Chapter 5

Chaos in the village

Naruto was on his way back to his apartment, he remembered a gift he picked up for Sakura a few days ago that he saw that he knew she would just love. He ran and grabbed a small jewelry box. Contained inside the box was a small necklace with a small cherry blossom pedal. He saved up as much of his savings as he could gather.

Naruto ran back to her house until he had a really bad feeling. It felt like a jolt of pain, he had a really bad feeling at that moment. He booked it until he arrived at her house. He saw the door was on the ground like it was blown off by an explosion.

Naruto entered the house and saw spike balls on the ground, drops of blood, broken glass, and pieces of Sakura's hair, he also noticed that the blanket that Sakura kept on the couch that Naruto used the night before was gone. Naruto was shocked, he couldn't believe what happened here. Naruto called out for Sakura… but radio silence, he then decided that the best bet would be that if someone kidnapped her, they wouldn't have gotten too far.

Naruto leaped out the door and went to the tallest point in the village and started to look at all points of the village. More importantly, if there was someone who abducted her would have used that blanket to keep her hidden. Suddenly he saw two cloaked figures running in an ally towards one of the exits in the village. Naruto would launch himself at the two cloaked figures.

At the same time, the cloaked figures were proud of themselves. Kagome was thinking how proud the master was gonna be, possibly knocking off a few years from their life debts. But Keiko was scared, they just abducted an innocent young woman for what, she didn't really know.

"Hey Kagome, when are we gonna inject her with the serum?" She asked as Kagome thought for a moment.

"Once we leave the village, we'll inject her. We don't want to bring any attention to any of the high-level ninjas in this village."

As the two of them rounded a corner, someone landed in front of them. It was Naruto, and he looked pissed.

"Evening ladies, as a ninja of this fine village I have to ask why are you carrying that blanket in a suspicious manner?"

Kagome put the blanket down gently, not to ruin the package. She had a poison-laced kunai under her cloak ready just in case Naruto went to grab Sakura.

"Nothing young man, just out for the night. We just had to grab this blanket from the dry cleaner and bring it back."

Naruto looked at the bundle they had and saw Sakura's foot protruding from the blanket. Naruto prepared a kunai.

"Well, I'm afraid I can't allow you to go any further, since I know for a fact I know someone's in that blanket. So I will have to ask for it back."

"Sorry there but I can't allow that," Kagome said, as she charged at Naruto with her poisoned kunai. Naruto would leap out of the way as the kunai would cut his jacket but would miss him. He then caught Keiko leaping at him, Naruto would twist in the air and maneuver his body enough to grab her arm and throw her at Kagome. Both girls would impact each other. Naruto would land on his feet and get into a battle stance.

Kagome got up from the ground and dusted herself off. Naruto could see how angry she was, there was one thing she was known for and that was her explosive anger. She would throw off her cloak and reveal dart launchers on her arms.

"Time to put this loser to sleep." She said as the barrels of her dart launchers fired toxic darts at the young ninja. Naruto would deflect 3 of them and dodged 2 of them, much to Kagome's shock. "I missed him, I NEVER MISS!" She said, as she continued to fire dart after dart, and time after time they would miss their intended target. She then looked at Keiko and nodded her head.

Keiko approached Naruto and she flew through a few hand signs as Naruto came at her and she charged some electricity.

"Lighting style, Stun Gun Jutsu!" She said, as an electric charge would hit Naruto and send him crumbling to the ground.

Naruto tried to get up from the ground, but his body was numb. Like sticking your finger in an electric socket numb.

"Hey, what gives, why can't I move?"

"I'm really sorry about that," Keiko said, with a sorrowful tone. "But that was my stun gun jutsu, it's a paralyzing jutsu meant to make an opponent immobile for about 10 minutes.

The two girls then pick up the blanket that some of it dropped revealing Sakura gagged and knocked out. Naruto tried his hardest to get up. Before they would leave, he would plead with the two girls to release the girl who just said she loved him.

"Why, why are you taking Sakura, she didn't do anything to you or anyone. Please leave her alone."

Kagome gave the bundle carrying Sakura to Keiko and crouched down and would explain to him.

"I'm sorry but no, your princess here has Ashimaru. We don't need some useless fox. Our boss was perfectly clear that we would bring the girl. Sorry their lover boy, but cherish the memories you had with her." She started to walk away with Keiko giving her Sakura's bound body.

Naruto tried to fight the paralyzation again, but he would try to bargain one last time, by telling them his secret, hoping that it would lead them to take him instead.

"Please, take me instead, I am the Jinchuriki of the nine-tailed fox. If you take me it should be the same as Sakura right?"

Kagome once again laughed at him and looked back.

"Why would we need some stupid fox, sorry kid, no dice." She laughed, as they started to move out with Sakura.

"Sakura-Hime… Sakura-Hime… I can't let them take you!" Naruto said, pounding the ground with his still-mobile arms.

Before the girls would leave the village with his love, the girl he vow to protect with his life, and it was looking like another promise he would break. But before the girls would leave the town with Sakura, a pair of Kunai would slam in front of them.

"What the hell, who did that?"

Their eyes shot up to the roof and standing there was Ino, with a kunai in hand. As quick as a lightning bolt she leaped down and channeled some chakra into her hands, and would heal Naruto.

"Naruto, who are these two women and what are they doing here?"

"They came for Sakura, they have her wrapped up in that blanket."

This pissed off Ino, they came for her best friend and she wasn't gonna have any of it.

"Ino, I know you want to help but it would be more helpful if you got Kakashi-Sensei."

"Come on Naruto, you need help. Especially if they used that one jutsu against you."

"No arguments, please go get help." Naruto pleaded to the blonde.

She fought the urge to go, she wanted to save Sakura, but if Naruto is asking her to do this, she reluctantly left him.

"If she's gone by the time I get back, I'm kicking your ass." She screamed as he laughed.

"SHADOW CLONE JUTSU!" Naruto would scream as he would create a few clones. "All right boys, let's kick some ass for Sakura-Hime!" The lead clone said as they would launch into battle.

"Keiko, keep an eye on the girl. I'll handle these three." Kagome said while Keiko stood by Sakura's unconscious body.

Kai once again found himself in the square, hoping to talk to the Spector once again. He would once again appear in front of Kai. And with his deep voice, he would speak.

"Young Kai, have you brought us more information on the wielder of the phoenix?"

"Ehhhh, could be I guess," Kai said, rubbing the back of his neck and blushing like there's no tomorrow. "But I have to say something, elder?"

"Speak your mind young Kai."

"It seems like I'm still at square one with this, I still don't know who has the phoenix and a bunch of the ninjas in this village are gonna help me try to locate it. Especially two of the Hyuga family members. I was just curious if you would at least give me some sort of clue."

The Spector thought for a moment, Kai was still in the silence waiting for it to speak. He clearly was getting frustrated with the lack of communication. It wasn't until he would finally speak that Kai would get his answer, the Spector would mutter one word before sending Kai back to the real world.

"PINK!"

Kai snapped out of his mental meditation with the Spector. And was trying to think what he meant by pink.

"Pink, pink, pink, pink, pink, PINK?" Kai paced a bit, trying to put it together. But then it would click in his brain and it would hit him like a prize-fighting boxer.

"Oh my god, Sakura, Sakura is the wielder of Ashimaru!"

Before he could think of anything else, he would hear an explosion in the middle of town. Kai ran to the window and saw a group of people fleeing for their lives.

"HEY, JUST WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?" Kai screamed out the window.

"THERE'S A FIGHT GOING ON DOWNTOWN INVOLVING UZUMAKI NARUTO AND SOME STRANGE FEMALE NINJA." An elderly man answered.

"Downtown, Naruto, Female Ninja, Sakura," Kai said, trying to put it together. He quickly put on his ninja boots and headed down to see the fight.

Houses, shops, and landmarks were being broken or destroyed as Naruto and Kagome fought against each other. The sound of metal kunai clashing was loud. Naruto tried to keep the damage to the town minimal but Kagome wouldn't allow it. She wanted to kill this demon and take the princess to awaken the bird of destruction.

She had no problem taking down all of Naruto's shadow clones. She kind of gloated about doing that to him.

"You and your pathetic clones are no match against me. So fox boy give it up."

Naruto panted and got back up. He was pretty scratched up with blood flowing from some of his wounds. Naruto didn't care, he fought for his Hime. He got back up and got in another ready stance.

"I didn't hear no bell, so bring it on," Naruto said, doing the Bruce Lee combat stance.

"Pathetic little man, you have no idea how bad you just signed your death certificate." She screamed as she would plunge a kunai into Naruto's heart. Until the sound of a poof would echo around her, she saw a log take his place. "What the hell, substitution jutsu?" was one of the last words she would say before her eyes looked up to a shadowy figure descending onto her. It was Naruto Uzumaki and he had a fully powered Rasengan in his palm. Like slow motion, it felt like it took decades before he would nail her in the side.

"RASENGAN!" The attack hit head-on. The pain was sheer agony, as the jutsu would send her flying into the wall of the village.

"KAGOME!" was what Keiko said before she would ignore Sakura entirely and run to her partner. She came to her, bleeding and damaged. She wanted to run to her until she saw Ino come back with Kakashi-Sensei.

"Naruto, I'm back with Kakashi-Sensei."

"Sorry I'm late Naruto, Ino filled me in on what happened." He said before his eyes looked at the two enemy ninjas.

Kagome closed her eyes and her body began to glow, her body slowly began to heal. Keiko wanted to help but Kagome told her to back off in a very angry tone. Her body fully healed and she would crack her neck.

"All right boys, round two. Keiko, you take the Haruno girl and get out of here." She commanded, Keiko followed her order. Kakashi and Naruto wanted to intervene, but Kagome blocked their pathway.

"If you want to get to her, you will have to kill me." She said, as it began to sprout blood clones. "Ready for round 2 Fox freak."

"MULTI SHADOW CLONE JUTSU!" Naruto shot out 6 more clones. He would then whisper to Ino and Kakashi. "Alright guys, I'll try to drive them away from the village. You two go get Sakura-Hime. Got it?"

Kakashi had to give it to Naruto, he was acting like a chip off his father's block.

"Alright Naruto, we'll retrieve Sakura for you."

"Kick her ass Naruto!" She said, before joining Kakashi-Sensei.

"Like hell, you're gonna go after her!" She said before a rock was chucked at her head, bouncing off her head. Pissing her off royally.

"Hey Kagome or whatever your name is, your fight is with me now so let's go somewhere secluded so Konoha won't get any more damage. Naruto ran while Kagome ran after him.

Kai had his sword and some battle seals with him as he ran towards where the explosions and the sounds of a vicious battle were emulating from. Until his eyes quickly darted toward Naruto and some of his clones being chased by a group of women. Kai would follow Naruto, hoping that he would help out.

Naruto would land in an area outside of the village, where he knew that there was no one there that would get hurt. The multitude of clones that Kagome created, was massive but the clones Naruto had with him would do battle. It was, in all terms a clone war. Little by little, clone after clone would disappear, all the while the real Naruto was charging up a fierce Rasengan to strike the woman.

The woman saw Naruto charging it up and decided to go for the kill. She charged at him with the anger of a swarm of killer bees.

"It's time for you to pay the piper, Uzumaki Naruto!" She bellowed, but something would happen to her, she froze like an ice sculpture. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?" She screamed at Naruto who was still charging his Rasengan.

"He didn't do anything, I did." A voice said, as a figure soon stepped from behind a tree. It was Kai, and that sent her into a rage.

"Hey, loser, why am I frozen?" She screamed as he pointed to her leg. Her eyes followed his finger and saw a seal planted on her leg. "What did you do to me?"

"A basic petrification seal. It works well in a situation like this. While you were distracted with charging at Naruto, I took my shot in the dark and threw it. Luckily for our case, it hit you. So now your frozen solid." Kai said, gloating. "Now Naruto, go for it."

"Got it, Kai, thanks," Naruto said as he charged at her. Her eyes were bulging out of her skull, she struggled to break free but to no luck. But then a smirk formed on her face.

"RASENGAN!" He said as the force of the jutsu hit his target. But unfortunately, it would destroy a clone. She vanished without a trace.

Kai and Naruto looked around for the woman named Kagome but turns out she was gone.

"Kai, do you think she joined up with her buddy to try to bring Sakura back to wherever they're going?"

"Could be, if that's the case then let's go," Kai said as the both of them ran at Lightspeed.

"So is it true, is Sakura the carrier of Ashimaru?" Naruto asked, with a scared tone in his voice.

Kai took a few moments, but he would tell Naruto the truth. He knew he wouldn't like it, and he didn't know how his relationship with the blonde ninja would continue. But he had to get right down to the point.

"Yes, Sakura is the wielder of Ashimaru."

That made Naruto run even faster to where Kakashi and Ino were, with Kai right behind him.

Meanwhile, Ino and Kakashi soon caught up to Keiko. She was terrified, she didn't know what to do. She knew that more ninjas would soon descend on her to not only rescue the pink-haired kunoichi but to take her in.

"Listen, if you surrender Sakura right now you can leave and nothing will happen." Kakashi gave her a warning. "However, should you try to leave with her then I'm afraid things won't end well for you."

Keiko wanted to hand over Sakura to them, she really did. But she knew of the repercussions of what would happen if they didn't bring her with them.

"Sorry, you don't understand. If I don't bring the girl back with me I will die."

"YOU WILL DIE RIGHT HERE IF YOU DON'T GIVE ME BACK MY BEST FRIEND!" Ino shouted at the woman. Kakashi tried to calm Ino down.

She then tried to do something quick to try to bluff them, she would put Sakura down all the while keeping her eye on them. She grabbed her head and put a kunai to her throat.

"All right, I'll let you know that I'm really fast to strike so here's the deal, if you let me take her back with me then I will not slit her throat." She threatened the two of them. Ino was now more than pissed but Kakashi pointed his finger. She knew how good Kakashi was, Asuma always touted how much of a tactician he was.

"All right, you win. You can take the girl with you." Kakashi said, holding his hands up. "Just don't hurt Sakura."

A huge smile formed on Keiko's face as she would pick up Sakura and held her bridal style. But before she could take off, her body felt weird, it was like she didn't have a will of her own, she thought to herself, "Why can't I move?"

She then saw the girl next to Kakashi on the ground, out cold. She didn't know but she felt like she was moving without control.

"What's going on, why can't I move my body?"

"BECAUSE I'M IN CONTROL OF YOU!" Ino screamed, she took control of her mind with the Yamanaka special, The Mind Control Jutsu. "TIME FOR YOU TO GIVE KAKASHI-SENSEI THE GIRL IN YOUR ARMS!"

She struggled to fight it, but she started to walk up to Kakashi and she would hand over Sakura. After that, Ino would release the Jutsu. Keiko would start freaking out, she was shaking uncontrollably. Ino got up from the ground and shook off the aftermath of the jutsu as Kakashi would give Sakura to Ino. As Kakashi prepared some Chakra cuffs to take her captive, Kagome would appear in front of them and grabbed Keiko.

"DAMN IT KEIKO, YOU LET HER GO!" Kagome scolded her.

"I'm sorry Kagome-Chan, the blonde girl infiltrated my mind. I had no choice."

Kagome glared at the blonde-haired girl, how dare she defile Keiko's mind? She saw Kai and Naruto arriving and saw more ninjas descending on their location.

"Damn it, we have to retreat for now. But we'll be back but next time we won't be too kind to you konoha ninja." She said before the two women would vanish.

Naruto and Kai would soon arrive where Ino and Kakashi were dealing with the women. Naruto was relieved to see Sakura in Ino's arms.

"SAKURA-HIME!" Naruto screamed to the heavens.

Ino and Naruto slowly removed the bindings and the gag from Sakura. She was still out like a light. Ino went to work to see if she needed any healing. Naruto stood waiting for Ino to heal his princess. Suddenly Sakura would begin to awaken from her drug-induced slumber. She slowly sat up, holding her head. She had a whopper of a headache.

"Where am I, why am I doing outside of the gates of the village?" She saw Kakashi, Naruto, Ino, and Kai. Naruto helped her up from the ground. They would relay the information to Sakura as to what just occurred.

"The last thing I do remember is them telling me I am the vessel of Ashimaru." She said she looked over at Kai. "Is it true Kai, Is it true I'm Ashimaru's carrier?"

"Like I told Naruto, I guess it was around the time you were abducted by those 2 mysterious women I found out," Kai said, Disappointed at himself for not figuring it out earlier. "You have the demon phoenix, Ashimaru."

Sakura had to hear it again from the person who was searching for the phoenix, she couldn't believe it. She was speechless, she would crumble to her knees. Her legs were still suffering the side effects from the toxin that Kagome gave to her. Naruto dropped down to her level, as she held him for dear life. Naruto was angry, at the fact that she was just like him now. He never wanted anyone he held dear to him to go through having something inside of them be the target of an evil group.

Kai didn't know what to do now, he hoped that maybe he would have found this out sooner that possible. But there was one thing he knew at this point, he now had to find a way to try to extract the phoenix from her without her dying.

"USELESS, BOTH OF YOU ARE USELESS!" Shinku screamed loudly, for the world to hear.

Both Keiko and Kagome kneeled before him, trembling in terror. Someone has brash as Kagome was terrified because of how they came before him. He slammed his foot so hard, it cracked the floor.

"We're sorry sir, don't take this out on Keiko, it was my call for us to retreat," Kagome said, trying to shield her teammate from the anger of Shinku.

"You do realize that both of you are serving me with that life debt. Remember who it was who saved your sorry asses."

"Yes sir, we won't fail you. Next time we'll get the pink-haired girl." Keiko said.

"So why was it so hard to grab one girl may I ask?" Shinku inquired.

"The problem was that there were some interferences in Konoha, we had a girl that took control of Keiko, a pink-haired seal ninja that petrified me, and some kid that claimed he had the nine-tailed fox," Kagome said, catching Shinku's interest.

"Nine-tailed fox you say?" Shinku said, interested in this new revelation. "I was always told to stay away from two factors when trying to retrieve Ashimaru… The Akatsuki, and the Jinchuriki… You mean to tell me you encountered that nine-tailed fox?"

"Well maybe, if it truly is then the pink-haired girl must be his mate?" Keiko said.

"Then I guess I should awaken my contingency plan for something like this," Shinku said, walking down the hall. He figured that if he was gonna conquer the world he was bound to fight against the might of the nine-tailed fox. He knew about Naruto Uzumaki and how powerful of a ninja he was becoming, but never in his wildest dreams would he be with the girl he infused with Ashimaru. So he would walk down a long hall in his castle. The two girls followed, interested in what their boss had up his sleeve.

They soon came to a big door, he opened it. It revealed what looked to be a woman with long red hair, she was wearing a weird-looking mask with kanji written all over it. She wore chakra armor covering her body. He walked into the room and her head would look up at him.

"Ahh my dear, it's time for you to awaken and retrieve something for me." He said, with an evil chuckle.

"I live to obey my master." The woman said, before leaving out the door.
