George's Point of View
Missy looked so small on that recovery bed. Sheldon climbed up on the bed and lay down next to her.
"Sheldon! You're here," Missy said beaming.
"Of course I am," Sheldon said.
"How are your headaches Princess," I asked her.
Missy blinked.
"I'm okay," she said, "When am I going to be released?"
"You can go home in a few days barring any complications," Dr. Grey told Missy.
"I'm staying with Missy," Sheldon said.
"Sheldon," I put my hand on his shoulder, "You go home with your mom. I'll stay with Missy."
"She's my sister," Sheldon said, "You can stay with her too if you want but I'm staying with her also."
"But Shelly– you have school tomorrow."
Sheldon paused. Most kids didn't enjoy school. Sheldon loved school. He was the smartest kid I ever met. Hell, Sheldon was even smarter than me.
"Missy," Sheldon asked, "What do you want?"
"I just had a brain tumor taken out of my head," Missy pointed out, "I'm probably not going to be much fun when I'm like this. You should go to school, and I'll see you tomorrow when you come back here. I love you, Sheldon."
Sheldon hugged her.
"I love you too Missy," he said, "Dad, can I talk with Missy on the phone?"
"Sure," I said.
Missy slept all through the first night in the hospital. She woke up hungry.
She ate all her breakfast. A few minutes after breakfast was done Mary and Sheldon came in.
"Happy birthday Missy," he said.
He handed her a wrapped present.
"What is it?" Missy asked.
"Open it," Sheldon said.
It was a Celeste doll. Missy had wanted one from the time that she came out. Missy gave Sheldon the biggest hug.
"I love you Sheldon," she said.
"I love you too," Sheldon told Missy.
"Come on Shelly," Mary said, "I'll take you to school now."
"Okay," Sheldon said, "I'll see you this afternoon."
Sheldon took Mary's hand, and they walked out.
