Chapter 3: Wings:
Dream:
I'm happy for Radames and Aida. I then returned to my chamber where Chay-Ara was waiting for me.
"I'm glad you got those two together," says Chay-Ara.
"Honestly, I was worried," I said, "but I should've known! Radames is a great guy. Aida would be a fool not to return his feelings. No offense to her."
"Now, let's get to us," says Chay-Ara.
But as we got close, we both felt something strange and for once, it was not our love! The next thing we knew... wings grew out of our backs!
. . .
We were taking a look at our wings. "How is this possible," I asked.
"Could this be our punishment," asks Chay-Ara.
"I'm not sure," I said. I then plucked a feather from one of mine and it hurts. "I'll talk to my parents and you talk to yours!"
. . .
I then showed my parents my wings. "What has happened to me," I asked.
"It is time you know," says Father, "years ago, visitors from another world came!"
"Another world," I asked.
"From beyond th stars," says Mother, "his name was Hro Talak!"
"He died the day you were born," says Father, "and when that happened, his blood was infused with you!"
"But how," I asked.
"He did that to save your life," says Mother.
"And now that you have his blood, it seems you now have his wings," says Father.
I then had a thought. "There was another, right," I asked.
"Her name was Paran Dul," says Mother, "she did the same to save Chay-Ara... but how do you suspect?"
"I... you said visitors, so I just figured there was another," I said, "so, Chay-Ara must have wings like mine as well!"
"More then likely," says Father, "Hro Talak and Paran Dul came from a world called Thanagar. They were law enforcers who crashed here by accident. Where they come from, everyone has wings. Hro was the first to appear and we thought he was Ra, but he and Paran ensured us they were not Gods."
"I... I have to go," I said. I then left the room.
. . .
To think... the blood of a man from another world is now within me... and... he saved me! I then found Chay-Ara. "Did your parents tell you," I asked.
"Yes," says Chay-Ara, "this is incredible! What do we do?"
I then thought about it... "Let's see if we can fly," I said.
