Chapter 18: First Day on the Altas(Marinette's POV)
"You wanted to see me, Allura," Marinette confirms as she walks to the bridge of the Altas. Surprisingly Kagami is at her side as well.
"Yes, I did. Come with me," Allura says walking off the bridge, Kagami following close behind. She walks behind them as they go through the Atlas's corridors. Stopping at a door it opens to reveal the hanger where the Lions and the MFEs are.
"What are we doing here?" she asks as they walk up to one of the MFEs that has the number five on it.
"Kagami has informed me that she would rather be in the engineering section with Commander Holt, Slav and Chloe instead of being an MFE pilot." Allura states.
Kagami adds, "I did like piloting the MFE but I am too inexperienced at it whereas I have been around tech my whole life, with me being the daughter of a woman who runs a company based on tech. Besides you would make a better fit since you have the most experience piloting one of these as did Keith."
"And why are you telling me this now?" Marinette asks.
Allura crosses her arms, "Because someone forgot to mention it to me until now."
"With all due respect there was never a need for the MFEs during the months we rebuilt so it didn't seem like the time to bring it up." Kagami states.
"Fair enough, I suppose. But Marinette, that means that from now on if we need the MFEs you will be the fifth pilot. So when I say to your battle stations your station will be here."
She nods in understanding. At least she'll contribute something towards the mission now instead of being dead weight and being apart of the team again will be nice.
"Now if you will excuse Kagami, Marinette, I need to talk to Lotor and Luca about Honerva and if she will jeopardize everything or if she really just wants to talk with Lotor." Allura adds.
"But if Honerva just wants to talk, why is Lotor not willing to?"
"Because before Honerva was Honerva she was Haggar the witch. Someone who I guess tormented Lotor so much that he hates her and can't think that she is his mother, at least that is my theory. And I have no idea what could go wrong if Lotor continues to speak to Honerva this way. Luca seems convinced Honerva will wait, but I doubt it." Allura answers Marinette's question.
Ah, understandable. She wouldn't be willing to talk either if someone treated her horribly. Allura then leaves the hangar leaving the two of them alone.
"Thanks,"
"What?" Kagami asks, perplexed.
"Thanks for allowing me to have something to do on this mission. I told Lance I was worried I wouldn't have anything to contribute…"
"Oh, it is nothing, Marinette. I just felt it better if I contributed to an area of this ship that feels more familiar than something I am inexperienced in. I did well in battle, but I would rather stick to what I know then put myself at risk."
"Well, thanks anyway. I'm sure engineering is lucky to have you."
Kagami smiles slightly, "So will the MFEs considering you have worked with Voltron and were with Chat Noir for a time."
She smiles brightly, "Thank you."
"You're welcome."
Lotor's POV
"Please just give Honerva a chance. You've ignored her for months while helping the Earthlings. I know she would love it…."
"Stop it Luca. I am not talking to her period. I just cannot forgive her for the wrong she's done despite claiming to be a better person. She left me at the mercy of my old generals who didn't listen to her….."
"And she's regretted it. She's searched for you for a long time….."
"You say she has, but I do not believe a single word of it."
"But…."
"What part of I'm not talking to her do you understand?!" Lotor snaps in anger. This constant badgering him about Honerva and talking to her annoys him to no end.
"She just wants to talk," Luca says quietly after his outburst.
"Well I do not."
Then he swiftly turns away from Luca and walks away. How could Haggar ever think that by pretending to be his mother he could forgive her. There is no way in hell that she is his mother. Honerva died in childbirth, and father never spoke of her.
There is no way he is talking to her.
Honerva's POV
Honvera stares out of the balcony of the Castle she and the Alteans made. Oridane is beautiful with its pink sky and its rolling green fields. She feels bad trapping the Guardian, but in order for the whole Altean Colony to come here she had to trap it. Some would not have been worthy of entering.
The ghost, Gabriel Agreste, he calls himself appears beside her. She had asked the Guardian how ghosts could be real and he had said, 'Ghosts have a little leftover quintessence making them tethered to this world after their body fades. Making a little of their soul still left on this plane of existence.'
"Your son still doesn't want to talk to you despite Luca's ramblings about how much good you have done and how long you have searched for him."
"Give him time."
"But how long can you wait? And how long shall I spy on him for?"
"How can you spy on them anyway?"
"Oh," Gabriel grins, "There's someone else who has a kindred spirit to me. Someone who has lost dear ones close to him."
"Who?"
"A Keith Kogane. He has lost his father, the only family left and his mother abandoned him, he lost his brother to a space expedition. So tragic, just as my tale and yours."
"Indeed," She murmurs. "Perhaps I could help this Keith you spoke of as well as my son. We could all be a family together, though the only thing missing would be a loving father."
"He's with your son and has no doubt heard of the tales he's spread. And given how your son hasn't even forgiven you, I doubt Keith would."
"Is your son with them as well? Honerva asks, trying to lighten the mood.
"Yes it is a sight to watch him. Given how I hadn't had the opportunity to bring his mother, and my dear wife back. But he also hasn't forgiven me….. So I say you try to find someone who will forgive you, someone who will want you instead of waiting for your son to."
"Like a Lotor from another reality."
"Yes, one who has lost his mother and needs you to fill that hole in his heart." Gabriel grins.
"But I would need Voltron or the mech he created."
"Then get it."
"But I would need a lot of quintessence to tear the rift open…."
"Then get it. What matters most is filling the hole in your heart. Having your son back, being a family with him, even if it is a different Lotor, because they are all the same anyway. So do it."
Honerva sighs, but Gabriel is right. She can't wait forever for her son to forgive her or his friends. And she does want to fill this emptiness inside her that has been created by those darn rift creatures possessing her and Zarkon. Thankfully when she got her memories back the rift creature fled her body and died. Though she wasn't paying attention to it at the time as the memories of her past flooding her was more of a shock than anything else.
She will fill this hole inside her heart and become a mother just like she wanted. Have the life she dreamed of. She can only hope that the Lotor she wronged in this reality can eventually forgive her.
Author's Note: So there will be more days like this where we see what every character is up to and how life on the Atlas is, because I realized with this plot it kind of goes through it really quick and the only 'filler episodes' we have where some of the plot is going on is only two, so I want to flesh the characters out more especially my version of Honerva's motivation and yes Gabriel is a ghost influencing her to be bad whilst also at the same time making it about her son at the same time, like about his quest for the miraculous happened. 'It doesn't matter what happened because in the end everything will be fixed by my wish and this is all for my wife and son' type thing. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this chapter:)
