My hand is still messed up. The doctors are saying I have a nerve infection. I have no idea. I'm still out of work too. It's been a struggle. I don't have a preview because I only have this chapter written out. We're nearing the end, so chapters will be longer. I have a bit more I want to do though.

Chapter Forty-four: Ceremonious

Hinata

It's been two years since Naruto returned with Orochimaru to the village. A lot has changed. So many babies and marriages throughout many of the villages. It's nice seeing everyone so happy. I'll admit that it hurts sometimes to see Naruto, but I'm happy seeing him so happy with Orochimaru.

And, I have to admit, being with Shino has been a blessing. He never gets upset if I'm feeling down. He's been there supporting me and helping me through these difficult times. I've slowly but surely moved on from Naruto and have fallen in love with my old teammate.

Honestly, I feel like I'm just using him, but he doesn't see it that way. I'm glad. It's not like that at all. I truly do care for him. I know some would say that Naruto is just in a phase, but I can see how truly happy he is with Orochimaru.

Today, they're going to officially seal their love. Naruto asked me to help his future husband? wife? (I'm not sure what Orochimaru wants to be called.) get ready for the wedding.

So many preparations, and everyone has been helping out. It's taken a lot to get everyone gathered up with gifts that are meaningful to the couple. I do hope that they'll like what I'm going to give them even if it's not much.

I offered to fix Orochimaru's hair. There's so much you can do with it since it's so long and very well kept. Honesty, I think him returning to the village has helped him tremendously. He seems so much younger and happier.

"You have such beautiful hair, Lord Orochimaru," I say as I brush his hair.

"Haven't I told you you don't have to call me that, my dear?"

"My apologies; it's a force of habit."

"It's fine. I appreciate you doing this for me. I know it must be difficult for you."

"No, it's fine. I'm happy for you and Naruto. I know it's important to both of you, and I wouldn't miss this day for the world."

"Naruto would be upset if you did," he says, looking at me through the mirror of one of the shelters Tenzo built as the wedding will be held outside right below the Hokage monument.

"Right," I smile as I begin braiding part of his hair. "Let me know if it's too tight."

"I can handle it, but I will."

"It must be strange getting married to Naruto, huh?"

"I thought he'd never ask," Orochimaru smirks.

I giggle. "Naruto takes a bit of time to do such things."

"I would have waited forever for him."

"You really do seem happy with him."

"I am."

"I'm glad. It seems you're adjusting to living in the village again too."

"I try to keep my distance from it unless I have to absolutely come in, but Naruto wants me to come in more and more, especially since Maruta deserves to know his home."

"I agree. He's such a sweet child."

"He's spoilt."

"And who's fault is that?" I smirk a bit.

"Kit's?"

I burst into a fit of giggles, having to pull back slightly to cover my mouth as the giggles turn into coughs. "S-sorry," I gasp with a little chuckle, clearing my throat. "It's just funny since you're the one with Maruta most of the time."

Maruta, who is in a little baby basin out of the way, babbles in his sleep, chewing on a snake plushy.

The Sannin smiles at his son, licking his cheeks for a moment then shrugs. "Still Kit's fault."

I grab a beautiful purple beaded hair piece and put Orochimaru's hair into a bun, letting some of his hair fall along the sides of his face.

"Naruto's not going to be able to keep his hands off of you."

Orochimaru fake groans. "Great. I won't be able to sleep at all on our honeymoon."

I giggle. "Nope!"

"Hmm. Should I blame you then, my dear?"

"Well, does it make you happy?" I ask as I wheel the chair he's sitting in around.

He looks at me, smiling softly. A real smile full of genuine happiness. "Yes, yes it does."

Iruka

"Iruka-sensei?" Naruto asks, looking out at the village right outside Ichiraku Ramen he had taken me out to tonight.

"Yes, Naruto? Are you okay? You seem troubled. Are you and Lord Orochimaru having problems?"

"No, nothing like that. I mean we've been working on the wedding preparations. It's a lot harder than I thought it'd be, but…"

"Well, weddings are a big part of the ones involved lives after all. It's a very special day that you celebrate with the one you love after all."

"Yeah, and I want to do this, but… I… well," he turns to look at me, fidgeting. "I… I wanted to ask…"

"What is it, Naruto? You can ask me."

He bites his lip, looking away. "I… I know I've been a lot of trouble. I know that Oreo isn't very well liked, so honestly, I don't even know who will come to the wedding-"

"Naruto-"

He looks at me, holding his hand up. "Let me finish, Iruka-sensei."

I close my mouth, nodding.

"And I know Oreo is afraid, but he also wants me to have a wedding like I want and I want my friends to be there, of course. And well, the point is… I don't have my father anymore, and… I… I want you to be my father in my wedding."

I blink. "You…"

"If you can't or don't want to do it, it's totally cool!" he exclaims. "I… I was just joking anyway. Hahaha!" he fake laughs, rubbing the back of his head. "Umm… I… I'm gonna go check on Oreo now!" He turns to run off.

I grab his wrist. "Naruto."

He pauses, looking at me. "Yes, Iruka-sensei?"

I smile. "I'll be glad to."

Naruto turns around, tears sliding down his face. "I-Iruka-sensei, you-"

"On one condition."

"Anything!"

"Be happy."

Naruto beams. "I will!"

I still can't believe he chose me to be his father in his wedding. Now it's even more imperative that I get him and Orochimaru something good. But what? The wedding is today! Why did I wait until the last second? No… Honestly, maybe? No… but…

I sigh, flopping back on the hill.

Some would say what I'm doing in the wedding is good enough, but is it?

I could offer to watch Maruta, but would that really be a gift? Honestly, I haven't really spent that much time with the child, and I do want to teach him when he's old enough at the ninja academy.

But that's not a gift.

"Ugh, Iruka, you're such an idiot!"

"You shouldn't say such things about yourself, Iruka," Lord Sixth says.

I scramble to stand up and bow.

"You know you don't need to do that," he sighs.

"I… well, you are Hokage."

Even behind the mask, I can tell he's frowning. "Unfortunately."

"Well, Naruto will take over one day."

"I know. Anyway, so you're having trouble with a gift too?"

"Yeah. I feel like none of the ideas I have are good enough," I sigh, sitting back down on the hill.

"I know what you mean. My issue was getting all the invitations out in time and making sure that the villages were safe too."

"Yeah, Naruto would be upset if anyone missed the wedding."

"Yeah, but then again, there seemed to be some people who were hesitant to even come."

"Because of Orochimaru, right?"

"Yes."

I sigh. "To be frank, I'm not big on them being together, but I want Naruto to be happy. Whatever it is that he sees in Orochimaru, I'm not going to ruin that for him. He deserves happiness."

"Yes, I agree. They have a lot of work ahead of them, but they seem determined to make it work."

"That's true love right there."

I nod and we stare out at the village.

"I was thinking I was going to take care of Maruta while they were on their honeymoon, but then I thought that was a stupid gift idea."

"You're too hard on yourself. I think that's a great idea. It would help them a great deal. I'm sure they haven't had any alone time together in a while with Maruta's constant needs, and Naruto's studying to become the next Hokage."

"That's true. Naruto told me Orochimaru has a difficult time letting go of Maruta though."

Kakashi frowns. "That could cause issues later for certain."

"Didn't it already before the child was born?"

"You're referring to when Orochimaru attacked Tenzo, yes?"

I nod. "I still don't understand what happened…"

Kakashi sighs, rubbing his eyes. "Honestly, none of us do."

"Has Naruto mentioned anything about any attacks like that in a while?"

Kakashi shakes his head. "No, it seems he's been pretty calm since Maruta has been born. I think focusing on his son has been a blessing and a curse."

"I have to agree. He's able to focus on his son's care instead of… whatever it is he's trying to do, but at the same time, he's making Maruta too dependent and attached to him, so he's not able to fully form bonds with other people."

"Luckily, Naruto is able to take Maruta to his appointments, but that's rare."

"Well, then I think I"ll offer to watch Maruta as a gift. It'll give them both time they need, but more importantly, help Maruta be around other people without his parents being around each other."

"I think that's a great idea, Iruka."

"And what about you? What are you getting Naruto and Orochimaru for their wedding?"

He turns to face me. "I'm paying for this entire ceremony."

I blink a few times. "You what?!"

Naruto

I sit on the bench inside the shelter that Captain Yamato built for me to get ready for my and Oreo's wedding. I can't believe I'm marrying Oreo! I'm super excited and super nervous!

Hinata offered to help Oreo get ready, and to my surprise, Sakura offered to help with my preparations. Honestly, I think I look pretty good. Sakura really is amazing. She made me look presentable for Oreo.

I know this is difficult for her...

"You know, Sakura…" I begin.

"Naruto, I already told you I'm going to be in the wedding. It's important to you, and I want to be there for you," she says from beside me.

I smile a bit nervously. "Yes, but you hate Oreo…"

She frowns, looking out the window directly across from where we're sitting. "Well, I won't deny that he makes me uncomfortable, but… I know he means a lot to you, and you mean a lot to me."

I look down. Why does it have to be this way? I thought two years of Oreo being back in the village could have helped this, but Oreo still gets glares and people talking behind his back. It's not fair!

"I just want people to be here for Oreo too. It's his wedding too!"

"Naruto, it's not that easy. It's difficult to accept such a huge change. We're all doing the best we can."

I sigh. "I… I know. I'm sorry. I just… if people knew him like I did then…"

"That's the thing though, Naruto, you're the only one who knows him that way. It's just how it is. I know things about Sasuke no one else does."

I look at her. "R-really?"

"Umm, yeah," she says, blushing a bit.

"Umm like what?"

She glares at me, raising her fist. "Like hell I'm gonna tell you!"

I hold my hands up. "S-sorry I asked!"

She relaxes, eyes softening. "Sorry."

"It's okay. Umm are you sure you're okay?"

She stares out again. "I guess I'm just worried about you. I know how manipulating he can be, and I don't want to lose you…"

I put my hand on her shoulder. She looks at me, tears stinging her eyes.

"Naruto…"

"Listen, Sakura, I know this is difficult for you. I know it's difficult for so many to accept Oreo and I are in love, getting married, and have a son together. I know he's done horrible things, but he's not a bad person. He's been hurt so much. I'm not saying it excuses what he''s done, but I'm trying my best to help him and for him to understand what he's done is wrong. So please, don't turn your back on him, okay?"

She sniffs, nodding. "I… for you, Naruto."

"And?"

"M-Maruta," she smirks.

"And?" I press teasingly.

"Your future babies."

I laugh. "Well, I'll be glad to have more with Oreo."

"I'm sure you would," she deadpans.

"Hey, it's not my fault he's sexy!"

"Umm… well, I wouldn't go that far, but-"

"I would!" I grin. "Dammit, Sakura! Now I want to pound that pastry, ya know!"

This time, Sakura doesn't hold back and punches me in the arm, sending me flying onto the floor.

The impact of me hitting the floor hard doesn't even phase my son.

I stand up, brushing my kimono off. "Damn, Sakura, you're more monsterous than-"

She holds her fist up, glaring at me as she stands.

"S-sorry! I… I surrender!"

She lowers her fists. "Stop being a pervert. You can do that on your honeymoon. Right now, we need to get outside to your wedding."

"Right," I smile.

She smiles. "And Orochimaru."

I been at her.

We start heading outside, Sakura leads, and stops in front of the door. "Sakura?"

She turns around and looks at me. "Naruto, are you sure this is what you want?" she whispers.

I look down at her slightly, touching her face gently. At one time, I thought I was madly in love with this woman, but I realized my love is for someone who was once an enemy to my home.

"Yes, I'm sure. I love Orochimaru with all of my heart. I want to spend the rest of my life with him. I know it's crazy, but it's the truth."

She stares at me for a while, putting her hand over mine. "Okay, but if he ever hurts you-"

"He won't," I whisper, "Oreo isn't like that anymore."

She nods. "But promise me you'll tell me if anything happens."

"I promise. Now, let's go. I want to see my future wife."

She arches a brow. "Don't you mean husband?"

I blink. "Well, he's a mom and mom's are wives, so…"

"Yes, but he's a man, so wouldn't he be your future husband?"

"Oh hell let's just ask Oreo when we see him what he wants to be called!" I laugh as we go outside.

As we step outside, I can only take on one sight before me. There are so many people and nice things, but only Oreo has my attention.

He's standing several feet away from me near the opposite shelter. He has his beautiful silky black hair put up in a bun with bits of it braided, being held by some sort of purple beaded like ring thing. (Hey, not good with hair stuff!) Some of his hair falls down his lovely Oreo face. He's in a beautiful white kimono with a purple sash ain nd trim.

You're so beautiful, Orochimaru…

I feel many stares as I walk over to my lover. He smiles at me. I stop in front of him, reaching out for him.

He stares at me, holding out his hand to me.

I take it. "Are you ready?" I whisper.

"Yes," he whispers.

"Then let's go, my Oreo Snake."

He smiles. "Yes, let's."

"Oh, before we go, Oreo, I have a question."

"Hmm?" Oreo asks, raising a brow.

"Umm, are you going to be my wife or husband?"

Oreo blinks. "I'm whatever you want me to be, Kit."

I stare. "Umm… what? Oreo! I need to know!"

Oreo laughs. It makes my heart skip a beat. I can't believe at one time he was my enemy.

I smile as we hook our arms together and begin the walk.

Orochimaru

Naruto picks me up and swings me around as soon as we're officially wedded. So many cheers surround us as our lips connect in a deep kiss.

I gasp as he finally pulls away and sets me down gently.

"I love you," he whispers, touching my face gently.

I stare into his eyes, touching his face too. "I love you too, Naruto."

We turn away from each other.

"I can take Maruta now, Hinata," I say with a smile.

"No, that's okay, I don't mind watching him. Enjoy the ceremony," she says.

I frown. "But-"

"Oreo," Naruto says, grabbing my hand and giving it a squeeze.

I look at my husband. "I… but Kit-"

"Oreo, come on," he says, pulling me away from my two year old son.

"B-but!" I exclaim.

"Let's go have some food, Oreo!" Kit exclaims cheerfully, dragging me to one of the many tables of food.

He lets go of me.

I look behind my shoulder, watching Maruta snoozing in Hinata's arms. I start to go back.

Naruto grabs my arm. "Orochimaru."

I tense. He rarely calls me that.

I look at him.

His eyes soften a bit. "He's fine. He's going to be fine; I promise. Let's enjoy ourselves, okay?"

"I… but what about the reapers?" I whisper.

"Hinata won't let the reapers get him, okay? None of us will. You trust us, right?"

I look around at everyone. Many are busy either getting food, eating food, playing games, or talking amongst themselves. No one seems outright annoyed to be here. Even so, I can tell some people aren't the happiest to be here.

"I… I think so…"

He touches my face, making me look at him. He kisses me gently then rests his forehead against mine, closing his eyes.

I close my eyes, breathing in his scent.

"I love you. Please trust me, Oreo."

I nod.

We pull away from each other.

"Alright! Let's pig out!" Naruto grins, grabbing two plates. "Whatcha want, Oreo Snake?" he asks as he starts piling all kinds of things onto his plate.

I look at the food. "I can get my own food, Kit."

"Nope!" he grins. "You're my umm whatever you are- ooo! Hubive!"

"What?"

"Hmm… maybe Wivub? No… Dammit! We need a word for what you are, Oreo!"

"Kit, you're thinking too hard about this. It's whatever you want me to be. I don't mind."

"Yeah, but… I mean it's difficult cause you're a guy, but you're a mom and-"

"Well, actually…"

"Wait, you're not a guy?"

"Well, I am right now I suppose…"

Naruto stops getting food and looks at me. "So, if I wanted you to be a woman…"

"I can make that dream come true."

He stares at me for a while. "You're something else, Oreo, you know that?"

I laugh, taking the empty plate from him. "All in a days' work, Kit, all in a days' work.

After Naruto and I talk to the guests-his friends-and Naruto eats half the buffet, it's time to receive gifts.

Naruto and I sit beside each other at a rather large table. (One that Tenzo made along with the rest of the furniture for the ceremony today.) His friends line up and one at a time, holding their precious little ones if they have them, and give us gifts.

We received various gifts of new ninja tools and weapons, new clothes, household objects, gift certifications for various restaurants and stores, money (quite a bit of it), books, food (not enough for Kit's appetite, but quite a bit too much for my taste).

"Naruto, Lord Orochimaru," Iruka says approaching the table.

"Hey, Iruka-sensei. Thank you for being my dad; it meant a lot to me, ya know?"

Iruka rubs the back of his head, chuckling nervously. "Yeah, it's no problem."

"So, what's up?"

"You look quite nervous," I say softly.

He jumps back a bit. "I… well, it's…" He looks over at Maruta who is trying to chase Little Booper, slithering as best he can and falling occasionally still.

Even though Maruta is two, due to his lack of legs, movement is still difficult for him. He's gotten a lot stronger and faster in his movements, but he has a difficult time "walking". He'll simply lie down and move his tail and pull himself up with his arms. He's quite strong and does well, but Naruto, Sakura, and I have agreed he needs to "walk" eventually.

Iruka looks back at us. "Well, I was wondering…"

"Just say it, Iruka-sensei. It's about Maruta, right?" Kit asks.

He nods. "I couldn't think of a suitable gift, and I thought, I could watch Maruta while you were gone on your honeymoon. I was also thinking I could see how smart he is, and try to teach him some things. Not anything too big, but…"

Naruto and I take in what Iruka is saying.

"If you two don't want that then I… I can get something for you! I just-"

"I'm fine with it, Iruka-sensei," Naruto says, stopping him. "But Oreo…"

I watch my son for a bit. He flops over in the grass, wiggling his little tail and giggling as Chocho tickles his belly.

"We're going to be gone for a while…" I say carefully.

"On your honeymoon, yes. I think it'll be good for the two of you to just spend some time together. You both have been constantly around Maruta, trying so hard to help him, but I think it'll be good for the three of you to be separate from each other."

"Oreo, I think he's right. You're around Maruta-"

I lash my tongue out, grabbing Maruta and pulling him into my arms.

"Mom! Why can't I do that?" Chocho pouts.

"Because you're not from Orochimaru's clan, we've already discussed this," Karui says, looking up from talking to Ino.

Maruta sticks his little tongue out and licks my face.

(His tongue has certainly grown quite a bit since his hatching)

"So damn cute!" my husband beams.

"Kit, we can't just leave him behind. He needs us…"

"But Oreo, he's gonna be in good hands. Don't you think so?"

"I…"

"I promise I'll take good care of him, Lord Orochimaru."

I look at Iruka. Can I trust him? What if the reapers come while I'm gone? What if someone tries to kill Maruta while I'm gone? I… I can't… I can't lose him! Not Maruta!

"But-"

"Oreo, I'm going to leave a toad here and a shadow clone just in case the reapers," Naruto whispers in my ear.

I nod. "Okay, Kit," I whisper. I look at Iruka. "I… I'm willing to let you watch my son while Naruto and I are gone; however, I will have a snake with him at all times, and if anything happens you have to report to us immediately."

"I can certainly do that. I promise I'll protect him and help him."

"Make sure he goes to all of his appointments on time and he gets plenty of food and rest. I have a list of his favourite foods, what he can and can't eat, what his schedule is like-"

"Oreo, he can get that from Sakura."

"Well, yes, but-"

Sakura walks over to us and puts a hand on my back.

I look up at her.

"Calm down; it's going to be okay," she whispers.

I know this is difficult to even touch me, but… it means a lot she's willing to try and keep me calm.

"I think it's a good idea that the two of you are going away for a bit, and Iruka-sensei is going to watch Maruta for you two. I'll make sure he's healthy," she says, handing Iruka a notebook.

He takes it. "And this is?"

"All of Maruta's medications, food likes and dislikes, what he can and can't have, activities he's required to do, his feeding schedule, and his shedding schedule-"

"Wait; he has a shedding schedule."

I frown. "He's part snake."

"Well, yes, but…" Iruka says, opening the notebook and skimming. He gasps. "H-he has v-venom?!"

Maruta grins, showing his little fangs.

"Are you sure you want to take care of my son now?" I smirk.

"Oreo! Be nice!"

I chuckle. "My apologies, Kit, I couldn't help it."

"The venom is very mild; it doesn't affect us," Sakura says.

"Only the various creatures he likes to eat," I say.
"Oh, so I… I'm supposed to feed him… "creatures"?" Iruka says, swallowing nervously.

"Ice cream too," Naruto says.

"Ice cream?"

"Yes, for some reason, he loves it."

"It explains why you ate it so much while you were pregnant, Oreo."

"Indeed."

"Iruka-sensei, I'll help you with Maruta."

"Thank you, Sakura," Iruka says nervously.

"You don't have to take him," I say seriously.

"I… I know, but I want you and Naruto to have a good honeymoon…"

"I would have a good one regardless because I'm with someone I love," I say.

"I…"

"Oreo…" Naruto whispers, smiling with tears falling down his face.

I look between my husband, his friend, and teacher. I close my eyes and hand my son to Iruka. "Please take care of him," I whisper.

He gently takes him gently. "I will. I promise."

Naruto

It takes a few days to get to the place of my and Oreo's honeymoon. Shikamaru and Temari paid for our honeymoon. I really don't get why everyone paid for so much, but it's really nice that they did!

"Karin and Suigetsu did a wonderful job fixing this place up," I say as we enter Oto.

"Yes, and you know where to go, Kit?"

"Of course, Oreo!" I smile, picking him up and holding him close as we make our way through the village. Only a few people are around. The village is fairly young after all.

About thirty-minutes later, Oreo and I get to a large log cabin deep in the forest that has a built-in hot spring. After checking in, I carry Oreo to our "house" that we'll be staying in for the next month.

It's a very beautiful place, I must admit, but my Oreo Snake is much, much more beautiful.

I carry him to our room, laying him on the silk bed that's covered in petals. I keep an arm around his waist and one against his face as I kiss him gently and deeply.

Oreo kisses back as well, wrapping his arms around my neck.

Our kiss becomes deeper. We break after a bit, panting slightly.

I stroke my lover's face gently. "I've been waiting for this moment all of my life," I whisper.

Oreo looks at me with those gorgeous exotic eyes. "Are you sure you want me, Naruto?"

I press my forehead against his, breathing his intoxicating scent in. "It's too late now; you stole my heart, Orochimaru."

His breath catches his in throat and his heart pounds. "Naruto… I…"

I silence him with a deep kiss, pulling him against me. I can feel his heart pound against mine and our erections brushing against each other.

Oreo moans softly into the kiss.

I pull away, kissing his neck. "You're so beautiful."

"Naruto," he gasps.

"I love you so much."

Oreo closes his eyes, relaxing into the mattress as I slowly slip off his clothes and the jewelry he wore for our wedding. (He refused to part with them until we got here.)

Oreo slips my clothes off as well.

Surprisingly, he doesn't get mad when our clothes are tossed on the floor in a messy pile.

"I'm never going to let you out of my sight," I say as I sit up and take in my lover.

Oreo looks at me and smiles, holding a bottle of lube between his fingers. "Then what are you waiting for, Kit?"

"How…? When did you…?"

"I have my ways, Kit," he smirks.

I stare and then burst into laughter then I boop him on the nose gently.

Oreo boops me back.

I stare at him for a bit then kiss him deeply.

Oreo responds as always.

After we break the kiss, I grab the lube, putting some on my fingers. I move so I'm between his legs. Oreo spreads them, and I slip a finger inside him gently.

Oreo gasps.

"Our first time as a married couple. I'm a bit nervous," I chuckle nervously.

"Don't be. It's just a piece of paper, Kit."

"Well, yeah, but I know being married is a big deal, so… I mean… I always wanted to get married and have a family, so…"

Oreo touches my face. "Relax; I know it'll be wonderful."

I lean into his touch. "Thank you, Oreo."

He smiles, taking his hand away and relaxes, bucking his hips slightly.

I add another finger and lean down a bit, sucking on his cock.

Oreo moans, bucking his hips. "Naruto…"

I hum, continuing to pleasure my lover. He's so perfect like this…

After a bit, I pull my fingers out and sit up. I move between his legs, lining up. I wrap an arm around Oreo's waist, and slide in slowly. "Oreo," I moan softly.

"Naruto," he moans just as softly.

So perfect… so beautiful.

I close my eyes as Oreo pulls me down for a kiss. I thrust inside him deeply. We moan into the kiss.

Oreo's nails run down my back as I bite his neck gently, feeling him tense around me.

I pull him closer, moving deeper inside him.

Oreo moans spilling between us, and after a few more thrusts, I follow him, releasing deep inside him.

I pull out, holding my wife(husband?) close in my arms.

He snuggles into my chest.

Nothing can ever ruin my life right now. Nothing at all.
