Chapter 24: Genesis(Part 2)(Shiro's POV)

Shiro tenses as he and the rest of his team fly into the wormhole leading them to Oriande. He has no idea what the outcome of this battle will be, and it worries him a little. Not to mention his little brother is having a hard time. He shakes his head, focus on the mission at hand. Now is not the time to be worried.

Once their short wormhole journey is finished they're at the entrance to Oriande. The massive white hole swirls in front of them.

"Okay team, let's finish this. Form Voltron!"

Now that they have formed Voltron they head to the White Hole. "Wait, there's something coming from the white hole." Adrien states.

Allura and Lotor comment, "The Guardian."

But instead two robeasts fly out of the white hole and towards them causing Allura and Lotor to be horrified.

"Where is the Guardian!?" Allura asks, while Lotor hisses, "What did that witch do?

"Voltron go to Honerva me and Altas can take care of the Robeats," responds Luca not the least bit shaken at the prospect at her fellow Robeast pilots attacking them.

Shiro nods, "Team let's go!"

They fly into the White hole, blinding bright white light surrounds them making him squint his eyes. Tenison is still on his shoulders as they continue their descent. Suddenly Pidge shouts, "Watch out!" And they narrowly avoid a blast of purple light.

"No!" Lance shouts, "We have to hurry!"

Noticing his lion speaking to him he puts his bayard in the port that just opened up and he closes his eyes, imagining getting to Oriande and seeing Honerva. Seeing through his lion's eyes he sees Honvera engulfed in the purple energy using it to rip a tear in the fabric of reality. When they get closer he notices a White Lion encased in a cage of purple energy. Then the White Lion disappears into specks of white light and Honerva murmurs something intangible.

Once they land on the ground two Robeasts guarding Honvera start to attack them. He grunts they don't have time for this! They have to stop Honerva from whatever she's planning.

"Form sword!"

But no sword appears, and they get a punch from a Robeast and they land harshly on the ground. "Keith, sword!" He shouts, trying to get his brother's attention. But no sword forms again. "Pidge Shield!"

The shield instantly appears and blocks the hit from the Robeast. They can't defend forever, what's going with Keith?! First the Peacock Miraculous dilemma early today and now this.

Just what the heck is going on?!

Lance shouts, "Keith what the heck!? Didn't you hear Shiro say 'form sword'!?"

But no response comes from him. Which is odd. Just what happened to make him go completely silent like this? To not even respond to a quip from Lance? Shiro shakes his head, he can deal with it later right now they got two Robeasts to worry about. They dodge and block as many hits as they can from the two Robeasts when suddenly he sees flashes of people, Alteans.

"Pidge, what is going on?"

"According to my scanners what we're seeing is alternate realities. Honerva has ripped the fabric of spacetime. We have to stop her before it's too late! She could end our reality as we know it!"

"Like when Zethrid used Lotor's mech to jump between the quintessence field and our reality?" Lance asks.

"Exactly like that. Except this could destroy all realities."

"Then Keith's going to need to get his head out of the clouds, we're going to need Voltron's sword to stop her." Lance comments.

"Lance, don't talk about him that way!" Pidge shouts.

"But it's true."

"Enough! We just need to find a way to defeat these Robeasts and stop Honerva at the same time."

"But without Voltrons….."

Suddenly the purple light engulfing Honerva fades and out of the ground comes Lotor's mech. His eyes widen in fear, the last time it took Allura giving all of Voltron's excess energy to that mech to stop Zethrid from succeeding, but they don't have her.

"This was Honerva's plan all along," Pidge comments afraid and he doesn't blame her.

Suddenly a bright blinding light strikes at them from the hole Honenerva made and everything fades to black.

Honerva's POV

"You did it. You brought back Zethrid from the quintessence field along with the key to making your goal a reality." Gabriel comments.

"But I had to sacrifice the White Lion…."

"Doesn't matter. He was just a means to an end. He only served two purposes really."

"I suppose, and now she's back." She stares at the big mech it's just standing, but its head turns and it goes towards one of the downed lions. Using her magic she commands the mech to stop holding it in place. Just because the Paladins are interfering doesn't mean she wants them killed.

"Why not let the mech kill Voltron? They will just get in the way….."

"They're the friends of my son here in this reality. I cannot just let them be killed when Lotor accepts them…"

"But they hate you."

"Only because they've only heard Lotor's side of the story."

"Perhaps. And what caused them to black out like that?"

"Time slippage from me bringing the mech back from the Quintessence field."

"I see."

Then she notices one of the Paladins charging towards her. Quickly she uses her magic to take their souls away from reality. A dark void surrounds her and she sees the Paladin that attacked her. It's the Blue Paladin. Lance was it?

"Honvera what did you do?"

"I took our souls to the void so we could have a chance to talk."

"And why would I talk to you? You brought back Zethrid, you're going to destroy all realities!"

"I only did that so I could…. You know what nevermind, you would just twist my intentions because you can't give me a chance."

"And why would we? You've helped Zarkon enslave millions, and now you've killed a bunch of planets just to bring back Zethrid! You don't deserve a second chance! And as soon as you release us from whatever this is I will end you."

"But I am the only one stopping Zethrid from killing all of you in outrage. You left her in the Quintessence field and her anger towards you is unparalleled. So either kill me and doom your friends, or let me live and go free sparing all your lives."

"Why should I believe you?"

"You shouldn't Lance. But I don't want to hurt you. You're the first genuine friends my son has made and it would break my heart if you all died leaving him alone."

"What?"

"It's true. I only want the mech so I can…" She shakes her head, she doesn't have to explain what she wants to do to Lance. He won't understand. The only one that understands is Gabriel because he lost his family too. And tried to bring them together again but failed. But she will succeed in being with her family. And her trip won't destroy realms, if that's what Lance is assuming.

Looking at the Blue Paladin he is staring at her in shock. She undoes the spell, placing them back in reality. Lance looks torn but ultimately decides to put his sword away. She dodges him as he falls onto the ground.

"Thank you for understanding, Lance." She says. Looking at the mech she smiles, she's one step closer to filling the emptiness in her heart. Suddenly the ground trembles. Its becoming unstable, her rift in reality and the quintessence she poured into opening it must have overloaded Oriande. Quickly she assumes her position in the fortress and makes it fly away, commanding Zethrid to come with her and escape before Oriande collapses.

Lance's POV

Dang it! He was so close to ending it, to ending this war. But what Honerva said, about it breaking her heart if harm were to come upon because they were friends with her son struck a chord in him. She wasn't trying to be malicious but then why bring back Zethrid at all then? But he also couldn't let his friends die because of his anger.

It's just…..It's just…. He shakes his head. They have to get out of here.

Flying back to his lion he notices that Honerva hadn't set Zethrid against them, like her words were true. It makes everything so much more complicated. They failed, yes, but what exactly was Honerva planning? She wasn't being malicious towards him, just being genuine. Was she really the witch Lotor claimed she was? She doesn't seem like it at all.

Getting into his pilot's chair he notices that Blue is back online after whatever had caused them to black out.

"Shiro, Keith, Pidge, Hunk we have to get out of here. Oriande is unstable."

"What about Honerva?"

"She's already left, but we can worry about that later. First we have to get out of here."

"Alright, team form Voltron!" Shiro shouts.

Flying through the White Hole, he thinks of how tense he was during the battle. Honerva was an opponent that they had never faced before and it didn't help that Keith for some reason was in his own little world. Though the Peacock Miraculous incident could be to blame. They weren't exactly on his side during that time, only Pidge was. But it was just a question about where he got it and why he hid it until that Volcano planet. He even snapped at Shiro, which was strange. He was a jerk, he'll admit. And now after meeting Honerva for the first time, he isn't sure she's the big bad in this fight.

Once they get out of the White Hole the Atlas is ready for them with a wormhole open, they go through it together. On the other side Allura asks, "What happened?"

"We failed, she got away,"
