Chapter 12: Plan of Action(Allura's POV)

Allura watches as the doctors in the Garrison work on outfitting Kuro with a new robotic arm. She hopes it works with the crystal from her crown working as a powersource. Since Earth's technology can barely power the prosthetics Commander Holt has built.

She clasps her hands together hoping.

Then the doctors back away and she sees Kuro outfitted with the new arm. She sighs in relief when Kuro tests it out with basic movements and works just fine. Running into the operation room she gives him a big hug.

"It worked!"

Kuro responds, "Yeah it did. Thanks."

Pulling back from the hug she replies, "But I did nothing…."

"On the contrary you parted with a gem from your crown and you suggested the idea to the team of doctors. So you earn my thanks."

Allura blushes, but brushes it off, "Come on. We have a meeting in about fifteen doboshes."

"Alright."

Once at the meeting she stands alongside Pidge to share their findings to the Garrison. The MFEs pilots stand along with the members of team miraculous who are wearing color coordinated Garrison uniforms that match their superhero forms colors.

"We've learned much from Sendak's memories. We discovered his tactics for taking over planets like Earth." Pidge begins.

"Sendak constructs bases at key strategic points around planets. This gives him access to vast swaths of territory. He uses the bases as deterrents to try to prevent any uprisings from occurring. Sendak also uses them to control the already conquered population," Allura finishes.

Veronica states, "Based on the data from Commander Holt's mirco-satellites crossed referenced with resistance information we've confirmed that Sendak has built six massive bases on Earth. We never knew what they were being for until this information came to light."

"They are the weapons? What is stopping us from taking them down?" Hunk asks.

"We do not have enough firepower to do the job. And even if we did we do not know if these facilities contain civilians and taking down the faculties could cause innocents to die. We cannot go in blind."

"Admiral Sanda is right. Which is why we should infiltrate and gather intelligence from a base first before taking action." Shrio says.

"The nearest base is fifty-two clicks south of our position."

"What's the area like?" Shiro asks Veronica.

"The terrain of the region around what we will call Base One is a complex urban environment. The path taking us there is through highly patrolled areas. It will be hard to keep proper surveillance of our surroundings due to all the structural damage in that area as well."

"Then we should form two teams. A ground unit that will infiltrate Base One and a Sniper Unit to give them cover from observing them at a higher position."

"Pidge, Keith, Shiro, and Griffin will be the ground unit. Lance, Zoe, Hunk, and I will be sniper support. Use communication sparingly and always be on the move. Keep an eye on the timing patterns of the patrol drones. Good Luck."

Lance's POV

"You didn't have to come along on this mission. Four sniper supports would have been enough," Lance comments, worried for his big sister.

"Please I have been going on these recon missions for months and no one knows the terrain better than me."

"I'm just worried for you,"

"That's sweet but you don't need to be. I am not going to stand back and let others defend the Earth when I can help."

"I know…" Lance trails off. He looks out his side window. Damaged structures are all around them. It feels so weird to see Earth in ruins when another planet they visited also was in ruins. But most of the structures were intact, only a few were toppled and had strike marks. Most of Earth's buildings have been toppled save a select few here and there.

When they reach the position that overlooks where Shiro and his team will be entering he sets up his bayard and gets into position. Looking through the sniper's telescopic lens he doesn't see anything yet.

"No transmissions. Varying radiation signatures," Hunk comments.

"Approaching Target Location." Shiro says.

"Copy that ground unit. We have eyes on you," Veronica states.

Something beeps on the sniper telescopic lens. It zooms in on three drones. "Drone patrol ahead." For the next several minutes nothing reaches his radar until the ground unit gets close to the base.

The group pauses until he hears Shiro say, "Lance, are you ready to cover for us once we go inside?"

"Affirmative."

Lance watches closely as he sees Pidge and Shiro run down the corridors through the telescopic lens.

"I've got you covered, Shiro. Scanning for hostiles. Sentries are on the other side of the east wall."

"Lance?"

"You guys are clear. You're going to have to take the right tunnel."

Spotting sentires approaching their location he adds, "Wait. There are sentries approaching from both tunnels. Hold position. Coming up to you in three, two, one."

He sighs in relief as they teleport past the sentries.

Zoe asks, "Does that thing pick heat signatures or what?"

"Actually it locks on to their suits sonar imaging and renders a 3-D Map within a 20-foot perimeter. Basically cool Paladin stuff." He responds by not taking his eyes off of Shiro and Pidge.

"I've got movement to the North," Zoe says.

Kinkade adds, "Drone are cloning in on your positions from the adjacent alley."

"I've got five hostiles," Veronica confirms.

"I'll take the three on the right," Zoe comments.

"I've got the other two," Kinkade says.

Lance watches Shiro and Pidge, looks like there are no sentries in their immediate position. But he moves farther and sees two standing in front of a door.

"Shiro, Pidge there are two sentries blocking the entrance."

"Roger that."

"Zoe, Kinkade there are more sentries headed our way." comments Keith.

Seeing that Shiro and Pidge have made it to their destination he stands up and focuses on helping Keith and Griffin. Drones head their way and he shoots two of them down and then focuses his attacks at the sentries. He sees Keith glow purple and go out in a tiger looking thing to knock the sentries down dodging their blasts as he does so.

Hunk shouts, "Cover is definitely blown!"

"Shiro, Pidge, it's time to go!"

"Roger that."

"Veronica denontate the chaff!" he shouts.

Explosions rock the ground a bit making him unsteady.

"Rendezvous at your vehicles. We only have a couple of minutes before the sentries regain their vision." Veronica states. Following Hunk they head down the stairs and climb into their vehicles. They speed off as quickly as they can. Well that went surprisingly well, Lance thinks. Hopefully the information that they've gathered will be instrumental in moving forward and ending this fight once and for all.
