-Sapporo Hospital-
Yami slowly opened his eyes before wincing.
"Easy there, kiddo. You gave us quite a scare."
Yami slightly turned his head and saw Raphael sitting on a chair by his left side.
"You slept for a whole day yesterday. Your injuries were not that bad… minus your back and ribs, but it's not life threatening," said Raphael.
Yami wanted to say something, but his throat was still a bit sore.
"Don't try to move… if you can. I don't think you would be able to move," said Raphael, pointing to his right side.
Yami was confused before carefully turning his head to see…
Raphael chuckled a bit, "Those two wouldn't leave your side, not one bit. Your cousin had to drag Yugi while Joey picked up Jaden and took them to eat something."
'Yugi… Jaden, 'thought Yami. He noticed that both boys were holding onto his right arm.
"Go back to sleep. You'll need it to recover," said Raphael.
Yami gave a small nod and within seconds, he fell asleep. He didn't wake up again until late afternoon and noticed his arm was free.
That's when the door opened and came in was…
"I can't believe you ate more than Joey," said Yugi.
Jaden grinned, "I just love fried shrimp. But then again, I love any kind of food."
Yugi laughed, "I guess Seto needs to warn the cooks about you."
Jaden gasped, "Cooks? You guys have your own cooks!? Cool!"
Yugi giggled a bit but just before he sat down, he looked at his brother who was…
"… you're awake," said the small teen.
Jaden jumped up and down, "Yay! You're awake, Yami!"
The young brunette dashed over to Yami's side and tried to get up to the bed but couldn't. He pouted, "I hate being small…"
Yugi laughed as he feels the same thing about his height. He went behind Jaden and picked him up, placing him on the bed.
"Thanks Yugi," said Jaden then turned his attention to Yami, "I'm glad you're okay. When I learned that it was Chiyo who hurt you… I was worried…"
Yami smiled weakly, "No… need… just glad… I'm alive."
Jaden grinned as happy tears ran down his eyes.
"So am I," said Yugi. "Once you're a bit better, they're going to transfer you to Domino Hospital. In the meantime," he walked over to his bag and took out the album, "Raphael mention that you don't remember before you were kidnapped, so I brought this to help you remember."
Yugi walked to Yami's left side and sat down while Jaden went to his right.
The small teen placed the album on Yami's lap and opened it. As the three were looking at the pictures, Seto, Mokuba, Solomon and the gang came in.
"Well, look who's finally awake," said Joey.
"How you feel, Atem?" Tristan asked.
'That's right. My first name is Atem,' thought Yami. "I'm… fine."
"I guess re-introduction is in order. I'm Seto Kaiba, and this is my younger brother, Mokuba were related through our mothers. The small teen sitting by your left side is Yugi, your brother and the elder is our grandfather, Solomon Muto. Over there are Tea, Tristan and Joey."
Solomon winked, "Don't worry. It's a lot to take in. We have plenty of time for you to remember. And if you don't, well, I believe new memories are in order."
"Yea, and once you're better, Tristan and I will show you the best places that Domino can offer," said Joey with a silly grin.
"Oh, yea! Guy's Night Out!" Tristan said.
Seto gritted his teeth before hitting the two of them on the head.
"Like I will allow that, nimrods! The last time you two took Yugi somewhere, Yugi was in the ER for a broken arm!"
Yami stared in disbelief while Mokuba and Jaden were laughing.
Solomon patted Yami's shoulder, "You'll get used to it like before. Normally, you would stop them before it gets ugly."
"Um, you don't say," murmured Yami.
Jaden giggled, "Your friends are funny, brother."
Seto huffed, "Funny, not really… but they are decent entertainment."
Tea shook her head before glaring at the two fallen boys, "You two better behave yourselves."
Joey and Tristan simply nodded.
"So, what do you want to know?" Mokuba asked, going over to Yami's side. He sheepishly grinned, "Though I can't help as I was a toddler at the time."
"Why not start at the beginning?" Yami asked as his voice was a bit stronger.
A few hours later, all three Muto siblings and Mokuba were sleeping around Yami's bed while Joey, Tristan and Tea were asleep on the couch. However, Seto, Solomon and Raphael were still awake.
"How long do you think Atem needs to stay here?" Seto asked.
"Mm, Dr. John said that he'll probably need a week before being transferred to Domino Hospital. Why?" Raphael replied.
Seto looked over to his cousin, "Even though we destroyed their hideout along with that bastard and his lackey's inside, I sense… something is going to happen if we don't get Atem out of here as soon as possible."
Solomon nodded, "I agree with Seto. Is there any way for Atem to be transferred sooner?"
"I'll talk to the doctor tomorrow," said Raphael. He then frowned, "I too don't think that not all Hirutani's men were arrested."
Seto narrowed his eyes, "Who would be able to avoid so many officers around?"
Raphael sighed, "I can only think of one person… Chiyo, Hirutani's right-hand man. He did quite a few escapes before he met up with Hirutani. Together, they were unbeatable, and if they don't get their way, they would resort to… killing."
"Then we better get Atem out of here as soon as possible," said Solomon with worry.
Raphael nodded, "I plan to. Best get some sleep."
Seto and Solomon agreed before Raphael left the room.
Seto then gave the elder Muto the recliner to sleep on while the older Kaiba slept on the chair by Yami's left side.
Three days passed, and Yami was able to sit up. Though, Yami was annoyed that he had to regain the strength back in his legs again.
Currently, Yami was on top of the hospital as he was getting rather bored in his room. On the rooftop, there were tables, a few bushes, flowerpots, and a couple of trees. Almost like a garden.
Yami was waiting for the nurse to come back from the bathroom while Yugi and the others were sightseeing. Though, Yugi and Jaden are planning to bring something for Yami as the older teen was getting tired watching the television.
That's when Yami noticed that the nurse was taking a bit longer than usual.
'Strange, he normally takes a few minutes. Did something happen?' Yamithought.
The teen was about to push the wheelchair to the elevator when he felt a hand placed on his shoulder. He turned his head slightly, "Al, what took – You!?"
-Police station-
Raphael was doing some paperwork when his phone rang. He picked up the phone, "Chief Thompson here."
"Chief, trouble! There's a lockdown at the hospital! Chiyo was spotted in the security cameras!"
Raphael stood up, "WHAT?! Are you positive!?"
"Yes. Even though he disguised himself a nurse, but his face was a dead giveaway."
Raphael gritted his teeth, "Get everyone out there, now!"
"Understood, sir!" said the officer before hanging up.
'That bastard. He doesn't know when to quit. I need to inform Mr. Kaiba,' thought Raphael before calling the CEO's number.
"Chief Thompson? What's wrong?" Seto asked.
"Something has happened at the hospital," replied Raphael.
-Sapporo Hospital-
Yugi and the others arrived at the hospital and saw a bunch of officers inside. The small teen looked around until he spotted the blonde officer and ran over to him.
"Raphael, what's going on?" Yugi asked.
"Chiyo, that's what happened," Raphael answered. "He somehow sneaked into the hospital without anyone noticing him."
Jaden widened his eyes, "No… that means…"
Raphael sighed, "Unfortunately, yes. He found Yami, and I believe he's going to finish what he started."
Yugi and the others gasped.
"Damnit, isn't there anything we can do?" Joey asked.
Raphael shook his head, "Chiyo is the most dangerous criminal I have ever met. He will do anything to save his own skin, including killing anyone who stands in his way."
Joey and the others gasped.
"We can't let that happen," said Tea.
"There's nothing we can do that involves Yami getting hurt," said Raphael. "If I sent my men up there, it's going to be a death sentence for him."
"But we can't just stand here and do nothing!" Joey said.
"There has to be something we can do," murmured Yugi.
That's when Jaden remembered something. The young brunette gasped before opening his bag and looked through it until he pulled out a smoke bomb.
"I knew it!" Jaden said before offering it to the chief officer. "Here, use this. Yami will use this to knock out the cops during the raids."
Raphael took the offered bomb, "That would explain why my men never got hurt or killed during the raids for the past few years. Thanks, kid."
Jaden nodded with a grin.
"Alex! Get the drone ready now!" Raphael ordered.
"Yes, sir!"
In the security room, Raphael and the others were watching the rooftop through the camera. They could see that Yami was on the floor, lying in his own blood.
'Yami,' thought Yugi.
"Sir, the drone is in position. Ready for your signal!"
That's when they saw Chiyo walk to Yami and kick him a couple of times before picking him up. It looked like he was leaning to his ear before throwing him to the ground and taking out his gun.
"Now!" Raphael said.
Just before Chiyo could fire the gun, the smoke bomb was dropped and hit the floor. Smoke filled up the rooftop causing Chiyo to turn around before stepping backwards.
It looked like he was trying to find a way out, but no such luck.
Just before he dropped to the floor, Chiyo fired his gun at Yami.
Raphael quickly ordered his men to arrest Chiyo while John and his team were attending to Yami's wounds before loading him on a gurney. They quickly dashed to the elevator and quickly ran towards the operation room.
"Put pressure on the wound!"
"Quick! He lost a lot of blood!"
'Yami… hang in there,' thought Yugi as he and Jaden watched the nurses rolled Yami into the operating room.
-Yami's mind-
Yami looked around, seeing only darkness.
For a moment, he felt the darkness slowly swallowing him, but then there was a small glimmer of light. Slowly the light grew which caused Yami to cover his eyes.
When the light dimmed, Yami reopened his eyes to see he was in an unknown living room.
"Where… am I?"
Yami looked around before hearing a door open and a voice was heard.
"We're home, dad! Come on dear. Easy there, nice and easy."
Yami widened his eyes upon seeing what looked to be an older version of himself. He was holding onto a woman with dark brown hair, who was holding a baby in her arms.
"Mama! Papa!"
Yami gasped to see himself as a small toddler being carried by Solomon.
"Hey there, kiddo. Were you been behaving for grandpa?"
Toddler Atem nodded, "Yea, me good. Me good."
"Well, come and meet your little brother, sweetie," said the woman.
"Little… b'other?"
Solomon walked over to the woman so toddler Atem could see his little brother.
"He's tiny, mama."
The woman simply laughed warmly, before telling Solomon to place toddler Atem on the couch. The elder did so and the woman placed the newborn baby next to him.
Yami smiled as he watched himself talk to his baby brother.
"Am I… regaining my missing memories?"
The teen continued watching until the memory changed.
This time Yami could see that a few years passed, and in the living room, was young Atem with a young Seto, looking at some cards with Atem's father.
"Now, listen boys, dueling it's not just power, it's the faith you have in your deck. True, many have doubts about it and say its dumb luck, but it's not."
"My father taught me and Seto duel monsters at such a young age?"
Yami would crack a smile when little Yugi would crawl to the table and try to snatch some cards from the table.
"Ah! Yugi don't put that in your mouth! Dear, a little help here!"
Yami laughed along with his younger self and his cousin upon seeing Atem's father trying to take a card from little Yugi's hands.
