Chapter 23: Genesis(Part 1)(Shiro's POV)

Shiro looks at Keith, why did he snap at them for asking a few questions? And why did Pidge defend him? He loves Keith with all his heart, but something is wrong. Why won't Keith open up to us? Looking around the table he can feel the tension brewing in Adrien and the other members of team Miraculous. Although Zoe and Kagami seem focused on the mission, whilst Chloe and Adrien keep sending Keith looks of anger and hurt.

Just what is so important about that peacock miraculous? It saved their lives because Keith used it, but now it's become a source of tension.

"Are you okay?" Adam whispers.

"Other than facing near death again, no. I am not," he whispers back, "It's just its only been a few minutes and still Adrien and Chloe are focused on the peacock miraculous Keith had on him. They keep sending him looks."

"I was wondering why that was happening. But that miraculous saved your life, I don't understand…."

"It's complicated. Apparently Adrien and his team were super worried about finding it, but Keith had it the whole time and didn't tell them."

"Why would he do that?"

"That's what I want to know, but he snapped and ran away when we pushed the subject. I'm concerned for him, Adam."

"Well perhaps maybe the event that occurred for him to get it was a traumatic one." Adam suggests quietly.

"What do you mean?"

"Well it would explain his aversion to talking about it and why he was so upset when you kept pushing to know the circumstances. It could be too painful to talk."

"You're probably right Adam. But still I want to know to help him…."

"And there's nothing wrong with that, my love. But he needs to tell you when he's ready, not when you force him. Otherwise you'll just get the same response and you won't be able to help anybody, not even Keith. You'll just push him away."

Shiro sighs, "You're right."

"I know. You can still be there for him, just don't ask about the miraculous, otherwise,"

"He'll snap."

"And when this business with Honerva is over perhaps he'll be in a mindset to tell you. You are his older brother after all."

"But Adrien is his younger brother and Keith didn't tell him. And you don't know for sure that Keith will want to tell me once Honerva is dealt with."

"I don't but he will open up eventually, just give him some time."

"Okay."

Shiro then turns his attention back to the front. Coran has stood up.

"With Pidge's system we've confirmed that robeasts have landed on planets Sanook, Bayeth, Nyja and Kovar."

"What does that witch want with those planets?" Lotor asks.

"When we went to Olkari I saw one of the Robeasts take some Olkari cubes." Pidge states, she's sitting beside to Keith.

"And those cubes have….." Lotor trails off and stands up. "Honerva is planning on siphoning the quintessence of those planets and transmitting their energy elsewhere."

"But does she need all that quintessence for?" Coran asks.

"She's a monster and probably needs that quintessence for something nefarious…"

"That's not true!" Luca protests, "All she wants is you!"

He notices Keith wince at that statement. Why would he wince at that?

"If she really cared for me then she wouldn't have been so heinous to me as a child!"

"But she was in a trance due to the rift creatures, it's not her fault!"

"I don't care." Lotor snarls, "she's using the planets for something and it's downright monstrous, just like what she did when she went by Haggar."

"No!"

"Stop. Luca this is pointless. Whether you like it or not we have to stop Honvera from doing this. We have confirmed that there are Robeasts on the planets mentioned. We have also discovered that the wormhole signatures all radiate from a single point. Oriande."

"Oriande? That witch couldn't possibly have the mark of the chosen!"

"Well she's there."

"And Luca you didn't mention this to anyone? You must have come from there?" Lotor questions.

"All you would have done is attack her when she's trying to change without proof that she's done anything."

"This isn't proof enough? What she did to Olkari wasn't proof enough? You're loyal to her! Luca you're loyal to that witch!? Why?"

"Because I believe in her. This has to not be her doing. She wouldn't do this. She wouldn't."

"Stop talking Luca, this is pointless because I'm not convinced and I'm sure everyone else isn't either. We must attack Orirande and stop Honerva from what she's planning before it's too late. The rebels can evacuate the planet's civilians if we can't stop the Honerva in time."

Coran shouts, "And she's already started her plan! The Robeasts have begun the process of drawing quintessence!"

"Then let's go. We must begin our assault on Oriande. Everyone to your battle stations."

He stands up from his chair and goes to the Black lion, but a hand grabbing his arm stops him. "Good luck Shiro and stay safe." Adam says and he quickly pecks his cheek.

"Thanks and I will Adam."

He heads to the Black Lion, but his mind is plagued with more than just the thoughts of the fight ahead. He had thought that when he would see Keith and Adam again all would be all, peace would be throughout the universe and none of this would be happening. He had been looking forward to a peaceful earth, to retire from the fight. Live and not have to worry about being injured or dying on a mission.

And this fight might be the last they fight in, period. But he must press forward and maybe hopefully he can help Keith, even if it means turning a blind eye to the peacock miraculous situation for a bit, because Keith obviously does not want to talk about it. So maybe what Adam said is true, that however Keith acquired it somehow scarred him deeply that he just put it away until it resurfaced, because he needed to use it to save us. If it weren't for that then maybe he wouldn't have had to relive whatever happened when he used the miraculous.

So it's their fault for having him use it to save our skins. But they didn't know the Altas would figure out the trick that the Olkari tech played on them both. They didn't know they would be saved. He sighs, he can't think about this right now, Honerva is the priority.

Honerva's POV

"My dear Alteans, my son has rejected me and I need his mech to go to a world that will fill this void in my heart. Thank you for standing by me in this process and if anyone tries to stop me from filling this emptiness inside you must stop them. I cannot bear to live in this reality knowing my son won't give me a chance to prove I've changed. May the light guide you as you protect me from those who oppose me. Once again thank you for standing by me in this process. Now go."

Two of her Robeasts leave the ground and head to the outer rim of Orirande to stop any oppressors from stopping her in completing the ritual.

Gabriel stands besides her, "Everything is going according to plan. Not even Voltron can stop you now."

"You underestimate them. They have beaten plenty of my beasts before. And they were tough."

"Ah but have you have an army of beasts this time and nothing will stand in your way as you complete this ritual to bring back the mech which is key to filling the emptiness inside you."

"Perhaps you're right. But I'm still not….."

"Your beasts are already siphoning quintessence from the planets you sent them too. It's too late to have second thoughts, my dear. Besides, your Lotor can't even forgive you now. What makes you think he can later on? My son couldn't forgive me either and I was just trying to make our family perfect again."

"You're right, in order to fill the hole in my heart I must go to another reality where Lotor will accept me for who I am."

"Of course I am. Now commence the ritual."
