Chapter 9: King:
Beowulf's POV:
I am now King of my people! Along with Olwette, my Queen, our son, Wiglaf, and his lover, Lyneree.
"... and just as Elvina was about to strike, Beowulf killed her," says Breca.
"Your adventures were incredible, my Lord," says Lyneree.
"Father could defeat anyone," says Wiglaf.
Then a slave came in. "My Lord," says the slave, "I have grave news!"
Slave's POV - Flashback:
I was exploring this cave where I found this golden cup. I then took it, but... I heard a roar. "So, you steal the cup of Smaug!"
It was a dragon! It chased after me and I ran! I was lucky to get away! The dragon then left its cave in rage!
Beowulf's POV - Present:
"And now that dragon is on the loose!"
"Don't worry," I said, "I'll take care of this beast!"
. . .
We were getting ready. "Father, I wish to join you on this one," says Wiglaf.
"Alright, Son," I said. It's been 50 years since I took down Grendel's Mother. I hope I'm not rusty.
Smaug's POV:
I looked over the land. I wonder if the man who killed my mate and son will show up. Probably not. I'll just destroy this land to get my cup back and if I happen to find the killer, I can avenge them as well!
To Be Continued
Wiglaf and Lyneree are the Future Grandparents of Princess Golden Sun. In the next chapter, Beowulf faces the dragon.
