Chapter 9: Forbidden:
Dream:
I returned to the palace where I saw my parents, sitting on their thrones. My Father was glaring at me.
"Is there a problem," I asked.
"Khufu, we are glad you and Chay-Ara have been helping others," says Mother, "you two have been great heroes, but..."
"We did not think your partnership would go... further," says Father.
"What do you mean," I asked.
"Hath-Set told us about you and Chay-Ara," says Father, "is this how you discovered your wings in the first place?"
"You believed Hath-Set over your son," I asked.
"You did not even say your defense," says Father. I then looked down. "So, it is true! She is a priestess!"
"We're in love," I said, "did Hath-Set also tell you about how he tried to grab her?"
They looked at him. "No, he left that part out," says Father.
"He's just trying to hide how dishonor," says Father.
"Khufu, you are not to see her again," says Father.
I then flew off.
. . .
Chay-Ara had a similar conversation with her parents. "Hath-Set is slime," says Chay-Ara.
"Khufu is of royalty and we are not to be friendly with them of that way," says Nabu, Chay-Ara's Father.
"We do believe you about Hath-Set," says Hehet, Chay-Ara's Mother.
"And we will have a talk with him," says Father, "but right now, I'm afraid you cannot see Khufu again!"
Chay-Ara then flew off.
. . .
I was standing on the roof. "Khufu, are you alright," asks Apries.
"No, I am not," I said.
"I think you should stay with Chay-Ara," says Apries, "you two were meant for each other. The wings are proof of it!"
"Why are you being supportive," I asked.
Apries then looks at Nitetis. "I have my reasons."
"Thank you, Little Brother," I said. I then flew away.
