Today was the trial for Pettigrew. No one in the house was looking forward to what they were about to sit through. It was going to be hard on all of them. Thalia knew Tom and Malachi would be there since Dumbledore was out. Lucius was bringing Narcissa and Draco as well. Hopefully they would get their answers today.
Walking into the dining room, she looked at the three wizards staring at their plates. Sitting, she thanked Tilly for her breakfast. "You three need to eat" she told them quietly.
Almost like they'd been spelled, they all began to eat. When everyone was finished, they headed towards the floo.

Madam Bones watched as everyone entered the courtroom. The Wizengamot members and their guests took their seats first. The Malfoys were speaking with Lord Slytherin, who was a new member. She was surprised to see Lady Malfoy but realized she must be here for Sirius.
Speaking of, she watched as Lady Potter and Heir Potter were escorted to seats next to Lord Malfoy by Lord Black and Remus Lupin. Those four would be hit hard by today's proceedings. Madam Bones had to hide her surprise when Heir Slytherin took Lady Potter in his arms.
Noticing how full the courtroom was, she ordered for the doors to be sealed. They needed everyone settled and there was a lot of people here. Even the press seats were full, the observer section was shoulder to shoulder. Looking to the new Chief Warlock, she nodded for him to begin.

Lord Greengrass banged the gavel, silencing the courtroom. "Bring in the prisoner." Aurors dragged in Peter Pettigrew, placing him in the chair. The chains attached to the chair rattled before wrapping around his arms, legs and chest.
"Prisoner Pettigrew, your charges were explained to you, how do you plead?" the Chief Warlock asked.
Pettigrew looked around the room, flinching when he seen his old 'friends' and who they were seated next to. Looking back to the Chief Warlock, "Not guilty."
"Madam Bones, administer the veritiserum."
She walked forward as two aurors held Pettigrew's head back and opened his mouth. She gave him the full vial. They knew it was a lot, but no one wanted him to get away with anything.
"What is your name?"
"Peter Pettigrew"
"Were you the Potters secret keeper"
"yes"
"Did you betray them to Voldemort"
"yes"
"Did you frame Sirius Black"
"yes"
"Why did you betray the Potters"
"I was promised money and power"
"Why did you frame Sirius Black"
"it was part of the plan"
"What plan are you speaking of?"
"Harry Potter defeating the Dark Lord"
"What plan was this?"
"Dumbledore planned for me to hand the Potters over to Voldemort"
"Silence" Lord Greengrass yelled, looking to Peter, "Why did Dumbledore want you to hand over the Potters?"
"he said he needed to get rid of Voldemort and made up a prophecy to point him to the Potters son. He planned to Imperious Voldemort once I gave him the secret"
Sirius had to be held down, Malachi had Thalia in a tight grip so she wouldn't kill the rat in front of witnesses. He noticed his father wasn't much better.
"What did Dumbledore Imperious Voldemort to do?"
"once I gave the secret, Dumbledore made Voldemort enter the home and kill James. He then made him kill Lily but something went wrong when he tried to make Voldemort kill Harry"
Lord Greengrass had to swallow the bile that was coming up, "What went wrong?"
"the spell reflected from the boy back on Voldemort and he was gone. Dumbledore checked the boy and realized he could use him to further his plans"
"How did he plan to use Harry Potter?"
"Dumbledore left him with magic hating muggles after sealing the wills of James and Lily. I was to get Sirius out of the picture"
The Minister leaned over and whispered something to Lord Greengrass. "Have you been in contact with Dumbledore since that night?"
"yes. He told me to go to the Weasley family and hide as their pet. It was easy to slip away and meet with him"
"Why did he tell you to go to the Weasley family?"
"They had children and wouldn't pay attention to if I had an abnormally long life for a rat"
"Did you know James Potter had a daughter?"
"yes. I took the letter that Colleen sent to Dumbledore, and I kept taking them when they would arrive"
The whole room was silent. This man was a monster who helped a bigger monster kill his friends and try to kill their son.
"What was Dumbledore's plan for Harry Potter?"
"he wanted the boy to be raised in a home that showed him no love. Dumbledore wanted Harry to be willing to sacrifice himself to help end Voldemort"
Lord Greengrass needed to take a moment and could see others did too. Motioning to Madam Bones, he told the courtroom, "We will take a thirty-minute recess and return for judgement. Take the prisoner back to holding." Banging the gavel, he stood and walked out with the Minister and Madam Bones.

Thalia rushed from the courtroom to find a bathroom. She was going to be sick. As soon as her knees hit the floor, she threw up. Someone pulled her hair back as she got sick again. That bastard was going to kill her little brother. She was mad but she was also heartbroken. If Dumbledore would have just left things alone, she and Harry would have known each other and been in each others lives.
Once she was finished, she sat back and looked up at Narcissa, "Thanks" she rasped.
Narcissa rubbed a hand over her hair, "It's understandable. I felt sick listening to that. I can't imagine how you and Harry feel."
Thalia pulled herself up and moved towards the sink. She rinsed her mouth and then did a breath freshening charm before rinsing again. It took forever but she finally got the taste out of her mouth.
"I need to check on my brother" she said once she was rid of vomit mouth.
Narcissa nodded and led her back to the courtroom.

Their group was watching the women with worried looks. Once they were seated, Thalia gathered her brother in her arms.
"Are you okay?" Harry asked. He had been worried when she ran out.
Nodding, she replies "Just hard to hear what that bastard had planned for you."
Sirius and Remus gathered them into a hug. They sat like that until the room started to fill back up. Thalia looked to Tom and Malachi. She knew this had to be hard on them too. Malachi caught her eye and scooted closer.
"Are you okay?" He asked, taking her free hand. She nodded and squeezed his hand. No more was said because court was back.

Lord Greengrass looked over the audience, press and members of the Wizengamot. "Ladies and gentlemen. Normally we would vote on a person innocence or guilt but I believe every person in this room will agree with me on this. Peter Pettigrew is guilty and doesn't deserve any more time in front of an audience. Therefore, the Minister, Madam Bones and myself have decided Peter Pettigrew shall receive the Dementors kiss and live out the rest of his days in a cell. Once his body dies, he will be buried in a unmarked paupers grave. Are there any objections?"
The silence in the room was deafening. Never in history had all of the Wizengamot members, audience and press agreed on something.
Lord Greengrass then added, "An arrest warrant for Albus Dumbledore has been issued and all of his positions have been removed, including Hogwarts Headmaster. He will face trial for his charges."
The audience cheered at that.
"Court is dismissed" He banged the gavel and watched as the people began to leave. Standing, he and the Minister met Madam Bones and all three approached the Potters and company.
"Lady Potter, Lord Black, we wanted to give your family the option to view Pettigrew's sentence being conducted." Minister Fudge told them.
Sirius and Remus knew they would be there and asked Lucius, Tom and Malachi if they would join. Thalia declined as did Harry. They told the others they would wait for them at home with Narcissa and Draco.
Giving her thanks, Thalia led the way out and to the floo.

Tilly was doting on her family. She knew today was hard for them. Harry and Draco had decided to go out and fly. Harry didn't want to talk about the trial yet but he made sure his sister was okay before going.
Thalia and Narcissa were enjoying the tea and biscuits Tilly had brought them. The two women were decompressing and waiting for the rest to arrive.
"Malachi seems to be sweet on you" Narcissa said behind her teacup.
Thalia gave the older witch a small smile. "He asked me if I had ever thought of courting or marrying."
Narcissa laughed, "He's worse than I thought." Smiling, she said "I've known that boy since he was a baby. He was always a quiet boy but he loved his family. His mother raised him to be a good man and before Tom disappeared, Malachi could always be found with him. Melinda made sure her son would grow into a good man."
Thalia thought that over. "I've never put thought into marriage. Getting Harry was always my priority, that and revenge. After everything we've found out, my revenge looks to be on the horizon. Maybe I should talk with Harry, Remus and Sirius and see what they think. Not to mention my grandfather."
"I think you two would be an amazing couple. He already knows your brother is your priority, he's met the family and can handle them." They both laugh at that. "You're both young, beautiful and powerful. I think you could easily turn it into love."
"I think so too" Thalia replied with a smile. "Looks like I need to speak with the others, and my grandfather. That should be fun."
"I'm surprised your grandfather hasn't shown up yet"
"I'm sure he will when I tell him what happened. Hell, he may ask to help the aurors hunt Dumbledore."

When the men came through the floo, they could hear the women laughing. After what they had witnessed, they could use some laughter. Entering the living room, Narcissa was the first to notice them. Standing, she walked over to her husband.
Thalia stood and looked to her uncles, Tom and Malachi. "Is it done?"
Tom nodded, "Yes, he was taken to Azkaban shortly after."
"Good" Thalia said. Walking up to Sirius and Remus, she hugged them. "Are you both okay?"
Both men nodded. Sirius cleared his throat, "I'm going to call it an early night" Remus nodded and followed him out after saying goodbye to everyone.
The rest chatted for a bit before also heading out. Today had been emotionally stressful and they just wanted it over.

Thalia had been right about her grandfather. When she told him of what had happened at the trial, he was in the country within hours. She thought that maybe it would be a good time to bring up the conversation she needed her family's input on. Since her grandfather was staying with them, she gathered everyone after lunch.
"I've been thinking of something, and I would like your input on it." She said once everyone was seated.
Harry thought he had an idea of what she was talking about, so he asked, "Does this have to do with a certain Heir Slytherin?"
The others were immediately suspicious. Her grandfather hadn't met Malachi yet, so he was doubly so.
Shooting her brother a look, she nods. "Malachi has expressed his interest in me. He knows what my priorities are and doesn't have issue with them."
"You really want Voldemort as an in law?" Sirius whined.
"Pads, she's a smart girl. If she's asking us, then I'm going to say she's made her decision. She's asking our opinion." Remus told him.
"I would like to meet this young man before I give judgement. I trust yours but I have to make sure he's worthy of you." Perceval told his granddaughter.
"I can arrange for everyone to come over for dinner, that way you can meet them."
He nodded, "That would be good."
Thalia looked to Harry, "Would you be okay with Tom coming?"
"Yeah. He was as much a victim of Dumbledore's plan as the rest of us."
With that, Thalia headed off to send the invites for dinner. Knowing the full moon was approaching, she needed to start another batch of Wolfsbane for Remus. He had appreciated the first so much, she knew he would never ask though. It seemed she had her plate full but she wouldn't have it any other way.
