First Person P.O.V.

Wednesday, 20:13

"Aaaaah fuck."

I slowly raise my hands in the air as I notice the somewhat familiar-looking girl holding the blade of a sword up to Roman's neck, trying not to move to suddenly so she doesn't end up deciding he has a little too much blood running through his veins and chooses to drain some of it from him.

All the other acolytes that we brought along do the same, and so does Roman, tilting his chin up in the process to get some space between his neck and the, what looks to be the blade of a katana, held up to it.

Roman: "And who the hell do you think you are?"

The girl ignores his question and instead chooses to use her free hand to take off her bow, revealing a pair of cat ears on top of her head.

?: "Brothers of the White Fang! Why are you aiding this scum?"

I raise an eyebrow due to the unexpected question before starting to slowly move one hand behind my back and under my uniform, reaching for my rifle to use against her in case she tries anything.

Everyone else seemingly had the same reaction as I did to her question, albeit earlier, they're all already pointing guns at her, the only person who didn't react like this is Roman himself, who just simply laughed at the question that was asked.

Roman: "Oh, kid, didn't you get the memo?"

?: "What are you talking about?"

Roman: "The White Fang and I are going on a joint business venture together!"

?: "Tell me what it is or I'll put an end to your little operation.

As she finishes speaking, the wind in the area starts to blow more intensely as the sound of engines can be heard above everyone, revealing two more Bullheads full of the extra helping hands we were meant to have helping us move the shipping containers approaching the area.

Roman: "I wouldn't exactly call it a little operation..."

Wait a damn second, I just remembered who that girl is!

I yank my AK74U out from behind my back before leveling the barrel of my gun towards her face.

"BLAKE! You traitorous prick, get out of here!"

Blake: "Wha-!?"

*BANG!* *BANG!* BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!*

I fire five rounds at her before she can finish her sentence, although due to whatever fuckery her Semblance let's her do, she manages to evade the shots, what looks to be a clone of her or something like that taking her place where she once was, behind Roman, the close disappearing after the rounds I shot out hit it.

Thankfully that little trick she pulled didn't let her get too far away, and I am able to spot her a few feet away from my higher-up, aiming my gun at her once more and firing various five-rounds bursts at her to try and get her to back off, a few of the bullets I shoot manage to graze her cheek as she retreats, but don't really do anything due to her Aura protecting her body.

I slowly start walking towards the area she ran off to as I shoot the last five rounds in my magazine out towards her.

"Hope you brought backup, you're gonna need it!"

She managed to get behind some cover so I can't see her anymore, but I sure as hell can hear her.

Blake: "Like always, I'm prepared."

"That was lame, work on your one-liners-OH WHAT THE FUCK?!"

Who the FUCK threw a banana peel at my face?!

I reach up and remove the food waste from my face, tossing it aside before starting to look around for whoever the person who did that was, which doesn't take that long as I spot them falling from the air and LANDING ON TOP OF MY FACE BEFORE JUMPING OFF OF IT LIKE A DAMN SPRINGBOARD.

WHAT THE FUCK.

?: "Leave her alone!"

I get up from the floor I was sent to after the unknown blonde dude with sporting a monkey tail jumped off of my head, dusting myself off with one hand before taking the empty magazine out from my rifle, putting it away before grabbing onto my gun with both hands by the barrel, holding it like a bat.

"I'm gonna harm you for that."

The blonde prick I just threatened apparently didn't take me seriously in the slightest, just turning towards me with a grin on his face, holding a red and gold staff with two triggers in his hands, taking a fighting stance.

Also I heard Blake say 'Sun!' after that dude jumped off my head, so I guess that's what his name is.

Sun (I presume?): "All by yourself?"

"No, with the various armed men exiting the Bullhead's behind you."

After I finish speaking, Sun looks over his shoulder and spots the large amount of armed individuals donning White Fang uniforms exiting the Bullhead's that just landed here a few minutes ago.

Sun: "Oh."

Opportunity!

With him distracted, I raise my rifle up and dash towards him, swinging it down aimed towards his arm, trying to get him to lose his grip on his staff, unfortunately for me, he just so happens to, honestly unsurprisingly, hear me running towards me and turn around to raise his staff and block the stock of my gun before it can hit him.

I let out a scoff before raising my gun back up and repeatedly swinging at his body, aiming for each of his arms as I try to disarm him, albeit in a pretty ineffective way, but with each swing I make, he reposition's his staff to block my swing before it can make contact with his body, which started to get really annoying real fast after the first few times.

I switch up my strategy and try to blindside him a few times, waiting until he's focusing on me before swinging down onto his arms, which never ended up working, but it was worth trying, at least my constant swinging is forcing him to just focus on blocking my attacks instead of actually hitting me.

Sun: "Would it kill you to fight fair!?"

"You probably would if I did! Anyways shouldn't you be worried about Blake over there?"

Sun: "Oh, I'm sure she's doing fine."

"Whatever you say."

After I let out my small quip, I try to hit one of his arms with the stock of my gun again before stopping at the last second, right as he lifts his staff up to block my 'attack,' lifting my left leg up and kicking him square in the chest right after.

I guess I must have hit him in the solar plexus or something because the kick caused him to stumble backwards a foot or so, knocking the wind out of him slightly before he recomposes himself a moment after my hit, looking a bit more pissed now.

Sun: "And what's that supposed to mean?"

I ignore his question as I start circling around him, keeping a tight grip on my rifle's barrel as I eye his staff up and down, narrowing my eyes at it as I inspect it for a bit.

"Mechashift, hope whatever that turns into is good enough to take out over a dozen armed folk."

Sun: "Mechashift? Who even calls it that?"

"Eh, that's what my family refers to weapons like that as, been running with it for years, anyways,"

I turn to fully face Sun as I take a few steps back from him, putting my rifle back behind my back before pulling out my shotgun, aiming the barrel of it directly at his chest, causing him to grip his staff more tightly and take a more defensive position.

"Die for me, will ya?"

Sun: "Are you serious? How about no-"

"Shut up."

*BANG!*

I cut him off mid-way through his sentence with a 10-gauge round directly to his chest, which he manages to block most of the pellets of using his staff, although a few get past his guard and go into his chest, unfortunately;

Aura.

Sun: "Hey, what the hell!"

"The hell? That did basically nothing! Oum, can Aura be annoying!"

I pump my shotgun once done yelling, holding the trigger down and pumping it twice, firing two more rounds aimed at his chest, which he just manages to dodge out of the way of through little more than some diving, only getting grazed by a few pellets, which just tear a bit of his jacket.

Did I mention he's got nothing on his torso but a jacket without a shirt? Hunters have a weird sense of fashion sometimes.

"Really hope the others aren't having as hard of a time fighting Blake, well, as long as there's only two of you."

Sun: "Oh trust me, they definitely are."

Annoying, I decide to start taking aim at is head now, although he'll definitely live cause of Aura, at least it'll probably disorient him if he get's hit-

"Hey!"

OUMDAMN IT.

"OH MY OUM I JUST HAD TO JINX MYSELF."

I snap my body in the direction of the voice, which is coming from up above the roof of a nearby building, the source of the voice that just rudely interrupted what would be my next shot being from none other than the hood-wearing girl with the over-sized scythe from the Dust shop robbery a few months ago, what the FUCK is she doing here?

And WHY did she bring some ginger girl as a tag-along?!

"What the hell do you want you Little Red Riding Hood wannabe? I thought I wouldn't have to see you again after that robbery, hell are you doing here interrupting my job again months later, got nothing better to do?!"

She, along with her unknown friend, jump down from the rooftop onto a nearby shipping container, the scythe-wielder taking a fighting stance as she stares me down-what the fuck I just saw her eyes dilate what the hell they aren't supposed to do that why did they do that why did her eyes widen that was weird.

Hooded Girl: "I do have plenty of other things to do, thank you very much! Like taking you into custody, for example."

"Lame, well, I prefer not being inside of a prison so can you...like, go away? Right now? I really don't wanna have to deal with fighting MORE hunters-in-training, Blake and this dude with the monkey tail are annoying enough."

A small frown grows on the girl's face, although I do notice her lips twitching slightly upward for a short moment.

Hooded Girl: "No, I didn't come here to be politely asked to leave by some petty crook who hides behind some flimsy mask. You can either surrender and be taken to prison, or you can make me force you to give up."

Wow, how long did you practice that one in the mirror for?

"Both of those options suck, I think I'll take my chances fighting you,"

I raise my shotgun up with one hand and aim it in her general direction.

"Pull out that red cube you call a gun, time for a rematch."

She lets out a sigh.

Hooded Girl: "Why are all the bad guys so uncreative with their nicknames for Crescent Rose? There has got to be better ones than 'red cube'."

"Not my fault that's what it looks like, anyways are we gonna fight or are you just gonna stand there?"

She doesn't respond to me near-instantly that time, instead just staring at me for a moment before hopping down from the shipping container she was on top of and onto the floor, next to Sun, wait nevermind, Sun's gone, guess he ran off to help Blake or something while I was busy talking.

Anyways, she hops off from the container and onto the floor, twirling her scythe around in an impressive, albeit a little showboaty if you ask me, display of prowess in wielding the thing before gently gripping it in her hands, aiming the head of it at me.

Hooded Girl: "Alright, bring it on."

"LET'S DANCE BI-AAAUGH!"

WHAT THE HELL SHE SHOT ME.

BEFORE I CAN EVEN FINISH MY SENTENCE, SHE FIRES A SINGLE SHOT FROM HER SCYTHE AT MY HEAD, DIRECTLY NAILING MY FOREHEAD AND SENDING ME BACKWARDS ONTO THE FLOOR.

MAN I HATE IRONY, KARMA, WHATEVER THIS IS.

SOMEHOW, the bullet she fired didn't pierce through my mask and send me straight to the afterlife, instead being flattened against the metal of said mask before falling to the floor, I hear the sounds of cracking and notice various cracks starting to spiderweb their way across every part of the mask, before eventually it just breaks into a dozen pieces, all of them falling onto the floor.

I raise my hand up to my head in case the force of that bullet hitting me caused any damage, which I think it didn't, I mean, I don't feel any bleeding or anything like that so I guess I'm fine, although she now knows what I look like, damn it.

And what did she hit me with anyways, a damn .50 BMG? That round hitting my mask felt like I just got punched directly in the face by a professional boxer, just with less disorientation and bleeding.

I sit up after a short while, the girl with the hood is just standing there and staring at my face for whatever reason, not moving an inch, once up, I look around the area before picking my shotgun back up with one hand, standing up fully and taking a moment to properly orient myself right after.

"Well, no use in wearing this anymore I guess."

With my free hand, I take off the hoodie of my uniform, letting my raccoon ears spring out into the cool air of the night for the first time in a good while, feels kinda nice to have them out in the open again.

"Hell are you staring at me like that for?"

It takes her a short moment and a bit of shaking her head to snap her out of whatever trance she's currently in and give me a response, her eyes still locked directly onto my face.

Hooded Girl: "I'm-I just-I wasn't expecting that mask to just break so easily."

"Well it did, now enough talk, have at you!"

I move my free hand to grab onto the forestock of my shotgun, firing a single round at her, but she instantly dodges it by doing that little thing with her semblance where she just turns into a blur and leaves behind a buncha rose petals, diving out of the whole semblance thing and performing a combat roll right as she hits the ground, her hair fluttering in the wind over the unnecessary maneuver.

"Hunters, always need to show off."

I reach into my pocket and pull out three shells, shoving them into my shotgun before firing at her three more times, prompting her to do the EXACT SAME THING AGAIN and dodge all of my shots, leaving a bunch of petals on the floor as she avoids all my shots.

Hooded Girl: "It's not showing off, it's a fighting style!"

"I don't care!"

I fire the last two shots left in my shotgun at her before putting it away behind my back, my hand re-emerging with my sword still inside of it's cheaply made shikomizue-inspired sheath, pulling it out from said sheath and stashing it behind my back before pointing it at her.

She narrows her eyes at me as I do the little thing with my sword, before walking forward, starting to close the distance between us as I do the same, breaking into a sprint at the last second before grabbing my sword with both hands and swinging it at her torso.

She blocks my swing with the blade of her scythe as we both fight for control of the situation, clashing with one another as I try to use all the strength I can muster (which isn't much to be honest) against her and the giant scythe in her hands.

I grit my teeth and narrow my eyes at her as we both try and get out of this stalemate with one another, I knew Hunters are strong and all and she definitely has to have some strength in her to be wielding a weapon like that so casually but damn did I ever underestimate how strong she actually is compared to me.

Eventually, though, I come up with an idea, pulling my sword away from the over-sized farming tool in her hands and breaking out of the stalemate we had going on for a bit, causing her to stumble forward, I follow up by jumping up and throwing both of my legs at her chest in a half-assed dropkick attempt, which apparently did just the trick, sending her backpedaling a few feet backwards.

Not wanting to give her a chance to retaliate, I rush to get back onto my feet before thrusting the blade of my sword at her chest, which although her Aura took basically all the damage of the hit, I refuse to stop there, swinging wildly at her chest in a mindless flurry of slashes, trying to whittle her down slowly yet surely.

I only manage to get a few hits in on her before she recovers from the earlier dropkick and starts to block every following hit I try and land on her with her damn scythe.

"GaaaAH! Fuck this, sword fighting's annoying!"

I back away from her and put my sword back in it's sheath and then behind my back, reaching into my pockets and pulling out two Burn Dust crystals, lifting them up, one in each hand, before jamming them into my legs, wincing and closing one eye from the pain of the injection.

This, at the very least, manages to confuse her as she stares at me in shock, eyes widened affixed directly on the sight of the Dust crystals I stabbed into my legs.

Hooded Girl: "What are you doing?!"

"A gambit."

I spit out at her as I feel my legs being strengthened through injecting the Dust crystals into them, embers and tiny flames now being ejected from my legs and onto the floor, like miniature solar flares, as I toss the spent crystals aside, and although fire is currently being spat out of my legs and falling to the ground, it doesn't seem to cause me any real harm besides feeling intense warmth.

"Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna end up beating you, it's only a matter of time till I slip up and end up in a shallow grave, sooooo, later!"

Hooded Girl: "W-Wait!"

Using my new strengthened legs, I turn around and start running like hell away from her, jumping onto one shipping crate to the next as I head towards the Bullheads, trying to check in on Roman and the other White Fang members, to see how they're faring against Sun and Blake.

Unfortunately, Sun was right, they are having as hard of a time fighting the two of them as I had fighting just him, the unconscious bodies of multiple White Fang members dot the ground, surrounded by their weapons, most of them either jammed or broken from the fight that went on, all but one of the Bullheads that we brought here to move the containers are totaled, damaged to the point of being unable to get into the air, or probably even start, seemingly torn to shreds by what looks like a bunch of swords from the holes in the metal.

The only person left still fighting the two Hunters is Roman himself, doing a pretty damn good job holding them off with that cane of his, but he seems to be fighting a losing battle, they're getting more hits in on him than he is on them, if this keeps going on then eventually his Aura is gonna break and he'll be fucked.

Guess I have to help him.

With a bit of preparation, I lunge forward off of the container I'm on top of and between the three of them, raising my fists in an orthodox boxing stance.

Roman: "Dizzy! What the hell are you-"

"Boss, get the hell out of here! I'll hold them off for you!"

After I finish speaking, he stays quiet for a moment before taking the opportunity I gave him and running onto the last remaining Bullhead, retracting the ramp and closing the door before lifting it up into the air, probably going back to the warehouse, or maybe a different hideout, I don't know and don't care, as long as he gets out of here.

Turning my attention back to the Hunters in front of me, I take note that Sun has changed his staff into its other form, which is apparently a pair of nunchucks made of two lever-action guns, fucking gunchucks, also the ginger the hood-wearing girl came here with is here too, smiling at me with a bunch of swords floating behind her, what the hell, that's cool, why can't I have that?

Sun: "Well, well, look who's decided to join the party."

I just scowl at the three as I look back and forth between them all, keeping my fist raised and taking a few steps back as I wait for someone to make the first move, feeling a few beads of sweat trailing down my face and nearly getting into my eyes.

Sun: "You might as well give up now. You're outnumbered, and we've got the advantage."

The ginger girl just waves at me once he finishes talking, for some reason, I raise an eyebrow at her before waving back, at least she's being polite before she shanks me.

"If I'm going out, I'm going out swinging."

Once done talking, I use what little of the enhanced strength my legs have from the Aura crystals I shoved into them (I wasted a lot of it by running away) to dash towards Blake, reeling my right fist back and throwing it at her face, which she manages to essentially just side-step away from.

I let out a small huff of annoyance before noticing one of Sun's gunchucks heading towards me, flaring my Aura up to protect me from the hit as it slams into my side, causing me to let out a pained groan.

Before I can return his hit with one of my own, Blake follows up with multiple slashes from the blade of her weapon, all of which seemingly aimed for whatever part of me is the most exposed, I back away from her as she approaches me while swinging, just barely dodging the hits she throws at me before she closes the distance between us a bit too much and starts to land blow after blow on me, wincing in pain as my Aura protects me from the shallow cuts hitting my chest, managing to back away from her again after a few hits.

"Oumdamn it, why did I choose to do a three-v-one? At least the ginger over there isn't fighting."

Ginger Girl: "Ruby specifically asked me to not cause you any harm!"

The hooded girl's name is Ruby? Good to know I guess.

"Ohh, she wants to get the hits in on me by herself, I presume? Prick."

I turn my attention back to Blake after I finish talking, going on the offensive and getting up close and personal with her, throwing various hooks and jabs aimed at her torso and face, basically all of which she managed to just move away from or duck under.

FUCK, is this annoying and very much not working, I need to try something else.

Blake: "You won't get the chance."

"Oh shut up, time for plan B."

I drop my stance and back up a bit, once I've got some distance between the two of us, I charge forward and start rushing towards Blake, but instead of throwing any hits, I run right past her, Sun, the oddly polite ginger girl, running as fast as I can away from them, from the docks in general, not stopping for a second.

"AAAAAAH!"

As I'm running away from them like my life depends on it (which it probably does), I manage to overhear a short conversation between Blake and Sun.

Blake: "Let him go."

Sun: "But-"

Blake: "Let. Him. Go."

I ignore the rest of their conversation and just keep on running and running, not stopping until I end up behind one of the warehouses on the far end of the docks meant to store the containers we were supposed to steal, placing my hands on my knees and leaning forward as I try and catch my breath after that whole thing.

After a short while of recovering, I remove my hands from my knees and stand upright again, staring up at the sky above me, my eyes locking onto the cracked moon taking center-stage amongst the various stars surrounding it, filling up the night sky.

"Surprised those three didn't just jump me all at once and beat me to a paste, thank Oum I was able to distance myself from them."

Well, that was a bust, didn't even get a single container out of that, but that isn't much of an issue, I'm just happy I came out of that with all my limbs attached to my body, I'll probably end up getting another job like this in a few months anyways so who care's-WHAT THE HELL?!

*THONK*

I manage to flare my Aura up just in time to take the damage caused from whatever it was that just hit my head, unfortunately that seemed to be all that my Aura can take for the day, as when I fall to the floor from the force of the hit, I notice dozens of glowing, sickly green particles seemingly leaving my body, I only have enough energy left in me after all of that running and fighting to look up and see what it is that hit me.

It was a baseball bat, being held by someone who I can't currently identify, the thing looks pristine, like they just bought it or this is the first time they've ever used it, to hit me over the head.

"...What?"

They take a few steps closer to m-
