First Person P.O.V.

Monday, ?:?

I wake up, unfortunately, to the feel of sunlight pouring directly into my eyes from a crack in one of the walls opposite to the side of the room I sleep in, causing me to let out a small groan and cover my eyes with the back of my hand before getting out of my bed.

Looking around, I almost instantly notice that quite a lot of people are still sleeping in their beds, apparently I was one of the first ones to wake up today, which is a first, usually I'm the one that sleeps in.

Picking up my half-drunken bottle of alcohol from the ground and chugging the rest of it before placing it back down, I walk out of the barracks and into the main sector/living quarters of the base, everyone who woke up early like me seems to be in here killing time through doing stuff like playing card games, one person who's currently in a game of Blackjack notices that I've entered and looks up at me, waving in my general direction, prompting me to wave back at him before he goes back to his game.

Pulling out my Scroll, I take note that the time is currently '6:00 A.M.' which explains why practically everyone is asleep right now.

Soon after I finish checking the time, I see a small notification appear in the corner of the screen, the sound of the Scroll's of all the other people in the room getting a notification goes off around the same time I get mine, so this is probably a notice from one of the higher-ups or something similar, causing me to mutter under my breath.

"What are we all getting notified over?"

Opening the message, it was apparently sent to us by the leader of the Vale branch of the White Fang, the angsty bull dude himself, Adam Taurus.

[boss dude]

[boss dude: All personnel: You are now expected to report to the Vale White Fang central base within the following hour. Report there exactly at 7:00AM. No excuses will be made for anyone who fails to arrive here at the appropriate time. Do not let me down.]

Oh fuck.

"Oh fuck, Adam himself?! Hell does he need us for so early in the morning?"

I quickly turn off my Scroll and pocket it, heading out of the main sector and soon after out of the facility as I begin to walk towards the central base, not bothering to get out of my outfit since it's six in the morning and not that many people are awake right now, the chances of me getting spotted are pretty low right now.

Soon after I start walking, I notice the sounds of various footsteps from behind me, turning around, I spot that everyone that was previously inside of the main sector, alongside a lot of people who were previously sleeping, are also walking towards the central base, guess the threat of letting down the boss was enough of a wake-up call for most of them.

As I continue moving, I end up walking past Junior's club, which isn't looking so hot ever since the whole fight that went down yesterday, apparently the whole scuffle of Yang v All Of Junior's Workers ended up with one of the walls being completely destroyed, alongside another one taking a whole lotta damage, various bullet and fist-sized holes dotted all over it, alongside the broken parts of the weapons used by Junior's men, like the blades of swords and heads of fire axes (which I incorrectly called hatchets yesterday).

Hm.

Slowly backpedaling away from the rest of the Fang walking towards the central base and towards the rubble of Junior's, I grab various parts that were broken off from the sword of one worker and speedily stuff it into my magazine pouch for safe-keeping.

Looks like I'm gonna be having a new melee weapon soon.

Once I finish stuffing the broken weapon parts into my pouch, I submerge myself back into the crowd of acolyte's heading towards the base, the walk there is uneventful, not being seen by anyone since I'm pretty sure most people are asleep right now, and before I know it, I'm at the entrance of the base, currently being guarded by a few people in stolen police officer uniforms, covering the entrance of the place in caution tape to stop any civilians from wandering in here, to help keep the place hidden.

The place itself is another warehouse, this one being a decent bit larger though, a few windows and walls of the building were vandalized by a few of us on purpose to make it look like the place is run-down and being taped off for future demolition.

I lift the tape up and walk under it, into the facility, the inside of the building is pretty bland, just serving as a hallway that leads to various other rooms of the building, alongside various Fang members dotted around it, each armed with their own weapons, serving as extra security.

Heading down the hall and over to the room at the very end of it, pushing past the door, it appears to be a large auditorium with dozens of seats dotted all around the place, various acolyte's are already present and in their own chosen seats, waiting for the meeting to start, nearly every seat is full so I guess that detour I took to Junior's was just long enough for everyone else to get here before me.

Over at the front of the auditorium, stood near a podium on top of the little circle/stage thing every auditorium has, is the main man himself, Adam Taurus, who seems to be getting ready to start the meeting/make his announcement, noticing this, I speed-walk over to one of the few empty seats left in the area and sit down, the other remaining seats being taken soon after by the last members that got here, Adam starting to speak soon after.

Adam: "Everyone, as you may all have already read from the message that I sent to all of you, I have called this meeting for today because of a recent development within our organization as well as our fight with the Vale police force yesterday. This meeting's main topic is going to involve a shift in our organization's agenda as a result of what has recently happened."

We fought the police yesterday? I thought the only noteworthy thing that went down that day was the raid.

"We fought against the feds yesterday? Huh...never knew."

I lean back into my chair a bit after taking in this info as I continue to listen to Adam's speech, and as he talks, I notice that for some reason, he doesn't seem as calm and collected as he usually does, although he's doing a pretty good job at hiding his change in demeanor, only really noticed it from a slight raise in his voice mid-speech.

Adam: "If you're unaware of how everything yesterday went, let me summarize things for you. The Vale Police force decided to raid a warehouse that was serving as one of our base of operations, with it being a completely unexpected attack to all of us present at the facility. While we were able to fend off their assault without too much difficulty, it did result in a massive amount of property damage to the local area as well as the public being made more aware of our presence in the Vale region."

Damn.

"Damn, guess we're gonna need to be more discreet with our stuff now,"

I mutter to myself under my breath before leaning my head towards the person on my right and whispering to them.

"...How much you wanna bet he only sounds a little more pissy right now cause his girlfriend ditched him recently?"

The person I whispered this to lets out a small snicker before responding to my comment.

White Fang member: "Hah, yeah, probably so. But still, Adam's a bit touchy right now, so I'd suggest you keep quiet from now on until he's done talking before you make him more pissed."

"Fair point."

I lean my head away from them once I finish speaking and go back to listening to the announcement.

Adam: "With our presence in Vale being revealed, it is my decision that we are going to be changing the way we operate from this point forward. We are still going to continue our fights against the humans that have tormented our people for so long, but the way we do so is going to be a bit more under the radar, missions from now on will be more stealth-oriented, no more blowing up doors with high explosives and things among the sort. This is to prevent something like what happened yesterday from happening again at any of our other locations in Vale."

Probably for the best, gonna miss blowing stuff up all willy-nilly though.

Adam: "That will be all about the change of plans. You all are free to leave now."

Once he ends the meeting, everyone in the room, myself included, gets up from their seats and starts heading towards the exit and back to the wherever they're station at, that being the warehouse in my case.

"Makes sense, can't be too rowdy anymore since it'll put us at risk of being tracked down."

I exit the room, pushing past the various other Fang members also trying to leave alongside me, although a few of them do stick around in the halls to talk about the meeting, not very many though.

Once outside of the building, I start my walk back to the warehouse, before turning it into a jog soon after I noticed how bright it was outside and not wanting to be seen in uniform, luckily, I managed to make it into the facility without being seen by anyone after a few short minutes of jogging.

Walking back inside of the warehouse, it seems to be pretty empty, basically nobody inside the entrance, so either I'm here real early, everyone is in the living quarters or barracks, or they just went somewhere else.

"Damn, guess I came back early, might as well resupply."

Taking a left, I walk over and into the warehouse's armory, mainly serving as a place to restock on ammo after a mission, repair your weapons in case they got damaged, upgrade them if necessary, or grab one of the spare weapons hung up on the walls in case you somehow lose your main one.

Huh, apparently they added lockers to store spare weapons, neat.

Looking to the right, I spot one of the shelves we have set up in the room to hold our extra ammo boxes, the rest of the ammo being on the floor stored in either actual boxes or ammo cans we yoinked, said shelf being completely empty.

"Fuck, hope that shelf didn't have the ammo I need."

I grab my empty magazines out of my pocket and start looking around the room, thankfully the shelf right under the empty one had the exact ammo type I was looking for, amazing coincidence.

I grab the box of 5.45x39mm rounds and tear it open, alongside a second, loading both magazines with the bullets from the boxes before putting them into my pouch, right next to the very sharp broken sword bits.

Well, that's that.

Turning around, I walk out of the armory and back into the entrance of the warehouse, where there is now two people standing around and talking to one another, feeling curious, I walk over to them, making sure their backs are turned to me as I eavesdrop on their conversation.

? 1: "Seriously, how can Adam agree to work with her? I thought we didn't work with humans, it just doesn't make any kind of sense to me."

? 2: "Look, if Adam decided to make us allied with her, then there's a reason for it, alright? You shouldn't be questioning him like this."

Huh?

"Wait, allied with who? Who did we group up with? Nobody told me we teamed up with anyone."

The two people quickly make note of my presence but don't really say anything about me listening in on their conversation, instead just opting to answer my question, which I appreciate, the very noticeable sound of disbelief in his voice as he answers me.

? 1: "You-you don't know? Where were you yesterday! We allied with this woman called Cinder, it was a whole thing."

"I was out on a raid yesterday on an SDC-ran facility, guess I missed the announcement and nobody told me, anyways, who the hell is Cinder? I mean, I know she's a human based on what you said earlier, but what does she need us for?"

? 1: "Huh, I guess you missed out on the memo,"

There was a memo I didn't notice? Damn, really gotta check my Scroll more often.

? 1: "I mean, what she needs us for is something that I'm still trying to figure out myself. All I know about her is that she seems to be against humans, or at least Hunters, so she's got that going for her. Besides, Adam seemed to say that she will be working with us from now on, so I guess we are stuck with her whether we like it or not."

"Okay, I kinda get it, are we allied with just her or is there anyone else associated with her that we're gonna be helping now?"

The other person next to the one I've been talking to so far shrugs their shoulders before responding.

? 2: "From what Adam said, it seems like it'll primarily be her, her two subordinates, Emerald and Mercury I think is what they called themselves, and this dude named Roman who's friends with her or something like that."

"Oh, well, good to know, any idea as to where they are or are we just gonna have to wait till they need something from us to see em?"

? 1: "According to Adam, they're supposed to be heading here right now to talk to us sometime later. Though that's all I know about what's happening. We'll just have to wait until they arrive, I guess."

"Alright then, guess I'll just play the waiting game till they get here."

I walk away from the two and over to the main sector, stepping inside and plopping down on one of the couches we stole and moved here, pulling out my Scroll and turning it on, checking to see if I have any notifications or things among the sort.

Which I don't.

"Lame."

Now that I've confirmed that I don't have anything to do for a good while, I go onto DustNet, honestly the only real good browser out there right now, and look something up.

DustNet - hardware stores near me

Looking at the results, there is apparently a hardware store pretty close by, only a block away from the warehouse, actually.

"Might as well, would be a decent time-waster."

I get up from the couch and take off my White Fang uniform before beginning to follow the directions DustNet gave me to the hardware store, which is just to take a left once I leave the warehouse, walk to the end of the street and to the next, then just keep on moving forward for thirty seconds or so.

Walking inside, the store is relatively empty, there only being a few people in it currently, and almost all of them are workers.

Now, where are the saws?

It takes a bit of looking before I find the aisle containing the tool I'm looking for, I'm able to find some small handheld saws, power drills, stuff among the sort, but no-wait, nevermind, it's right there, only one left in stock.

Here I was thinking they were all out of chainsaws.

Grabbing said chainsaw, I walk over to the front of the store, towards the cashier working here currently, and place it down on the counter they are currently working behind.

?: "Your total for the purchase of this chainsaw is 75 Lien, would you like to pay in cash or with your Scroll?"

"Damn that's cheap, is there a sale on this or something?"

I fish around in my pockets for a bit before pulling out the required amount of Lien and placing it down on the counter, which they take and put in the register before answering me.

?: "Nope, no sale is going on for this item at the moment. The reason why it's cheap in the first place is that we barely sell any of them around here. Most folk in this part of Vale don't have much use for a chainsaw, after all."

"Makes sense, not that many lumberjacks around anymore, too many Grimm in the forests for there to be."

But the ones that are still around are doing really well money-wise, a good career choice if you're alright with the risk of being mauled on the job.

Picking my newly-bought chainsaw back up, I walk out of the store and back to the warehouse, going back into the main sector and putting my uniform back on before giving it the tool a quick one-over.

The fuel cap is located around the left side of the saw, pulling it off and looking under the cap, there's a small notice saying that the fuel tank only accepts Burn Dust as fuel, which is good! We've got Burn Dust for days, it's the main thing we've been going after for the past few weeks or so.

Shoving the fuel cap into my pocket and leaving the saw on the floor, I exit the main sector and quickly slink off and into the storage room, which is thankfully empty, and still has all the Dust crates we stole yesterday in the same spot, sometimes they take some of the Dust from our storage room and move it to other facilities in Vale in case they need some.

Opening one crate and looking inside, I'm able to spot a few Burn Dust crystals lying at the top, which I quickly grab six of, shoving four into my pocket and keeping two in my hand as I close the crate and walk back into the living quarters.

With the two Dust Crystals in my hands, I bash them against a nearby wall a few times to get them to break and turn into their more powdery form, some might say that smacking a very flammable and sometimes explosive substance against a wall over and over to break it is a pretty stupid idea, and they're right, but I honestly don't care right now cause my method still works.

Once the crystal has been turned into a powder, I walk back over to my chainsaw and pick it up, pouring all the powder from my hand into the fuel tank, pulling the cap out of my pocket and sealing the tank back up with it once I'm done pouring.

With my chainsaw now fueled, I sit back down on the couch I was previously on as I wait for something to happen, anything, I'm really bored and just wanna do something right now.

I don't have to wait for long since, a few seconds after I sit down, I hear the faint sounds of multiple footsteps coming from the entrance, standing up and peering out towards said entrance through the door, I spot four people by themselves, the two people who were talking around the entrance earlier aren't here anymore, no idea where they went.

The first person I spot is a woman in front of the other three, leading them from the looks of it, she has black hair and amber eyes, wearing a red mini-dress along with some feather-looking thing around her hip, pretty sure this is Cinder, just feels like she is.

The second person I see is another woman next to Cinder, appearing younger than her, around my age, maybe a bit older, she has mint green hair, an olive-green crop top, white pants and brown chaps alongside a brown belt, and there are the very visible dual revolvers holstered behind her back, either in her pants or some holsters near her lower back, why she doesn't just keep them around her hips or something, I dunno.

Also she actually has some melanin in her, haven't seen anyone like that in a while.

The third person is a dude also next to Cinder, he had grey hair, grey eyes, a grey jacket, a lotta grey going on with this guy, he also has some grey vambraces, at least his pants are black, alongside these finger-less gloves he's wearing, don't really see any weapon on him, but he does have a side saddle on each shoe he's wearing. (for some reason? Not where I'd store my ammo but to each their own I guess)

And the last person...wait a damn second...

"Wait a second, I've seen that guy before! He's the dude in the nice suit I saw at Junior's yesterday before Yang trashed the place with her fight."

Guess he's Roman, neat name.

Once I finish talking, I open the door the rest of the way and walk out into the entrance, towards the group of four, this seems to grab the attention of all four of them, most likely because they were facing towards the general direction of the room I just came out of, and once I get close enough to them, Roman takes a few steps towards me and speaks up.

Roman: "Well, looks like we got a surprise visitor here! Who are you supposed to be, kid? Didn't see you at our little meeting yesterday, so I'm assuming that you're some kind of new recruit or something along those lines."

I straighten my posture and force my facial expression to fall flat as he addresses me, responding to him soon after.

"Dizzy! White Fang infantry division, sector, 4B! I am not a new recruit, I've been part of the Fang for over a month, I was just not at the meeting yesterday due to partaking in a surprise raid on a facility, sir!"

He nods his head once he finishes listening to my response, a smile appearing on his face as he speaks again.

Roman: "A member that knows his place and how to properly address his superiors. I like that! So, you're with the infantry division, huh? Can't say that I'm surprised."

"Yes, I am part of the infantry division due to joining recently, and although my rank is low and I haven't been on many operations, I will still try my best to assist you to the best of my ability with whatever you need done from me, sir!"

He gives me another nod, now with an added faint chuckle.

Roman: "Well, aren't you a polite one. That alone makes me like you kid, but enough of that, I got a job for you to do."

Finally, something to do!

"Oh, what do you need done from me sir?"

Roman's expression shifts to a more serious one as he glances behind him towards Cinder, who stares at me for a few moments, narrowing her eyes at me before looking away and giving him a nod, with him turning back to me afterwards.

Roman: "You see this building?"

Roman says as he pulls out a photo of a nearby Dust shop out of his pocket, it's one I've seen before a few times in passing, it's pretty close to our facility, maybe a 15 minute walk or so.

Roman: "Me and a couple others are gonna hit that place today in a few hours, and I want you to tag along as backup, think you can help me with this?"

"Y-yes sir! Robbing places is my specialty! It's the only thing I've really done since I've been part of this group, i'd be delighted to help you out on this mission, what time do we strike?"

Roman: "Good, good. That's the kind of enthusiasm I like to see. Well, we're planning on hitting the store in about an hour and a half or so, but in the meantime, I want you to stay close to me in case we need to make some quick moves. Can you do that?"

"Yes, absolutely sir."

I give him a nod of my own once I finish speaking and relax my posture.

Roman: "Alright then, stay close to me in the meantime kid. And try not do anything stupid like the majority of these animals usually try to do."

Damn.

"Absolutely sir."

Roman: "I like you, kid, at the very least, you actually seem to know how things are supposed to be done around here. What's your name?"

"Oh yeah, told you it earlier but I guess I was talking a little too fast for you to catch it, eh? Sorry about that, my name's Dizzy, pleasure to be working with you, sir."

Roman: "Yeah, you're right, you did tell me already. I guess I'm just getting used to dealing with so many idiots here that I kinda forgot how to differentiate between them. But you're pretty smart actually. A bit too smart for your own good even."

I can't tell if that last part is sarcastic or not but I'm just gonna take it as a compliment.

"As I've been told before, part of why my parents never liked me, I was always the right one in every argument!"

I nudge him with my shoulder a few times and let out a cackle as I finish speaking, with him letting out a short laugh with me, and once my laughter dies down, I continue.

"So, anything you need me to do before the robbery?"

Roman: "Nah, not really. Just stay close to me for now and we should be all set. Once the robbery comes, I'll tell you the exact duties that you'll have to do when the time comes. Is that clear?"

"Yes sir."

APPARENTLY, it wasn't an hour and a half wait until we went to go rob the store, it was actually a half hour wait, once said half hour passed, Roman made a swift hand signal which he informed me earlier means that it's time for us to go, once I spot the motion, I walk back into the living quarters and pick up my chainsaw, alongside a long, cardboard box that was conveniently sat near it in one of the corners of the room, bringing both of the objects back to the entrance with him, he seems pretty confused as to why I'm holding a chainsaw.

Roman: "You're planning on taking that thing with you on the job?"

"I need a melee, if I only bring a gun everywhere and get in a fight, the second I run out of ammo, I'm fucked, need something for CQC."

I hear him laugh slightly over the mention of me needing a chainsaw for CQC as I open up the box then place my tool inside of it, closing it up and then lifting the box with both hands when I'm done.

"Ready to go now, sir."

Roman: "Alright then, let's go kid, it's show time."

Once he's done talking, he walks out of the warehouse and towards the direction of the Dust shop, with me following him from close behind, as we exit, two more men appear from an alleyway we pass and walk with us, they are dressed in the same outfits Junior's men wear, so he probably hired them, one of them has a sword behind his back and a briefcase in one hand and the other has a pistol in his pocket, MM-52, nice.

"So those are the 'others' he told me about earlier..."

I mutter to myself as we continue to walk over to the shop, as we move, the few civilians we see move away from us, or more accurately from Roman, seemingly out of fear, guess he's built up some notoriety around here, good for him.

After a good ten or so minutes of walking, we end up in front of the entrance door to the shop, right before we enter, though, Roman turns around and takes a cigar that he started smoking earlier out of his mouth before saying a few words to us.

Roman: "Okay, there's only one worker here and he seems unarmed, so there's no need to attack him, only use your weapons for intimidation unless if he tries to reach for anything, if he does, kill him. Got it?"

I raise one of my hands and give him a quick salute before moving it back onto the box I'm holding, the other two nodding in response to his words instead, which causes Roman to nod back before putting his cigar back into his mouth and entering the store with the three of us following him in, I make sure to glance up at the name of the store before I enter though.

"From Dust Till Dawn...ooooh, I get it."

After we all enter, Roman walks over to the man working behind the counter of the store, some old dude with grey hair, before talking his cigar out of his mouth again, flicking the ash off of it and speaking up.

Roman: "Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a Dust shop open this late?"

Right as he stops talking, the man next to me with the gun in his pocket pulls it out and points said gun at the old man, who immediately starts panicking as he raises his hands above his head.

Shopkeeper: "P-please! Just take my Lien and leave!"

Man, this box is getting kinda annoying to carry, I'm just gonna set it down.

Right after I finish setting it down on the floor, Roman sticks his finger in front of the shopkeeper's face as if to tell him to shut up without actually saying so before speaking again.

Roman: " Shhh, shhh, shhh, shhh, calm down, we're not here for your money."

He turns to look at me and the two others before continuing.

Roman: "Grab the Dust."

The man next to me with the briefcase in his hands opens it up soon after he's done talking, revealing what's inside, which is a few cylindrical canisters, I've only used these twice before but I'm pretty sure I remember what they're for and how to use them, they're for storing a bunch of powdered Dust in one place, and there's a bunch of tubes on the wall to our left full of powdered Dust.

Grabbing one of the cylinders and opening it, I walk over to the wall and connect the hole where Dust comes out from the tube, the one I chose being the one full of Burn Dust, with the hole of the cylinder, pressing a button located on the tube to start pouring Dust into the cylinder, as I fill it up with Dust, I make sure to listen in on whatever Roman is telling the shopkeeper, apparently he's asking him for Burn Dust crystals, uncut ones to be specific, and turning around, I spot the dude with the sword and briefcase place said briefcase down on the shopkeeper's counter for me and the dude with the pistol to grab once we're done filling up the ones we currently have, oh yeah, the guy with the gun is filling his tube up with Wind Dust.

Once my canister is full of Dust, I close it back up and walk over to briefcase with the rest of the canisters, placing the full one down on the counter to grab later once we're done, as I grab the empty canister, though, I spot the dude with the sword walk away from the counter and over to one of the corners of the store, curious, I place the empty canister back and follow him to the corner he walked off to, peering past a shelf and spotting him talking to some girl with a red hood on, listening to some very loud music while reading a magazine, can't really see what's on it from here though.

"Damn, does she not know the store's being robbed? Music must be real loud."

Swordsman: "Hey, I said hands in the air! You got a death wish or something!?"

The girl doesn't respond, probably not even hearing him cause of how loud her music is, and after a bit of waiting with no response, the swordsman eventually just turns her around manually, causing her hoodie to fall from her head as she stares at him, a surprised expression on her face for a moment before he motions for her to lower the headphones she has on, which she does, finally responding right after.

Hooded Girl: "Yes?"

Swordsman: "I said, put your hands in the air, now!"

He yells at her, sounding pretty annoyed as he does, the girl takes a short moment to process the command before she speaks.

Hooded Girl: "Are you... robbing me?"

She questions him, sounding pretty calm for someone who is about to be robbed, causing the swordsman to let out an annoyed groan.

Swordsman: "Yes!"

Hooded Girl: "Ooohhh."

Once she's done realizing what kind of situations he's in, she reaches behind her back and pulls out a weird-looking, red, box-y object, pressing or pulling something on it which causes it to extend outwards a bit, now looking more like a weird gun instead of a weird box as she bashes his head with said weird gun, knocking him out cold.

Ah fuck.

My eyes widen as I watch her knock the swordsman out like a light with little to no effort as I turn to look at Roman, poking his shoulder repeatedly to try and grab his attention, talking to him and pointing at the girl in the hood once I do.

"Uh, sir? We have an issue."

Looking back at her, she's now pointing her weird gun at the two of us and loading it, giving him only a few seconds to speak to me as she does.

Roman: "Damn it. Kid, get in her way! Show her we're not playing around!"

Sir yes sir!

My face morphs into a scowl as I look at her and unsling my AK74U from behind my back, flicking the selector switch to semi-auto as I start to fire at her general direction to try and get her to back off.

Hooded Girl: "Woah!"

She reacts quickly to my shots, moving behind a nearby counter to hide for a moment before reappearing and firing a shot of her own at me, giving me a chance to really look at who I'm fighting, she appears to be a young girl, a bit younger than me, she has black hair with red tips and silver eyes, that's rare, she's also wearing a red cloak, a combat skirt and combat boots, with a side saddle full of bullets around her skirt for whatever reason.

Y'know, I'd probably say she looks nice if it weren't for the fact that she's currently shooting at me and one of my superiors.

Have to stifle that thought quickly though as she starts to speak in-between us shooting at each other.

Hooded Girl: "Don't you have any common decency?"

"I'm here to help rob this place, not to be an upstanding citizen!"

I holler out to her as I continue to take potshots at her, looking behind me and motioning for the dude with the gun to move forward and do something about her, he does just that, dashing towards her and aiming the barrel of his gun at her head, but right as he does that, she gives him the same treatment as the swordsman, knocking him out via hitting his head with the stock of her gun.

"Ooooh fuck that was all our backup, it's just us now sir,"

I turn to look at Roman as I continue, making sure to keep on firing as I do.

"Wanna grab the canisters and bail? I can make a distraction if you can get us a ride outta here."

He looks over at the hooded girl and scoffs before looking over at me.

Roman: "Good idea. Go keep her busy while I grab the rest of the Dust."

"Got it sir."

I sling my gun behind my back and open up the box I brought with me, pulling my chainsaw out of it and yanking the cord back, starting it as I sprint over to her location, only a few feet away from her.

"Hope that thing turns into a melee too!"

Upon seeing me looming above her with a chainsaw in my hands, her eyes widen in shock for a good moment as she soon backs away from me.

Hooded Girl: "You've got to be kidding me..."

She soon presses another button on her weapon, it now transforming into an extremely large scythe, twirling it around a couple of times before getting back into a defensive position as she prepares to go back to fighting me.

"Cool scythe, like the paint job, let's see how good you are with it."

I dash towards her as I twist my waist to the right a bit before turning to the left, using the motion of my body to get some extra force as I swing my chainsaw to the left towards her, aiming to cut her torso.

She responds by taking a step back from me, twirling her scythe around again before striking my chainsaw away from her as she begins twirling her scythe rapidly around her side, slowly approaching me as she does so.

Hooded Girl: "You need to be faster if you're planning to hit me."

"Kinda hard to swing that fast with a chainsaw, and it's even harder with how nimble you seem to be, seriously, you're twirling that scythe that's as big as me like it's a foam prop and dodging like crazy, yet you look younger than me, either you're a ballerina or something similar, it's a Semblance thing or you're just that good, don't know which one I'd prefer it to be, if any."

She seems taken aback from my statement, her face now sporting what seems to be a blush for...some reason, dunno why, as she continues to approach me, still twirling her scythe around like a baton twirler in a marching band.

Hooded Girl: "Yeah, this scythe is pretty big compared to me, I guess I'm just really talented at using it. My Semblance could let me move fast enough to dodge your attacks, but I'd rather just use it to do stuff like this."

Right after she finished talking, she seemingly disappears, and in her place, an extremely fast red blur circles around me over and over, leaving rose petals on the floor in it's wake before she reappears in place of the red blur, trying to deliver an overhead swing with her scythe to me.

I jerk my arm upwards in order to strike her scythe away with my chainsaw, kicking her away from me right after, it seems she didn't expect me to kick her since my kick actually ended up connecting with her, which I take advantage of to back away from her a bit.

"Fuck, dunno if I can keep this up for much longer...sir? Are we ready to bail yet?!"

I yell out as I wait for a response from Roman, who I soon spot towards my right holding the two full canisters of Dust me and the gun dude got earlier, heading out of the store as he responds to me.

Roman: "Our rides over on the roof of a building across from here, quit screwing around with your new girlfriend and follow me!"

WHAT.

"THAT ISN'T FUNNY SIR!"

I let go of the trigger of my chainsaw and chuck it back into the box I carried it here in, grabbing said box and running out of the store after Roman as he heads towards a nearby building, climbing up a ladder that leads to the roof of the building, I climb up it as well while still holding onto my box (don't ask how, I just did), and once I'm on the roof, I spot a grey Bullhead waiting for the both of us there.

As Roman gets on the Bullhead, I hear the faint sounds of the hooded girl climbing up the ladder, and the not-so-faint sound of her response to Roman's quip.

Hooded Girl: "Hey! Don't call me his girlfriend! I don't even know his name!"

And vice versa.

I run over to the Bullhead and chuck my box inside of it through the opened door before hopping inside, and, after realizing that her comment gave me the perfect opportunity for a one-liner, turn around and unsling my AK again.

"The name's Dizzy, don't forget it, loser!"

Probably could've made a better one but I don't care, felt cool saying that.

I take aim at her with one hand and fire one last shot at her, aimed directly at her torso, trying to hit just about any organ, don't really care which.

The girl lifts up her scythe to block the shot, but that proves to be unnecessary, cause right before the bullet makes contact with her scythe, some blonde lady falls in from nowhere in front of her, causing a decent bit of dust to appear from her landing, but not enough to cover them for long, looking at the two, in front of the blonde lady who just airdropped herself into the fight, there is what seems to be a purple shield in front of her that is probably what blocked my bullet.

Ignoring the woman that just dropped in, the hooded girl decides to get her two cents in from behind the safety of her shield.

Hooded Girl: "You're not gonna get away with this, Dizzy, you got that?!"

Dork.

Turning my attention back to the blonde lady again, in her hands is a...riding crop? Who the fuck brings a riding crop into a shootout?! Only people I know of that do stupid shit like that are-

Hunters.

oooOOOOH FUCK!

I turn around to speak with Roman and whoever our driver is, that apparently being Cinder, as I flick my gun's selector switch to full-auto and fire what little bullets I have left in my magazine to try and at least deter her.

"Sir and ma'am, we've got a Huntress here!"

Upon hearing my words, Cinder gets the Bullhead off of the ground and into the air before responding to me.

Cinder: "A Huntress huh? That figures. I'll deal with her."

That's probably for the best.

"Alright, you do that ma'am, I'll take the wheel, I took a crash course on how to fly these when I was 14."

I unsling my AK behind my back and get into the driver's seat of the Bullhead, lifting the vehicle further into the air and to get ready to fly the hell away from the two women on the roof, Roman, who is in the passenger's seat to my right, speaking up as I do.

Roman: "So, she seemed pretty pissed."

I shoot him a quick glance before responding.

"Are you talking about Cinder, the Huntress or the girl in the hood?"

A smirk grows on his face as he leans back into his seat before responding.

Roman: "The girl in the hood. I saw you two flirting, she didn't seem happy about the way you shot off that last bullet at her."

Oumdamn it, should've known it was gonna be something like this once I saw that smirk.

"Once again, not funny, sir, pretty sure shooting at her and trying to cut her down with a chainsaw doesn't count as flirting to most."

Roman: "What can I say? I think you two had some chemistry."

As we converse, I can hear the sounds of whatever projectiles the Huntress and hooded girl are firing at us hitting the Bullhead, the sounds of their impacts reverberating throughout the vehicle, causing it to shake and wobble, the only thing I can hear of Cinder's retaliation being something that smells like the smoke of a burning flame, probably a Semblance thing.

Ignoring their fight though, I scoff at Roman's comment and start to fly away from the two on the roof, pressing a button near the joystick used to pilot the Bullhead itself to close it's door as I start to fly this thing back to our warehouse, making sure to move it there as fast as I possibly can.

Once I'm near the warehouse, I lower the vehicle down to one of the sides of the warehouse where it'll be obscured from the vision of anyone walking by it, someone else can move it back into it's hangar, I'm not doing that.

Opening the door for us to exit, I get out of my seat, and Roman does the same, he goes over to grab the canisters we took from the Dust shop, handing me the one I filled up with Burn Dust and keeping the Wind Dust one for himself.

Roman: "We've got the Dust, now let's get inside of the warehouse, I don't want us to be attacked again while we're outside."

"Yup,"

As I carry the canister, alongside my box, back inside of the warehouse and over to the storage room, I continue.

"That could've gone better, but it also could've gone worse, I mean, we got something outta it, so I guess this was a success?"

Roman: "That's true, and you managed to survive a fight with a Huntress and attract the attention of a cute girl, I'd count that as a win."

I let out a groan once I hear his comment as chuckles to himself, heading into the storage room, following him inside shortly after, once we both place our Dust canisters down on the ground, I respond to him.

"Oum, you are not gonna let me live that encounter down, are you?"

Roman: "Never; but in all seriousness, you're really lucky that Cinder decided to jump in and save your ass, you were doing nothing to that Huntress and she was getting pretty close to sending you to your grave."

"Yeah, whatever that shield thing that Huntress made was annoying to try and break, gonna need to invest in some higher calibers in the future for penetrating or breaking stuff like that, or just spend more ammo."

Roman: "You should, but guns like that are pricey, and usually a pain to lug around unless if it mechashifts into a more compact form."

Fair point.

He pulls out a Scroll from his pocket and looks at something before and talking again, glancing at the screen of his Scroll, it looks like he was doing some quick math to see how much the Dust we stole would be worth if resold to some less than reputable sources.

Roman: "Ah, and the job we just finished up was worth about 2100 Lien, so how about you get 250, I get the rest and we call it a day?"

"Sounds fair to me,"

I unsling my AK and pull the empty magazine out of it, putting it into my pocket before loading a new magazine into it from my magazine pouch, pulling the charging handle back and slinging it behind my back again before continuing.

"It was nice working with you sir, looking forward to any future ventures with you."

Roman nods at me and starts to make his way out of the storage room before stopping a few seconds later and turning around to look at me.

Roman: "Tell you what, you stick around with me for the next few jobs and I'll bump the average cut you get up to 300, how about that?"

"Sounds good, I could always use something to help keep me busy, when will these jobs be taking place, if they even have a set date?"

Roman: "Cinder hasn't given any specific date to the jobs yet, but she mentioned something about tomorrow, so we'll see. I'll try to let you know as soon as I get the details."

"Understood sir, I'll be on my way now, no need to bother you any longer than necessary."

I give him a short salute before I grab the box with my chainsaw in it and pick it back up, with Roman giving me a two-fingered salute of his own before walking away from me and out of the storage room.

Roman: "See ya around, kid."

As he leaves, I walk out of the storage room as well and back into the barracks of the building, speeding back to my bunk before setting the box down near my bed, apparently everyone was in the barracks the entire time, some of them playing card games, a few reading books or messing around on their Scrolls, two people around the other end of the room playing rock paper scissors, etc.

As they all do their own thing, I reach under my pillow and pull out a small bag full of peanuts I've taken from various bars and have been keeping for when I get hungry, pouring around half of the bag into my mouth as I sit on my bed and eat them, once done, I get under the covers of my bed and sprawl my limbs out to get in a comfier position as I get ready to sleep.

As I start to drift off to sleep, I hear the sounds of the others in the room doing whatever it is they are doing begin to die off as they all start to fall asleep as well, which is nice, makes sleeping a lot easier, and I'm gonna need rest if I'm gonna be doing another job tomorrow.

Hopefully that one goes better than the Dust shop robbery.
