Chapter 69: Return To Midgard.
The view from the Rainbow Bridge is probably Sirius' favorite part of Asgard, or at least from what he's seen of Asgard; it was amazing to see space surrounding him as Sirius sat behind Loki on the back of a horse, with his arms wrapped around Loki's waist, it almost felt like being up in the night sky, it was a beautiful sight, but it still couldn't distract Sirius from his thoughts, traveling back to the conversation he and Loki had with Regulus before leaving the palace, Harry had accompanied Frigga somewhere after she requested to talk with him a moment and Kelda had gone to pack the belongings she wished to bring with her, which left Sirius and Loki alone with Regulus, who then told them about what Harry told him on his way to the infirmary earlier, and Sirius and Loki had not liked the thought of Harry's magic wanting the Aethrr back.
"I can't stop thinking about what Reggy told us," Sirius said. "About, Harry."
"We'll figure it out, darling; Harry will be fine." Loki said, "And I plan to take the Aether to my vault at Gringotts the first chance I get it."
"I know; I guess I'm just going to worry until we get a chance to talk to him," Sirius said.
"Try not to, love," Loki said.
"Easier said than done, babe," Sirius replied.
Sirius looked ahead of them where the rest of their small queue was on horses; Regulus was the one in front of them, then Frigga and Kelda rode next to each other in front of him, and Freki, Odin's giant wolf was walking next to Frigga's horse, and the raven Hugin was flying ahead of them; Harry was the only one not on a horse; instead, Harry said he would meet them at the end of the bridge. Then, before anyone could say anything, he took off running down it. Sirius was amazed at how fast he ran. For a moment, Sirius thought he was imagining things until Regulus mentioned seeing Harry run like that when they went to fetch the Phoenix tears. That caused Sirius to worry even more. The Mind Stone in Loki's scepter had changed Sirius' magic and given him a few new abilities that Sirius was still learning how to control. The Aether must have done the same to Harry. Sirius hopes he's able to handle it.
"Shouldn't we have caught up to Harry by now?" Sirius asked.
"With how fast he was running, I would not be surprised if he was already down at the end of the bridge waiting for us," Loki replied, "did you see the reddish glow coming from the bottom of his feet? It was the same color as the Aether, similar to Wanda Maximoff's magic."
"You don't think-"
"It is possible," Loki said, "That Hydra at one point had their hands on the Aether, and that it's what they experimented on Wanda and her brother with. Remember his running ability? Harry's newfound speed is similar to that, just at the moment, not as fast, and I do not believe he even realizes how fast he's going."
"Do you think Harry got any other abilities from the Aether?" Sirius asked.
"Yes." Loki said, "He's already powerful, and he inherited abilities from me similar to Wanda's, even if I haven't taught him most of them yet. I do not doubt that the Aether might have heightened or even changed those abilities. We have to wait and see."
"What Reg told us isn't all I've been thinking about," Sirius said. "I've been thinking all night about the Idunn apples sitting on our nightstand; I'm going to eat mine tonight."
"Are you sure, love?" Loki asked. He wanted Sirius to, but after hearing what happened with Sigrid, he feared he would regret it.
"Yes," Sirius said, "I've been sure since you first showed me that apple and I'm even more sure now."
"Make sure that is what you truly want before taking a bite," Loki said.
Sirius laid his head on Loki's shoulder and held him tighter. Sirius was feeling a little tired. He knew the Phoenix tears were still working because he no longer had a fever, but the palace was huge, and that was a long walk from the infirmary to the front entrance. Sirius hadn't mentioned it to Loki because Loki was worried enough about him, but his lungs aren't completely healed yet, which caused him to grow tired from his walk through the palace. It also caused him to be a bit out of breath; he did not doubt that his lungs would be healed by the end of the day, if not before. Sirius was greatly relieved when he saw the horses and realized he would not have to walk down the Rainbow Bridge.
"Reigny," Sirius said, turning his head so he could place a kiss on Loki's neck.
"Yes, darling?" Loki asked; Sirius grinned. After nearly dying, he had a new appreciation for the terms of endearment Loki calls him.
"I love you," Sirius said, placing another kiss on Loki's neck, which caused him to smile.
"And I you," Loki replied. It was rare for Loki to say he loved him; his reply was, usually I know or and I you, but that didn't bother Sirius, especially since he's the only lover Loki has ever spoken those words to, despite the fact he was once married.
Yes, Sirius found out last night that Loki once had a wife. It all came up because an Asgardian by the name of Theoric had entered the room, and Loki immediately went from being loving towards Sirius to hateful towards Theoric, who, after trying to flirt with Sirius and ignoring Loki's demands to get the hell out. Theoric had turned to Loki and called him a hypocrite, saying he could elope with someone else's betrothed, but he was ready to kill anyone who just talked to his lover. He turned back to Sirius and warned him that nothing ever good came to lovers of Loki. He would tell him to ask Sigyn if he didn't believe him, but she could no longer talk. Sirius had to use whatever energy he had regained to hold Loki back and yelled for the guards, who surprisingly did as Sirius ordered and escorted Theroic out of the room. Then Sirius let go of Loki and demanded that he explain what Theroic was talking about because he could tell from how Loki acted that it was true, and the last time he checked, eloping meant running off to get married.
Loki had sat down in the chair by Sirius' bed and stayed silent for ten minutes before answering. Loki started by apologizing and admitting he never planned to tell Sirius, then began to tell the story of his marriage to Sigyn; she had been his friend since childhood, they grew up together; she used to go on adventures with Loki, Thor, and Thor's friends, besides Thor, Sigyn had been Loki's only true friend. So, one day, when Sigyn came to Loki for help because her parents had arranged for her to marry Theroic, Loki knew he had to help her; Sigyn despised Theoric, and Loki knew he couldn't allow his good friend to live the rest of her life in a miserable marriage to a horrible husband she hated, there had been rumors Theroic could be abusive to his partners. However, Loki admitted he didn't know if that was true. Loki said he and Sigyn had only been one thousand years old at the time, considered adults, but still relatively young, and the only plan he and Sigyn could come up with was for the two of them to elope to Vanaheim because Sigyn couldn't marry Theoric if she was already married to another.
Loki said their marriage only lasted fifty years, and when Sirius asked if they had divorced, Loki answered no, Asgardian laws do not allow divorce; once you are married to someone, you're married for life, and Sirius mentioned Loki married his best friend knowing he was sacrificing ever being able to marry someone he fell in love with, Loki replied he and Sigyn enjoyed each other's company, had a lot of the same interests, found each other attractive and respected one another, which is the same reasons a lot of couples married, and even if they weren't in love, they cared deeply for each other. They were happy together despite the reason for being married. A sad look came over Loki's face when he told Sirius his marriage ended with Sigyn's death. She had been ill for quite a while before she passed, but he didn't remember from what or how long, or even much from those days, just bits and pieces. Loki believes he subconsciously blocked those memories out, so he decided to bury Sigyn's memory deep within his mind and never speak of her again, even to himself, and everyone seemed to follow his lead because Theoric was the only one who ever spoke of Sigyn, at least the only one who ever spoke of her to Loki.
Sirius decided not to be mad at Loki for never telling him of his marriage and decided that what Loki did hundreds of years before he was born wasn't his business; Sirius had never told Loki about knowing Natasha before being captured by the Avengers and feeling bad that Loki had been forced to tell him his secret, Sirius had confessed that secret to Loki, which had made him mad at first, and for a moment, Sirius thought Loki was going to go to Midgard and hunt down Natasha Romanoff. He calmed down when Sirius hugged Loki, who broke down crying in Sirius' arms, and told him how frightened he was when Loki thought he would lose him and kept repeating that he loved him. Once Loki calmed down, he pulled away from Sirius, ordered him to go back to bed and pretended he hadn't just broken down in Sirius' arms.
"I feel a bit guilty," Sirius said, "After everything yesterday, we're going to have to postpone Harry's surprise party,"
"He'll understand, love, and it'll be for just a day or two," Loki replied. "We can even give him one of his gifts."
"Yeah, we can do that, and I'll bake him a cake tonight," Sirius said.
"Don't overdo it, love; you're still healing," Loki said.
"Yes, Mother."
"Do not call me that,"
Loki had been right; when they reached the end of the bridge, Harry was already there, talking to Thor and Heimdall. Loki slid off his horse and reached up to help Sirius; he could get down alone but allowed Loki to help him anyway. At first, Sirius thought he'd be annoyed at Loki jumping to do things for him or help him when he tries to do something on his own, but, surprisingly, so far, it didn't, and Sirius decided it wouldn't be too awful to be spoiled by a royal god for a little while.
Sirius slipped his hand through Loki's, and the two walked over to the Bofrost, where Frigga was now having a conversation with Heimdall; she wore what Sirius assumed were her travel clothes, silk trousers that were golden yellow, with a matching top and cape, Kelda was dressed similarly except for silvery color trousers and a white top. Frigga also had her hair pulled back in a fancy braid decorated in pearls, but Kelda had kept hers loose, and it was sparkling as if she'd put glitter in it. Loki had told him her sad story, and due to Asgardians' longevity, orphans were extremely rare; in fact, Kelda was the only child-aged Asgardian with no parents. Sirius asked how old she was, and apparently, a child-aged Asgardian was nine hundred and ninety-four years old. Loki explained that Kelda was the Asgardian version of a teenager.
Frigga didn't talk long, and soon they were all gathering around the Bifrost, something Sirius wasn't looking forward to traveling through. He never cared for Portkeys, though he was willing to take one when need be, and he figured the Bifrost would be like a Portkey, but worse.
"The Bifrost can be a bit of a rough ride, darling, but it is not too bad," Loki said as if he had read Sirius' thoughts. "I would tell you to keep a hold of my hand, but we'll probably end up letting go anyway."
Sirius nodded and closed his eyes tightly as Heimdall stuck his sword into the Bifrost, turned it, and Sirius felt as if he had been sucked through a powerful vacuum; Loki had been right, the force had caused them to let go of one another, and the light was so bright it shunned through his eyelids. Before Sirius knew it, he was lying on the ground, breathing heavily and feeling dizzy; he made a note never to use the Bifrost again.
"Are you alright, my love?" Loki asked, holding a hand down to Sirius. He accepted his hand, and Loki pulled him to his feet. He stumbled a little, but Loki put his arm around Sirius' waist, looking concerned, as he helped Sirius stay standing.
"dizzy," Sirius said, "just give me a minute."
"That was my second and last time traveling that way," Regulus said, knocking dirt off his clothes. He, too, had landed on the ground.
"I know, it's worse than a portkey," Harry said, looking around; the Bifrost had dropped them in the empty field in the middle of nowhere.
"I agree with my brother; never again," Sirius said, and Loki chuckled.
"Where are we?" Harry asked.
"I do not know," Thor replied, "Heimdall just said he'd have the Bifrost drop us where no one would see."
"I've never been to Midgard," Kelda said. "There isn't much here."
"That's because we're out in the country," Harry said as Hugin landed on his shoulder. He reached up and stroked his feathers as Frigga walked around him to Loki and Sirius, Ferki beside her.
"Perhaps we should go to your house before someone sees us," Frigga suggested.
"I agree," Loki replied, taking Sirius's hand. "Everyone, take each other's hands, and I'll teleport us there."
He reached his other hand out and took Frigga's. She took Harry's, and Kelda slipped her hand into Harry's free one, then reached out and took Thor's. Ferki stood between Frigga and Loki, leaning against Loki's leg, and Hugin left Harry's shoulder and landed on Loki's.
"Everyone ready?"
"Yes," they all said. Green magic surrounded them, and they disappeared and reappeared outside number 12 Grimmauld Place.
"Much better way to travel," Sirius said, dropping Loki's hand; he frowned as he looked around. "Where is Reg-"
Sirius, Harry, and Kelda jumped slightly at the sound of a loud pop, and Regulus appeared in front of them.
"I can get home on my own." Regulus shrugged at Sirius' questioning look.
"Loki, sweetheart, which house is it?" Frigga asked. Sirius looked her way to see Frigga and Kelda looking around, confused. Right, the house was under the Felidus Charm. Loki grinned, stepped over to Frigga, and put one arm around her and one around Kelda.
"Mother and Kelda, look straight ahead and welcome to Number 12 Grimmauld Place, London, England," Loki said, and Kelda gasped as the house appeared out of nowhere.
"That's quite a trick," Frigga prised.
"It's called a Feildus Charm. I'll explain more later, " Loki answered, "But, right now, let's go inside."
Regulus pulled out his wand and headed toward the door; everyone followed once they reached the porch. Regulus started tapping his wand on the door. The locks clicked, and then the door popped open. With manners Sirius hadn't known his brother had, he stepped aside, so Frigga and Kelda could enter first, but that was as far as Regulus' manners went after Harry snuck through the door after Kelda, Regulus followed; Thor, Sirius, and Loki entered last. They all paused just in the door. There on the staircase were Hermione, Ginny, and Ron, dangling flesh-color strings from their ears, bending over the railing and looking suspiciously like they were eavesdropping.
"What are you doing?" Loki asked as Thor closed the door. The three teenagers stiffened at his voice, then jumped back and hid the flesh-colored string behind their backs.
"Harry!"
Hermione ran down the stairs and threw herself at Harry in a hug that nearly knocked him down.
"Where have you been?" Hermione demanded. "We've all been so worried. What happened to you? What is with all those videos of you destroying things, and what were those creatures Loki and your uncles were fighting?"
"Hermione, I can only answer one question at a time," Harry said.
"Why are you three here?" Regulus asked. Hermione looked at him, startled; Regulus didn't usually talk to Harry's friends.
"They're having an Order meeting," Hermione said.
"Let me guess, that's who you were eavesdropping on with your fake ears there." Sirius guessed.
"Yes," Hermione answered, her face turning a little pink.
"Children are naturally curious," Frigga said. She sounded amused, and Hermione looked towards her. Her eyes widened as she recognized her at once.
"Dumbledore just arrived, he's been in a meeting with the Wizengamot all morning." Ginny defended. "We just wanted to know what's going on."
"Yeah," Hermione said, "first you guys disappear, then aliens attack London with Harry, and then Voldemort attacked the Ministry and-"
"What?" Harry, Loki, and Sirius demanded.
"Voldemort and his followers attacked the Ministry yesterday." Hermione answered, "I don't know any more than that; the Order isn't saying anything; they're mostly arguing."
"Harry, mate, what happened to your hair?" Ron demanded.
"That is a long story," Harry mumbled.
"Harry, why don't you take Kelda upstairs with your friends? You can explain to them what happened yesterday while your father and I talk to Dumbledore," Loki said.
"Yes, sir," Harry said, heading towards the staircase.
"Kelda, child, go with Harry, please," Loki said. Kelda turned towards him, put her fist on her chest, and gave a slight bow, causing Hermione's eyebrows to rise.
"Yes, Your Highness," Kelda said, then followed Harry up the stairs. Ginny gave her a curious look while Ron mouthed "Your Highness" as he turned to follow, and Hermione glanced once more at Frigga before turning and heading upstairs.
"The rest of us will go speak with Dumbledore and find out what is going on," Loki said. He led them toward the kitchen. When Loki pushed open the door that led to the stairs, Hugin flew in first, then Loki and the others followed him down the stairs. When they reached the bottom, Loki pushed open the door, and they all entered individually. The Order was so caught up in arguing that no one noticed they now had company.
"I am telling you, he's done something to Sirius and Harry." Emmeline said, "Why else has none of them returned."
"You don't know that," Arthur said, "You can't just accuse the man of things you have no proof of."
"Thank you, Arthur," Loki said. Arthur jumped a little at Loki's voice, his ears turning red, and the whole kitchen went silent and turned to look at them.
"Can you stop gossiping about us long enough to explain what Hermione said about Voldemort attacking the Ministry?" Sirius demanded.
"Well, Black, there's not much to explain, The Dark Lord attacked the Ministry, and The Order had to stop him while you were off on a little vacation," Snape said, and Sirius gripped Loki's wrist so he wouldn't do anything while he glared at Snape.
"After the day I had yesterday, Snape, I wouldn't piss me off if I were you," Sirius warned; Snape scoffed and turned away from him, but most of the Order's attention was on the giant wolf standing by Frigga.
"Where's Harry?" Andromeda appeared beside Sirius, making him jump a little; he hadn't even noticed her.
"He went upstairs; he's fine, don't worry," Sirius said. Andromeda signed in relief and pulled Sirius in a hug.
"You scared me to death; I had no idea if you were on Asgard or where, and then those creatures showed up in London, and Harry was with them…I saw the video, the fight, and when you weren't there, I thought-"
"I'm fine, Ann," Sirius replied as she pulled back.
"What about me, Annie?" Regulus teased as he stepped towards her. "I was missing too."
"Of course, I was worried about my baby cousin," Andromeda said as she hugged Regulus. Then she pulled back and turned to Loki, surprising him by hugging him. "I was worried about all of you." When she pulled back, her eyes fell on Frigga. "Oh, you brought a guest," Andromeda sounded surprised. "Hello, I'm Andromeda, Sirius and Regulus' cousin." she stuck her hand out for Frigga to shake.
"Frigga," Frigga said, shaking Andromeda's hand, "Thor has spoken fondly of you."
"He has?" Andromeda asked, sounding as surprised as Sirius felt. He looked towards Thor to see him looking away from them, a slight blush on his cheeks. "It's nice to meet you. I know who you are, of course. Thor and Loki think highly of you."
"You invited someone else here without telling Dumbledore," Molly said. "You can't keep giving out headquarters location whenever you fell like it."
"I assure you, Molly, I do not need your or anyone else's permission to invite my Mother to stay at our house," Loki said.
"Your Mother?" Molly said, her eyes going to Frigga as Sirius pulled out his usual seat at the head of the table and sat down; Andromeda returned to her seat, and Regulus sat between her and an empty chair while glaring at Molly.
"That's right," Loki said. "My Mother, Thor's mother, Harry's grandmother, known throughout the realms as the Allmother and Queen of Asgard."
Thor led Frigga to an empty chair at the table and pulled it out for her to sit in, which put Frigga next to Snape. Thor took the empty seat on her other side, Hugin sat on his shoulder, and Ferki flopped down on the floor between Frigga and Snape's chairs. From the look Snape gave Ferki, Sirius could tell he didn't like the sitting arrangements. Loki sat in the empty chair next to Regulus, which also put him next to Sirius, on his right.
"Now that we all have found seats, the meeting can begin." Dumbledore said, "Loki, Sirius, would one of you mind telling us what happened with you guys yesterday? Tell us about your adventures, we'll tell you about ours, and then I'll tell you about my meeting with the Wizengamot."
"You tell them, Reigny. You know more about it than I do," Sirius said, not wanting to give a long explanation.
"Alright," Loki said, "Every two thousand years, there is an event called the convergence; it is where all Nine Realms align themselves and open portals throughout the realms-"
"What does this have to do with anything?" Emmeline demanded.
"Shut up, and Reigny will tell you," Sirius said, and Emmeline looked taken back.
"The last time the convergence happened, there was a war between Asgard and Svarafheim. Their King, Malekith, was after this powerful object called the Aether. Asgard won the war, of course, and Malekith and the rest of his army of Dokkalfar were believed to be dead."
"Dokkalfar?" Tonks asked.
"Dark elves," Loki said, "Yesterday marked two thousand years since the last convergence, so it happened again, and when Thor and Harry went out yesterday, the Aerher somehow found its way into him and possessed him."
"How can an object possess someone?" Arthur asked.
"The Aether is a liquid; it entered Harry by seeping through his skin," Thor answered. "It caused a reaction that destroyed the buildings and vehicles around us."
"That was the first video I saw," Andromeda said, "The one Dora showed us that caused you three to go to Asgard."
"Thor took Harry to our healers for help." Loki said, "When Sirius, Regulus, and I went to fetch him, Asgard was being attacked; Malekith and his army had not been killed in the last war as believed but had been asleep. The Aether stirring woke them up, and once again, they wanted the Aether; we chanced them off, but they returned; there was a big battle, Sirius got hurt, and Malekith captured Harry, so Thor, Regulus, and I returned to this realm to save Harry, and stop Malekith."
"So, that's why Harry was caught on video arriving with those space creatures," Tonks said.
"Yes."
"Harry was doing what those videos showed?" Andromeda asked, "It wasn't a trick, he was…what was he doing? It looked like he was turning off the sun; everything kept getting darker."
"Well, he wasn't turning off the sun, per se, but he was turning the universe dark." Regulus said, "That's what Malekith wanted the Aether for; his goal was to use its power to bring darkness to all Nine Realms and throw the world into chaos."
"And Harry was doing what this…this creature wanted?" Molly demanded, "I don't believe it."
"The Aether had full control over Harry by then," Sirius said, "It was following Malekith's orders, not Harry; he wasn't doing anything. Harry could no more stop himself than someone under the imperius curse trying to fight off an order by the caster."
"I was able to get the Aether out of Harry. Unfortunately, Malekith got ahold of it, but Thor and I stopped him while Regulus got rid of his army, and then we went back to Asgard, and now we are home, and it's all over. Malekith and his army are dead and no longer a threat."
"And what happened to this Aether?" Dumbledore asked.
"Destroyed along with Malekith." Loki lied.
"Excellent."
"I noticed the Black wasn't mentioned being in your battle," Snape smirked, "Hurt? I bet, likely faking to be able to stay behind and-"
"Snape," Loki snapped, but before he could even try to do anything, Regulus jumped out of his seat so fast the chair fell over with a bang, then went over to Snape, grabbed the front of his robes, pulled him roughly to his feet, slammed Snape into the wall, and held him there, when Snape went to reach inside his robes for his wand, Regulus grabbed his wrist and held it against his stomach, and Sirius just sat there watching in shock.
"I know you and Sirius have hated each other since you were children, and don't let a moment pass without insulting each other, but let me get one thing straight," Regulus said, "I only let your insults to Sirius slide because they are childish, but at the moment I am feeling protective of Sirius, and if you want to throw out childish insults like you're a second year, be my guest, but I will not stand for you to sit here, as an unwanted guest in our home, and suggest that Sirius didn't want to help save his son, because he was cowardly or lazy when the truth was my brother had to be forced to stay behind, even though he was in excruciating pain because he was fucking dying."
Regulus yelled the last part, and Sirius decided he needed to intervene before he did something to get thrown in Azkaban, so he stood, went over, and pulled Regulus off Snape.
"Reg, little brother, the slimy git isn't worth it," Sirius said, turning Rregulus away from Snape, who got over his shock, and put his hand in his robes, and pulled out his wand, but before he could do anything Ferki let out a growl jumped up and knocked Snape's wand out his hand, then stood there growling at him, causing Snape to back up towards the kitchen counter. At the same time, his wand rolled over to Thor, who bent down and picked it up.
"I'll hold this until the meeting is over," Thor said, slipping Snape's wand behind his ear. Snape glared at him but did not say anything as he stayed where he was, his pale face red from embarrassment.
"Ferki," Frigga commanded, snapping her fingers. Ferki stopped growling and returned to lying on the floor beside Frigga's chair. There was a lingering silence as Loki moved to Sirius' seat to sit next to Regulus to keep him calm, though Loki's look suggested he highly enjoyed what Regulus had just done.
"What is Reg talking about, Sirius?" Andromeda asked.
Sirius took off his shirt and tossed it onto the floor. Then he stood up, untied his trousers, and pulled the flips aside to show the scar under his navel.
"During the battle on Asgard, I fought with Malekith. He stabbed me with a poisoned knife. The poison traveled throughout my body and was shutting it down. Asgard had no cure, so Harry thought of Pheonix tears, so, Reggy, Thor, and Harry went to Hogwarts and got some from Fawkes, if it hadn't been for them and Harry thinking of Fawkes, I'd be dead right now." Sirius finished his story, then tied his trousers and sat back down.
"Are you saying Black and Potter tore down the Hogwarts wards?" Snape demanded, "Please, they could not have-"
"They did not; that was I," Thor said. Snape narrowed his eyes at him.
"How? You have no magic," Snape said, then jumped when there was a sudden rumble of thunder.
"I do not need magic," Thor said.
"Can we just get to Voldemort attacking the Ministry?" Sirius demanded. He wasn't in the mood for arguing; he wanted to find out about Voldemort and the meeting Dumbledore had, then kick the Order out of his house so he could have a cup of tea and something to eat, maybe even lay down for a while.
"Good idea," Dumbledore said. "Where to begin? Oh yes, I had been staying at Hogwarts for a few days, as I had some things to attend to. I was in my office, when I received an urgent message from Kingsley. Voldemort had found out Thor and Loki had left Earth and had taken advantage of their absence by trying to take over the Ministry. I alerted the Order at once. There was a battle, and we won."
"We barely won," Tonks said, "The Death Eaters wasn't the problem, it was was mostly Voldemort. He is way too strong after getting that serum stuff. I would hate to think what would have happened if his sister had been there."
"Schmidt wasn't with Voldemort?" Sirius asked.
"No," Kingsley answered, "Neither was Rumlow. I kept an eye out for him during the battle, I would have killed him if I saw him." A few gasped after Kingsley's words, but Sirius was glad that someone in the Order was taking destroying every Horcrux seriously.
"I take it, Albus, you were dueling Voldemort," Loki said.
"I was, with the help of Andromeda and Kingsley," Dumbledore replied, "I can not take all the credit; it was our combined effects that drove him out of the Ministry."
"I was in a battle with Bellatrix," Tonks said, making a face, "Sometimes I think she's even more twisted than Voldemort."
"Were you hurt?" Thor asked.
"Nah, blondie, I was put in the torture curse a couple of times, but not for long; she was mostly toying with me, which allowed me to catch her off guard," Tonks explained. "I think she was surprised I was so good at dueling; she shouldn't have been; after all, I am an Auror."
"Bella has always been like that," Andromeda said. "Most of the duels she's lost were due to underestimating her opponents and toying with them, then she gets surprised when they get the upper hand."
"I was able to get her with a Stupefy, which made Voldemort mad, and he turned his wand on me, but Mum disarmed him because, really, how arrogant does one have to be to take your eyes off three opponents?" Tonks said.
"I tried to bind Voldemort, but the Lestrange brothers rushed to his aid. By the time we dealt with them, Voldemort had already fled with Bellatrix, and his followers soon followed," Dumbledore added.
"Did anyone on our side get hurt during the attack?" Thor asked.
"There were some injuries; they are at Hogwarts being treated by Madam Pomfrey and Ted; with the spy still at 's, we didn't want to trust taking them there," Andromeda answered.
"Was that what the Wizengamot meeting was about?" Loki asked.
"Part of it, yes." Dumbledore answered, "But Cornelius Fudge was the biggest focus."
"Fudge?" Sirius asked.
"Yes," Dumbledore answered, "Minerva, Severus, Fillius, and I had just gotten done spending most of the night putting the wards back up around Hogwarts when I got a message from Amelia Bones. She was calling an emergency meeting the following morning with the Wizengamot to discuss the attack on the Ministry and Cornelius' reaction to it."
"What was Fudge's reaction?" Sirius asked.
"He barricaded himself in his office and then used his floor to flee." Dumbledore answered, "It just added to several complaints we have got about him lately, and most of the Wizengamot has disapproved of a lot of things he's handled lately, especially his trying to cover up Voldemort's return; the Wizengamot had decided to ask Cornelius to resign, due to the circumstances the Wizengamot has the authority to vote a new Minister in, with the approval from the Chief Warlock, we could fire Cornelius, but the Wizengamot was hoping to get Cornelius to resign, so there wouldn't be a big fuss, but turned out, we didn't even have to ask."
"Pardon?"
"During the meeting, an owl arrived from Cornelius; it was a resignation letter, signed and sealed by Cornelius Fudge with a note saying he left the country," Dumbledore answered, "It would seem him being Voldemort's main target shook him up."
"So, we have no Minister," Molly said, and Dumbledore smiled while looking at Loki.
"I did not say that," Dumbledore said, "Since the Minister resigned on his own, the Wizengamot had the authority to go ahead and vote in a Minister in his place and decided we needed a Minister more powerful than Voldemort, one who already beat him in a duel once."
"Are you saying what I think you are saying?" Sirius asked while a large grin broke out on Loki's face.
"Indeed I am." Dumbledore said, "As of this moment, Loki, you are The Minister of Magic."
"Congratulations, Reigny," Sirius said.
Later That Night
"Darling, there is nothing I want more than for you to eat Idunn's apple," Loki said, crawling in bed next to Sirius, who was sitting up, leaning against the headboard with a small wooden box in his lap."But, after what Odin said about your ancestor, how she regretted it and took her own life."
"There is a difference between me and my ancestor. I won't be alone over the next few centuries. You'll be by my side, and Harry will likely eat his, at some point, I plan to get Regulus one. I know they'll be people I'll have to watch grow old and die, but you'll be there to comfort me." Sirius said.
"Sirius."
"No, hear me out, Loki, please," Sirius said. More than anything, his use of Loki's name got him to stop and listen. "I don't want to be helpless when we finally go up against Voldemort and Schmidt. I need to be strong and able to protect my family."
"Love, you do not have to protect me; it is I who should protect you," Loki said.
"We should be able to protect each other," Sirius said, then opened the wooden box, took out one of the apples, and smirked at Loki, "besides, I'll be forty in November; I'd rather look thirty-nine for the next five thousand years."
Loki laughed at Sirius' joke as he watched Sirius raise the golden apple to his mouth and take the first bite.
AN: Regulus is a bit protective of his big brother right now, since he nearly died, which is why he got so mad at Snape, It is shown in the books that the Black family can have tempers, so, Regulus would have one, it just takes a bit to get him to lose it.
Dumbledore had already spoken to the portraits and knew who had broken into Hogwarts, and had figured it had been Thor to broke the wards, which is why he wasn't surprised or said anything, I don't know how the voting goes or how a Minister of Magic is hired, of laws on what the Wizengamot can and can't do, so, I just made some stuff up, I wasn't trying to make Dumbledore look weak, by it taken Andromeda and Kingsley to help him, but remember Voldemort had Super Solder serum so, he's unusually powerful.
Yes, there is a reason I added Loki's wife, but that won't be shown to the squeal, I decided one of the MCU plots I do will be Raganork, so, his marriage to her and her death will come up more than. For those who don't read the comics or at least the classic ones, Sigyn wasn't only Loki's wife in Norse Mythology, she was also his wife in the comics, but I changed the story of how they became married from the comics, I do like Sigyn in the comics, but I don't like the backstory of how her and Loki became married, so, I changed it to better fit this story.
