Seymour stood in front of the mirror in one of the bathrooms of Audrey's apartment, stunned that the events of the past semester had led to circumstances in which he was wearing a suit even as he was very happy that they… most of them… had occurred. It didn't even look terrible on him; that was the really crazy part. He exited the bathroom, his breath catching in his throat as Audrey left her bedroom at the same time. She was wearing a new green dress… she was so beautiful, absolutely radiant, with the dress hugging her curves in all the right places… he was so lucky to have her. She smiled warmly at him, making her way to him and tracing her angelic fingers down his chest. "You're so handsome…" She paused, a slight contemplative expression crossing her face for a moment. "What do you think?" She stepped backwards slightly, twirling in a 360° circle to show off the flowing of her dress. Completely awed, Seymour stepped towards her, taking her hands in his. "You're so beautiful, Audrey." She moved her gaze from him to the floor, smiling oh so adorably. "...Thank you…" After a pause of soaking up the moment and each other, they made their way to his car. Even with the fistfuls of money Audrey 2 had made them, neither of them had felt like spending money on renting a limo to get to prom after the long years they had spent not having money.

They settled into his car, with Seymour opening Audrey's door for her, and got started on their way. Suddenly, excited realization flashed across Audrey's face. "...I just remembered, I need to tell you, my mom's gonna use some of the money from Audrey 2 to buy the diner!" Relief flowed through him as some of the remaining tension from that fateful night of his battle with the plant faded. "That's great! I'm glad the shop, uh, 'burning down'" He took one hand slightly off the wheel for a moment to do air quotes. "won't affect her too badly." Audrey laughed slightly. "Yeah, I think she's even more excited about this than she was about not having to work there anymore." Seymour adjusted his route to the school so that they wouldn't have to pass the building where they had taken their AP exams; they had gone well for her and at least decently for him, but he figured that both of them could be spared the reminder of those recent but distant-seeming times. After they reached it and he parked in the parking lot, he got out of his car and opened her door for her, contemplating the question of whether he should suggest that they visit their usual place, the left wing, before making their way to the gym.

As they walked towards the school, hand in hand, he decided not to; that had been their sanctuary, their bubble of paradise when either Orin or the effects of him even after his death had loomed over them, but now the whole world was that for them. They entered the gym, having some punch and toasting to their shared future as well as a hopeful, unfortunately hypothetical so far future in which the College Board would either be disbanded or forced to change its ways before making their way further out into the middle of the room. Audrey paused, and Seymour stopped with her, realizing that she had found a good spot next to a group of three students who he discerned upon further observation were the former actors for Tzeitel, Motel, and Lazar Wolf. His suspicion that their love triangle drama had not resolved itself in the week before productions had been right, and he was happy for them. As Seymour wrapped his arms around Audrey, lovely Audrey, swaying to the music with her, he knew in the core of his being that this was the best possible conclusion to his junior year he could have had, even as he hoped that their senior year would be a bit less eventful than this one.
