"We went over schedule," Jess pulled up to the apartment, "But it was worth it."

"Yeah, I'm happy I got Jefferson something at the restaurant. I am not cooking," Rio unbuckled herself and climbed from the front, grabbing her food, "We're home Mijo."

"Hes asleep," Miguel informed her, pulling the teen from the car in one arm and taking her bag in the other hand, "I'll take it for you."

"You're so helpful, thank you," she rubbed his arm.

The group could hear the quiet commotion as they neared the Morales/Davis door.

"You like that!?"

Jess raised her brows, hearing her husband. This had mischief written all over it, "We should make sure your home is still standing."

A loud thud and groaning.

Rio quickly unlocked the door, "It better be, or I'm going to one life insurance policy heavier."

Inside the home the two men were shirtless, sweating and out of breath. Virgil groaning from the ground and Jeff leaning on the couch as the baby babbled in his pen, waving his arms about.

"Uhm," Jess pushed Miguel outside for a moment, "What is going on here, and why was I not invited?"

"Babe," Virgil called from the ground, "You won't believe this."

"I already don't."

"We were watching wrestling, right? Everything was going well. Then his fighter lost and he got upset. I pointed out how he could have won earlier, but he wasn't trying to be super disrespectful in the fight."

Jeff tried to pull himself to sit.

"Next thing I know he tells me that my hair is stupid and I need a retwist."

"Why are you lying!?" The cop scoffed.

"I'm paraphrasing!" Virgil proceeded, "Then it commulated in us reenacting the fight, with me telling him to show me how he would have won. I pinned him, he wouldn't relent. He pinned me, but I wasn't going down. So we decided whoever gets pinned 3 times loses."

Rio tried not to laugh at how exhausted her husband clearly was.

"In his defense, it is time you had a retwist," Jess teased, "What round were y'all on?"

"Four," Jeff commented, "Tied."

"If you both want to continue, I can get the baby oil," Rio suggested, getting an eye roll from her husband, a set of raised eyebrows from Virgil and a laugh from Jess. And Miguel too, since he was eavesdropping outside the door.

"I'll just be the bigger man and say he won," Virgil wiped his forehead and pulled his shirt back on, "But don't be slacking next time, homie."

"I just didn't want to embarrass you in front of your baby, is all," Jeff chuckled, grabbing his shirt, "Where's Miles?"

"Oh," Rio opened the door, letting Miguel back in, "We had a very good time. He's all worn out."

"Me and him both," he took his son from the giant while Rio took the food.

"We're gonna head back ourselves now," Virgil folded up the pen as his wife took the baby, "I see a wonderful friendship brewing."

"You said it," Jeff shook his hand again, "I'm holding you to that arcade trip."

"That's non-negotiable. I don't want no excuses," he shook his head.

"I can't wait for us to get together again soon. Next time we'll leave all the boys to play and have us a girl's day," Jess told her new friend.

"Absolutely. Message me when you get home."

"Will do."

Each family gave their goodbyes before parting.

"Did you have fun?"Jess laughed at her husband.

"He body slammed the F - × - C - K out of me, but yeah. Real good time," he nodded, "What about you guys? Did my boy have fun?"

"I had a lot of fun. We went to an art museum and I had to draw and take notes on some of the displays that I like. I really liked the weapons area."

"Ok, tell me about it," he fell into the passenger seat.

"Miguel was a very good boy today," she informed her husband.

"Of course he was. Our boys are always good, right Bubba?"

Mig smiled, nodding at the question.

"Got you some food babe."

"Thank goodness," he sighed, "keep telling me about the exhibits," he covered a yawn as they drove through the portal.

"Jess?"

"Yea, Boo?"

"What's f×ck?"

"A word that should neither be said by or around my little boys," she slapped her husband's leg.

That didn't answer his question like he wanted, but he figured it best to continue telling daddy about the museum.

"Did you have a good day?" Jess was finally on to giving Miggy his bath, after getting GG to bed and running an Epson salt bath for hubby.

He nodded, watching one of his toys swim by.

"Favorite part? Let me guess, your empanadas?" She grinned at the loud, happy noise he made at the remembrance, "I figured you enjoyed your meal."

"Did you have fun?" Mig raised his head for her to wash his neck.

"I had a wonderful time. My boys all had fun and got to enjoy friends. I'm making a new friend, my day was dandy."

Mig leaned into her chest, "I'm happy you had fun too."

With bathtime handled, Jess finished lotioning and dressing Miguel for bed and reading him a story before getting herself showered and in bed next to her husband.

She sighed deeply, deciding to read before finally getting some sleep. Reading a few chapters of her latest thriller, she heard movement.

"Jess?" Miguel whispered from the door.

"What's up, boo? It's time for bed. Do you need another hug?"

A quiet nod.

"Ok, come get a hug so you can go night night," she opened her arms. He scurried over, leaning down to get a second hug and goodnight kiss, "Now go to bed."

He held her a bit longer, before nodding, "I love you."

Jess' heart swelled hearing that, "Love you too, Pumpkin."
