout and liberate vast swaths of territory from Nazi occupation.

Peggy nodded as Steve replied, "Don't worry, Colonel, with everything we've got, this war will end. For good or bad, I don't know, but it will end. I'm just sad that so many people have been lost, and hopefully, on the day the war ends, they will rest in peace; our boys, the other Allied soldiers, the families that has been caught in the crossfire, and even the people who has been manipulated unknowingly by the Nazis and all.".

"Here's hoping...", Phillips said. The rest of the trip went fairly well before they arrived at the base; it didn't look really anything out of the ordinary, certainly appearing as a normal base. Of course, what was in it was a little different as it was SSR's main base in Europe though still gave off the vibe that it was some sort of random division that was stationed there.

Which is good for them all as they are careful, even if Britain is patrolled constantly, and no Nazis would get into Britain that easy.

Phillips thanked their escort of the armed British troops, and led the couple below the base, where most SSR people worked, but since it's past dark, they are mostly sleeping in their assigned barracks or apartments, with a few working the late shift, and after Phillips took them into his office, lowering the blinds, locking the door, and with the lights on, he sat at his desk, looking at the couple.

"First of all, congratulations on getting hitched.", Phillips smiled wryly as Peggy blushed softly while Steve chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck, "Thanks, Colonel. We've been through a lot, and well, you could say that one of the reasons I'm fighting in this war is for us to have our dreams coming true together...".

Phillips nodded, "I can relate to that fairly enough, Captain Rogers. Secondly, the best I can do is only two days upon this night's end, and I hope that's enough for your plans, Captain Rogers.".

Steve smiled warmly, "Oh, I am sure it is, Colonel. And have you contacted them?", and Phillips smiled, "Yep. They're arriving in the late morning.".

Peggy looked between them, raising an eyebrow, "Steve?", and Steve bashfully smiled, "I might've called your parents via radio back in Preston's mansion some time back, with a bit of help by the Colonel here, and they're coming tomorrow to surprise you..Not that you don't like surprises, which I know, but I still remember that you appreciated being somewhat forewarned as you are jumpy if you weren't forewarned, and tend to be on the defensive, thanks to being an agent and all...Sorry that I kept it from you...are you mad?".

She shook her head. "No, not at all... but um... did you tell them?", Peggy asked as Steve smiled. "No, I'd rather you tell them the truth of what happened between us.", he chuckled as she blushed.

"Jeez, give me little time to think of how exactly I'm going to say all this to them...", Peggy commented. Steve squeezed her hand, "You'll do fine. After all, you're quick on your feet.", and Peggy smiled, "You're just saying that because I'm your wife.".

"It's true.", Steve chuckled, and Peggy squeezed his hand back happily, wanting to jump her husband and thank him beyond belief, but she knew that she's in the office of a highly honorable colonel that she deeply respects, and then glances back at Phillips, nodding softly with a warm smile, "Thank you, Colonel.".

"You're welcome. Now the two of you enjoy the rest of your night together; I've got some things I need to handle. Just keep alert that we're under strict rules around here since we're within bombing range of the Luftwaffe in case they decide to make a midnight raid... let's not give them an easy target after all...", Phillips nodded.

Steve nodded, "Yes, sir.", and Peggy replied, "Of course, sir. We wish you to have a good evening.", and Phillips smiled before replying, "Dismissed.".

The couple left his office after saluting him, and headed up from below the base, with Peggy leading the way as they strolled on about a quarter of a mile, to Peggy's apartment which is almost poised like a small house, but not having a yard or such as the road they're on is part of the base, used for traffic for army cars, marches and such.

Plucking a small, realistic houseplant up and out of a pot outside of the door, Peggy pulled out a key from inside the pot, "People always assume that the doormat is a hiding spot.", with a smirk.

"Nice little place you have here... not exactly one for truly being in the heart of the city, huh?", Steve chuckled as Peggy went up to the door with her key.

Peggy replied, "Not exactly a home for me as it's on the base and all, but it's nice enough to live in when needed, though I have a feeling that I'd be busy, so probably might fall asleep on a cot in a pop-up office often.", as she opened the door, and they came in, with closing the door, clicking on just one light as Steve put down all the luggage including his shield.

Steve replied, "Well, I'd want you to be fresh and such, so can you promise to come here often when you can, for me while I'm on missions and such?", as he watched her check the windows, closing the drapes over all the windows, latching the windows in the small living room/kitchen.

Peggy looked back at Steve, "I can promise that.", with a reassuring smile before nodding, "Okay, that's all the windows locked and darkened out, come on. Let's keep onwards.", switching the hallway light on while turning off the lampshade in the living room.

Steve followed his wife as she did the same to a small bathroom and the phone table window, and she turned off the hallway light while turning the light on in the small bedroom which is miraculously fitting a queen-sized bed and a dresser, but nothing else, as she went to check the two small windows, doing the same, and then exhaled in relief as she clicked the lamp on the dresser, nodding at Steve, "Turn off the switch.".

Steve turned off the switch to the ceiling bedroom light, and now the apartment is all darkened out, with only the lamp on, as he replied, "Wow, you really are through, Peggy...This must be scary for all of London and all...".

Peggy sighed, "Hopefully, the curfew and everything will be gone when this damn war ends...I have done this so much, that I can do it in my sleep, though I think Phillips would lecture me if I was doing it in my sleep as it seemed like a bragging thing.", with a nod before looking at Steve, "I definitely want to take you out to a bar later tonight, but right now, I damn want to jump you to thank you for what you did...".

"Probably a good idea for us to keep it down though...", Steve chuckled as she rolled her eyes, "Yeah, I know, don't worry, I think we both know how to make sure of that... wouldn't want the constable to be knocking on the door for us being too loud.".

Steve chuckled fondly before taking off his uniform swiftly, as Peggy watched him, chewing her lip in anticipation of seeing him again in his glory, and he smiled, "Sheesh, you really are wanting me so bad, even if you already saw me like this from this morning back home.".

"What can I say? Seeing you with clothes on or off, I feel like I'm coming home...", Peggy blushed wildly as she was working on taking her clothes off, and Steve replied, "Oh, Peggy, that's what I feel too...", as he helped her remove her last articles, "I love you to the moon and back.", caressing her ass and side.

Peggy whispered, "I love you too, Steve...", before pushing him into the bed, kissing him passionately as he picked her up with her pouncing into him, and groans of pleasure coming from Steve as she straddled him, rocking back and forth as she gasped between whimpers and moans of pleasure, "You are at my mercy, my apartment, my bed...Say it...Say that you want to be mine.", as she can feel Steve's rod waking up furiously inside her, thanks to her passionate and rough actions.

"Do I really have to say it?", Steve asked. "You know that answer every second of every day...", he said as she smiled, "True... but it is always a nice reminder... especially going to be needed when we have to part ways...".

Steve smiled tenderly and lovingly as he caressed her cheek, his wedding ring glistening in the lamplight, "I will always be yours, and right now, I want to be yours forever...".

Peggy smiled, sighing happily, "Good man.". as she leaned her cheek into his hand, and kissed his fingers, especially his wedding finger, and she then went to ravish her husband as she rode him.

Steve was glad to let her take the reins this one round as she seemed to need it so badly, and was all too happy to watch her, admiring her beautiful body, and enjoyed all the pleasures she gave him.

After she finally got satisfied upon an hour of lovemaking, she was still eager to show Steve her favorite bar near the base, and so, after unpacking some of the luggage, Steve and Peggy is wearing stylish bar clothes, with an army touch to them, of course.

The couple, upon locking the apartment, went to the bar, where they danced, played darts, and drank. To Peggy's amusement yet annoyance, Steve didn't even get drunk, yet the buzz of two whiskey bottles is quite helping him to focus on Peggy who got somewhat tipsy from her own two martinis yet still holding up, for his sex drive somehow got amped by the buzz of alcohol in a way, headed back to Peggy's apartment where Steve took up the reins this second and final round for the night, and Peggy was in bliss for somehow Steve wasn't sloppy like many drunken men or even over buzzed up men, and made it absolutely intense in a way where she was cursing clearly yet a bit drunken.

All of that, plus some jet lag they received, along with the time difference to their bodies, had exhausted them out, where they practically fell asleep after they came again, not even bothering to use the bathroom.

They honestly forgot about the surprise arrival of Peggy's parents as they literally overslept in each other's arms, and were deaf to the knocking by Peggy's father, Harrison.

"Hmm, I swore that the colonel said that Peggy's sure to be home.", Harrison replied. Amanda Carter smiled at her husband, "Best to get the key out. Must be the jet lag and the time difference...We'll wait as I can whip up some coffee. I know she loves tea, but coffee is a surefire way to wake her up.".

Harrison nodded, and grabbed the key from the plant pot, unlocking it and coming in, as Amanda blinked in surprise, "Peggy isn't usually having more than two bags of luggage.", as Harrison noted the peculiar shield. "Maybe she's collected a few more things; perhaps she got a few things while in America.", Harrison guessed.

"No, this isn't simply just some extra things... oh, well, she can tell us when she wakes up.", Amanda said. "Yeah; probably let her sleep in a bit more, she's probably really tired from all that flying...", Harrison chuckled.

Amanda nodded, and goes to work the coffee machine, grabbing the decaf coffee beans, and also tea bags as well. She hummed as she filled a couple of cups for herself and Harrison, and they went to the small table that served as a breakfast/dining table, with Harrison opening up and reading the newspaper he brought earlier from one of the newsstands on the way here as Amanda opened the drapes on the window above the table, stirring their tea and sipping occasionally.

Soon, the smell of the coffee machine is in the air, and Peggy yawned sleepily, getting up and out of bed, grabbing her robe with a small sleepy smile at the nude body of her husband half revealed in the sheets, and walked out of the bedroom, sleepily making a note to take a hot shower as she can feel the familiar ache in her lower body, and didn't notice her parents as she was sleepily focused on getting her coffee.

Harrison and Amanda looked up, and Harrison narrowed his eyes as he saw the glistening wedding ring, and the state of his daughter as she reached for her cup and another cup, as Amanda looked at her, realizing that her daughter has been doing this for a while as Peggy didn't seem like she's in pain, like if it was her first time.

Peggy sipped at her cup sleepily, and sighed with a small smile as it was just right, easing that ebbing headache away, and she went to fill her husband's cup with a well-practiced air, using a spoon of sugar into his coffee, and she called out, "Coffee's ready, Steve! Come and get it while it's hot!".

Harrison and Amanda heard a man's voice, "Heard you, Peggy...Five minutes...", with a sleepy groan, and Peggy smiled contentedly, chuckling as she sipped at her coffee, turning around before finally noticing her parents, and she yelped out loud in surprise, nearly spit-taking, and heard Steve's voice, "Peggy? Are you okay?".

"Y-yeah! Just drank too fast, that's all! Don't rush, luv, take your time in the bathroom, okay?", Peggy called out, and Steve replied, "Yea, sure. I'll make sure to leave some hot water for ya, Peg. Who knew my own wife is quite adept at cursing while being tipsy and making love at the same time?", with a wry, slightly sleepy chuckle.

Peggy called back, "Appreciate that. Let's say that I am full of surprises.", blushing in embarrassment, hearing the faint sound of the bathroom door opening and closing, as she was in a staring competition with her parents, realizing at last that this is what many of the girls in her hometown felt as she and only a couple of other girls had gone to boarding school thanks to family connections and money finances, but the others didn't.
