Excuse me for the extra chapter, it was a mistake.I was trying to fix some things in the third chapter and it duplicated so I hope you could forgive me for that. Some of you might've read the reviews for this and say I already apologized there and that there's no need to apologize again. But some of you don't have the app and can't read the reviews so this is an apology for the guests.Hope you enjoy this chapter! Also, prepare for more Bowser angst.Or not.
It had been two days since we kidnapped Peach,or...who we thought was Peach.Turns out it was just that stupid Ravioli breath's brother, Luigi.
I mean, how were we supposed to know that he would dress up like exactly like Peach?Ludwig did say he heard him speak that weird gibberish the Mario bros. speak but I'm pretty sure he was just saying that to make himself seem smarter.
He always acts like he's in charge because he's the eldest but we didn't even vote on who'd be leader!Well, by we I mean the other Koopalings because I'm the newest in the group and nominating a leader would be at the beginning of the group. But that's basically the same thing.
Anyway, I'm currently walking to the guy's room and trying not to get caught because Papa said I wasn't to disturb Linguini so I have to be sneaky.I heard a few footsteps on my way here so I hid. It was a false alarm and was actually just Sir Martello, one of Papa's army generals.
Haha!I'm such a good hider that he even tumbled backwards when I pounced on him!You should've seen the look on his one-eyed face!Apparently, he lost his one eye during an epic battle won long ago, but that just makes it even cooler!
Some people think it makes him look digusting, but they don't know what his story is so they don't count.Oof!
I fall backwards after accidentally walking into something.I shake my head to gain focus and look up to see that Iggy is standing right in front of me, back turned.
"What're you-?," was all I manage to say before he crouches down quickly and covers my mouth with his hand, his pointer finger on his lips.
He looks back at who knows what and sighs in relief."I'm waiting for King Dad to go so I can interrogate Italian Peach.Don't tell anyone, got it?," he whispers.
I nod my head 'yes' and he takes his hand off my mouth."Good!,"he exclaims quietly, turning back towards the door of Linguini from a potted piranha plant that I didn't see before.
Then, the door opens and papa comes out, his head still in the room and talking to the plumber.I hear Iggy scoff and though I can't see it, I know he rolled his eyes.
Papa and Linguini talk for a moment which I can't understand, but after that moment finishes, Papa closes the door and starts walking down the hallway.
Both of us ducked behind the piranha plant,Iggy using his hair to cover his face and me retreating into my shell.Papa walks right past us, not even batting an eye, or whatever the correct saying is.
I feel Iggy knock on my shell."Hey!I'm not a door!," I yell, coming out of my shell."It wasn't even that hard!Besides, we can go interrogate Mr. Mustache now!," Iggy reminded before dragging me to the door with a bold, pink P on it in a white circle, by the wrist.
Fortunately for us, it was unlocked and easy enough for Iggy to open but not me, like that mattered anyway. We entered the room where the plumber dressed in pink was.Well, we thought he would be dressed in Auntie Peach's gown.
Instead of a flowing pink ballgown, he wore his very own iconic green attire.Linguini sat at a desk on the right-side of the room, writing something in concentration.
Both me and Iggy stood there in confusion, staring at him like he would give us answers for what he was doing.
I think he felt us staring at him by the way he was staring his page. After a few moments, he finally looked up to see us.
"Oh!Hey Junior!Hey Iggy!Do you need help with anything?,"he waved at us with a warm smile on his face.
Iggy stomped forward angrily, clearly thinking that Luigi was trying to make a fool of ourselves.Once in front of the human, he jabbed his finger into Linguini's chest and started to interrogated him.
"I'm pretty sure you're not an idiot like Ravioli breath so why don't you cut the act and tell us why-!"
But not before getting his monologue immediately interrupted by a coughing fit from Linguini.
I stepped forward because I felt awkward just standing at the door while the chat was inside.
"I-I'm sorry!W-what were you going to a-ask me,Bambino?,"Linguini said, recovering quickly his little coughing conundrum.
"Umm.Well...,"Iggy tried to spare some time for himself to change his mental script he had planned out.He always had one, and you could tell when he was changing one.
Iggy cleared his throat, he was ready. "We wanted to ask you a few questions...but you clearly aren't in the right condition to answer-," he said before he was interrupted by someone who we wanted to see the least in that moment.
"Didn't I tell ya kids to not bother the human?," I heard from the doorway of the room. Both me and Iggy turn to see Papa leaning on the doorframe with his arms crossed and a unamused look on his face.
Then, something I didn't expect from Mario's brother happened. "Don't worry Bowser. They weren't bothering me at all!," Linguini assured, causing a surprised reaction from Iggy.
Papa didn't notice him, judging from his reaction. "I can take them to their personal chambers to get grounded for rebelling against my orders," Papa offered, I hoped hard that Linguini wouldn't take the offer.
"Oh,it's fine. They were just curious.Kids do things out of curiosity, especially things they aren't suppose to," he pointed out.I eternally thanked him because I did not want to be grounded for a month because of this...like last time.
"Are you sure?I can take them away from you if you so they won't bother you,"Papa insisted, worrying me and Iggy. "It's fine, really! You don't need to do anything,"Linguini assured.
Then he coughed, not a coughing fit, just a cough.Papa straighten up in surprise and then motioned Iggy to come closer. He did and Papa kneeled down on one knee.
"Take you and Junior to your room and stay in there until further notice, understand?," he instructed, motioning to our shared bedroom with Larry.
Iggy tried to argue, but decided it wasn't worth getting into more trouble than he already was.
So we moseyed to our room and waited for Papa.
Bowser locked the door after his children had left. Who did they think they were for disobeying him!If it was for revenge on Mario not involving Luigi, then sure he would've let it slip.
Not that saw the green clad as more than an acquaintance at best. It's just that the guy had enough to deal with, like being sick and...
And...
Okay, the only problem he had was being sick. But still! You don't go bothering sick people when they're, well, sick.
Well, they were just kids, and like Luigi said, their curiosity gets the better of them easily. Like when he was a kid.
Technically he still was because flamékoopas are only full grown by 45, but he's a king and that forced him be more mature than most his age.
Psh. Immature peers. Who weren't cheated out of their... childhood...
...
...
Moving on.
Bowser realized that he was facing the door too long so he finally turned around, only to see that Luigi was a few feet away from him, an arm outstretched.
Was he... trying to comfort him? Why was his enemy's brother trying to comfort him? Scratch that, why was the green clad trying to touch him all the time?
Sure, he didn't mind. But he was sure - No! Set on believing that Luigi thought of him as a tyrant that had no sympathy whatsoever.
"Are you alright, Bowsy? You were staring at the door for a while and you weren't responding," he clarified in a worry tone.
Shoot! He's suspicious! Act casual! Wait, why am I acting like this?
"Sorry 'bout that! I was just thinking about the... er... the amount of paperwork I'm going to have to do tomorrow.Yeah! Totally not... something else, like me having a crush on you or anything!," he elucidated nervously, straigjtening his posture, then laughing to try and sell his lie without looking suspicious.
If Luigi wasn't that naive, then it totally would've failed miserably. Luckily he was. Or maybe he didn't think that Bowser would have those types of feelings for him and denied any thoughts that said so.
They stood there in painfully awkward silence, accidentally having a staring competition to go with it. Bowser made an attempt to break the silence. Key word there is 'attempt'.
"So...um.. nice weather we're having today, isn't it?," he tried. Why was he so nervous right now? He was hit hard with the sensation of deja vu.
He was also feeling this yesterday, but less whatever this emotion was than now. What was this tenderness feeling he got anyway? And, why did it come around when he was around Luigi.
"Is it?I didn't get a chance to look outside today so I wouldn't know," the man in green replied with a tint of confusion.
The flamékoopa glanced at the window and saw that it was about to rain any moment now, judging by the dark clouds in the sky.
"Well, you can tell I haven't either because I'm pretty sure it's about to rain really hard any moment now," he joked, not expecting a response for that.
Luigi chuckled a little, surprising Bowser while doing so ."Snow joke that it'll be a storm in a teacup today!," the human quipped. It was now Bowser's turn to laugh, even though these were terrible.
The two then did multiple puns in a row. So many puns that it would put dads to shame. Then,it did actual start raining and since the only window in the room didn't have any glass, the duo became cold.
"What 'bout we go to my library? There's a fireplace and plenty of space in there," Bowser suggested, grabbing the knob of the door and twisting it.
"That sounds like a lovely-," he managed to say before tripping on his foot and falling to the floor. Almost...
Instincts took over Bowser before he realized he held Luigi in "the dip" position you would do when dancing with your romantic partner at a ball. He didn't even know how it happened. It just... happened!
The flamékoopa king lowered the leg he was holding slowly to help the human stabilize properly and removed his hand. His other hand was kept on the italian's lower back however,to guide him through the castle to the library.
"Um..."
"H-how about we go to that li-library now?"
"Yeah, let's."
And so, Bowser and Luigi navigated the way to the luxurious library we saw in the last chapter. When they arrived, Bowser took his hand away from the green clad's lower back and heaved open the great doors.
The human mentioned was awestruck by the size of it, even dropping the blankets and pillows they had brought on their way there.
"Woah," was all he said, picking up the bedding and staring back at the book chamber. Bowser saw this as amusing. And kinda adorable.
Then he realized he was staring at this cute and dashing guy. And that he thought of him as cute and dashing even though this was his enemy's brother.
His grace shook his head to try and clear these thoughts from his head. This didn't work so he attempted to distract himself.
He unconsciously slipped his hand onto Luigi's waist, which he noticed right away. "Uh, Bowsy. Your hand?," he pointed out, making Bowser retract his hand.
"Sorry. Don't know what got into me there," he apologized. Now he felt like himself. Maybe that thing he was feeling earlier was just the cold or something like that.
"I-it's fine!," he responded, "I do that sometimes t-too! Not put my hand on my friend's waist's, but something of the sorts."
Bowser grinned, comforted by the plumber's response. Then, he moved his head in a motion to signal that he wanted to actually go into the library instead of staying in the doorway.
Luigi saw this and nodded, sauntering to the fireplace. Bowser pushed the doors closed, making them creak thunderously so that if someone were to be down the hallway, they would hear it.
The flamékoopa strided across the chamber, sitting by the fireplace next to Luigi. The human gave him a warm smile and offered him a blanket. The feeling came again, like a stampede of toxa-goombas, when he touched the smaller guy's hand to grab the enlongated piece of fabric.
"Thanks," he, well, thanked. What else is there to say that isn't "thanked"? "Sure, no problem! It's your bedding after all," he retorted playfully, giving Bowser a warm and cute smile.
Okay! This was definitely going the wrong way! This was going through a romance plot instead of a-friend-is-sick-and-I-want-to-take- care-of-them plot! I mean, Bowser did only let him stay for the time being because the plumber was sick.Well, the reason for that was because he didn't make sure his kids were at the castle until, like, an hour later? He wasn't really sure.
There definitely wasn't any other reason for him to keep Luigi around! Nope! None at all! He was definitely sure about that! How dare you if you thought otherwise! He was a king! Why would he fall in love with his enemy's brother? That would be ridiculous!Totally ridiculous!
Sure, Luigi was good with sports and had people from New Donk City chasing him everytime he visited the place. There were so many of them that he called them "Luigi girls" And no, he hadn't remembered because he liked Luigi like that. He only remembered because they were just friends.Nothing more, nothing less.
For some reason that broke his heart a little.
The moment after, he felt something fall onto his leg, so he turned his head quickly ,only to see that it was Luigi.A tiny blush spread across his face when he saw the green lad sleeping on him.
This.. was still them being friends.
Right?
Despite his consistent fight with himself on them being friends-
(Hey!)
(What is even the problem?!)
(I'm pretty sure you're implying something there. Unlike the other Bowsers, I'm not dumb so how 'bout you stop giving the reader the wrong idea?)
The author sighs at his denial and ignores him.
Ahem* Let's try this again and hope there aren't any interruptions this time.
(Oh, don't you dare, Wy- !!!)
Despite this internal war with himself, he draped his hand over the smaller guy's torso, rubbing his small-to-scale side with his thumb. The guy mentioned clearly liked it, assuming that sigh of pleasure was actual made due to him being pleasured.
Bowser's action caused the green lad to shift backwards into the flamékoopa, probably attracted to his warmth like a dragon is to jewels.
The plumber rested his hand palm-up on the koopa's leg next to his head calmly. The blush that was originally only tiny spread across his whole muzzle now.
The flamékoopa tried to take his hand back, but Luigi grabbed it and put it back over his torso. "What?," he asked in a playful, flirty tone. It was probably just Bowser misjudging the way it was said, not an actual flirty tone of voice. "Getting shy on me now?," he teased, rubbing the top of Bowser's hand with an even more flirtatious smile on his face.
Is it just me or is it getting hot in here?
Luigi tilted his head back, revealing that his eyes were glowing white with no pupil nor iris. It kinda looked like Luigi when he was hypnotized by Natasia that one time.
The green lad closed his eyes then grunted, sitting up while he slipped a hand onto his forehead. This caused Bowser's hand to slide downwards without the both of them realizing. The smaller guy coughed into his fist.
"I'm sorry. What were we talking about?," he asked, trying to ease the sudden headache he had. "Um...we weren't really talking about anything in particular. But your eyes! They were glowing white! Has that happened before?," he responded with worry in his tone.
Of course that's happened before, you idiot! You've literally witnessed it!
Then he realized where he saw it from. "Wait.. Can you still turn into Mr.L?," he question, provoking a shocked expression from Luigi.
"H-how did you know I was Mr.L?,"he questioned back, turning around to face Bowser with a slight tinge of betrayal in his eyes. The flamékoopa mentioned stared back into them with his own velvet ones, puzzled.
"Well, I fought Count Bleck with you so I saw you transform into Mr.L first hand. My intuition said that you and him were the same person and it's almost never wrong," Bowser explained, befuddled a little by Luigi's question.
"Oh," Luigi stated, embarrassed. "I.. kinda thought you somehow got ahold of my diary. I mean, not even my brother nor Peach know me and Mr.L are the same person so I presumed that that would be the case," the green lad avowed, laughing to hide his embarrassment of his assumption.
The flamékoopa raised an eyebrow, "Your brother doesn't know you're Mr.L?," he responded, surprised with a hint of worry.
Luigi took a minute to answer. "Well...er... No?," he obviously lied, arousing Bowser's suspicions. His grace folded his arms across his chest, tilted his head to the side and smirked a knowing smirk, like a parent when their child tries to get away with something not too serious.
It did fit him because he was a father of eight. He noticed Luigi suddenly get red in the face as he looked away. In retaliation, he lunged forward and lifted Luigi's chin with his claw so that he could stare into those blue sapphires for longer.
Silence hung in the air for a moment or two before Bowser realized the position they were in. He pulled his claw back quickly and Luigi fell backwards. "Omph!," was the only thing that left his mouth.
The flamékoopa jumped backwards to get out of the position they were in. "Sorry!," the colossal turtle yelped, his voice cracking. The green lad stared at him, befuddled. One could tell that he didn't expect a 9ft tall turtle -dragon to have its voice crack mid-sentence.
The smaller creature snorted at the sight in front of him. Which turned into a chuckle. Then that turned into a laughing fit. He clenched his stomach with his forearms as he fell backwards.
Bowser joined in after he realized the situation they were in.The rest of the night, they stayed in the library and kept eachother's company until they both fell asleep with Bowser's head on Luigi's lap.
Daisy and Mario made their way home after their search for Luigi made them lost in the forest. They had to fight a giant goomba that called himself a "king" without any subjects to rule over.
Kinda Narcissistic if you were to ask Mario. The red plumber made his way to the couch and flopped onto it with a frustrated moan.
Daisy, on the other hand, barely even made it into the house and collapsed onto the circular carpet behind the couch.
"Hey, Mario?," Daisy called tiredly. Mario sat up and answered, "Yeah, Daisy?," before flopping onto the couch again from exhaustion.
"Could you check the house?Luigi could've came home while we were searching for him," she asked, face buried in the soft carpet.
"Why don't you do it?," he replied, rolling over to grab the biscuit that they didn't bother to put away on Friday for some reason. He couldn't reach so he gave up trying.
"You're the one who's an adventurer so you should be use to this stuff," Daisy retorted, lifting her head a little. Mario grunted as he sat up again. "Fine!," he scoffed, stomping to the stairs. "But don't expect me to do it next time!"
He ascended the steps to Luigi's room and low and behold, the door was just like they left it. Open.
Still, he looked inside and didn't find his brother. Then he proceeded to search the house like they had done Friday evening, getting more and more worried as he progressed.
"I've looked everywhere, yet I can't find him! Where could he have gone?," the heroic plumber pondered aloud.
Daisy had made her way to the couch while Mario seeked and was currently sleeping peacefully. He couldn't help but smile at this.
The plumber went to the cupboard that kept their bedding and pulled out two blankets and a pillow. He laid the one blanket on Daisy, threw the pillow onto the carpet and slept on the floor. Sometimes the floor is more comfy than a bed, alright?
And that's it for this chapter! And it only took me like a month to do so!Yay!If you don't mind, could you check my profile if you play Cookie Run:Puzzle World? You'll understand once you've read it.I've recently had a hyper fixation on the game and need friends.Sorry if you find ads for things annoying - Actually, no.
