Chapter 2: Carter Hall:

Carter's POV:

I arrived at the Justice Society base. The others weren't in. I then got a call from A.R.G.U.S., our bosses. "Hey, Hawkman, it's me," says Agent Economos, "we found a potential recruit, but... we're starting to have second thoughts about this Shazam. He seems kind of... immature. I mean he still has to be better than that Black Adam you guys met..."

I then hung up.

. . .

I switched back to my civilian clothes, but first... my wings! Be glad you can't see it, because it's kind of gross. I had to suck my wings back into my back. It's more painful than it sounds. I was then on my way to my parents' place.

. . .

I was chatting with my parents. "Those vigilantes keep causing trouble," says Dad. His name is Irwin Hall. He's a judge. He doesn't approve of superheroes, seeing them all as vigilantes. He also doesn't like supervillains because... well, they're criminals.

"I think you're being a little hard on them," says Mom. Her name is Rae Hall. She's just a housewife.

"Carter, what do you think," asks Dad.

"I think Hawkman has to be some kind of freak."

We then heard arguing.

"Hank and Don are back," we all said.

"I'm just saying you could be a bit less violent," says Don.

"It got the job done," says Hank.

Hank and Don are superheroes too. Hank is Hawk and Don is Dove. No, they don't have wings like me. You see, there are these guys, the Lords of Chaos and Order. My friend, Dr. Fate works for the Lords of Order. The Lords of Chaos and the Lords of Order are eternal enemies, but T'Charr of the Lords of Chaos and Terataya of the Lords of Order fell in love and chose Hank and Don to be their avatars. Hank's a hothead while Don's a pacifist. So, they're always arguing.

. . .

I was watching a movie about Egypt. It's called Gods of Egypt. It made me think about Chay-Ara. Every time I go to sleep, I dream about seeing her again. I also think about how we die. We were killed by Hath-Set... but at least he's gone!

Anton Hastor's POV:

As I was working on an experiment, I turned the TV on, and I saw a news report about Hawkman. There was something familiar about him and... then I started getting flashes! I then fell to the ground. I then attempted to pick myself up and then I looked at the news report and... "Khufu!"
