Chapter Two: Fuli's New Responsibility
In the cozy confines of the Lion Guard's lair, Rafiki carefully wrapped Bunga's injured ankle with a makeshift cast made from leaves, sticks, and vines. The wise old mandrill finished his work and stepped back to admire his handiwork.
Rafiki: "Now, Bunga. You have to stay off of that foot for about a week or two. That means no going on patrol." He began, his tone serious.
Bunga: "What, two weeks?! Without patrolling?! That is so not Unbungalievable!" His eyes widened in disbelief.
Kion: "This is for your own good, Bunga. You need to let your ankle heal." He stepped forward, placing a reassuring paw on Bunga's shoulder.
Ono: "Don't worry, Bunga, two weeks will go by fast, just like that." He fluttered down, trying to lift Bunga's spirits.
Beshte: "Then you'll be back on your feet in no time." He nodded in agreement, offering his own encouragement.
Bunga: *sighs* "Okay, but what if I need something? I clearly can't move." He sighed, accepting his fate.
The Lion Guard exchanged glances, realizing the dilemma they faced. Someone would need to stay behind to keep an eye on Bunga while the others continued their duties. Without a word, they all played the "not it" game.
Kion, Fuli, Ono, and Beshte: "Not it!" They all exclaimed in unison. But Fuli was just a beat too late.
Fuli: "Ugh, why me?!" She groaned in frustration.
Kion: "Hehe, I guess you have to watch Bunga, Fuli." He couldn't help but chuckle.
Fuli: "But Kion, I know how to babysit Bongo. You have no idea what it's like taking care of Bunga." She protested, a hint of desperation in her voice.
Kion: "I'm sure you'll do just fine, Fuli." He smiled reassuringly.
Fuli: *sighs heavily* "Alright, I'll watch Bunga." She sighed and reluctantly agreed.
Kion: "Alright, Ono and Beshte, let's get back to patrolling." He nodded, satisfied with the arrangement.
Ono and Beshte both nodded in agreement and followed Kion out of the lair, leaving Fuli alone with her new responsibility.
Fuli: "Alright, Bunga, just stay out of trouble, and everything will work out. Got it?" She turned to Bunga, her expression firm.
Bunga: "Sure, I can't go anywhere, remember?" He grinned mischievously.
Fuli: "Ugh, Bunga." She rolled her eyes, already sensing the challenges ahead.
As Fuli braced herself for the task of watching over Bunga, she couldn't shake the feeing that this was going to be a long couple of weeks.
