A/N: There will be a long note in the end if you're interested in reading that.

Kyo scratched her cheek as she walked to the club room. She didn't even know why she continued to go to the club. It was some time after the photo incident. Kyo had gone to the hosts and accepted their apology, now coming to the club a few days out of the week. Everyday would be too overwhelming for her, especially with how Tamaki and the twins were. She also took to sitting with Hani and Mori, the ones she was most comfortable with, other than Haruhi.

While sitting down during the club activities, Kyo had come to silently observe the interactions with everyone. It was strange to see girls eagerly coming in to talk and flirt with the boys, but she could understand the appeal. Anyone would love to be flirted with. She knew if this was a thing at Kaibara, all the girls would be dying to be flirted with by Yuki.

However, no matter how much she tried to accept the club, it was something that was always going to be strange to her, to see the glint in some of the girl's eyes when looking at the boys. It was almost...obsessive, if she had to name it, giving her the chills. She was just happy that Hani and Mori had more normal guests.

Tuning back into the conversation at the sight of Hani giving her a piece of cake, Kyo blinked, eyes meeting one of the guests by coincidence and being taken aback by the intensity. But when Kyo tried to register what she saw, the look was gone in a flash and the girl smiled politely at her and sipped her tea. Shaking her head, Kyo dug into her cake and forgot about it. Kyo was probably staring at her while zoning out.

"Can I ask why you transferred to Ouran, Kyo?" One of the girls, Mina, she believed her name was, asked.

Kyo blinked, biting her lip at the question. She was surprised to be asked that, not many of the students inquired why she came, only if their families could do business with the Sohmas.

Seeing the whole table's interest in the question, she sighed, setting down her fork. "I'm not too sure myself." She partially lied. She knew Akito wanted to separate her from Tohru and Yuki the best he could, but at the same time, she didn't know why he chose Ouran and not an all girl's academy as it was the norm for the zodiacs. "The head of the Sohmas makes decisions for us, and I can't argue against it."

"Well...either way, I'm glad you're here. I'm in 2-A as well, and it's always nice to have a new face in the class." Mina smiled sweetly.

Kyo reluctantly sent back a smile that she was sure came out as a grimace. It wasn't that she hated the fact that Mina was being friendly, but she wasn't used to it. She had accepted her fate in being a loner a long time ago. But she supposed it wouldn't be too bad to have someone she could tell the others was a girl friend if they asked.

Watching the last of the guests leave, Kyo set down her empty plate on top of others. She picked up the whole stack, heading to where Haruhi was collecting dishes from other tables.

"Oh, Senpai, you don't need to do that, I could have picked it up." Haruhi mused, thanking her for the plates as he grabbed them from her.

"Yeah Kyon-senpai, Haruhi here is in charge of cleaning up." One of the twins said, swinging his arm around Haruhi.

Haruhi had a look of disdain on his face shrugging the other off. "He's right, as part of my debt I need to get the dishes to take to the school kitchens. But thank you for your help Senpai."

Kyo shrugged slightly, collecting her bag. "I don't mind. I know I'm not paying any fees like the other guests, so I might as well not be a full freeloader and help a little, right?"

"Exactly so." Kyoya grinned, pushing his glasses up. "It's not normal to have guests stay for free other than a first day trial, so it's not a bad idea to have Kyo-san help Haruhi. Perhaps she would like to also help in serving the guests as well-"

"Not a chance." Kyo interjected, face not amused. "Don't forget I'm only here because you guys insisted for some reason on having me come." She shook her head. "I'm heading out now. I'll see you guys tomorrow if I feel like it."

"Wait, Kyon-chan!" Hani shouted, bounding up to her to present her with a box. Kyo looked down at it in surprise, her eyebrows raising as she listened to Hani. "I saw you liking the Banana cake more than the others so I saved you a piece to take home."

Kyo was oddly touched at this gesture, even if it was as small as noticing which flavor cake she liked. She silently took the box from Hani, opening it up to see a big slice of cake sitting innocently. "...Thank you Haninozuka-san." She bowed her head, flushing at her formal attitude, more so as the twins started to laugh at her. For some reason her mind thought it was appropriate in this situation.

Hani let out a giggle as well, shaking his head. "We're friends now, ne Kyo-chan? You can call me Hani!"

"Okay...Hani." She agreed, closing the box again. "I'm leaving now." She announced stiffly, giving another bow in a state of awkwardness and almost running to the door, the cake box clutched to her chest.

Watching after her, Hani couldn't help but feel endeared by Kyo's awkwardness. It was like she had never been given a gift out of friendliness.

(That night, she refused to let anyone come near her as she ate her cake, protecting it. She only relented in giving Tohru a piece when the girl admitted she'd never had the flavor.)

A/N: So. Can't say I'm surprised it took me a year to update, or that I'm sorry because while I am sorry, I know it doesn't fix anything.

Here are some of the main reasons why I haven't updated if you're interested:

-I'm lazy and I don't know how to time manage.

-May of last year, I ended up fucking up and getting a full time job instead of part time (long story), and that really took a toll on me because that was my first FT job, and I got even more burned out with being a full time student. It was a mess in general and I'm glad I was able to escape it.

-I didn't know how to progress with the story. Not in the sense you're thinking, but rather in how to make a filler chapter. I'm not sure if some out you remember, but the original second or third chapter was the physical exam. I couldn't have that because the timeline for the story was going to be moving too fast, and I wanted to add some weeks in between the first chapter events and when the exam happens. So yeah, it was bit of a struggle to make a filler at this point in the story.

Most important points if you didn't want to read above: I have the third chapter written, I just need to go back and make it more coherent and check the grammar. I will upload it in a little bit, and by that, i mean a few hours. I can't promise i will be consistent in updating, because I'm me, and I also have a lot of assignments to finish. (School really said we don't give a fuck you're in self-isolation, you're getting work.)

ALSO, thank you to those who have left comments and asked for me to update, and followed this story. It meant to a lot to me and I'm disappointed in myself in making you all wait. I read all the reviews even I never responded to them. Please feel free to leave a comment about anything regarding the story, especially if you have a question about the story itself.
