Chapter 29: Found One!(Allura's POV)

Allura rushes to the meeting room, Pidge found one! Her system found one! Granted it has only been twenty-four hours since the system went online but still! It found one! A Robeast. Once inside the room, she takes a seat next to Kuro, barely containing her excitement.

Soon this will all be over and the universe will finally know peace again. Before Zarkon turned on his fellow paladins, his friends. Soon his Empire will crumble. Just like Altea did at his hands.

Looking at Pidge her anger fades, replaced with her earlier excitement.

"My system found a Robeast emitting weak energy in this quadrant near Orirande. I couldn't pinpoint its exact location from this far away but once we get closer I should be able to tell which planet it's on."

"Good, let's prepare the Atlas and Voltron. We don't know what to expect from a downed Robeast," Lotor replies.

Luca responds, "The Robeast once it's powered down is harmless. The only thing that has backup power is the pilot chamber to keep us alive if we get stranded. So the only thing we need to worry about is whatever environment the Robeasts are in when we find them."

"It really has no other defenses?"

"No. The material the mechs were made from are very durable, able to withstand any hit. The only weak spot is when we fire a beam. As you all experienced in the battle two days ago."

Allura nods, yeah, those mechs were made very tough.

"Any word from our other allies?"

"The Valmeirans have stated that their sector of space hasn't seen any Robeast activity," Zoe reports.

Adrien nods, "Our other allies have reported the same. I couldn't get into contact with the Sandeians though…."

"It's probably because they live deep underground on their planet until Clear Day…." Coran proposes.

Marinette interjects, "But we could get in touch with them before Clear Day to schedule having Voltron be there for the festivities."

"Yes but it was a few days before we came that they requested us, so perhaps…."

"This is pointless, none of the other sectors have seen any activity regarding Honerva and her Robeasts. Right now we should focus on retrieving the one our Robeast finder found and questioning the pilot. Luca you should head down with Voltron to supervise the extraction of the pilot. You know more about these mechs than we do….." Lotor commands, annoyed with the idle chit-chat.

She nods, "Yes and Atlas will keep a visual in case the MFEs need to help as well with the extraction."

"Then it's settled."

A Few Minutes Later:

Allura watches from the meeting room as the Paladins descend close to the remains of the Robeast. The planet they are on looks forested, but no life can be seen tampering with the Robeast. The Robeast has landed harshly on the planet leaving a crash mark on its surface, looking like it uprooted some roots of the blue trees. It rests on a bunch of trees that's piled underneath its hulking body.

So far it looks like the coast is clear, no nasty surprises laying in wait.

Voltron wraps some cords around the Robeast's metal body, preparing to extract it. Voltron then signals for Luca to help them carry the humongous body back to the ship. It leaves the ground, but once it is removed a terrifying roar is heard.

"Voltron I got this, you deal with whatever made that roar," Luca responds.

Shiro complies, "Ok, Allura, Coran do you know what we're dealing with?"

"I'm afraid not Shiro. No one has ever told tales of the planets surrounding Oriande and what they hold."

"And why's that?" asks Lance.

"Because Oriande was more important to our culture than the system it belonged to." replies Coran.

"He's right."

The roar continues until a big winged creature comes into view. It has blue iridescent scales along its neck and the rest of its body, but its head is covered in blue feathers. Its beady eyes are pure purple and its wings are like that of a dragons. It has two long antennae that have blue feathers attached to the end. It has a large horn-like structure sticking out of the middle of its head that continues along its spine and tail. It has a beaked snout that is a lighter blue than its feathers and scales. It's tail has blue feathers on the end of it.

"That's a beautiful creature," comments Coran and Allura nods in agreement.

"Well it may be beautiful but it looks angry!" shouts Lance.

The creature gets a look at Voltron and roars again. She tenses but the creature looks at Voltron and then at Luca and roars yet again. Then it twists it head in confusion before flapping its enormous wings and taking off.

"What the heck was that about?" Hunk asks.

"I don't know." murmurs Lotor.

Yeah that was weird, the creature seemed to be trying to communicate with us? But that doesn't make any sense. And why not attack. Also strange.

"It could have been scoping us out as potential threats to its territory," Kagami proposes. "It likely heard us moving the Robeast and it thought an enemy was the one to cause the noise. The roars were likely it challenging us to duel but because we didn't respond it deemed us as not a threat to its territory and safety leaving us alone."

"Could be, there's a lot we don't know about certain planets and their inhabitants."

"This system in particular because it was deemed off limits by Alteans for generations as unsafe," Coran adds.

"But now Oridane is gone along with the White Lion, thanks to that witch. I sure hope this pilot can shed some insight into what that witch is planning," Lotor responds, a hint of anger in his voice.

Allura nods. Yes she can't wait to put an end to this once and for all.
