ADJUSTMENT

'Crap! I am late.' Peter exclaimed as he wore the suit he ''borrowed'' from a shop after saving it from a group of thugs. Luckily no one noticed and the suit is old, but he doesn't mind as it fits him pretty well. Locking the door of his rented room, he bolted out to the school. As he ran, he went to his office, which once belonged to Miss Ogle's room.

As he kept the bag, he saw two pieces of paper- one of the timetable for the day and another is a note from the principal herself –

'I have some important work, so I am giving you a pardon today. Classes start at 8 and it is important to report to the school by 7:30. Here is the timetable for this week. Next time, I won't pardon you.

'damn. Alright, let's go.' And with that Peter took the time and went to class.

MEANWHILE

Marinette was running with her backpack hitting her back. Despite not far from her home, she is the last one to arrive.

'excuse me miss, I am sorry for being….', Marinette said, panting at the entrance of the class, stopped as she saw a completely different person writing on the board. he turned to Marinette with a smile as he said, 'Please come in, miss….?'

'Marinette Dupen Cheng, sir. You are the new teacher here?' 'yeah, come on. Class is starting in a minute.'

Marinette sat down next to Alia and whispered to her, 'did i miss something?'

'nope. it's going to start now.'

'good morning class. I am your new teacher, Mr. Parker. I will be teaching science from today onwards. If you guys don't mind, let us have a small quiz on the subject to see how much you know.' Peter said with a smile as the class did a small whisper among themselves.

'All alright this is row 1 and that is row 2. Try your best to answer. Each answer receives a point. Whoever gets the most points will receive a treat, on me. Alright?'

As everyone agreed, Peter drew a line on the center of the board, on side A and on the other side B.

'ugh, this is ridiculous! I think I ought to call my daddy for a better teacher. Don't want such a low-class teacher teaching me. Ridiculous! utterly ridiculous!', Chloe said, brushing her hair.

Peter smiled and before he could say something, ' Don't bother her, Mr. Parker. Please you can continue.' Peter looked at the student who spoke and saw a girl with Marinette.

'thank you miss...' Peter asked as the girl replied, 'Cesare, sir.'

'right. Well here is a thing, if you aren't interested, then you are free to leave. Don't worry, i won't rat you out. why? cuz i wont stay here too long. so as long as i am here I will try my best to make you understand and not bored. Anyway, FIRST QUESTION!'

'tell me, i will give you 2 compounds. CO2 and CO. Name these 2 compounds, and the elements of these compounds and also find out whether their mass proportion differs based on the compound or not. Also if possible, name the law applied here.', Peter asked as he looked around.

Few students raised their hands.

'alright, blue shirt with a creepy eye pic.'

The class chuckled as the boy stood up, adjusted his glasses, and said, 'So the compounds are Carbon Dioxide and Carbon Monoxide. The elements in both are Carbon and oxygen. And their mass proportion doesnt change irrespective of the compound or elements present with it. This law is called LAW OF CONSTANT PROPORTIONS.'

'Wow! That's pretty good. Everyone, please clap for mr...'

'Nino sir.'

'alright, kid. One point to A team.'

And this continued until the bell rang. Team A won by 3 points.

'alright, team A. Congrats. Sometimes when I get the chance, you guys will receive a treat. Anyway, tomorrow I will teach motion and its laws. See you tomorrow.'

And with that, he took his books and exited the class.

Soon the school ended and the students exited the class.

'Mr. Parker's class wasn't so bad. I mean you got to admit, his teaching ways are unique and interesting.' ' Max said while others agreed.

'he seems like a fun teacher. I like him.' Rose squealed as juleka laughed.

'they are right. Mr Parker was something.' Alya said as she walked with Marinette.

'you arent wrong, Alya. Anyway, i need you to meet me at my house in an hour with Rose, juleka, Mylene, and Alix. It [looking around to see if anyone is near, then whispered] code Adrien.' Marinette said as she suddenly took off. While Alya chuckled at her.

FEW MINUTES LATER IN Marinette'S ROOM

'Girls! We have a very serious situation!' Marinette announced.

The girls are cuddled up in the couch.

Marinette continued, 'Adrien and his father have been invited to the Royal Wedding in England this weekend. Kagami and her mother are going too! (paces around the room doing dramatic hand gestures) Which means that Adrien and Kagami will be spending an entire weekend together!'

Alya thoroughly confused asked, 'Don't tell me You are jealous cuz Adrien is going to spend time with Kagami. You know that's a bit excessive.'

Marinette shook her head and said, 'No, I aint jealous. Its that what if Kagami steals adrien from me! What if they become together! IT WILL BE THE END OF THE WORLD!'

Hanging her head down, juleka said, 'Why don't you talk to him abt it? you know, try confessing?'

Marinette shook her head again and said, 'But I just can't do that! (dramatically flops her head down) I can't talk to him without (raises her head making melodramatic hand gestures) stumbling all over my words. I've been trying for months. Any easier way?'

Everyone shook their heads. Marinette gave a sad sigh before she noticed Wayzz outside her window. Instincts instantly kicked in as she said to the girls with panic in her voice, 'You know what, you're right! (nervously giggles and starts dragging the girls out of her room as they gasp in surprise) It's about time things change. I'll find the courage somehow; thanks girls!' she quickly shooed away the girls and shut the trapdoor before gesturing Wayzz to enter.

'wayzz! What's going on?' Marinette asked.

'Marinette! You must come with me; Master Fu needs you!' wayzz said quickly before turns around and phases out of the window.

Marinette sighed as she turned to tikki, who was floating beside her, and whined, 'please don't tell me its not losing the key situation.'

'but Marinette, it could be serious. If it was, it would be either him close to death or miraculous got stolen or it's a trap, which I oubt also. Anyway, lets go.'

Marinette rushed to a subway train, took out a piece of paper as she said to herself, 'I will write out my feelings to Adrien. A much better way.'

MEANWHILE

'alright spidey sense. You have been in a different type of fritz for quite a while, and of course, i am not able to understand. Can't believe my senses have been heightened here. did it? god knows.' Peter whispered to himself as he walked to the subway train and sat on a seat. Just a few feet away, he saw Marinette writing down something as she spoke while nearby boys were snickering at her. Peter frowned and walked towards them.

'may I know what you guys are doing here near her?' Peter asked.

Marinette and the boys looked at him. The boys snickered and one of them said, 'What's it to you, old man?'

Peter gave a cold smile and said, 'Leave her alone buddy else I will get you a ticket to jail.' the boys shivered and went away. Marinette smiled at peter and said, 'Thanks, Mr. Parker.'

'no worries. You were in my class, right? Miss Dupen cheng.'

And soon the train stopped as Marinette stood up and waved as she said, 'This is my stop, sir. See you in class again.'

Peter smiled and waved but his spidey sense instantly told him to go to this station. Peter quickly jumped out of the train before it closed and turned around. He saw Marinette running up the stairs. he sighed in relief, knowing Marinette didn't notice him in her station. Turning in the opposite direction, he heads out of the station and into an alley to change.

Spider-man swung using his spidey sense as a guide. Within minutes, he reached a place where his senses were guiding him about.

a massage shop? Huh?' he slowly crept closer and he saw Marinette entering the shop.

'is my sense taking Dupen Cheng as a threat? or a powerful hero? Hmmm. why are my senses pointing to her or this shop? i can't barge in, not right now unless i have solid evidence. Alright, the trip was a waste. I have to plan this better. for now, let me search for some sustainable batteries.' Spider-man whispered to himself as he looked around until he noticed a shop [I forgot the name] he needed. 'bingo!'

A FEW MINUTES LATER, A MINUTE BEFORE ATTACK

'Karen?'

'Hello, Peter! It's good to hear you again.'

Peter sighed as he heard the familiar voice. Tears brimmed in his eyes as he spoke, 'i…..its good to hear you again…. Karen. How ae you?'

'I am sorry I wasn't there when you were in a bad situation. I have already set a reminder if the power is low, tho based on the battery you have given, it will last for 15 or more years, so you don't have to worry anymore, Peter.'

Peter started crying as he removed the mask and held it close to his chest. Over the years of his lonely life, his only companion was Karen, which he improved it so that the AI also has some emotions. As years passed, a good bond was formed to a point where he started to think Karen as his sister or a guardian. Deep down he knew that its isn't a good sign but he doesn't care. Years of trauma were reduced (kind of) and he was helped multiple times by Karen. She also has been helping whenever he had a severe case of PTSD and loneliness. They aren't exactly easy to handle when you practically have no one.

Peter could make friends and move on but it will take years. And also he is trying his best to avoid MJ and Ned as much as possible.

"what's past is past. I really would love to make things like before but due to knowing extensive knowledge about them, no doubt I will screw up and make things worse. I will be like a stalker then. Better make new friends and for god's sake, a nice girl who will accept me for who I am. Hopefully, in 5 years, I do get someone as my best friend. He won't replace Ned but I can't avoid making friends due to the past. Guess mr. stark's death has helped me learn to move on. Mr. stark, I miss you. a lot. I hate thinking about you tho. It brings in tears and pain. Mr. Stark, if you could, I hate to ask you but since you are already up there, aunt may said that the loved ones who died will send someone from heaven to help the troubled ones in your replacement. Well, not exactly a replacement but you get it right. So, could you send someone to help me? I am alone, sir. The only one I know is Stephen Strange but he has been dealing with other multiversal problems, so I gave up waiting for him. Plus he won't recognize me. Wish I was closer to Avengers sooner. Nah that still won't help with the identity crisis. Alright NEW LIFE, NEW YEAR!'

He wrote this a year after the Statue of Liberty incident. He also made a voicemail, which he would always hear it every time he started to think of making friends with mj, ned, or Happy. he also kept some of the memories with ned, mj or a few students from his class in the attic, until things go smoothly for him, something which hasn't been happening for some time now.

'right Karen. Enough of that stuff, could you locate any nearby crimes here? I will ask about this world later, if its alright?'

'pf course Peter. Currently, there is mass destruction a bit far from here. a new villain.'

Peter sighed as he chuckled. Typical spidey life. 'alright, guide me there Karen. let's go!'

MEANWHILE

Marinette, already transformed into as ladybug, was already near a place attacked by Backwarder.

Ladybug exclaimed, 'Oh no! I've seen that brooch before! If my love letter caused this kind of reaction it's probably a good thing Adrien didn't read it!'

Backwarder jumps off the Ferris wheel, backwards two cars and a civilian; the civilian is about to get hit by a backward car.

Ladybug gasped and was about to jump to save the lady, a man in a red and blue suit swung there and saved the lady before the car hit her. He quickly used his webs to lift the car and stuck it onto the side of a building before it could crash.

He swung back to where he dropped the lady and found her moving backward, with moonwalk style….. well kind of.

'spider-man! A supervillain has hit them! Where is….' But before she could complete her sentence, Chat Noir moonwalked near Ladybug as he said, 'Mylady, ok you are? I mean, are you ok, my lady?' he gave a cheeky smile as Ladybug said, 'Come on we have to stop her!'

As they ran, spidey said, 'I think they are all moving back in time. That's a perilous power. anyway, that's a cool moonwalk you did, chat.'

Chat cuckled, 'thanks. Have been practicing for my bugaboo.'

'I won't bore you with the details, but I'm sure the akumatized object is the brooch with the Chinese ideogram she's wearing.' Ladybug said as she ignored their conversation.'

'I trust you, m'lady'

'wow! That's one heck of confidence.', spidey muttered as he swung.

Meanwhile, backwarder was touching everyone near her and everyone was turned back in time as they ran backwards.

One of the citizen fell down and before the backwarder could touch him, she was suddenly kicked at the back…. Pretty hard, by Spider-man!

'damn! Turing back in time. Don't tell me you are akumatized because you did something awkward in front of your crush in your class?' spidey said as ladybug and Chat Noir came near him.

'who are you, you stupid bug! And how dare you kick an old lady. And as for you, ladybug! Once I've touched you, all I have to do is wait for you to transform back!' backwarder said as she laughed maniacally.

'guys! I was at Master Fu's earlier! We can't let her touch me otherwise she'll lead Hawk Moth straight to the Guardian! And the Miracle Box!'

Backwarder attempts to attack Ladybug, but spidey shot his webs at her eyes and trips her as chat deflects the the landing of the weapon with his baton.

'I'll gladly be your bodyguard, m'lady.' Chat said.

Backwarder removed the webbing with a grunt as she and Chat started to fight. Ladybug hooked her yoyo around her neck and yanked her while spidey gave a flying kick at her face, making the villain fly crashing the trees in the nearby park.

She slowly got up as she saw chat going to attack her. Without wasting any time she touched the nearby broken tree, making it go back and also hitting chat noir. Backwarder tried to hit Chat with her stick but he dodged.

Before she could attack more, the ladybug started throwing random stuff at her.

As the car, thrown by ladybug with her yoyo, at backwarder, she quickly hit the falling car with her stick as she shouted, 'RETURN TO SENDER!'

Spidey, seeing the car was about to her ladybug, quickly swung and pushed her.

'thanks.' Ladybug gasped as she turned to Spider-Man who nodded and said , 'She is good. We need a good plan to defeat her and destroy the object.'

'Hey! Be nice to m'lady!' chat said as He launched her into the Obélisque de Louxor; Ladybug threw her yo-yo to cut the Obélisque in half and Backwarder backward the Obélisque together again.

Quickly the backwarder started to attack chat noir as he continued to dodge.

Ladybug quikly jumped and kicked her. Before she could retaliate, all three heroes jumped over the other side of ferris wheel.

Backwarder growled as she shouted, 'Wanna play hide n' seek, huh? I've got all the time in the world; I'll find you sooner or later and once I've defeated you, you'll lead me straight to my sweetheart!'

'so because of love. Great! Hawkmoth is something. using the vulnerable emotion for his selfish intents. Can I hate him any more than this?' spidey said as the three of them hid behind a tree.

'yeah no. I don't know. Anyway, we need help from fate. LUCKY CHARM!' ladybug shouted as from thin air a pipe came out, which was caught by Ladybug.

Chat looked at the pipe and quipped, 'That's incredible! I was just thinking to myself, why don't we redo the fountain's plumbing while we're here?' spidey chuckled and Ladybug looked annoyed.

Ladybug looked around and said, 'Okay, I know what to do. She's gone away! Quick, let's make the most of it! (cuts the kite string) Take this! (She gives Cat Noir the string, then makes a cross in the sand with the pipe, then places the pipe on the center of the cross.) There! Now tie the pipe around your ankle.'

Spidey looked at Ladybug and said, 'is it this complicated normally? U sure this will work?'

'yup. But I have to stay focused to make this work.' Ladybug said while Chat tied the rope around his ankle.

'Okay, now stretch your arm out like this and take a few steps back until the string is pulled tight. (Cat Noir does so) Perfect! Now raise your arm and say "Cataclysm" backwards.'

Cat Noir gets confused about how to say "Cataclysm" backwards, Peter says, 'its Msylcatac!'

Chat said it out loud while ladybug started the timer.

Soon the plan was played out perfectly, with villain defeated and chat left in a hurry. Meanwhile spider-man stood while ladybug talked with the old lady who was aukamatised.

'so what happened?' spidey asked as he and ladybug swung to the nearest building.

'nothing. It was my fault this all happened. I should have been more serious about it and less selfish about my own situation.' Ladybug said as she sighed.

'don't beat yourself for it. All is fixed so no problem. Anyway, wanna patrol together, tonight? We could beat up some not villainous crimed.'

'hmmm. Alright, let me see. I will call chat too.'

'alright. See you tonight, at the Eiffel Tower. Cya.' And with that, spidey swung while ladybug smiled before swinging away.
