UA Faculty Meeting Room (Day)
All Might didn't know why he and the other teachers were called to a meeting, but he had a feeling it wasn't good. With Stain in custody, the public was at peace. But the reappearance of Nomus in Hosu meant that whoever was behind the attack on the USJ was back. He was told to come to the meeting digitally, using a computer instead of being there physically. To his, and everyone else's surprise, Dominic was present as well.
'Guess this is why I was told to stay out of it.' the top hero thought to himself, discreetly entering his Hero Form.
"Hello, everyone. I hope you had a good morning, because what I'm about to say will definitely ruin the rest of your day." the boy said, holding a holographic projector in his hand. It was a similar model to what the school used to give their acceptance speeches. Pressing a button, he pulled up several pictures of Petrified Darkness. "This is Petrified Darkness, a substance that could be described as evil given form. Anyone or anything influence by it will become mindlessly destructive, regardless of whether you're a hero or villain." He turned to the computer on the table. "Even you, All Might, could potentially be turned against us if it got in your system."
"During his internship, Xiao-Long and Asui Tsuyu fought against a villain who was corrupted by Petrified Darkness." Nezu explained. "That means whoever is responsible for its appearance may be on the rise again."
"Whoever is behind this? You're saying this stuff was made by a villain?" Vlad King asked.
"I never told you how I came to Musutafu, did I?" Dominic asked rhetorically. "I was in combat with a powerful villain with a multitude of powers, one of which allowed it to create Petrified Darkness. He used a Portal Quirk and next thing I knew, I was in a hospital in this city. I hoped it wouldn't follow me, but I guess I was wrong." He turned to his homeroom teacher. "And for the record, Mr. Aizawa, this was in self-defense."
"Since this was before you were arrested for vigilantism, I can't really do anything more than telling you to stop until you get a Hero License." the man said with a sigh.
"If you don't mind, Young Xiao-Long, could you please tell us the name of this villain?" All Might asked, hoping it wasn't who he and Tsukauchi thought it was.
"Sure." the boy said. "Its name is The Darkness."
"Heh. Dumb name." Present Mic said.
"Dumb as it may be, it's fitting." Dominic said, keeping the fact that the Element was named after The Darkness and not vice versa to himself. "The Darkness is the living embodiment of evil, seeking to devour all the light in the world. It won't rest until there isn't a living thing left on the planet." There was a lot he was omitting, but what he said was enough of the truth. "I once witnessed it obliterate an entire village without putting in any effort."
All Might didn't know if he should've been relieved or terrified. On one hand, this sounded nothing like All For One. On the other, this 'Darkness' sounded potentially worse than his nemesis. If his student wasn't lying, all of UA could be wiped out with a single attack.
"I've given Nezu all the information I have about The Darkness. You can work things out from there." Dominic said, walking towards the door. Once he was on the other side, he closed it and looked out the window. "Where are you?" he asked, wanting to keep this world safe.
Field Gamma (Day)
After speaking with the teachers about the threat The Darkness posed, Dominic joined All Might and the two of them walked toward the testing site, where the other students were waiting.
"I am here to teach you all again!" the man said to the class. "Today will be hero basic training! It feels like I haven't seen you all in a while! Now then, we'll be doing a little race today. Take everything you've learned from your internships and apply them here."
"If we're doing rescue training, shouldn't we be at the USJ?" Iida asked.
"That place is still standing?" Dominic said, surprised. He'd assumed it was destroyed after his last battle there. Large buildings usually exploded after he had fights near them. Beacon Academy was a prime example of this.
"That facility specializes in natural disasters and post-villain destruction. As I said before, this is a race." All Might clarified. "Behind me is Field Gamma, a testing site made to replicate a labyrinth of factories. Good luck finding your way around. You'll be competing in teams of five and start at different parts of the field. When I give the distress signal, you will all race to it and do what you must to rescue me. Whoever finds me first will win, but please keep the property damage to a minimum." As he said that last sentence, his gaze shifted to Dominic and Bakugo.
'Why's he looking at us?' the blondes wondered simultaneously.
"The first group will be Sero, Midoriya, Ashido, Xiao-Long, and Iida." All Might said. "Everyone else, to the observation deck!"
As soon as the race started, Dominic shot forward like a bullet. It wasn't hard to lock onto All Might's aura, as it was one of the most powerful he had ever seen. The two leapt to a nearby rooftop to get a better view of the course. While up there, they were able to see some of their opponents. Midoriya specifically caught Dominic's eye. He wasn't breaking his bones. 'Looks like he managed to take my advice to heart.' the boy thought with a smile. He stretched his arm forward, grabbing onto a pipe. 'It's only fair that I don't hold back.' Grinning, he focused his Aura into his feet, sending him rocketing through the course.
Needless to say, he snagged first place. Dominic would later hang the sash he got over his bed as a reminder of his awesomeness.
UA Male Locker Room (Day)
"Man, that was some tough training, huh?" Sero said as the group changed back into their school uniforms.
"You said it. I'm totally beat." Dominic said, laying face-first on the ground. There was also black smoke coming out of his body.
"Xiao-Long, what's wrong with you!?" Iida asked, worried.
"Nothing. I just overexerted myself in the race." the blonde said, giving a weak thumbs-up. "My Quirk is designed for power, not speed. Using too much firepower for too long can temporarily deplete my energy."
"Hey Midoriya, I just hit the jackpot!" Mineta said to the greenette, pulling down a poster. Behind the poster was a nickel-sized hole in the wall. "Someone Shawshanked a hole in the wall! Do you know what's next door?"
"Cheeseburgers?" Dominic guessed, still laying down.
Rolling his eyes, Mineta continued. "The girl's locker room! A previous generation has given us a gift we can't turn down!"
"Don't even think about it." Iida said with a glare. "Peeping on them would be criminal!"
"Then you'll have to throw me in solitary confinement because there's no stopping me!" Mineta said as he pressed his eye to the hole. Oddly, he didn't say anything about the girls for a few seconds. "Why's it pitch-black?" he asked. Then, without warning, an explosion went off in his face.
"I had a feeling you'd do something like this eventually, so I put a trap there in the event that you did. With the girls' permission of course." Dominic explained, pushing himself off the floor. He walked up to the wall, and closed the hole by filling the empty space with stone.
"That was a powerful attack." Kaminari said, envious.
"Eh, he'll be fine. I once saw him fall down three flights of stairs while trying to catch a 'peek' of one our upperclassmen." Dominic said, looking down at his purple-haired classmate. 'Maybe one day he'll actually make a decent hero.'
The Darkness
Long ago, a group of mages attempted opening a Portal to another world. Instead of traveling there, however, something came to their world. The Darkness laid waste to the land, destroying anything and anyone in its path until it was stopped by the Core of Light. But as time went on, it found a way to continue its destruction.
