Miles sipped his blueberry banana smoothie, "This is really good," he reached for another chip. Miguel nodded, acknowledging the comment, but more focused on the wall as he ate his chicken strips.
There was a bit of silence before Miles spoke again, "So…how long have you used those?"
Mig shuffled a little in his seat, "Like…six or seven months now."
"You mumble a lot."
The giant sighed, "Six months or so. What about you?"
Miles' winced, "A year or so. When I first started being a spider-man I would be fighting and stuff, and it would take longer than expected. So I wouldn't always make it." he rubbed his shoulder, a small blush across his nose and cheeks, "My mom and dad took it out of proportions though."
"How so?"
"I had to go to the doctor first, and of course he said there was nothing wrong with me. Then I got grounded each time mom had to do an extra load. After being grounded twice they made me wear the pull ups," he whispered that word.
"After that I had to go to a therapist who told them that I was doing it because of something psychological," he shrugged in confusion, "Something about craving their attention or childlike care to cope with the loss of uncle Aaron. I don't know, whatever psychobabble she said. I mean…I didn't get in trouble any more. Unless I took them off."
"How many times did you take them off?" Miguel smirked, because he knew he did it at least once.
Miles' shoulders slumped, "Like…3 or 4 times. I only had an accident one of those times though. But Mami didn't want to hear it. I got in so much trouble for that," he groaned, "But, it hasn't been all bad. At least I'm not constantly washing my suit, or getting a rash. And the attention hasn't been bad."
"Did you want their attention?"
"I didn't want it like that. Like I wasn't wetting myself for it, that's extreme. But, I do really enjoy it," the teen had to admit, "It's nice, y'know. It's weird, feeling like a little boy. But I do like it."
"If you like it, that's important right?"
"It's kinda embarrassing when your parents start giving you baths and taking you to build-a-bear when you're my age."
"What's that?"
"A teddy bear shop where you choose your toy, name it and whisper a dream in it," the look of awe on the teen's face as he recounted his trip there, "It's awesome."
"That…sounds pretty cool actually."
He nodded, "What about you? Is Jess your mom?"
Miguel gave him a confused look, "That's a weird question. She's only like 3 years older than me, how can she be my mom?"
"She's always acting like your mom. I mean, she acts like everyone's mom, but more so to you. And you're always over her house, aren't you?"
That statement caught 2099 off guard. He paused for a long time to think about what the kid just said.
The look in Miguel's face read like a blue screen. Miles figured he'd ask a different question to restart him, "Do you wear those for patrolling?"
"Mostly."
"Mostly?"
"The…experiments that made me a spider-man used to make me…unable to control myself. It would usually happen in my sleep, but sometimes when I was awake. But it doesn't happen anymore. I just keep them on because I never know when I'll have to play hero," he quickly explained the last part.
"Well, I guess I'm not as embarrassed about it anymore," he gave him a smile, before getting back to his smoothie.
"[You don't need to be changed, do you?]"
"[I changed when we got in here,]" the teen muttered.

After a filling meal both spider-men returned to HQ. Now 2099 could see what Peter was taunting him about.
He hurried to the quiet room, knocking before just barging in. Didn't want to interrupt anything. The door opened to Peter's goofy smile.
"Ah, look who's back. Did you and Miles have fun? See you changed into your lounge wear."
"My suit is damaged. What's the surprise?" He looked over Peter's head into the room. It didn't seem any different.
"Come in and see," Pete pulled him in, quickly closing the door and tugging at the back of his friend's sweatpants.
"I already changed," Miguel almost whispered.
"Ok, sorry," Peter released him, "Look in the drawers."
2099 quickly bent down, pulling the drawer out. There were some boxes in there. Legos, puzzles and stuff. He checked another drawer and found crayons and coloring books.
"See, we got you a new lego set for being so helpful," Pete rubbed his hair.
"Thank you," he immediately sat, opening his new Bonsai tree set.
Peter chuckled to himself as his friend went right for it, "Now you know why you had to wait until you were done working."
Mig didn't respond as he gave the toy his entire attention.
"I'll take your suit to your office for you," he took the wet nap out of the bag, tossing it in the machine before giving Lyla the suit to repair, however she did.
