Silence.

The air in the living room was tense as Kyo, Tohru, and Yuki ate their dinner. Kyo knew that it was bothering Tohru from the way the girl continued to fidget in her spot, but Kyo had no desire to try and comfort her. She was still reeling from a few days ago at the indoor pool, the drowning and the secret being revealed.

It kept her up at night, wondering if she had done the right thing in trusting Mitsukuni. What if he lied and told Mori, told the rest of the hosts? It would eventually get around to everyone and then back to the estate and Akito and then he would-

She shook herself out of those thoughts, shoving more rice into her mouth. She trusted her gut and she trusted Mitsukuni. Everything would be fine and she would be able to stay in Ouran….Huh. It wasn't that long ago that she wanted to stay at Kaibara.

Kyo's eyes darted to Tohru as she leaned forward, a smile on her lips. "Can I ask…?"

She was interrupted by the front door opening, footsteps nearing. Shigure popped his head through the doorway, grinning. "I've come back."

"Oh! Shigure, you've come back already!"

"Ahem~ Would you like to go on vacation together tomorrow?"

"Huh?" All three of them chimed in, Yuki and Kyo more hostile than Tohru.

"Because starting tomorrow, it'll be five days of continuous holiday!" Shigure crossed his arms. "It's such a rare occasion, so why not go on vacation together?"

Kyo narrowed her eyes up at him. "Why are you suggesting such weird ideas so suddenly? Are you drunk?"

He chuckled mockingly. "Whether I drink a lot or little, I never get drunk." Ignoring both of the Zodiac's unimpressed faces, he turned back to Tohru. "So, are we going or not? Why don't we go to the Sohma summer house? How about it, Tohru?"

"Huh!?" Tohru stood up, hands waving in front of her. "But, I've already gone on a trip!"

"But that time I didn't go. In fact…I had really wanted to go…Sometimes I really envy you a lot." He murmured, hand to his cheek.

"Let's go together then!" Tohru declared, smiling.

"Stop pretending!" Kyo and Yuki growled at Shigure, who was smirking.

He shrugged, turning toward them. "Okay, okay. You two are coming as well, aren't you? Or are you really going to let Tohru and me go alone?"

Kyo's brow twitched. The last thing she wanted was to go to a summer house with Yuki and Shigure. But let Tohru suffer by herself? A small beep caught her attention, bringing out her phone to read the text.

Mitsukuni
Kyon-chan~ We're going to the ocean over the break! Are you coming? I want you to go :(((

She gave a small huff, the corner of her mouth lifting. Looking up, her smile dropped as she noticed Shigure watching her with a glint in his eyes. She stood up, shoving her phone into her pocket.

"I'm not going."

Tohru stepped over to her, big sad eyes blinking at her. "Oh, I think it would be fun Kyo! It would be so much better if you were there too."

Kyo lifted her fist, gently giving the top of Tohru's head a bop. "Maybe next time. I'm going to go on a trip with some school classmates."

Tohru gasped, clasping her hands together. "That sounds lovely Kyo! Don't worry about us then, have fun with your friends!"

"They're not my friends-"

"Are these the boys Hatori has told me about?" Kyo froze for a second, before forcibly relaxing and lifting her chin as she met Shigure's strong gaze.

"Tell Hatori to stop gossiping like an old hag."

"I'll take that as a yes."

"Boys?" Yuki interjected, glaring at Kyo. "Your friends are boys? Are you actually that stupid?"

"I'm not fucking stupid, you rat!"

"It looks like you are. What are you doing befriending boys? The secret-"

"The secret is safe!" Kyo shouted, teeth clenched hard. She felt Tohru's hand on her arm, but she shook it off. "I know what I'm doing, it's been months since I've been at Ouran, and nothing has happened. Nothing will happen!"

"There's no way you can know that." Yuki shook his head. "You'll be putting all of us in danger if you make the slightest mistake."

Kyo stood silent for a moment, then scoffed. "Just because you made a mistake like that, doesn't mean I will. I'm better than you." She turned around without waiting for his reaction, heading out of the room. "Don't count on me going with you guys."

She hated Yuki.

She hated him so much.

"Mitsukuni, you're a dirty liar."

Mitsukuni pouted up at Kyo, hand clinging on to hers. "I'm not! I had no idea Kyo-chan would invite the guests to join us."

Kyo had been picked up by Mitsukuni the day of the trip, a distance away from the house, per her request. Tohru and the others hadn't left for the summer house yet, still waiting on Hatori, and she wanted no chance of Shigure or Yuki meeting anyone, especially Mitsukuni.

Wearing another bikini, courtesy of the twins, Kyo was standing on the beach, feeling the cool winds brushing against her skin. Mitsukuni had stayed by her side, and Mori was not far behind, standing beside the short senior.

All around the beach were the guests of the club, most of them being entertained by the twins and Tamaki. When Mitsukuni had grabbed her hand, Kyo was embarrassed by the touch, seeing some of the girls staring pointedly at their hands, but no matter how much she tried to pull away or convince him to let go, he held on stubbornly.

"Why did he invite them?"

"These trips cost money, you know." The devil himself answered, scribbling on his notebook as he walked past. "We have to pay for them somehow."

Kyo rolled her eyes. "Yeah yeah, whatever."

"Do you want to go into the ocean Kyon?" Mitsukuni asked.

A flash memory of her drowning in the river came up to the front of her mind, and she swallowed. "...No."

Empathy and regret was apparent on Mitsukuni's face. "How about we walk down the shore? We can hunt for clams!"

"Okay…" She agreed, finally being released from Mitsukuni's clutches as Mori handed them a clam hunting set that consisted of a bucket and shovel.

Mitsukuni led the way down the shore toward the others, calling out to Haruhi excitedly.

Kyo turned her attention toward the shellfish that were littered on the ground, absentmindedly overhearing Mitsukuni explain how they loaded the beach for this purpose. Damn rich people.

Still, it was fun to pick out the various shellfish, focusing on the ones that she liked. They would probably cook them later in the night.

"Are you and Hani-senpai a couple?"

Kyo looked up, affronted at the blunt tone the girl had. "What?" She hadn't even heard her come up.

"Are you, and Hani-senpai, a couple." She repeated with a condescending tone.

She stood up, meeting the girl's stare. She looked a bit familiar but for the life of her, she couldn't figure out where she had seen her before. It must have been one of Mitsukuni's guests if she was so possessive over him. "I heard what you said. I just can't believe the stupid shit coming from your mouth."

"Stop avoiding the question and answer me!" The girl stomped her foot, glaring.

"I have no reason to. It's none of your business if we are or aren't." Kyo refrained from rolling her eyes at her tantrum. She wasn't intimidated by her in the slightest.

"But it is! I have been a loyal member ever since Hani-senpai joined and not once has he ever shown interest in any of us. And not even six months since you come in, and he's all over you! It's not fair." She spat out.

"Look, cry all you want about it, but I'm not going to stay away from Mitsukuni just because you want him." Hearing squeals, Kyo turned around as guests ran from Tamaki and past them.

"Mitsukuni?" The girl echoed in disbelief.

Kyo no longer paid attention to her as the senior himself came running up to her, giggling. "Tama-chan found a centipede!" He informed her, pausing to look into the bucket she had. "Whoa, you got a lot! Do you like sea urchin?"

"It's alright. I'm not picky about food, but I hate leeks, green onions, and miso, except miso soup." Kyo mumbled, walking away toward the other hosts. Mitsukuni followed her easily, both of them not acknowledging the other girl, much to her frustration.

"...game. Who can find Haruhi's weakness game~" They caught the last snippet of the twin's spiel, and Kyo sighed.

"You guys are the worst!" Tamaki huffed, shaking his head.

"Sorry, sorry, seems like you don't have any confidence?" The twins shrugged. "After all, your weaknesses are never shared with someone else unless you're real intimate with each other."

Kyo snorted. "That's such an obvious taunt-"

"The rules?" Tamaki demanded.

Kyo groaned. An idiot.

"By tomorrow evening, whoever finds her weakness first is the winner."

"And the winner gets?"

"Assorted pictures of Haruhi in middle school." Kyoya stepped in, three pictures in between his fingers.

"What the hell!" Kyo was offended by Haruhi's lack of privacy.

"Ah, I wanna join too~" Kyo turned her glare at Mitsukuni, and the senior shrugged sheepishly. "It sounds like fun Kyon…"

As everyone immediately rushed off to find their method to scare Haruhi, Kyo stayed behind. "Where did you even get those?" She asked Kyoya.

"Through certain routes." He answered, looking through the pictures leisurely. "I have some of you as well if you're interested in buying them off of me."

"That's blackmail!" She stuttered, flustered. "Destroy those!" She turned away, irritated.

.

.

.

Kyo refused to get involved with their little game, spending time alone sunbathing in the sand while the idiots tried to scare Haruhi. Much to their disappointment, it looked like Haruhi wasn't scared of anything. As she went back to hunting for shellfish, the hosts settled around Kyo, exhausted. Mitsukuni was clinging onto Mori, scared from his latest attempt to scare Haruhi, which backfired on him.

"That's it! We can't take it anymore!" Hikaru groaned.

"That's what you get for coming up with the stupid game." Kyo deadpanned.

He stuck his tongue out at her, leaving to bother Tamaki again.

Kyo stood up, stretching her limbs from being motionless for a while. She decided to look for Haruhi and hang out with her. Spotting her near the creepy cat cave at the end of the shore, she headed that way. From what she could remember, this was a private beach from another student they were given permission to use.

She paused as she heard a scream, seeing unfamiliar guys with some of the guests at the cave's cliff. Haruhi was there, an empty bucket in her hand. She had thrown her shellfish at the men. She quickened her pace as the men grabbed Haruhi, but her body froze on the pathway. What was she doing? She couldn't help Haruhi with the men around. If any of them even put his arm around her…

"Fucking matchstick arms…"

"You look like a little girl, isn't it out of your place acting so tough around us?" The men taunted Haruhi, pushing her near the edge.

"A little kid like you should quietly…enjoy swimming!" One of the men punched Haruhi, sending her off the cliff.

Kyo gasped. "Haruhi!"

"Haruhi!" Tamaki's shouted desperately, shoulder knocking into Kyo as he sprinted past her, diving in after Haruhi.

Kyo stumbled into the cave wall, by some miracle not transforming, but shaken. By now all the guests had run down from the cave, and Mori and Kyoya arrived to kick the men out of there.

She made her way back down to the shore, where the others were waiting as Tamaki emerged out of the water with Haruhi in his arms.

Haruhi coughed the water of her lungs, blinking her eyes open. "...Those bastards?" She croaked.

"I just confiscated their ID and politely asked them to leave." Kyoya answered, draping a towel over her.

"Yeah?" Tamaki spoke, his voice somber. "Kyoya, Hikaru, Kaoru. Prepare to take the clients back to the hotel. Hani-senpai, please consult Nekozawa-senpai and call a doctor." They all followed Tamaki's orders, dispersing as they took the guests away.

Haruhi protested as she was transferred into Mori's arms. "I'm…I'm okay. I don't need a doctor. The guests-"

"Haruhi." She stopped speaking as the tone in Tamaki's voice changed. "You…Are you a martial arts expert like Hani-senpai or won any diving competitions?"

"Huh…? No…"

"Then what?" He grabbed her by the shoulders. "Trying to face three men by yourself. You're a girl, where do you get off being so tough?"

"A man…a woman…those things don't matter, does it?" She questioned, not understanding.

Tamaki's face contorted in anger. "Use your brain! Stupid!"

Haruhi frowned, mouth turning downward. "I apologize for causing any trouble, but I don't understand why I need to get scolded for something more than that. I didn't do anything wrong!"

The others returned in a hurry as they heard the argument, concerned.

"Haruhi…" Kyo said, biting her lip. She knew Haruhi wasn't going to understand Tamaki's point. She shut her mouth as Tamaki turned his glare onto her.

"And you! You were right there to help Haruhi, and you didn't! What's the use of knowing martial arts if you refuse to help!?"

Kyo's mouth opened and closed as she tried to come up with a reasonable answer. But she couldn't. Tamaki was right, she was the only person there who could have prevented Haruhi from falling into the ocean and she stood like a bystander. Again.

Tamaki scoffed in disgust at her silence. He turned back to Haruhi. "Do whatever you want. I'm never talking to you again until you recognize your mistake!" He yelled, walking off.

Kyo looked at the others, breath hitching as they stared back. They probably thought she was a selfish bitch too. They probably hated her guts, thought she was useless…

"Kyo?" Mitsukuni interrupted her thoughts, hand slipping into hers. Kyo tried to pull her hand away, but Mitsukuni shook his head. "Please don't blame yourself Kyo…We both know why you couldn't."

Kyo continued to pull at her hand until he finally let her go, head downcast. "Doesn't change anything though." She walked away from Hani, the senior always ending up staring at her back.

He frowned, tired of this repeating scene. He hurried after Kyo, walking back with her to Nekozawa's mansion.

Kyo stood in the shower, letting the warm water run down her body as she tried to keep her mind clear. It wasn't working.

Haruhi could have gotten injured even more, or possibly drowned if Tamaki hadn't been there to jump after her. All because she was terrified of revealing the secret. And now everyone thought she was a horrible person.

She slammed her hand against the tiled wall, gritting her teeth as tears pricked her eyes. She could never catch a break could she? Every time she has a chance to save someone she picks herself over the other person. She was a monster she deserved to go into the cat's room she needed to be locked away from others-!

Her hand lunged for the water handle, twisting it to the right sharply and gasping loudly as the water became freezing cold. But it broke the train of thought she was having, leaving her trembling. Turning the water off, she stepped out of the shower, grabbing a towel to dry herself off roughly and getting dressed.

Hearing knocks ringing out, she made her way to the door, opening it to peek an eye out. A broad chest obscured her vision, and she opened the door wider, revealing Mori standing outside, Haruhi by his side.

Kyo stamped down the anxiety she felt at the sight of Haruhi, clearing her throat. "What?"

"Mori-senpai came to get us for dinner." Haruhi said, seemingly unbothered by her attitude.

Kyo nodded, stepping out and closing her door. "Thanks." Taking a better look at Haruhi, she noted the pink nightgown she had on, out of the norm of something she would wear.

The confusion must have been clear on her face, because Haruhi answered her. "My dad repacked my suitcase."

"...Where's Nekozawa-senpai?" Kaoru's voice drifted to Kyo as they entered the dining room, everyone already seated.

"He said he received a shock that almost rivals getting hit by lightning, so he's resting." Kyoya answered.

Kyo hurried to the empty seat next to Mitsukuni, avoiding everyone's eyes. Why was she being so timid? If she were at home with the others, she would have no trouble masking her emotions.

She missed the others gushing over Haruhi's cute outfit, getting pulled out of her thoughts by the knee pressing against her leg.

"I made sure to cook the ones you caught." Mitsukuni murmured to her, gesturing to the tray in front of her.

Something fluttered inside of her stomach, and Kyo placed her palm on it, humming. She must be hungry even through the nerves.

Her eyes met Mitsukuni's. "You should have told me you were cooking, I could have helped." She murmured.

He shook his head. "It's been a long day for you, I didn't mind."

"Here Haruhi, try some toro." Kaoru spoke up, sliding the tray to Haruhi.

The others began to dote on Haruhi, making snide remarks to Tamaki as he finally appeared from the corner he had been sulking in.

Haruhi hummed, looking at the toro in wonder. "Thanks for the…" She trailed off as Tamaki went ahead to devour the toro in front of her, sitting down with a full belly.

"Ah…there's also some crabs you can eat…" Hikaru added, handing her a plate.

"Thanks for the food." Haruhi said, cracking a leg. She turned to Tamaki, offering it to him with innocent eyes. "Senpai, crab."

Tamaki looked touched, taking the leg.

"It's only the shell, though."

"..." Tamaki dove his hand out to steal crab from Haruhi, only to narrowly miss the crab claw that stabbed the table. The two played a strange game of Haruhi trying to stab Tamaki's hand, and Tamaki trying to get crab, much to the dismay of everyone.

"Even Haruhi has a surprisingly immature side to her…" Hikaru muttered.

"A commoner's obsession with food is at an almost frightening level." Kyoya added.

Kyo bit her lip to muffle a laugh, looking down at her plate. To her surprise, she had pieces of scallop sitting there. She could have sworn she ate all of the ones she had. She glanced at Mitsukuni in suspicion, but the senior refused to look her way.

The fluttering was back. Was she still hungry?

"Fine then! I'm going to bed!" The shout drew her back across the table, seeing Tamaki stand up. "Haruhi, you go to bed too!"

A butler that Kyo didn't even know was in this mansion appeared out of nowhere, bowing to Tamaki. "Then I'll show you to your room."

Tamaki took one glance at the dark hallway and the butler, and turned to Kyoya. "Kyoya…"

Kyoya exhaled softly, standing up. "Everyone, please excuse me."

When the doors closed, Haruhi set down her crab legs. "I should learn Karate or something…" She mumbled.

"I mean, it wouldn't kill you to learn a move or two." Hikaru shrugged. "Well, it's not something that we should meddle with or anything."

"It's cool to be fearless and have a strong sense of justice, but…" Kaoru continued, raising a brow. "But even we think you should apologize for reckless behavior like today."

"But I didn't cause any harm to you guys." Haruhi defended. "I don't understand why Tamaki is getting so angry like that…but if it was because I was weak, then I apologize for that."

"That's not it, Haruhi." Mitsukuni shook his head. "Apologize to everybody. Lots and lots to Tamaki, too. Apologize for causing such a worry."

"Worry…" Haruhi echoed. "Everyone was worried?" Seeing everyone's nods, Haruhi gave a small smile. "I'm sorry."

"I…I'm sorry too Haruhi." Kyo spoke up.. Haruhi looked at her in surprise. "I could have stopped this whole thing if I had just done something…but I…" She clenched her fists, trying to get the words out.

"...I don't blame you for not helping me."

Kyo's eyebrows rose in disbelief. "You don't?"

"You don't?" The twins echoed.

Haruhi shook her head. "I know you're scared of water."

"Y-yes." Kyo nodded, taking the out, even if it wasn't intentional. "It was so close to the edge, and I froze."

Haruhi shook her head, a sympathetic look on her face. "You don't need to apologize, Senpai, I don't blame you for not stepping in."

The looks on the twins face said otherwise, but luckily, they didn't add fuel to the fire.

Not even a minute after everything was settled, Haruhi put her hand on her mouth, her face pale.

"Haruhi?"

"I don't feel too good…" She mumbled.

"I thought you were eating too much! She's gonna puke!"

"Quick, get her to a bathroom!"

It was a flurry of chaos as Mori lifted Haruhi into his arms, running out of the dining room with everyone following them.

"What's wrong? What happened?!" A voice called out, and a beautiful blonde man looking similar to Tamaki appeared, startled.

The group stopped, equally startled. "Uh…Who are you…?"

"Young master, your attire…" A maid hurried to the blonde man, clothes in her arms. She and the butler from before helped him put on his clock and black wig on, which also came with a weird cat puppet…?

The man spoke again, this time in a more creepy tone. "What's wrong…? Even Beelzenef was surprised…"

Mori paid no mind to him as he continued to help Haruhi to a bathroom, leaving the rest behind.

"Nekozawa-senpai, what's with the wig?" The twins circled Nekozawa, studying him closely.

So this was the infamous Nekozawa. Kyo regarded him with a brief glance. He kind of reminded her of Hanajima.

"Ah, don't touch!" Nekozawa was frazzled, trying to escape the twin's clutches. He stepped away, almost running into Kyo if she hadn't quickly moved out of the way. "Oh, and who are you?" He straightened as he noticed her. He stopped and stared at her, almost through her instead of at her.

"Uh…"

"Oh my…" Kyo's eyes widened as Nekozawa got on his knees to bow, even having his puppet bow with him. "I never thought this day would come…"

"Nekozawa?" Mitsukuni asked, his face the same as the others as they all stared at the senior.

"Hey…stop bowing…!" Kyo reached down to pull at his cloak, feeling uncomfortable. That feeling got heightened as her hand was grabbed by Nekozawa, and he looked up at her.

"The cat spirit!"

Kyo's blood ran cold. How…?

"The day has finally come when I've been blessed with the cat spirit's presence. My family has always believed in you Neko-sama!" Nekozawa continued, the look in his eye scaring Kyo.

"Get him off…" Kyo whispered, repeating it louder as her breathing picked up. "Get him off!"

Mitsukuni snapped out of the shock, placing his hand on Nekozawa's arm to push him away, not too kindly. "Umehito, stop." His mouth was a thin line, standing in front of Kyo as Nekozawa tried to get past him.

The twins came to Kyo's rescue, pulling Nekozawa further away.

"Nekozawa-senpai, snap out of it!" Hikaru called out, both of the twin's holding his arms. "What are you even talking about?!"

"You all have no idea the being in front of you! If only I can see her true form, then it truly will be a blessing!" He rambled, not fighting the twin's hold.

Kyo covered her ears, shaking her head. "Shut up, shut up, shut up!" She shouted, backing up until her back hit the wall. This can't be happening…how does he know? He can't know! "Stop talking!"

Hands covered her own as Mitsukuni stood in front of her, but she couldn't make out the words he was speaking. He looked over his shoulder for a moment before moving a hand away from her head, pulling her down the hall and away from everyone. He didn't stop until they entered a room, the door slamming shut as he led Kyo to the bed and sat her down.

Kyo felt like she couldn't catch her breath. How did he know? He had never met her, she had never done anything to give herself away. How did he know?

"Kyo, breathe. Please." Mitsukuni's voice sounded distant, and Kyo shook her head.

Before she knew it, her head was being pushed between her knees. She floundered until her hands were caught by Mitsukuni, anchoring her as she closed her eyes, trying to calm down.

It felt like a long time before she did, and she sat up slowly once her brain cleared. How did he know?

"I don't know."

Kyo brought her eyes up, staring helplessly at Mitsukuni. She didn't know she had said that out loud. "I never met him." She murmured.

"I know."

"Did you tell anyone?"

Mitsukuni's eyes showed the hurt he felt at her question, but she tried not to feel guilty. It had been plaguing her mind since she told him the secret; she had to know.

"I didn't. I promised I wasn't going to tell anyone, and I wasn't lying." He stated, his grip on her hand loosening. Kyo moved her hands to be the one holding onto Mitsukuni, clinging onto him.

"I'm sorry…I just had to know." She made sure they were making eye contact. "I trust you."

There was a minute where they held each other's gaze. Kyo never noticed the specks of hazel in Mitsukuni's eyes before.

Kyo cleared her throat, getting her mind back on track now that she was calmer. "Okay, so Nekozawa somehow could tell I carry the cat spirit, even though he just met me."

Mitsukuni sat down beside her, nodding. "He's the president of Black Magic Club, and if I recall correctly, his family worships cat gods."

Her brows furrowed at that. Cat gods? Black magic? What the fuck did that even mean? She fell back onto the mattress, covering her face with her hands.

"Hikaru and Kaoru are with him right now. What if he says something to them?"

"If I hadn't known your secret, I would have thought Nekozawa was insane." Mitsukuni reassured her. "Hikaru and Kaoru already think Nekozawa is insane, there's no way they would believe anything he said."

"But what if they do? I had a fucking panic attack out there." Kyo groaned. She lowered her hands, staring up at the ceiling. She still felt the lump of anxiety in her chest, threatening to squeeze the life out of her.

"They won't. And I'll talk to Nekozawa to-"

"Don't." She pleaded. "It'll look even more suspicious to the others if you talk to him. Just…Just let the others believe it or not. There's no actual proof he has other than his sixth sense or whatever it is."

A bright light filled the room as a loud rumble followed after it, the beginning of a thunderstorm. Fast droplets of rain hit the window.

Kyo sighed, exhaustion settling in her bones. Stupid rain. "Look, let's just forget about this right now. I don't have the energy to deal with this right now."

Mitsukuni didn't look convinced, but he didn't have any other option. "...Okay. But I'm still going out there to make sure everything is fine."

She only grunted, already slipped under the covers. Anxiety still swirled inside of her, but she ignored it as she stared at the ceiling across from her. She faintly heard Mitsukuni's footsteps heading away from here, the door opening and shutting.

.

.

.

The next time Kyo was aware of herself, the sunlight was shining into the bedroom, seagulls loud as they made their voice known. She doesn't remember falling asleep, yet she can't recall the hours between now and when Mitsukuni left. Sitting up, she let the duvet fall off, exposing her to the chill air.

Surprisingly, any of the anxiety she had had disappeared, leaving only resignation. She only wanted to go home, lock herself in her room.

Busying herself with packing, she headed out the door dressed and with her duffle around her shoulder. It seemed she woke up late, the hosts already standing by the doors and luggage being put in the cars.

"Were you guys waiting for me?" Kyo spoke up, bringing their attention toward her. Her eyes darted between the twins and Mistukuni, trying to decipher any small change in their faces. But neither of them held any sign of suspicion or curiosity.

Mitsukuni grinned, holding up a croissant. "Uh huh! I saved you a croissant since you missed breakfast, Kyon!"

"Thanks." She accepted the pastry, biting into it.

"Alright now that Kyo's here we can start heading out." Kyoya declared, heading out the doors to the limos. Haruhi followed right behind him, ignoring Tamaki as he rambled behind her.

"What's with them? Did they get into another fight?"

Mitsukuni giggled, covering his mouth. "I'll tell you about it in the car! You're gonna laugh so hard."

Kyo's lip turned up, humming. "Alright."

"I'm home." Kyo called out, kicking off her shoes as she closed the front door behind her. A silent house answered back, which was rare to see Shigure not home for once. Shrugging, she headed upstairs to her room, tossing her bag inside. She'll unpack when she makes herself something to eat.

Passing by Tohru's room, she paused at the ajar room. Peeking in, she spotted Tohru laying in her room, a small towel on her forehead. "Tohru?" She spoke softly, pushing the door open more.

Tohru blinked her eyes open, gaze moving to Kyo. She smiled, trying to sit up. "Kyo…you're back! How was the ocean? I bet it was lovely, wasn't it?"

Kyo moved forward, hand out as she tried to wave Tohru down again. "Yeah it was alright, but nevermind that, what happened to you? Are you okay?"

"Oh this?" Tohru pointed to herself. "I just had a cold…Yuki tended to me and made me stay in bed. But I'm fine, I promise! I tried to tell Yuki but he didn't listen…" She pouted at the end.

Kyo shook her head. At least the rat knew to do something right. "Where is he now? He and Shigure are gone."

"I'm not sure…I took a nap." Tohru said sheepishly.

"Right…I'll be back." Kyo turned around and left the room, making her way into the kitchen.

Thirty minutes later, she returned to Tohru's room holding a tray of tea and a bowl of soup. "Here, eat it while it's still hot." She mumbled, laying it on Tohru's legs. She ignored her surprised gasp and thankful words, grabbing a stool to sit next to the bed. "Yeah yeah, it's no big deal. I know those morons didn't feed you, and they wouldn't be able to anyways. Now shut up and eat." She crossed her arms, waiting impatiently as Tohru finally began to eat.

"It really was delicious Kyo, thank you…" Tohru began, setting down her spoon. "I wanted to ask…was something the matter? You've been distant lately, and I'm worried."

Kyo looked away, remembering back to when Tohru tried to talk to her before they left on their trips. "I…I'm fine. Just had a lot going through my brain."

"It…Did I do something wrong?"

Kyo's brows furrowed and she turned her gaze back to Tohru. "No, why would you say that?"

"I-I just thought maybe you felt uncomfortable going to my Mom's gravesite…you and Yuki had been acting weird since that day…" Tohru admitted, biting her lip in worry.

"Tohru, I promise it has nothing to do with you or your mom's gravesite." Liar*. "I was just in my own head about other things. You don't have to worry." She insisted.

Tohru visibly deflated in relief. "That's good. I mean! Not that I'm glad you're still going through something, but I, um-"

"I get it." Kyo shook her head, chuckling. She stood up, taking the empty tray. "Just focus on getting better, alright?" Walking to the door, her grin faded, leaving a tense frown in its wake.
