Miles watched between Jess and Virg as they alternated jogging and running. They were saying something or other in German, having a conversation. Probably planning the day. He could kinda see the annoyance Hobie had when he spoke Spanish to anyone around him.

"Will Miguel be back today?"

"Hm?" Jess turned, "Oh, yes, Lyla sent a message, he'll probably be home when we get back."

"Are we still doing something fun?"

"Absolutely. After breakfast we are going to go out for a drive," Virgil confirmed, "You and I are going to have fun, and Jessie is going to go do whatever she's going to do with the other kids and we'll see them later."

He nodded, continuing to push the stroller.

Gunner smiled up at him, chewing his teething ring and waving, "Hi!"

"Hi, GG," he waved down, smiling back at him.

Virgil ended up turning back home after the fifteen mile mark, leaving the other two to continue jogging to their heart's content. Him, his baby and their human/ half human stamina were going back home to rest before the rest of the day started.

"I'm surprised you didn't want to go back with him to see what he was making for breakfast," Jess teased.

"Well, I figured he would probably take a shower or something before breakfast. He's gonna make us some anyway, right?"

"Oh, of course."

X

"We have returned," Jess called out.

"Is Tio back?" Miles set his shoes at the door, "Did you make breakfast yet? Can I help?"

"Welcome back. Yep, he is here and he is very asleep. I have already made pancakes, so go ahead and wash your hands."

"Ok," he hurried to wash them in the kitchen before diving to the table.

"Smoothie or juice?"

"Ohh, can I have a smoothie please?"

"Yep," he nodded, pouring him some in his koala sippy cup and pouring Jess some in a glass, "Your son was ko'd in the tub."

"Were you able to get him out or do I have to?"

"I got him out."

"Bye sweetheart," Virg gave his woman and toddler smooch, "Bye stink butt. Be nice to mommy for once or I'm gonna steal her away!"

Gunner hugged Jess' leg tight, "No! Mommy!" he shouted in a possessive manner.

"She was mine before she was yours and I'll take her back," he stuck his tongue out getting the gesture reflected back at him, "Ok, come on, Sunshine, say bye to Jessie."

Miles waved as they hurried out the door, "Bye Aunty, bye GG."

"Have fun guys."

"Where are we going?" Miles quickly climbed in the passenger seat, "Is it somewhere fun?"

"Yep," V fastened his seatbelt for him before hopping in the driver's seat, "I think you're going to have good fun when we get there."

The teen bounced in his seat, wondering where they were going. He kinda hoped it was another playground. Or a museum. It was always really fun whenever those two picked somewhere to go.

"How has your school life been? Are you on summer vacation now?"

"Uh…yeah, it started a little over a week ago."

"Any ideas for something fun to do?"

"I mean, hanging out with you and Aunty is always a lot of fun. I get to dance with GG and play trains and dragon wars with Miguel. I know Hobie is having a concert in July that we're all going to."

After a little encouragement Miles was far more talkative. Virgil nodded, giving ideas and input as well on what could possibly be done during his summer months so he could get the most out of it.

Slowly Virgil breached the subject of him and his hero life. Asking if he was still feigning after Gwen and just a few other questions.

"Hey," the older man noticed that one question in regards to his regression had made him disassociate.

"Uh, yeah?"

"Have you driven yet? Because I'm pretty sure, legally speaking, as a cop, you're dad can't let you drive the cruiser."

The teen laughed, "Not really. I mean, I took driver's ed. I have my permit."

"You want to drive?"

Miles stared, eyes wide, "Really? Can I?"

V pulled over, unbuckling himself and climbing out, "I have insurance and I'm in the parent fund so. I mean, don't purposely crash my car, but show me what you got."

He squealed, hurrying over. He made sure that he adjusted the mirrors and the seat, "I have to make sure that I can see. Check all my lights and stuff. Oh! I have to check my oil!"

"Nah," he stopped him before he popped the hood, "Car is hot and the oil is fine. But I'll let you check that later. When you're comfy, you go ahead and I'll be the GPS."

Miles was ecstatic as they drove, happily getting to the field in one piece and without being pulled over.

"Good job, kiddo," Static clapped proudly, getting out of the car and giving him a high five.

Miles hugged him, still giddy about getting to drive, "Did I do good?"

"You did such a good job, man. I think you're pulling my leg on not doing it much," he teased, watching the boy's grin grow wider and wider, "Ready to try some new things?"

The teen looked at his hands and the electricity flickering off of them, "Yeah, show me what you can do."

"Ok, we'll test it out. Try not to hurt me," he smiled.

X

Miles wiped the sweat from his brow, watching as his mentor floated above him, "I don't think I can do that. But I still have my webs."

"We're just testing and seeing what you can do," he put his feet on the ground, "Are you ready for a break?"

He shook his head, "Please, can you show me how to make a sword again? I think I can do it this time."

"How about we try that again later. I want you to work on your electric discharges and absorption."

"Please, just one more try?" Miles began to fuss, but relented when felt his chin being cupped.

"You're doing so good, Sunshine. Real good. But if you overexert yourself you're gonna burn out," Virgil smiled warmly down at him, "We're going to take a short break and revisit it. Now, do you want to drive back, or are you too tired? If you're tired you can drive again after a nap."

Miles swayed his arms from side to side, looking at the ground, "You promise you'll show me later how to do the sword?"

"Promise, kiddo."

"And let me drive?"

"Yep."

"Ok, I guess I can take a break."
