A\N: Okay so, I've decided to combine my two Scandal oneshots into the same oneshot to save time. The pairing will of course be Olitz, I plan to have more Olitz oneshots soon. I hope you enjoy, Angels.

The sleepless night started the night after she received the shattering phone call, that one phone call that brought her face-to face with the man she had loved for years.

She thought that it was HIM calling her like he did at that time, at 8;30, but it wasn't. The voice on the other end of the phone wasn't the one she'd known like the back of her hand, it was female and young. It was a nurse at a hospital. She hung up before the nurse could finish, for she knew what she was about to say. She got out of bed and threw on whatever she could get her shaking hands on: washed out jeans and the t-shirt she was already wearing. She left the apartment with only her phone and keys.

She returned the following night, after spending all day at the hospital. She kept her emotions inside all day, buried behind her mask. She saw him outside her door with his Secret Service guys when she stepped out of the elevator. The look on his face, a mix between relief, love and concern and hurt, made her stumble, made the emotion burst out behind her carefully curated mask, Fitz was in front of her before she could blink, before she could crash to the ground. He picked her up in his arms, motioned to his security guys to open her apartment door with the key he had, and carried her inside.

He placed her on the couch, took off her shoes, put them underneath the coffee table, and sat beside her, pulling her in his arms, pulled her onto his lap so she could bury her head into his chest where she sobbed and sobbed, cried for her father, her father who was now dead. "I'm so sorry, Livvie." Fitz had whispered as he kissed her hair gently, she ignored him and carried on crying for her father.

"How'd you know?" She asked him 2 hours later when the last of her tears had stopped falling down her face but she hadn't removed her face from his chest, which didn't bother the man holding her. He sighed.

"You didn't answer your phone the entire day which was odd in itself because you're glued to it. OPA hadn't heard from you, hadn't seen you all day. I got a frantic call from Abby, then Quinn when Huck couldn't trace your cell because it was switched off. OPA were ready to burn the whole of DC down until I told them I'd find you. It took my guys three hours to find you by the way, when my guys called the hospital, the hospital told them what had happened, then they told me and then I came and waited here." He explained to her, she lifted her head from his chest and gave him a small smile before a yawn overtook her. Fitz chuckled and stood with her still in his arms.

"Come on, Livvie, time for bed." He whispered as he walked into her bedroom which was how she left it: unmade bed, clothes strewn across the room, an empty bowl of popcorn on her nightstand along with a wine glass and the wine bottle. Fitz ignored the room and placed her down in the bed after shedding her jeans and tucked the covers up to her shoulders. He placed a feather light kiss on her forehead and straightened up to leave when she grabbed his wrist. She didn't want to be alone. "Stay?" She requested softly, Fitz nodded without hesitation, like he had planned on staying with her whether or not she asked. "Of course, I've gotta make a few phone calls but I'll be back." He said before he left the bedroom, with the bowl of popcorn, the wine bottle and the wine glass in his hand.

She was nearly asleep due to emotional exhaustion when he slipped back into the bed beside her clad only in his boxers. He snapped off the light and pulled her into his arms. He kissed her hair. "Sleep, Livvie, I'm here." He whispered into the darkness.

It's her father's funeral tomorrow and she can't sleep, not even with his body beside her. He's hardly left her since she came home to him standing outside her door a week ago, luckily Mellie, and Cyrus, had understood and only called him if it was an emergency pertaining to the kids and the country and when he did have to leave, he called Abby or Quinn to sit with her and he was never gone for more than three hours.

"Livvie?" Comes his sleep filled voice, she turns and sees that he's awake, she allows a small smile to spread on her face. "Hi." She whispered. Fitz sighs as he snaps the light on. She blinks as the light blinds her for a few seconds. "Can't sleep?" Fitz asks, she nods her head. Fitz sighs again and pulls her into his arms like he did one week ago. And just like a week ago, he kisses her hair. "Sleep, Livvie, I'm here." He whispers. She places her head on his chest, over his beating heart and closes her eyes.

With his arms around her, his heart thumping in her ear, Olivia Pope falls asleep with Fitzgerald Grant holding her.

A\N: I didn't know where to end this one seeing as I've mashed the two oneshots together. I have got a lot on this week so I apologise if there are mistakes that I've not caught, I hope you Angels enjoy anyway.
