Here's the next chapter of the Clone Underground Resistance I've been working on. In this chapter, the clones will try and get themselves a frigate for them to use. Plus, we'll be meeting some new clones. Hope you all enjoy this one.
A few days have passed since the secret meeting between Riyo Chuchi and Avi Singh. After Rex accepts Chuchi's offer by helping to fund his underground network. They been receiving supplies with the help of Trace Martez who been using her repair shop to smuggle the supplies she received from Senator Chuchi, anonymously.
Rex visited Desmond and the injured clone several times to see how things were doing. Rex walked out from the medical room only to find Nemec waiting for him "Rex…" Nemec saluted.
"What's up Nemec?" Rex asked.
"Howzer and Echo has called for a meeting. That woman Trace is here." Nemec told him.
"What does Trace want?"
"She said she found a ship for us to use as our command ship. Now Senator Chuchi is funding the network. She said that every organization needs to have their own command ship." Nemec explained as he continues "Echo and Howzer setting up a briefing for it."
"I don't like the sound of that." Rex sounds cautious before sighing "Well, let's hear what she has to say."
Rex and Nemec entered a large room. Inside are all the clone operatives either sitting or standing in the room. Bozo sitting by with Samson and Stonewall. Greer standing by with some of the new clones who joined their underground network. Echo and Trace are together, discussing something. Nemec takes a seat beside Fireball as Rex joined with Howzer, Gregor, and Slip by the hologram command center for the meeting.
"I heard from Nemec that Trace found us a ship to use. Is that true?" Rex asked them.
"Yeah, she's going to explained to us where it is though." Slip replied as Howzer looked concern "And I have a bad feeling it's not going to be easy to get." Said Howzer folding his arms.
"Let's hear what she has to say first, before jumping to any conclusions." Rex told him.
Echo then walked up to the command center hologram "Alright, let's get this briefing started." Said Echo starting the meeting "As you all know Senator Chuchi and Senator Singh had agreed to fund our network. However, a command ship is something we do not have. Which is the reason why Trace wants to discuss with." Echo turned to Trace "You have the floor."
Trace walked up to the command center consoles "I receive info from a close contact. They found a ship that would be perfect for ya. A ship I'm sure you're all familiar with." Said Trace as she plugged in a device and pull up a hologram.
It shows a hologram of a frigate with four turret-mounted heavy cannons, a forward-mounted twin light laser cannon, and dorsal turret-mounted quad laser cannon. With three sublight engines. The clones look at it in surprise "That's a Consular-class cruiser." Said one of the clones.
"That's not just a Consular-class frigate. That's a Charger C70 Combat Refit." Said Bozo who recognize the ship "I thought they been decommissioned."
"They were. After the Clone War and the Fall of the Republic. The Empire had these ships decommission." Trace explained before switching the hologram to a planet "My contact found one of these frigates on one of the junkyard planets that are in service with the Empire. Scheduled to be scrapped. Which is why I brought this information with me."
"You want us to go where this ship is and steal it. Is that about, right?" Rex asked Trace.
"You got that right, boss man."
"I don't know about this, in all honesty." Howzer spoke out "The place where it's stored at is secured. It'll be full of security. It's risky."
"I agree. This is more like a suicide mission." Rex agreed.
"I understand your concern. But with this ship, you'll able to do more than just simple hit and run." Said Trace.
"I agree with her. All we have are a few Rho-class shuttles and the Remora. So, having a Consular-class Charger C70 Combat Refit as a command ship. It would be a great help to us." Said Echo agreeing with Trace, before continuing "But I also agree with both Rex and Howzer. Getting this ship won't be easy from the scrapyard. Which is why I think we should take a small squad to these coordinates."
"I don't know, Echo. It's risky." Rex unsure about it.
"Rex, you have to trust me on this one. We'll pull it off just like always."
Rex thinks it over. Part of him knew going on a mission to retrieve an old Republic frigate would be dangerous. However, a ship like the Charger C70 Combat Refit would be a great help. Especially against ships like the Gozanti-class cruisers. Looking back at Howzer who is having the same thoughts as him. Looked at him, giving him a nod. Rex nodded in understanding before looking back at Echo.
"Alright, Echo. I'll be giving you the authority of carrying out this mission." Said Rex agreeing to Echo's plan.
Echo gave Rex a salute "Thank you, sir." Echo thanked before looking at the rest of his clone brothers "We'll be using the Remora to get us there. It'll be a five men mission. Trace will be coming with us. I need volunteers."
Both Fireball and Nemec stood up "We'll go with you, sir." Said Nemec.
"Count me in." Bozo still up as well.
Two more clones step forward from where Greer was standing, with their arms behind them "So are we sir." Said one of the clones.
Echo looked at the two clones who would be joining them. One clone is wearing a tan-color shade with gray camouflage patterns. With a belt over his armor with pouches, a vibro-knife sheath strap to his left wrist. The clone hair is similar to all other Jango clones but with a buzzcut that curved on both sides.
The second clone has light blue paint, with a large pouch satchel slung over his chest, a vibro-knife sheath on his left wrist. Having the same hair style as every other Jango clone, but has a scar over his left eyebrow, along with facile hair.
"You two, what's your names?" Echo asked them.
The clone in the tan camouflage spoke first "Sir, name's Tenet." Tenet replied.
"And I'm Bombshell, sir." Said the clone with the light blue color armor.
"Tenet, Bombshell. I'll be looking forward to working with you all. Alright, meeting adjourn, we'll be leaving in 1100 hours. Dismiss."
With that the clones began to leave the room, while those like Fireball, Nemec, Bozo, Tenet, and Bombshell. Are getting themselves ready to leave for their mission. Echo looks back at Trace "Sorry, for dragging you into this." Echo apologizes.
"Don't apologize. Plus, I do want to screw over the Empire just as much as you do." Said Trace before continuing "I'll be at the Remora if you need me."
"I'll join you, if you're okay with company." Said Gregor.
"Not at all."
With that only Echo, Rex, and Howzer stayed behind. Rex looked at Echo "Sorry, that won't be joining you on this one Echo. Have a lot of things to do here." Rex apologized to Echo.
"Same, I would love to help take that Consular-class frigate for our cause. But…" Said Howzer.
"It's alright, I understand that this mission would be quite dangerous. But hey, we been through plenty of dangers over the years." Said Echo being optimistic.
"That we did." Rex agreed before giving Echo a stern look "Just be careful, Echo. Don't want to lose any more of our brothers."
"Don't worry, sir. Me and the lads will be fine. You have my word."
Echo started to walk out, putting his helmet on. Before long, Echo along with Fireball, Nemec, Bozo, Tenet, and Bombshell entered the Remora with Trace already inside. Rex along with Howzer, Greer, Samson, and another clone with taint brownish color Phase II armor. Walked out the monastery to watch as the Remora takes off. Heading towards its destination as it leaves off-world.
"I hope they'll be back safely." Said Rex worried.
"They'll be fine, Rex. With Echo there with them. They'll be back unscathed." Said Howzer, calming Rex worries.
"I hope you're Howzer." Said Rex before looking back up at the sky "I hope you're right." Before he along with Howzer, Greer, Samson, and the other clone walked back inside the monastery. Awaiting for their fellow clones to return.
Sorry about the whole waiting thing, everyone. Been having a writer block for the fourth chapter of the Clone Resistance story. Now the next chapter is where they'll be finding and stealing an decommission Consular-class frigate as their own command ship. Now could any of you guys give me a good name for the planet they'll be heading to steal the Consular-class? That would be awesome. Anyway, I'll try and do more chapters in the coming future.
