Wade's groans echoed through the desolate wasteland as he lifted his gaze to take in the surreal surroundings. Before him sprawled a mysterious landscape dotted with both familiar and unfamiliar objects. In the distance, a temple loomed, its structure a haunting blend of being engulfed by shifting sands and defiantly standing against the elements.
As he raised his eyes, a looming shadow enveloped him, heralding the arrival of Peter, whose face contorted with rage as he advanced towards Wade.
"Don't just stand there, you damn spider," Wade says with a groan. "Give me a hand up."
Peter barely moved as he slowly raised his metallic arm, clenching his fist to make it appear as though he was prepared to strike. Wade started to feel anxious, fearing what Peter might do next.
"No, never mind, I'm good," Wade said in terror. "Thank you very much- ahh!"
Peter punched Wade in the chest at full strength and even punctured his ribs. He then raised Wade up with one fist in anger, shaking him around. "Where the fuck are we?!"
"I don't know!" Wade cried in pain. "Somewhere that looks sorta Mad Max-y. But it can't be; the author still hasn't gotten around to seeing those movies!"
"More fucking jokes!" Peter screamed in anger as he flung Wade around and threw him into the side of a giant shield.
"Did you not hear what he said?!" Wade cried as Peter started to march off. "If we don't get back to that Scribe asshole, my whole world is going to die!"
"Yeah?" Peter asked with no real interest. "Not my fucking problem!"
"Is that why you said when your world went to shit?!" Wade questioned.
Peter froze when he heard that one, and then looked over towards Wade in anger. "Come again?"
"Yeah, Scribe told me all about you," Wade stated with a scoff, turning around to look around. "How you got your whole world-"
That's when Peter came up from behind Wade and yanked him by the foot. Wade shrieked she was then thrown into the air where Peter shot him with a web line. When he attached, Peter yanked the line and sent Wade toppling and rolling across the wasteland.
Wade got back up and groaned as he saw that he angered Peter to the point he was ready for a fight. "I don't wanna have to fight you, Spidey. I just need your help."
"I don't fucking care!" Peter stated, getting into his fighting stance.
Wade looked around and knew that he needed to act, only to see his guns were empty. He looked over and saw his magazines on a piece of metal. He then looked over to Peter and knew that there was no other choice; he was going to have to fight him.
"Fuck it then! Let's give the people what they came here for!" Wade proclaimed.
Wade then smacked the magazines into the air where he then managed to maneuver them into his gun and opened fire on Spider-Man. But he was quick as he dodged the bullets or used his arm to block them, and he raced his way towards Deadpool. Deadpool saw that this wasn't working and ended up losing his guns when Spider-Man shot out two webs and yanked them out of his hands. He then shot out a few more to latch onto Deadpool's feet to keep him still.
The webbing stuck, and Deadpool stumbled, but he quickly rolled to his side, freeing himself. "Oh, come on!" With a quick flick of his wrist, Deadpool tossed a handful of grenades towards Spidey. "Catch!"
Spider-Man's reflexes kicked in; he shot a web at the grenades, swinging them harmlessly into the distance where they exploded in a cloud of sand. Deadpool shot back, leaping towards Spider-Man with a flurry of acrobatics, his swords glinting in the sun as he used his arm to block the swing.
Spidey dodged to the side, and Deadpool's blade sliced through the air where he had just been. "Nice try, but you're gonna have to do better than that!" Peter snarled as he launched himself into the air with a powerful kick.
Deadpool spun around just in time, catching Spider-Man's foot with one hand while brandishing his katana with the other. "You think that will stop me?" he laughed, flipping Spider-Man over his shoulder and onto the sandy ground.
Spider-Man landed with a roll, springing back to his feet. He shot webs at Deadpool, ensnaring his arms.
"Nice try, but I've got a secret weapon!" Deadpool grinned, pulling out a handful of throwing stars. With a flick of his wrist, he sent them flying towards Spider-Man, who expertly dodged each one while weaving through the webbing.
Spidey used webbing to swing high into the air using the debris of the various buildings that were around. He landed on a nearby rock formation, gaining the high ground. He shot a web toward a nearby boulder, swinging to the side just as Deadpool zoomed past him, crashing into the rock and exploding in a cloud of dust.
Deadpool moaned as he stumbled his way out of the cloud, limping as he fell onto his knees as Spider-Man approached and snarled. He then grabbed Wade by the head and prepared to let all of his anger out on him.
"Let's see if your head can grow back once I bash it into fucking oblivion!" Peter proclaimed, preparing to do just that.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Wade cried in fear. "Wait! Hold on! I can fix it!"
"Fix what?" Peter asked, waiting to hear him out.
"Your world," Wade explained, immediately getting Peter's attention. "Look, those TVA assholes, they have the power to kill my world, bu they can also go back in time. Change things. They can FIX your world. Whatever your mistake was. They can change it."
Peter froze as the idea never occurred to him. He can go back and make what happened right. He could change things. "You're telling the truth?!"
"I promise. If we get back to them, they can fix everything." Wade promises.
Peter considered his options as his senses then went off, getting him to look around. "Hey!" Someone shouted, getting them to look upward and see a man dressed in a strange green outfit with a giant cloth around his body. "If we fight each other, out here, we lose!"
"Who is that guy?" Wade asks.
"They're coming!" He said, gesturing out to the void.
The two of them looked and noticed various vehicles is approaching. The man in green leaped down and landed ahead of them, revealing he had a strange green hood with a diamond on top.
"What, are you some Vision variant?" Wade guesses.
"Stay close." The man tells the two of them. "Here comes trouble."
"Who exactly?" Peter wonders.
"The Outliers." He explained, only getting them more confused.
Peter and Wade observed as they found themselves encircled by a collection of vehicles that were strangely recognizable yet distinctly modified. The STAR Labs van they were driving had lost its rear portion, and alongside it was a hovering FantasticCar. This incredible vehicle seemed to be carrying a variety of individuals, some appearing pale and unwell, while others resembled familiar adversaries that both Peter and Wade had crossed paths with before.
"Well, well." One of them said, removing their mask to reveal it was Bullseye. "The big man is going to be just tickled when he sees us bring you in. You're done running?"
"You see anyone running here, dick for brains?" The man asked.
Wade and Peter looked at one another, not entirely sure how to react to what was happening. They weren't sure who this guy was, but he seemed to have some balls to be going against someone like Bullseye.
"You plan on hanging around?" Bullseye asks. "Seems you made some new friends out here."
"We don't know this guy." Peter proclaimed.
"He means that in the literal sense," Wade agreed.
"You wanna sing, Bullseye?" Their man in green questioned. "Then get ready to take a high note!" He then pushed a button on his chest. "Kiteman, hell yeah!"
They then found that their survivor was a man with a mostly green outfit. His primary outfit consists of bronze boots, matching gloves, light green pants, a matching shirt, and a brown belt. He has a large, yellow, kite-shaped button on his chest, which goes around his shoulders to his back and releases a kite out of its holder mechanism when pressed. He has a helmet-like piece of headwear in which he never takes off, consisting of a green cowl with a yellow and orange visor covering his eyes for flight, small jutting-out circles on the sides where his ears would fit into, and a yellow kite crest on his forehead similar the one he has on his chest.
This was Kiteman.
Kiteman took to the skies and started to fly around. They were waiting for him to do something, but all he was doing was flying around the area they were in. He spun around on his kite, flying around them to the point they were getting a little irritated.
Bullseye then pulled out his throwing stars and threw them through Kiteman's kite. He screamed in terror as he fell from the sky and slammed into a STAR Labs satellite. He then fell and smacked his head against a Kryptonian escape pod. Then he fell and landed on the ground.
"Okay, we definitely do not know him," Peter proclaimed.
"Yeah, what he said." Wade agrees with him.
"But I know you!" Someone said, getting Peter and Wade to look over and see a man with blue pants and a blue mask, alongside his torso having red lighting marks up his hips and arms. "Spider-Man!"
"Speed Demon." Wade recognized the man.
"Ready to die?!" Speed Demon asks.
Peter snarled as he stepped forward, preparing to fight his enemy. Wade however stopped him, jumping ahead. "Wait, wait, wait! Time!" He then looked over Peter's dirty attire. "You look ridiculous." He then started to clean up Peter's attire. "Speed Demon is the only speedster you've never fought in any of your stories." He then took Peter's mask and placed it gently on his head. "Now, you shoot the devil, take her down, side control. Then you ground, and pound, until she makes no sound because she's dead."
"Would you just shut the fuck up?" Peter asked of him, removing his mask.
"Oh, my god..." Wade said, walking backward. "Okay, go ahead, I'm a huge fan."
Speed Demon then prepared to charge while Peter was beginning to charge. He ran off towards Speed Demon, who ran towards him. Peter then raised his fist and swung it at Speed Demon. Speed Demon stopped right in front of Wade, and seemed to be choking on something.
"What's wrong, Timmy?" Wade asks him. Then he watched as Speed Demon's head split into several pieces due to him running so fast he sped through Peter's fist. "Ooh." Then he picked up the head and decided to have some fun. "Behold! The head of your precious queen!" He then pointed over towards Spider-Man. "Witness me! Are you not entertained?!"
"You done?" Peter asks him with a sigh.
"And since when did you start killing?" Wade was a little curious to know. "The Pete I knew always had this on-and-off code on killing depending on the circumstances. But you went straight for the kill."
"Good for him." Peter scoffed.
"Wow, you're seriously different," Wade comments.
"Ugh." Bullseye scoffed. "Gob?"
As they were minding their own business, a peculiar creature manipulated the STAR Labs van to bring a massive magnet to life. The magnet immediately locked onto Peter's arm and Wade's blades, propelling them forcefully towards it. In a split second, they witnessed a colossal chunk of metal hurtling in their direction.
"Oh, fuck," they uttered in unison as the metal collided with their faces.
"Vanessa?"
As Wade began to regain consciousness, he found himself inside a spherical structure being towed by the villains' vehicles. Startled, he looked around and noticed that he was securely bound next to Peter. Both of them were restrained with power-suppressing handcuffs, preventing them from using their abilities. Fortunately, Wade estimated that it would take some time for his condition to become problematic.
The scenery outside the dome resembled a distorted version of the pyramids of Giza, with spherical shapes instead of traditional structures. Among the peculiar landscape, they also spotted remnants of familiar objects such as a Helicarrier, what appeared to be Titans Tower, and even a colossal statue resembling Atlantis.
"What's happening?" Wade asked Peter.
"We're being taken to their boss from what I can guess," Peter stated. "Otherwise they'd have killed us by now. It's standard villain behavior. They're the dogs, we're being brought to the man with the leash."
"Wow, you'd have gotten along with some friends of mine," Kite-Man said, getting them to look down and see he was sitting on a seat at the edge of the dome. "Hi, we weren't properly introduced. Kite-Man."
"Deadpool," Wade introduced himself. "This is Spider-Punk 2077."
"What the hell is this place?" Peter asks Kite-Man.
"Oh, well, it hasn't been given a name per se," Kite-Man admits. "I mean, we've all given it our own special nickname." He then looked around, as if expecting to see a camera. "The little green guy said, in his own way, I couldn't quite understand what he was saying, that this place is where the worlds that were created, but we're never completed." He then tried to remember the others. "Bruce Wayne, who I didn't know was Batman, did you know that?"
"Worked with him for years," Peter said.
"Only met him once in Battleworld," Wade said.
"He theorized it was a universe dumping ground," Kite-Man explains. "Oh, but this other kid, Hero Had-something or another, he theorized that this place was a metaphysical junkyard where dead universes are sent when their worlds are unable to stabilize themselves."
"That sounds like a metaphor for writing ideas and stories that never got to see the light of day," Wade commented.
"And these guys?" Peter asked, looking around.
"They work for the self-crowned king of the Outlands," Kite-Man explained. "He's proclaimed himself that title, because...well, he's one of the most dangerous people who were flung in here. And we've seen the likes of many criminals here. But there is a resistance. We live out in the Forest District."
"The Forest District?" Wade asks.
"Yeah, it's the one place he can't touch for some reason," Kite-Man says. "Maybe it's because that's technically the Enchanted Forest."
"The Enchanted Forest from Frozen?" Wade clarified.
"That's it," Peter said to Wade. "We get to the resistance here, maybe they have a way of getting out. Get us back to the TVA and fix my world like you promised."
"He might have something to say about that," Kite-Man warns him.
"And who is he exactly?" Wade asks him.
The group is brought to a giant base that looks like it was formed out of the corpse of Cassie Lang in her Stature uniform. The arms were opened up by a mechanical mechanism from the other end. The three captives were then dragged out of the dome as they saw the people of the kingdom.
Some of them were familiar faces like members of the Injustice Society and Dark Avengers. These were people such as Dragon King, Killmonger, and many others. Then Wade noticed Vandal Savage, Dragon Hunters, and even villains he's never met like Tombstone and Wolverine clones.
Then there were some other people. There were other people that were more friends rather than enemies. Some of them were even people without powers, and yet they were here. They had to guess, it was the work of that serum.
Then they began to hear music coming, looked up to see that there was a variant of Dazzler on the head of Cassie.
"In the shadows of the ruins where the sunlight rarely shines, a figure cloaked in darkness, weaving tales and twisted lines." Dazzler began singing, and the captives looked at the mask of the Stature head rising to show the skull. "With a crown of rusted metal and a grin sharp as a knife, He rules the barren wasteland, where hope has lost its life."
Peter began to notice symbols appearing around him, which cast a shadow of concern across his face. He paused, a single word hanging in the air, "Wait..."
"Oh, hear the whispers in the night. His laughter echoes, a chilling fright, In the heart of the desolation, The Goblin King claims his throne of devastation."
"Goblin King?" Wade asks.
"Bow down to the Goblin King. In his kingdom of despair, With a flick of his wicked hand, He'll take you to the depths of despair. Fear the shadows, fear the sting, In the wasteland, he's the one, With a heart as cold as winter's bite, His reign has only just begun."
Peter and Wade found themselves being forcefully pulled out of the dome by the powerful Juggernaut, who appeared even more imposing with his muscular physique. At the same time, Kite-Man was being dragged away by a female counterpart of the Lizard.
As they were being dragged, Peter and Wade witnessed a mysterious figure emerging from the wreckage, adorned in armor that bore a striking resemblance to iron. The distinct metallic clanking sound emanating from the figure's movements led them to speculate that this might be a hero equipped with iron-based gear, perhaps similar to Stark or another renowned figure.
"From the ashes of the fallen, he's gathered all his might, His minions roam the ruins, spreading terror through the night. With a cackle like thunder, he summons storms of dust, In the dance of desolation, he ignites a cruel lust."
"Is that Stark?" Wade wonders. "Hey, Stark! It's us!"
Peter, however, seemed to recognize the figure. "That's not Stark..."
"Oh, feel the tremors in your soul, When he comes to claim what's whole. In a world that's lost its reason, The Goblin King is the harbinger of treason."
Emerging from the skull, a hand reached out to press a button, which conjured up a stairway. The clanking of mechanical footsteps was soon identified as armor encasing his feet.
"Bow down to the Goblin King, In his kingdom of despair. With a flick of his wicked hand, He'll take you to the depths of despair. Fear the shadows, fear the sting, In the wasteland, he's the one, With a heart as cold as winter's bite, His reign has only just begun."
"Oh, shit," Kite-Man said in terror.
"So gather 'round, oh weary ones, And heed the tale of his cruel fun, For under the moonlit sky, The Goblin King will hear your cry. No mercy shown, no hope in sight, In his grip, you'll lose the fight."
The Goblin King's chest was clad in green armor, draped with a purple cloth. He descended the stairs as smoke swirled into existence around him.
"Bow down to the Goblin King, In his kingdom of despair, With a flick of his wicked hand, He'll take you to the depths of despair. Fear the shadows, fear the sting, In the wasteland, he's the one, With a heart as cold as winter's bite, His reign has only just begun."
That's when they got a look at his face, and they realized who it was.
"So tremble now, and learn your place, In the Goblin King's relentless race, For in the echoes of the night, His empire grows, devoid of light. Welcome to the wasteland's throne, Where the Goblin King reigns alone."
"Goblin," Peter snarled.
"Norman Osborn," Wade recognized him.
It was indeed Norman Osborn who was the ruler of the Outlands. Norman chuckled as he reached up and removed the goggles that were over his eyes.
"Well, well, well..." Norman said as he approached the three of them. "Can the Spider-Man come out to play?"
"Wow, taking the classic lines," Wade said as Norman approached them. "So, uh, what universe are you from?"
"I believe it was Earth-616," Norman answered with a friendly demeanor. "At least that's what I saw it was categorized in the Book of Destiny."
"Book of Destiny?" Wade recognized that. "That hasn't been a thing since Crisis on Infinite What If's."
"Yes, and that's where my story began," Norman stated as he walked around the two, who had to keep turning their heads since they were still tied together. "I was forced here after my plan was altered. From becoming the most powerful crime lord in all of New York... to recruiting a Sinister Six."
"What the hell is he talking about?" Peter asks Wade.
"I'd tell you, big it'd take about three stories, 325 chapters, and maybe one spinoff," Wade informed Peter. "And that would be as a starting point."
"You know...I have a good feeling here." Norman said, quickly snapping his fingers. Then they watched as one of the followers levitated the chains and made them fall. "Now, this one." He gestured towards Kite-Man. "I've been after for quite some time. Haven't I, Chuck?"
"What did you do to Golden Glider?" Kite-Man asks him. "Where is she?"
"Oh, trust me, she's perfectly fine," Norman promises him. "She's very happen in her new position." He then leaned in closer. "And every position for that matter."
"What?" Kite-Man asked in fear.
"Don't let him intimidate you, Kite-y." Wade told him. "He already told us all about you."
"Can you just shut up?" Peter asks him.
"Yeah, please," Kite-Man said. "Pl-"
"Don't worry, Kite-Man, we're just talking," Wade tells them. "He told us how you are a horny, old, megalomaniac, asshole. His words, not mine. Hellbent on dominating everything and everyone."
"You said those things about me?" Norman asked Kite-Man.
"What?" Kite-Man started to sweat. "No! I'd never-"
"Sticks and stones," Wade stated. "It's like you said on the convoy. This green-skinned, dead inside, pixie slap of third-rate horn-nut milk can eat your delicious cinnamon ring and kickstart the apocalypse up your string-filled ass."
"I have never said any of that!" Kite-Man proclaimed.
"Ha! The modesty." Wade stated. "People think I'm a shit-talker. But this guy...next level."
"What?!" Kite-Man cried. "I don't even know what half of that means!"
"Hats off to you, sir," Wade tells Kite-Man.
"I didn't- no, I'd- I don't even-" Kite-Man didn't even get to finish.
Norman turned towards him and stretched a finger that shot out bolts of electricity. Kite-Man screamed as his flesh was frying and he felt everything. They watched as Norman then calmed down and they saw all that was left of Kite-Man was his Diamond from his head. Peter and Wade jumped back in shock and terror when they saw what Norman is capable of.
"Not my favorite character from the series," Wade commented.
"You fucking stupid piece of shit, you just got him killed!" Peter proclaimed.
"Hey, we are all grieving!" Wade stated. "PS, he wasn't exactly a fan favorite to begin with."
"Shh!" Norman demanded, looking out and seeing something in the distance. "The Eliminator approaches."
"The what?" Peter asks, looking out to see a giant stormcloud approaching with a strange dragon-looking face. "What the hell is that?"
"Something as old as the Outlands themselves," Norman answered with a chuckle. "He and I arrived here together. We were the first things to appear. Everyone else just showed up over time."
"And what do you want with us?" Peter asks him.
"To offer you a chance," Norman said to Peter. "It has been ever so lonely around here without a Spider-Man."
"You are fucking insane if you think that I would ever think of joining you!" Peter proclaimed, going in to strike Norman.
But Norman caught his fist and quickly twisted his metallic arm, then threw Peter across the place and slammed into the teeth of Stature. Wade looked worried as he saw he was the only one left.
"Okay, fuck it," Wade said, drawing his small knife. "Baby knife, meet Norman."
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Norman laughed maniacally when he saw the knife. "You're going to need something stronger if you want to threaten me."
"How about an iron fist?" Wade wonders.
As Peter leaped off the ground and slammed Norman down, he prepared to strike again. However, he was taken aback as he watched Norman's fist transform, growing larger and more Hulk-like. To his horror, Peter found himself grabbed by the wrist and lifted into the air as Norman began to rapidly grow in size.
Norman's transformation was complete, turning him into a monstrous creature with green scales covering his skin, larger and more pointy eyes, small green goblin ears, a prominent double chin with horns protruding, and piercing yellow eyes without pupils. In addition, he sprouted dragon-like wings, and horns, and was adorned with metallic shorts.
"Holy shit," Wade said in fear. He then looked down at his knife. "We're gonna need a bigger knife."
"Well, this is fun," Norman said in a more monstrous voice. "But Eliminator needs to eat, and I want to keep my end of the bargain." He then strolled off while his men all ran and tried to hide from the Eliminator. "Play nice!"
Peter was able to sense the strikes as if tendrils came down and tried to scoop him up, but they grabbed onto a variant of a Stormtrooper and scooped him up. Wade shrieked as he tried to keep up with Peter.
Seeing some of the weapons and vehicles, Peter recognized one of them was a Falcon jetpack and ran over to pick it up. He then began to strap it to his back and tried to get it working.
"Come on you fucking piece of junk!" Peter screamed as he slammed the pack against the metal bars. "Work!"
The jetpack then began to get some thrust as Wade screamed and ran over to jump on. "Wait for me!"
They then took off flying just before the Eliminator could get them. They flew off and Norman shifted back to his normal form and watched them fly away with a grin. He knew that this wasn't the last he saw of them as he strolled into his lair and looked to a throne where he had chains attached to the arms that ended around the necks of his two favorite girls.
One of those is Lisa Snart, Golden Glider. Glider is a young woman of Asian descent, she has white skin, slanted brown eyes, and short black hair with golden highlights. When she uses her powers, her body glows brightly golden.
The other one was Selena Kyle, Catwoman. She has brown skin, green eyes, and a dark brown pixie cut. She wears silver cat-eyed goggles, a black aviator helmet with cat ears, a skin-tight black latex/leather costume with a silver zipper, belt, and grey gloves and boots.
They had blindfolds over their eyes and earmuffs to keep them from hearing or seeing anything that was going on. Norman didn't need them trying to escape, even if they weren't under his control. He uses them as his hounds to keep others from breaking into his home. Nobody but him and his controlled girls were allowed in the base.
"Don't worry, girls," Norman said as he petted their heads. "Soon we will escape..." He then showed a giant vortex of sorts that didn't seem to be complete yet and was made out of various machines across the Outlands. "...and I will finally get back at those who sent me here..."
