Hey everyone, well here's another page. I guess I should give out updates. I will try to pump out a chapter possibly every 2 days. Since I have ways to work on this even during the days I work. But if people start living my reviews, I will gladly start adding one or two reviews at the end of each new chapter. So far I like adding new scenes or new things to make this story even better. So please review, I would love to hear what you guys say. Thank you, now here's chapter 4
Chapter 4
Target: Sakura
Naruto and Sakura walked down the well-lit village square. Sakura took her shoes off, her feet started to hurt so she decide to walk barefoot. It was such a quiet night, but they didn't mind.
"Hey Sakura-chan why don't we have a seat on that bench so you can rest your feet for a bit."
"Alright, Naruto," Sakura responded, he grabbed her hand gently and brought her over to a bench.
"Do you want a foot massage, Sakura-chan?" He offered.
"That sounds amazing Naruto, maybe later alright?" She blushed.
Both teens sat there, silent. Naruto looked over at his pink-haired teammate and saw she was looking up at the night sky.
"Hey, Sakura-Chan?" He asked, catching her attention. "What's on your mind?"
She thought for a bit. She had a sad reflection of their missing teammate.
"Sometimes I wish Sasuke-Kun was with us. He would have had a blast tonight."
"Do you miss him? I mean It's alright if you do. Because I miss him as well." Naruto said, with a sad smile on his face. Sakura caught on to this.
"In a way I do Naruto, but you should know something about me." She said before he looked at her. "Over the past two years while you were out on your training mission with Jiraiya I came to the realization of something."
"And what's that if I may ask?" He asked.
"My feelings for Sasuke have changed since then. I want him to come back, believe me, I do. But I came to this conclusion a while ago that what I felt for Sasuke-kun years ago, was just a one-sided crush. And I believe Sasuke-kun knew that as well. I should have known that he never loved me the way I wanted him to. And then came the day when he left the village, he thanked me after I pleaded my heart and soul to him. And he thanked me and left me that day."
Naruto let her speak, he sat there soaking in all of her words.
"And the worst thing I could ever do to someone happened the next morning when I pleaded to you to bring him back. I bared my soul to you to bring him home. And you gave me the promise of a lifetime in your own words. To have you go out and nearly die not just to bring him home but to bring him home to me is as selfish a move I can ever do to you. Someone who saved me from Gaara's attack. Someone who no matter what, was always there for me whenever my day was terrible and would always cheer me up if Sasuke ever turned me down. I'm so sorry Naruto that I put you through that." She felt Naruto embrace her, she looked at him and he gave her that trademark Naruto smile.
"Sakura-chan, never once will I blame you for trying to bring Sasuke back. And I still will bring him home, because no matter what my promise is my word. And for you, my word is rock solid. I do it not just for myself because I just want to make you happy." He said, putting his head on her forehead, causing her to blush.
"Naruto, thank you so much for being there for me when I needed you. Even now more than ever these days."
"I will protect you Sakura-chan, now and forever." He said, looking into her eyes.
They didn't know why at the moment, maybe it was the night sky, maybe it was the sound of crickets, but maybe it was because of the moment. But at that moment Naruto and Sakura would share a kiss. A passionate kiss the likes that Konoha would ever feel. The two felt so safe with each other and felt the bond they shared was more magnetic than ever.
On the other side of the town, Ino and Kai were walking home as well. Ino took it upon herself to walk Kai back to the apartment. She was quite content that her friends accepted the new guy.
"I think they took a liking to you?" Ino said, with a giggle.
"Pretty cool group of people, I hope to see more of them in the future." He said, with a satisfied smile.
"Hey Kai I have a question, I know you say you are forever 16, but before you were given that elixir and were forced to live in that cave, did you have a girlfriend?" Ino asked as Kai stopped to think it over.
"I'm sorry Kai, I didn't mean to bring up bad memories."
"No, it's fine. To answer your question I certainly did. But unfortunately, she died while I was assigned to protect the egg."
"Oh my, I didn't know." She said, gasping in horror.
"It's alright, I promise when I'm ready to say what happened, you'll be the first to hear my tale."
"No problem Kai, let me know whenever you're ready." She said, Kai looked at the ground and smiled.
"Hey Ino, I have to say that out of anyone I've ever met on my travels, you out of everyone have been so kind to me."
"How so?" She asked him.
"While Naruto and Sakura are just as awesome. You have been with me every step of the way thus far. While you thought ill of me at the beginning, which I have no problem with. Since then you have been a great friend. And I can never thank you more for that." He said, looking up with the warmest smile he had ever given anyone.
Ino was taken aback by this. She returned the smile and gave him a hug.
"Anytime… Kai-kun." She said, with her returning the hug.
Morning broke through the clouds in Konoha. It was a bit of a cloudy morning. The weather forecasts a rainy afternoon. Naruto was on his way to the training grounds when his stomach started to rumble like crazy.
"Alright, Alright, easy stomach. Guess I can get some morning pork ramen." He said to himself. He flashed back to last night, the kiss that he and Sakura gave each other was something he's always wanted and now he feels like he's on cloud nine. Naruto soon arrived at Ichiraku's Ramen Shop. His favorite restaurant in the entire village.
Naruto entered and sat at the table. Tenchi, the owner of Ichiraku, gave Naruto his usual Pork Ramen with extra pork. As Naruto ate his food, two cloaked figures soon entered the booth and had some ramen themselves. Naruto took notice of the two figures, they looked like 2 kunoichis. He could tell that they had a very ominous presence about them. His eyes didn't leave them but tried not to get their attention.
After the two figures ate, they would leave the ramen shop. Naruto would stealthfully follow them. They soon made their way to a local park where they would converse in an area where there was no one. Naruto soon would spawn two shadow clones to hit two areas to hear out what they are gonna say.
"Do you think we're safe here Kagomi?" Keiko asked, looking around for any sign of life.
"Don't worry Keiko, I'm sure everything will fall into place perfectly. Besides we have our marching orders when it comes to our target tonight."
Naruto listened in and would catch the plan that these two were about to explain.
"Do you remember the plan, Keiko?"
"First we hit the target with some paralyzing venom, then we restrain them, and then take them back to our boss."
Naruto heard the plan and didn't know who they were talking about. It could be anyone. Keiko soon felt a presence and threw a Kuneni in his direction. Before he would be spotted, a bird flew from above him. That scared the crap out of him.
"Stupid bird, well let's go and continue the plan later." The two said as they vanished.
The shadow clones soon dissipated and no other info would be given to Naruto in terms of intelligence.
"This is serious, gotta go find granny and let them know about those two."
At Hokage Tower, Naruto would let Tsunade in on what he just saw. She slammed her fist on the table, causing her cup of tea to tremble.
"This could spell trouble, you didn't catch a name these two supposed kunoichi were after?" She asked.
"No, they wouldn't spell it out for me, otherwise I would tell you or warn them," Naruto said, clenching his fists.
"Do you think this has anything to do with what Kai told us?" Tsunade asks Naruto.
"Could be, I've never seen these two visitors to Konoha, and I can't really give you details of what they look like. What I can tell you is that their names are Keiko and Kagome."
"Alright, I'll send Anbu and have them search the village for these 2 mysterious kunoichis. Thanks, Naruto."
"No problem Granny Tsunade." He said, leaving her to stew after hearing him call her that for the thousandth time.
Naruto was walking out of Hokage Tower and bumped into Hinata. She was heading to pick up a new mission for her and Team Kurenai.
"Hey Hinata, how's it going?" He said, noticing her face turned bright red. Like a Christmas tree light.
"Ahh, Mooorrinng NNNarruuutooo-kuun." She responded, stuttering like Porky Pig. She quickly shook it off and would ask him something, "Hey Naruto-Kun do you have a minute?"
"Sure Hinata, I can chat for a bit." He said the two of them would head somewhere to talk.
Meanwhile, A loud scream could be heard from a small Ice Cream shop that opened a while ago. It was Ino screaming after having some Ice Cream with Sakura.
"YOU DID WHAT WITH NARUTO?"
"We… Kissed last night." Sakura said, with the biggest blush on her face.
"Wow, I can't believe it Sakura. I guess you really have moved past Sasuke haven't you?" She said.
Sakura thought for a bit, she put a spoon of vanilla ice cream in her mouth. Her mind continued to flashback to last night, the kiss that they shared last night. She smiled and had to agree with Ino about it. It felt so right with him, she fell in love with Naruto, and she couldn't wait to tell him her feelings.
"Yes, I did Ino. I am in love with him. I can't wait to tell him how I love him." Sakura said, with a dreamy look on her face. "But let me ask you something?"
"Yeah Billboard brow, what is the question?" She asked.
"Alright Ino-pig, how was your night with Kai?" She said, causing Ino to blush like crazy.
"Ahh, well, ahh, man where did this Ice Cream come from, Snow Country right?" Her trying to change the subject.
"Come on Ino, you can tell me. I mean I just told you about me and Naruto last night."
Ino couldn't hide it, she like her best friend was falling for someone, hard. While a bit ago she met Team Seven's replacement, Sai. And while Sai complimented her on her beauty. There was something about Kai that made her feel special. He was handsome, he was kind and generous, but something else, but at this point, she couldn't put it together.
"To be honest Sakura, at this point, I think I am in love with him. It's weird to say that after only a few days with him. But I think I'm starting to get to know him." She said, also showing a dreamy look on her face.
Sakura chuckled at her friend, while Ino and Sakura's feud for Sasuke's affection almost ruined their friendship. After he left the village they got closer than ever before. Especially since they both became apprentices with Lady Tsunade. But Sakura could read her like a book. He is head over heels in love with the stranger from Wave Country.
"Well Ino, let's make a toast," Sakura said, lifting up a glass of water. "Let's make our dreams come true."
Ino smiled and tapped glasses with the pink-haired Kunoichi. Unaware the women that Naruto tracked earlier were watching the two Kunoichi, particularly the pink-haired girl.
"So what did you want to talk about Hinata?" Naruto asked the shy Heiress.
"Naruto-kun, I just wanted to tell you something." She fought through her shyness to finally tell him the thing she's wanted to say ever since they were little. "I love you Naruto-kun."
Naruto stood there, shell-shocked. He tried to process what she just said to him.
"Excuse me, sorry Hinata, but what did you just tell me?"
"I love you Naruto-kun, I've been in love with you since we were kids. When you saved me from those bullies when we were young. You are my inspiration. It would mean the world to me if you were to become my boyfriend."
Naruto was taken aback by this. He heard the heiress confess her feelings to him. If it were different, he would of accepted her. But there was always one constant in his life. One person who he loves. He walks up and puts his hands on her shoulders and looked her in the eyes.
"I'm sorry Hinata, I thank you for telling me your feelings. But I love Sakura."
Hinata smiled and looked him in the eyes.
"I know Naruto-kun, I just wanted to tell you my feelings for you. I was walking home and saw you and Sakura kissing. I saw how close you two are and seeing that I knew that it wasn't meant to be. Thank you Naruto-Kun for at least hearing me out, I will be rooting for both you and Sakura-san." She said, hugging Naruto. He would return the hug. She then walked off as Naruto would head out to find his cherry blossom.
At Kai's apartment, Kai started to set up his communication with the spirit realm. This is a unique ritual that the Komoto clan can only do. Because it's unique to this clan the setup works like this. You need 4 candles infused with beeswax and chakra-infused blood from the Komoto clan, then you must place the candles in a box formation. Then drop some fresh blood on the wick, then do the following hand signs (Dragon, Bear, Dragon, Tiger, Bull, Dragon) at least 3 times, and then finish it with the following chant "Do Ni Chi Go Ta Ni Cho Ki Ku". All while sitting in the middle of the box formation.
A blinding flashing light soon enveloped the traveler from the mist country. All around him was like he was stuck in a galaxy far away. He flew through the stars and soon came to a vast opening. Suddenly a group of shadows soon surrounded him, like they were gonna swarm him. But this isn't Kai's first Rodeo. He knew what was going on. The shadows soon formed into a being of powerful chakra.
"I speak for the Komoto Clan, who dares enter my presence?" The shadow spoke.
"I am the last of the Komoto Clan, Kai Komoto, son of Kaito Komoto. I have come to relay an update on my journey."
The spectator looked over the young man, seeing him with the ruins of the Komoto clan tattooed on his back.
"Greetings young Kai Komoto. How have you been?"
"Ehhh doing pretty good, have to say it's been one hell of a journey."
"So have you found Ashimaru yet?"
Kai rubbed his temples, his frustration clearly showing.
"Well, to be honest, I feel like I'm still at square one. For 10 years I've been searching for this damn chicken and… to be honest I feel lost. Can you help me or get me some sort of clue to find who wields the phoenix?"
The spectator was silent, he thought for a bit. But the answer that he was seeking was as vague as possible.
"The only clue I can give you is simply this… You are close to the finish line, but soon all will be revealed to you. I will try to help you in the future, so take care." The spectator said before Kai would be sent back to his body.
"THANKS, THANKS FOR FREAKING NOTHING! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!" Kai screamed, before hearing a knock at his door. He got up from his square and answered the store. "Can I help you?"
The person on the other end of the door was Naruto.
"Hey Naruto, what's up?"
"Did you want to hang out for a bit? We could get some Ramen."
"Sure, just let me get ready," Kai said, after getting his gear on both he and Naruto would head out and just chill out.
Both Naruto and Kai were walking around the village, Naruto would tell Kai about what he found out earlier with the two mysterious cloaked figures he encountered. Kai pondered about who he was talking about.
"Well you were right to talk to the Hokage about it Naruto, but it could be tied to Ashimaru itself."
"What do you think we should do?" He asked Kai.
Kai tried to feel out any specific chakra, but different factors are derailing him from pinpointing any unique signatures. With constant traveler flow, and chakra signatures like Naruto, Tsunade, and another ninja in the village it was hard.
"They must be using some siphon seals right now."
Naruto was confused about what Kai just said, what did he mean by "Siphen Seal?"
"It's a basic seal that can be taught by a seal master. It can block out the chakra from being detected. So whoever these girls are, they have the presence of a simple commoner. We'll just have to keep our eyes open."
"All right Kai, whatever you say."
Both Kai and Naruto soon arrived at Ichiraku's and both would sit.
"Well, it's nice to see you again Naruto, twice in one day?" Teuchi asked his number one customer.
"I thought I would bring a friend here."
"Well, a friend of Naruto's is always welcome here," Teuchi said, giving both young men a warm smile.
Naruto takes his spot and Kai sits next to him. Naruto had his special earlier but decided to get 2 bowls of it, one for him and one for Kai. The bowls of ramen and placed in front of both boys. Kai and Naruto break the chopsticks apart and Kai takes his first taste of the ramen and the noodles had great flavor and texture. The broth was rich and flavorful as well as the vegetables, the meat was cooked very firm but had a nice rubbery feel to the bite. This was one of the best feelings in the world.
"How is it? Best ramen in the world right?" Naruto said, with a smirk.
Kai devoured the entire contents of the bowl and drank the broth down to the last satisfying drop.
Naruto smiled and paid Mr. Ichiraku plenty. He took his money and Kai and Naruto let out a big sigh. Then something came to Kai's mind, it pertained to the other night at the party.
"Hey Naruto, I have a question for you?"
"What's up Kai, fire away."
"All of your friends last night had 3-man squads if that's how it's done here in Konoha, why was it only you and Sakura if I may ask?"
"We had a third member of our team, but he left us a couple of years ago. He went to gain power from a man named Orochimaru to fight his brother who killed his entire clan." Naruto said, clenching his fist in anger.
"His brother killed his clan, that's just horrible to hear."
"We were rivals at first, but I always thought of him as my best friend. So when he left the village I and some of our friends tried to bring him back, but needless to say, that ended pretty badly where I could have died. Then a few months ago we located him and let's just say it ended a lot worse." Naruto flashed back to the bridge, and while his memory was pretty bad, Yamato Sensei told Naruto what happened, especially turning into a four-tailed mini demon and accidentally hitting Sakura and hurting her. "So now we decided that when the time comes Me and Sakura will try again."
"Well Naruto, if you need a somewhat decent seal ninja, look no further," Kai said, making Naruto laugh.
"Thanks, Kai, I'll keep that in mind."
Just as the two of them were ready to leave, Sakura met up with them.
"Should have figured this is where the two of you were gonna be," Sakura said while Naruto giggled. Sakura looked a bit different, her hair had more of a bounce to it, her nails were painted green, and She also smelled like her name implied Cherry blossoms. Both girls must have gone to a stylus. Naruto blushed like crazy, Sakura couldn't look any more beautiful.
"Sakura-chan, you look so beautiful."
"Thank you, Naruto." She said as both of them blushed. Sakura shook off the blush and told them what was going on tonight. "So the plan for tonight is that we're going to see the new Princess Koyuki movie. Naruto and I have to get our tickets but Ino has both of yours."
"Oh, it's one of those moving picture things, right?" Kai asked Sakura.
"Yeah it is, I would have figured that during your travels you would have come across at least one movie?" Sakura asked him.
"Never took the time to explore things like that," Kai said.
"I believe the new Princess Koyuki movie is playing tonight," Naruto said as both Naruto and Sakura left to get their tickets. "See you tonight Kai."
"Yeah, see you later I guess."
Kai got up and made his way out of the Ramen stand and started to walk back to the apartment when a blur clung onto his arm, it was Ino. She looked more beautiful than she did before.
"What do you think Kai-kun?" She asked him, hoping to get a compliment from Kai.
Kai was utterly speechless, he was floored but had to spit out the words.
"You look like a beautiful angel that fell from the heavens. Truly a marvel to behold."
Ino became the color of one of the roses in the flower shop. She held her hands on her cheeks.
"Thanks, Kai-kun, well let's go see the movie." She said, grabbing his hand. Her hands were so soft and smooth. No one should have hands that feel like silk.
It felt too unreal for the traveler, never had he ever encountered a girl like Ino in the many years he was guarding the stone. Except for one girl in particular that he fell in love with. But that's in the past. This is the present, and right now he is walking to the movies with this girl who has taken a liking to him.
They soon arrived at Konoha's only movie theater. It has at least one screen, and Naruto and Sakura were so excited. Seeing that they know Princess Koyuki from a mission that happened when they were part of years ago.
"Decent seats huh, got some of the best in the theater." Sakura gloated, as they would sit near the front but not too close to the screen.
The movie soon began, and Kai was mesmerized by the imagery of what he saw, he would see such wonderful things like some funny slapstick, awesome battle scenes, cliches like the mentor dying, and the betrayal. And of course some death scenes. Kai looked over at Ino, she was balling like a child who scrapped their knee. Kai held her hand to console her. She saw this and she put her head on his shoulder.
All the while Naruto and Sakura were enjoying it, Sakura was not crying like Ino was but she did get teary eyed and Naruto had some napkins from Ichiraku and gave them to her. Naruto tried to do the dorky yawn and put his arm over her shoulder and she gave him a death glare. He backed off, but she huffed and just grabbed his arm and put it over her shoulder. He looked at her speechless, as she looked back at him and gave him a smile.
The movie got done at around 5:30 pm. Naruto and Sakura stretched after the movie. As Kai and Ino would say goodbye to their friends. Before they left though, Naruto asked Kai something.
"So Kai, why don't we do one big search tomorrow and try to find that chicken, I'm pretty sure once we get a group going we should get some results." Naruto said, looking over at Kai and Ino.
"I think once we start getting a good idea where to look I think we can find and hopefully extract the bird. I'll see if Lady Tsunade can get ahold of Lord Jiraiya. He's just as good of a seal master as they get." Sakura suggested.
"I think I may know of someone that can help us as well, I can get ahold of them as soon as we find the wielder of Ashimaru," Kai said.
"I will gather Neji and Hinata as well, why we didn't think of using them is beyond me." Ino brought up.
"All right then, we'll see you guys first thing tomorrow morning."
Ino and Kai both were walking arm in arm back to Kai's apartment. She smiled, she was so content right now. Kai felt the same way as well. They both blushed as they walked down the alleyways. They looked like a couple right now.
"Hey, Kai-kun?"
"Yeah Ino, what's up?"
"I was wondering what your plans were after you did retrieve Ashimaru?" She asked him.
Kai thought for a bit and turned to the beautiful blonde.
"You know I haven't thought about it really, if I do I guess I would have to go back to that island and go back to keeping an eye out on it."
"You know you don't have to go back there alone Kai, you could always stay here and we could get Lady Hokage to find a way to keep it under lock."
Kai heard that and as much as he would love to, settle down finally and live free from the cave. But he knew that his fate was predetermined the day he was forced to guard Ashimaru. Kai closed his eyes and chuckled a bit.
"I'm happy that you want to see me get out of it, but I was chosen to do this Ino. It's not as simple as walking away or giving your village the responsibility that protecting Ashimaru. As long as I remember, it was given to me because my father was the greatest seal master of them all. And the elders placed this on my shoulders, it's my cross to carry. Not anyone else."
Ino was heartbroken to hear that, knowing that if they find this bird that he will have to leave and be alone for as long as the serum in his body keeps him alive.
He was the last of his clan and he looked like he was alright with the decision he was bestowed upon. But she wasn't content with this choice. She did something next that would surprise not only him… but her as well, she delivered a kiss to him. In her mind maybe this would change his mind.
"I'm sorry Kai, but I can't allow you to leave this village and be stuck in that cave. I can't let that happen to you. Your fate shouldn't be decided because a bunch of old farts branded you as a guardian just because your father excelled at mastering seals. Sorry Kai-kun, not gonna happen." She said, looking at him with those amazing eyes. "We will find a better way for you to protect that bird with your friends by your side."
Kai was speechless, he felt like if he were to argue with her she would kick his ass, so he started to laugh hard.
"What's so funny, I'm speaking from the heart." She said, getting angry.
"No, it's fine, it's fine. I'm sorry Ino. I hear you loud and clear." He responded, trying to calm her down.
"Well, it's true, I just don't want you to leave that's all." She said, turning away from him as she turned beat red. "Oh my, did I kind of confess my feelings towards Kai?" She thought to herself. Until she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist and felt someone's head on her shoulder.
"Thank you Ino, thank you for your concern for me," Kai said, she gently put her hand on one of the hands he had wrapped around her waste.
"Sure thing Kai-kun, sure thing." She said as the two froze in place. Enjoying the embrace of each other.
Naruto and Sakura were walking down the street, They soon came to a flower cart. Naruto bought a small flower and gave it to Sakura.
"Thank you, Naruto for the flower," Sakura said, with a small smile. "The movie was fun, if we ever go back to snow country we'll have to tell Koyuki how great of a movie it was."
"For real, I think she'll love to see us again," Naruto said.
Sakura looked over at Naruto again, she thought back again to the kiss they had last night. She stopped right in her tracks and Naruto stopped with her.
"Hey Sakura-chan, is there something wrong?"
"Naruto I've been thinking of something as of late."
"And what's that Sakura-chan?"
She took a big breath, this was a decision she made by herself, she saw the one person who stood by her side through the tough times and the good times since the formation of team seven. Her feelings for Sasuke were now out the window as she looked over at the blonde hair ninja. She walked up to him and gave him a hug.
"S-s-s-sakura?" He studdered like Hinata.
"Naruto Uzumaki, you are my present, my future, my everything. I can't live my life without you Naruto Uzumaki, I love you. Please be there for me and I will be there for you. Let's journey through this world together, my Naruto-kun." She said, with a Naruto-like smile.
Naruto didn't say a word, he returned her hug and gave her a kiss on the lips. He returned her smile with one of his own.
"You got it Sakura-hime." He said, Sakura was caught off guard. Naruto use to call her 'Sakura-chan' but now it was 'Sakura-hime'.
Naruto picked up Sakura and he would carry her home bridal style. They walked together and she put her head on his shoulder. Both felt so comfortable together.
As soon as Sakura and Naruto got to her place, he set her down gently. She hugged him once again.
"Hey Naruto, did you want to come in for a spot of tea?"
"Nah I have to get back, but I'll see you first thing tomorrow morning Sakura-hime, I love you."
"I love you as well." She said, before entering her house.
Sakura would take off her boots and slowly start making her way to the bathroom. But before she would start running the water, there was a sound of broken glass. She grabbed a kunai and slowly would make her way through her home. She tried to sense some chakra, she was pretty sure that she would be able to sense at least a low-level thug.
"Alright, whoever it is, I know how to fight. If you hear for valuables then just leave." She said as she would roll behind her couch.
She looked all over but found that the window was shattered and glass shards were littered on the floor. She needed to find out what happened and fast. She focused her hearing and adjusted it to the sounds of footprints that would be running around her home. Lady Tsunade taught her to adept her senses so she be more effective in war settings so no one would ambush her.
Her eyes soon caught the sounds of a pair of footsteps rushing toward the living room. She hid before they entered. She entered the broom closet and got her kunai ready, if that didn't work a chakra-powered punch would make short work of them. She saw they were two kunoichis, looking around for her.
"She's here, somewhere." The one woman said.
"Start tearing this place apart." The other said they started to rummage through the kitchen. As Sakura couldn't just sit in the closet, but she figured that it wouldn't take too long for them to enter. "HEY, GIRLY WHERE ARE YOU?"
Sakura didn't know what these two girls were after, she figured that they were Akatsuki members looking to use her as a hostage to get to Naruto. She didn't know what was gonna happen if she just stayed there.
Maybe she could bolt out the door and try to catch a wandering anbu. They were still in the kitchen and it takes a good 3 to 4 seconds to enter the living room from the kitchen. She thought for a few seconds and came up with a plan she hoped would work.
She dug through her supply bag and found some rolling spike balls and some flash paper. She could roll some of the spike balls on the floor to hopefully pierce the soles of the girl's feet and if that failed then the flash paper would blind her. She was hoping to have more supplies but unfortunately, the rest of her ninja gear was upstairs.
She slowly opened the door and rolled the spiky balls on the ground. Trying to maneuver them so that she wouldn't step on them. She began to count to 5 and then she would take the risk. Every second beginning at 5 felt like an hour, 4 felt like a year, 3 felt like a centennial, 2 felt like a millennium, and 1 felt like an eternity. With one big intake of air, she ran as fast as her feet would let her. She heard the sounds of footprints right behind her. Her ears picked up the piercing screams of one of the intruders.
"That stupid wrench hurt my foot." Said Kagome, but before Keiko would help her partner, Keiko screamed to stop her.
Sakura heard the sound of a locked door before but she charged her fist and punched the door off the frame. Before she would go any further she fell to the ground, hard. It felt like her legs became like jelly.
"What the hell, why are my legs numb." She said, trying to get her legs moving but to no success. "What did you do to me?"
Kagome was busy plucking some of the spike balls off her foot. As she started to bark orders to her partner.
"Bind and gag the stupid wench. We have to get her out of here now!"
Keiko complied and started to bind her arms and legs. Sakura tried to fight against the restraints but her entire body was numb. She couldn't move to save her life.
"Let me go Akatsuki freaks, you leave Naruto alone." She screamed with venom before she was gagged with tape that had a seal that would hide her chakra from anyone in the village. "As she tried to scream for help tried to break from the binds, Kagome would place some healing balm on her foot and she would walk over to their captive.
"I don't know who this Naruto fella is, but he's not the one we're after. We were sent to bring you with us. You see girly you are the holder of Ashimaru."
Sakura's eyes grew wide, she was numb, and not because of the poison coursing through her blood. They soon applied a chloroform-soaked rag over the pink-haired kunoichi's face to knock her out. Sakura struggled as hard as she could, but soon fell into a deep sleep. The last thing she thought of was Naruto.
They wrapped her up in a blanket and Keiko looked out the door to see if there were any signs of Anbu or ninja, but it looked like the coast was clear.
"Sir, we have the target and are heading back to base," Kagome said, as the two mysterious kunoichi would try to leave Konoha.
