Chapter 169: Casting a Paul on Barry!
Denise was facing off against her opponent called Rupert in the colosseum.
"Drifblim use Thunderbolt!"Denise ordered.
Drifblim unleashed Thunderbolt, hitting Charmeleon directly.
"Charmeleon use Fire Fang!"Rupert ordered.
The fangs on Charmelon's mouth caught fire before the Flame Pokémon leapt up to attack Drifblim.
"Drifblim use Ominous Wind!"Denise ordered.
Drifblim waved her arms and released a purple wind at Charmeleon, sending him back.
"Now use Astonish!"Denise ordered.
Drifblim attacked Charmeleon with Astonish, knocking him out.
"Charmeleon is unable to battle! Drifblim wins!"the referee declared and waved up the green flag."So the victory goes to Denise from Twinleaf Town!"
The crowd cheered loudly at the Top Coordinator.
"And so Denise will be moving onto the 3rd Round!"the Announcer admitted.
Denise blushed and smiled brightly as Drifblim goes over to her.
"We did it, Drifblim!"Denise chuckled.
Drifblim smiled. "Drifblim."
Afterwards, the Top Coordinator joined her older twin sister and companions outside the colosseum.
"With the Second Battles, here are the upcoming battles for Round 3!"the Announcer stated.
With the second round of battles over, the battling pairs for the third round were shown.
Conway will be battling Ash and Barry was up against Paul.
In addition, both Denise and Lucas will be battling against other Trainers.
"So Paul's opponent for Round 3 is Barry."Brock said.
"And Ash is going up against Conway."Dawn remarked.
"It seems that it will be a piece of cake for you, Ash."Denise stated with a smirk."But still be careful."
"I will, Dennie."Ash answered with a nod.
"Pika pika."Pikachu responded.
"Just give it you're all."Dawn encouraged.
"Of course you know I will."
Both Dawn and Prinplup became startled at seeing Conway sneak up behind them.
"As long as you're cheering me on."Conway insisted.
"Hey, Conway."Dawn said nervously.
"After all, I happen to have a secret strategy for defeating Ash."Conway bragged.
"Secret?"Ash asked in confusion.
"Pika."Pikachu murmured.
"Of course. It is the only strategy only I could rely."Conway admitted and looked at Dawn."What? You want to know? I guess I'll make a special acceptance for you, Dawn."
"I never asked."Dawn answered with an anxious smile.
"No need to be shy."Conway sneered."So come lend me your ear-"
POW!
Denise punched Conway out cold and he hit the ground due to be annoyed with him on bothering her older twin sister.
"Hey! Quit creeping my sister out!"Denise scowled with a glare."She's not interested!"
Dawn, Prinplup, Ash, Pikachu and Brock smiled nervously while sweat dropping at Denise's action.
Ash noticed Barry rushing past them.
"Hey, Barry."Ash spoke up, earning Barry's attention."Where are you going in such a hurry."
"To go see Paul."Barry answered.
"See Paul?"Ash said in surprise.
Lucas went up the group.
"Why would you intend to do that, Barry?"Lucas questioned.
Barry smirked at his childhood friend.
"Come on, Lucas? That's so obvious!"Barry remarked."Because no matter how you look at it, Paul and I are the top two competitors in the tournament! And now the top two Trainers are going to battle head to head! It gets lonely at the top! But Paul is there to keep me company!"
This caused Ash, Dawn, Lucas and a recovered Conway to have unsure expressions since they were aware of Paul's coldness while Denise had a neutral look on her face.
"Tell us how you really feel."Dawn insisted.
"I was just going to let Paul know all this!"Barry bragged.
Lucas frowned. "You're joking, right?"
"I don't get him."Ash mumbled.
"You're over my head."Conway admitted.
"I'm what?!"Barry said angrily.
"Barry, I wouldn't do that if I were."Dawn stated.
"Why not?"Barry said in confusion.
"Because I know exactly what Paul is going to say."Dawn declared and pretends to act like Paul."Who are you?"
"No way!"Barry denied with a frown."Paul will definitely know who I am!"
"Even if Paul knows you he will say, you're pathetic and no match for me."Dawn warned.
"His also rude to other Trainers and too wrapped up in himself."Lucas added."I keep your distance if I were you."
Denise felt butterflies in her stomach upon remembering saying the exact thing to Helen during the Tag Battle Contest in Hearthome City.
"No! No! No!"Barry complained while shaking his head."A Trainer with skills in his level will have to know who I am and I will prove it!"
Barry then ran off from his friends.
"Barry, wait!"Dawn called out.
By evening, Barry finally finds Paul, who was busy looking up Barry's data for their upcoming match in the Pokémon Center.
"There you are!"
Paul turned around and saw Barry with Lucas, Denise, Ash, Brock and Dawn.
"Yeah! You!"Barry responded."Paul!"
Ash and Paul stared at each other for a moment before Barry noticed the Trainer from Veilstone City was looking at his data.
"Wait! Paul!"Barry replied."You're looking at my data, aren't you?"
"Yeah."Paul answered.
Barry smiled at Lucas, Denise, Ash, Brock and Dawn.
"Now did you hear that you, guys?"Barry remarked excitedly."Paul just proved that the strong, who the strong are and his looking at my data cause that's what I am!"
Barry looked back at Paul.
"So that you can come up with strategy, correct?"Barry assumed.
Paul closed his eyes and gave a small nod.
"Data is important."Paul declared.
Barry grinned in delight.
"Totally awesome!"Barry chuckled and became serious while pointing a finger at Paul."However, you can gather all the data you want, but it's useless!"
Paul looked confused at Barry's outburst.
So were Lucas, Denise, Ash, Brock and Dawn.
"Really?"Dawn asked."Why?"
"Don't you see that every second and every hour of every day, I am getting stronger!"Barry bragged confidently."Data is useless!"
Lucas, Ash, Brock and Dawn all sweat dropped while Denise scoffed and face palmed in respond.
"If this was a talking competition you would win first price."Brock informed.
"He definitely would."Denise muttered.
"Jealous."Barry mumbled in a sing song tone before looking back at Paul."Look, Paul. Our battle would determine the title of Top Trainer. So, in that in mind, let's give them all one awesome event."
Paul placed off the computer screen he was looking at and stood up from his seat.
"Our battle is only one of the many battles taking place in the 3rd round."Paul exclaimed."Over underestimating your abilities will only backfire."
Paul then walked past Barry to leave the room.
"Hey!"Barry complained."What's your problem?"
"Looking forward to battle you."Paul said simply."No doubt."
Paul left the room and closed the door while Barry smiled in approval.
"Now that's what I call a worthy opponent!"Barry praised."Yep! That's Paul!"
Lucas, Ash, Brock and Dawn all smiled sheepishly while Denise gave a small yet bright smile.
After Paul leaves, Barry checked out Paul's data and Ash also researched Conway, with the analysis revealing his impulsive nature and multi-skilled battle strategy.
Denise noticed Electivire on Paul's Pokémon Team.
"Paul has got an Electivire."Denise murmured.
"Must've found a electerizer to make his Electabuzz evolve."Lucas assumed.
"I've researched everything on him, but it is all outdated."Barry exclaimed."There isn't one thing that is current. So if Paul uses a Pokémon that is not in the database…"
"You're done for?"Ash assumed.
"I didn't say that."Barry stated.
Brock looked at Ash.
"How about the database on Conway?"Barry asked.
"It says his an impulsive Trainer with many different battle styles."Ash declared.
"Then does that mean his unpredictable?"Dawn said.
"Prinplup."Prinplup chirped.
Conway suddenly appeared at the opposite of the computer that Barry was using.
"Right."Conway agreed creepily."It's a big part of my appeal."
Barry, Lucas, Denise, Ash, Brock and Dawn became startled to see Conway.
"Quit doing that."Denise scowled.
"Conway, what are you doing here?"Ash asked.
"Just doing a little research."Conway answered.
"Better do more than just research."Brock informed."Because Ash is no pushover."
Conway smirked at Brock's declaration.
"Not Ash."Conway remarked."I am looking at Tobias' data."
"Tobias?"Lucas responded."The Trainer that has Darkrai?"
"Correct, Mr Diamond."Conway agreed."Tobias has made it past the 1st and 2nd Round using only his Darkrai. Not only that. He won all eight of his Gym Badges with only his Darkrai as well."
This caused Barry, Lucas, Denise, Ash, Brock and Dawn to become surprised.
"But Conway, why are you looking at Tobias' data?"Dawn asked.
"Because at some point, we'll get matched up."Conway sneered."After I beat Ash of course."
Denise rolled her eyes at Conway's respond while Ash became outraged.
"What was that?!"Ash demanded.
"Yeah. Right."Denise retorted sarcastically."As if that will happen."
"Anyway, all of you have a lovely night."Conway admitted with a wave."Bye, Dawn."
Conway then disappeared from everyone's view as Barry stood up from his seat, making Dawn sweat drop.
"I give up."Barry admitted."No point at making myself nuts."
"Now that's the spirit!"Ash praised."Just go for it!"
"You're right!"Barry agreed with a smile."Just go for it!"
"Guys, how about-"Dawn started.
"Hey, Ash."Barry remarked."How about we go for a run?"
"That's a great idea!"Ash replied.
"Pika!"Pikachu said excitedly.
Barry and Ash then rushed outside to burn off their excitement.
"What are they running for?"Dawn asked.
"They're trying to burn off some of their excitement."Brock admitted.
Denise sighed. "More like a lot of it."
"You got that right, Dennie."Lucas chuckled.
The next day, it was time for Paul and Barry's battle and was to be set on a rock field in the colosseum.
"Welcome to the Sinnoh League in the Lily of the Valley Island!"the Announcer declared."And beginning in Round 3, the battles will take place here in the main stadium! In addition, the field will change randomly after every battle, so the battlefield of the Round 3 battles will be terrain! And our battling trainers are…"
The screen showed Paul vs Barry.
"Barry and Paul!"the Announcer informed."In sure, it will be a heated exchange!"
Paul and Barry appeared in the battlefield.
Among the crowd watching were Dawn, Prinplup, Brock, Ash, Pikachu, Denise and Lucas.
"Wow!"Ash praised."I am so psyched!"
"Pika pika!"Pikachu remarked.
"Can't wait to see which kind of strategies that they will be coming up with."Brock commented.
"Me too."Dawn agreed.
"Prinplup."Prinplup chirped.
"I hope Barry will take his battle against Paul seriously."Lucas stated.
"I am sure he will, Lucas."Denise assured and thought."This is my first time seeing Paul actually battle with Barry. But still…"
"Now they can begin with their first Pokémon!"the Announcer commented.
"Alright, Skarmory!"Barry said and tossed forward a Poké Ball."Let's get going!"
Barry's Poké Ball opened and his Skarmory appeared in the air.
"Skarmory!"
"Magmortar, stand by for battle!"Paul replied.
Paul's Poké Ball opened causing Magmortar to appear in the battlefield.
"Magmortar!"
"It's Magmortar and Skarmory!"the Announcer stated.
Dawn took out her Pokédex to scan Skarmory.
"Skarmory the Armor Bird Pokémon."Dawn's Pokédex buzzed."Skarmory's body is covered with a steel-like amour, and can fly at speeds of over one hundred miles per hour."
"Skarmory is a Steel and Flying Type Pokémon."Ash informed.
"But Steel types have a disadvantage against Fire types like Magmortar."Brock commented.
Paul glared at Barry, who smirked at him.
"So let's get ready for the 3 on 3 Pokémon battle!"the Announcer remarked.
"Barry will have the first move!"the referee stated and lifted up his flags."Begin!"
"Skarmory use Spikes!"Barry ordered.
Skarmory spun around and spread Spikes all over Paul's side of the field, a strategy that will come into play anytime Paul switched Pokémon.
"Skarmory uses Spike without using a beat!"the Announcer commented.
"That's a smart move."Lucas responded."If Paul switches Pokémon, they'll get hit by Skarmory's Spikes and take a bit of damage."
Denise nodded in agreement.
"Magmortar use Flamethrower!"Paul ordered.
Magmortar unleashed Flamethrower, taking Skarmory out immediately.
"Skarmory!"Barry shouted."No!"
"Skarmory is unable to battle!"the referee declared."Magmortar wins!"
The crowd cheered in the background.
"That was one-hit KO."Lucas retorted.
"Fire Types are effective against Steel Types and that proves it."Brock complemented.
"Skarmory, return."Barry ordered."Thanks a lot."
Barry returned Skarmory to its Poké Ball.
"I know Fire Typed are weak against Water Types."Barry declared and took out another Poké Ball."Alright, Empoleon! Let's get going!"
Barry's Poké Ball and his Empoleon appeared in the battlefield.
"Empoleon!"
"Hydro Cannon!"Barry ordered.
Empoleon used Hydro Cannon on Magmortar, injuring it.
"What a hit!"Dawn remarked.
"That gave a lot of damage!"Ash chuckled.
"And of course, it Paul switches Pokémon, he will sustain damage no matter what Pokémon he uses."Barry stated confidently."Guess you can change your Pokémon. Can you, Paul?"
"Return!"Paul ordered.
Despite knowing that his Pokémon will be injured under the effects of Spikes, Paul calls back Magmortar to send out his second Pokémon.
Barry was shocked at Paul's action.
"Hold on!"Barry protested."You can't be serious!"
"Now Ursaring, stand by for battle!"Paul declared.
Paul's second Pokéball causing Ursaring to appear in the battlefield and the Hibernator Pokémon immediately suffered damage from Spikes.
"And Ursaring is sustaining damage from Skarmory's Spikes!"the Announcer declared.
"In that case, I am switching Pokémon."Barry sneered.
Barry opted for the type advantage and switched Empoleon for his Fighting-type Hitmonlee.
"A Normal Type like Ursaring is weak against a Fighting Type!"Barry complemented.
Barry's Poké Ball opened and his Hitmonlee appeared in the battlefield.
"Hitmonlee!"
"Barry brings out Hitmonlee!"the Announcer said.
Dawn took out her Pokédex to scan Hitmonlee.
"Hitmonlee the Kicking Pokémon, and the evolved form of Tyrogue."Dawn's Pokédex buzzed."Its legs double in length, and opponents are surprised by Hitmonlee's attack range when facing it for the first time."
"Bulk Up!"Paul ordered."Let's go!"
Ursaring used Bulk Up to increase its offence and defence.
"Now Ursaring's attack and defence power has increased."Brock murmured.
"But even without Bulk Up, Ursaring is still strong."Denise declared.
Barry smirked at Paul.
"Let's get the folks to know one of your best moves!"Barry insisted."Hitmonlee, Mega Kick!"
Hitmonlee used Mega Kick on Ursaring which landed a solid hit.
"A direct hit!"Ash gasped.
"Use Hammer Arm!"Paul ordered.
Ursaring fired back at his opponent with Hammer Arm.
"And Ursaring fires back with Hammer Arm!"the Announcer declared.
However, when the smoke cleared, it revealed Hitmonlee dodged Ursaring's Hammer Arm by jumping on a rock.
"Wow!"the Announcer remarked."Hitmonlee dodged it!"
"I've raised my Hitmonlee's Speed with lots of hard training."Barry remarked.
"Is that so?"Paul said smugly and gave Ursaring its next move."Use Slash!"
Ursaring activated Slash to hit Hitmonlee.
"Quick!"Barry called out."Dodge, dodge and dodge!"
Hitmonlee dodged Ursaring's Slash attacks.
"Close Combat!"Barry ordered.
Hitmonlee landed several blows on Ursaring with Close Combat.
"Hitmonlee's Close Combat nails time after time!"the Announcer declared.
"Hammer Arm!"Paul ordered.
Ursaring attacked with Hammer Arm again, sending Hitmonlee flying backward.
As Hitmonlee was about to crash into a rock, Barry offered his encouragement.
"Hitmonlee!"Barry called out."I am counting on you!"
The Kicking Pokémon opened its eyes and landed on top of a rock before jumping high in the air.
"Alright!"Barry praised proudly."High Jump Kick!"
Hitmonlee bounced back with a High Jump Kick at Ursaring, scoring another successful hit.
"And Hitmonlee jumps back with a High Jump Kick!"the Announcer admitted.
Brock smiled at Dawn.
"Courage and strategy."Brock remarked."You can see that Barry definitely earned his spot here in the 3rd Round."
"Focus Blast!"Paul ordered.
Ursaring sent a Focus Blast at Hitmonlee.
Although Hitmonlee attempted to dodge it by jumping behind a rock.
But the impact of Ursaring's Focus Blast on the rock flings Hitmonlee back.
"Hitmonlee!"Barry shouted.
"Let's finish it up with Hammer Arm!"Paul ordered.
Ursaring used Hammer Arm again.
"Hitmonlee, we're coming around the final turn!"Barry warned."Use Blaze Kick!"
Hitmonlee countered his opponent by using Blaze Kick, burning Ursaring.
"And Hitmonle's Blaze Kick hits Ursaring directly!"the Announcer declared.
However, Hitmonlee's Blaze Kick triggered Ursaring's Guts Ability.
"Did Ursaring's just powered up?"Lucas said in disbelief.
"Ursaring's special ability is Guts."Denise explained with a firm look."So when it gets hit by burn or poison, it's attack power grows."
"Hitmonlee, stay strong!"Barry demanded."Finish it off with Blaze Kick!"
Hitmonlee activated Blaze Kick again.
"Use Hammer Arm now!"Paul ordered.
Ursaring used Hammer Arm to counter Hitmonlee's second Blaze Kick.
The strong impact caused an explosion and after the smoke fades, Hitmonlee collapsed in defeat.
"Hitmonlee is unable to battle!"the referee stated and lifted up the red flag."Ursaring is the winner!"
"Ursaring wins it!"the Announcer remarked."With Hammer Arm powered up by its Guts Ability, gave its Trainer a second win!"
Barry returned Hitmonlee in its Poké Ball.
"Barry is down to his last Pokémon."Dawn commented worriedly."While Paul has all three of his Pokémon to work with."
"So everything Barry does it's crucial."Brock assumed.
"Alright, Empoleon!"Barry stated and took out his last Poké Ball."Let's get going!"
Barry's Poké Ball opened and Empoleon appeared in the battlefield once again.
"Empoleon!"
"It's due or done for Barry as Paul and Ursaring are eager to end this battle!"the Announcer informed.
"Ursaring use Slash!"Paul ordered.
Ursaring's claws glow white as it attempted to use Slash.
"Empoleon use Drill Peck!"Barry ordered.
Empoleon's beak and crown glows white and it spun like a drill as it jumped at the opponent, hitting Ursaring's Slash.
Both attacks were evenly matched and both sides take damage.
"And again two powerful moves collide!"the Announcer admitted."They were evenly matched!"
"Ursaring use Focus Blast!"Paul ordered.
Ursaring send a Focus Blast to Empoleon.
"Empoleon send it right back!"Barry ordered.
Empoleon used Steel Wing to reflect Ursaring's attack, much to Paul's shock, resulting in Ursaring taking super-effective damage from its own move.
"But how?!"Paul said in disbelief.
"How do you like that?"Barry chuckled confidently."Now give me everything you got!"
"Return!"Paul ordered.
To Barry's surprise, Paul called Ursaring back.
"And another Pokémon substitution!"the Announcer commented.
"Electivire, stand by for battle!"Paul admitted.
Paul threw out his third Poké Ball and sends out his newly evolved Electivire on the battlefield.
"Electivire!"
The Thunderbolt Pokémon immediately suffered the effect of Spikes.
Denise took out her Pokédex to scan Electivire.
"Electivire the Thunderbolt Pokémon and the evolved form of Electabuzz."Denise's Pokédex buzzed."When Electivire attacks, it pushes the tips of its two tails against its opponent."
"Electivire looks more tough than it ever had been when it was Electabuzz or Elekid."Ash declared.
Pikachu frowned. "Pika pika."
"Electric Type moves are super effective against Water Type Pokémon."Brock complemented."Paul always seems to be cool and calm and always seems to get in a shore victory."
"So how is Barry going to battle against Empoleon?"Dawn asked worriedly.
"I hate to say it, but it is clear who will be the victor at the end of this battle."Lucas stated.
"Pokémon Type advantages won't matter using this move!"Barry declared."Empoleon use Hyper Beam!"
"Electivire use Thunder!"Paul ordered.
Empoleon started off strong with a Hyper Beam and Electivire counters it with Thunder.
The attacks collide and cause a massive explosion.
"Another collision of moves!"the Announcer stated."But are they evenly matched?"
As the smoke cleared, Empoleon was breathing heavily, needing to recharge after using Hyper Beam.
"The effect of using Hyper Beam will leave Empoleon wide open."Brock warned.
Denise didn't say anything, but kept her eyes on the battle.
"Electivire use Thunder Punch!"Paul ordered.
Electivire activated Thunder Punch.
"Quick!"Barry called out."Dodge it!"
Empoleon dodged Electivire's Thunder Punch which it barely managed to do.
"See?"Barry bragged."My Empoleon still has maximum speed!"
Electivire continued to use Thunder Punch, but Empoleon dodged them all.
"Keep dodging them all, Empoleon!"Barry ordered.
Barry became alarmed when he noticed Empoleon was now cornered.
"Use Giga Impact!"Paul ordered.
Electivire used Giga Impact, striking Empoleon at point-blank range.
"Now there's another powerful move!"the Announcer praised.
"You can do it, Empoleon!"Barry called out.
Empoleon stood up at Barry's outburst.
"Thunder Punch!"Paul ordered."Let's go!"
Electivire prepared another Thunder Punch.
"Come on!"Barry encouraged."Dodge it!"
Empoleon failed to dodge Electivire's attack this time and a direct hit sends it flying back, smashing through numerous rocks in the process.
"No!"Barry shouted in shock."Empoleon!"
Empoleon tried to get up, but it was clear it was nearly at the end of its rope.
"Empoleon has taken a lot of damage!"the Announcer informed."Does it mean it's all over for Barry?"
Barry worried for his partner, but calms himself and yells for Empoleon to continue doing its best.
"Empoleon! You can do it!"Barry assured strongly."You can do it!"
Empoleon heard Barry's passionate cry and was suddenly surrounded by a blue aura, much to the shock of Barry and Paul.
Ash instantly recognizes the aura as Empoleon's Torrent Ability having been activated, increasing the strength of its Water-type attacks since its stamina was low.
"Is that-"Dawn started.
"That is Empoleon's special ability, Torrent!"Ash remarked.
"It's energy must lacking, but it's Water Type moves have really increased."Brock exclaimed.
"That's so cool."Lucas chuckled.
"Alright, Hydro Cannon!"Barry sneered."Let's go!"
With Torrent's boost, Empoleon fired a massive Hydro Cannon which proved strong enough to tear through the rocky terrain of the field with ease.
"Awesome power!"Ash said in shock."Wow!"
"This might be it!"Dawn commented.
"Don't be so sure on that."Denise thought firmly.
"Quick, Electivire!"Paul called out."Protect!"
Electivire used Protect to shield itself from Empoleon's attack.
"And Electivire completely shields itself from Empoleon's Hydro Cannon by using Protect!"the Announcer declared.
Barry was incensed that Paul would use Protect.
"Alright?!"Barry complained."What's the big idea using Protect?!"
Since Empoleon has to recharge from the attack, this allowed Electivire to attack with Thunder.
"Use Thunder now!"Paul ordered.
"Dodge it!"Barry ordered.
It was too late.
Electivire unleashed Thunder and the electric attack hit Empoleon directly.
As Electivire finished its attack, Empoleon fainted while still standing.
"Empoleon!"Barry yelled out.
Paul was declared the victor with a decisive 3-0 win over Barry.
"Empoleon is unable to battle! Electivire is the winner!"the referee stated."So, the victory goes to Paul from Veilstone City!"
The crowd cheered loudly while Barry rushed over to Empoleon.
"Paul has won his 3rd Round battle with a decisive 3-0 victory against Barry!"the Announcer informed.
Despite their loss, Barry smiled at Empoleon.
"Thanks, Empoleon. You were awesome."Barry praised."Now you take a long rest when we return to the Pokémon Center."
Barry looked at Paul, who bowed before leaving the coliseum.
"Paul won."Barry murmured.
As the sun was setting down, Paul was leaving the coliseum.
"Paul!"
Paul turned around and saw Barry rushing up to him while Lucas, Denise, Ash, Dawn and Brock looked on silently.
"I lost. But I give it my all."Barry remarked and smiled confidently."So, I can honestly say, right here that I have no regrets."
"It was a great battle."Paul admitted.
Barry became surprised.
"You think? Wow! That's awesome!"Barry chuckled and gave a thumbs up."So let's battle again someday to see whose the Top Trainer."
"Alright."Paul replied.
Paul closed his eyes while giving a small smile before walking away from Barry.
Denise smiled at Paul with a look that expressed admiration before bringing her attention back to Barry.

"Then again, there'll also be a likely chance that I might end up facing one of you two as well."Lucas reminded with a smirk."So watch out, Ash and Denise, because I won't hold back."
"Alright, Lucas."Denise sneered."Me and Ash won't hold back either."
"That's right."Ash agreed.

"But before that you all need to get through Round 3 first."Brock stated.
"You never know what Conway's planning, so stay on your guard like my sister said, Ash."Dawn instructed.
Conway makes another creepy entrance, startling Lucas, Denise, Ash, Dawn and Brock.
"Remember."Conway said evilly."My ticket to victory is my secret strategy!"
Denise glared at Conway.
"Ugh!"Denise scowled in annoyance."Would you stop that!"
"Hey, Conway."Ash said slightly.
"Remember Ash."Conway remarked, fixing his glasses."It's my secret strategy that is going to defeat you."
This caused Ash and Pikachu to glare at Conway.
