At school the next week, things were different, people looked at me like I had done something. What I did that cause them to look at me like that was to be determined because they didn't look star-struck, but they didn't look judgmental, it was almost like they were calculating me. Stacie was one of those people, it was like she was looking for something when she looked at me, and that concerned me. Did everyone know, was I not passing, I had to be, right?

But no one said anything, there weren't any whispers or pointing, it was just looks. So I shrugged it off.

Tom kept his side of the bargain up for a total of two days before he couldn't resist targeting me again. I already knew he would so it wasn't a shock.

Currently, I was sat in Chemistry, and we were just learning about some products and reactants-which I could care less about. So to ease my boredom, I turned to Stacie who was taking notes. "Interested?" I asked as she continued to scribble some words down, "huh? Oh! Yeah, I guess you could say that." Stacie replied as she looked at me, she was wearing reading glasses and I couldn't help but notice how pretty she looked.

"You wear glasses?" I asked though the answer was pretty obvious, "just when I read, don't wanna strain my eyes." she shrugged, "you're pretty with glasses." I said before I could stop myself, she smiled a little, "just with glasses?" she raised a brow, "all the time really." I said back. She turned back to finish her notes but I'm pretty sure I noticed her cheeks tinge with a pink color.

At the end of class, I walked Stacie to her locker as we talked about random things. She was putting her books up as I leaned on a few lockers next to hers, looking at the opposite wall. There was a poster for homecoming, it said it was in two weeks and tickets were $10 each or $15 for a couple pack. This was it, this was my chance.

"Hey Stace?" I tapped her shoulder, "yeah?" she looked up at me, "do you, would you, are you...uh, are you going to lunch?" I bombed it, "um yeah, like every day..." she blinked, "yeah, no I know, I was just asking because, because...I was...gonna ask what you recommend I get for lunch?" I tried to cover, but it was really backfiring. Stacie on the other hand either didn't sense my weirdness or ignored it and kept walking, "I personally like the pizza or the salad." she said as we walked into the cafeteria.

I went with the pizza and sat down at the table with the girls, I was sitting next to Chloe, so I turned to whisper something to her. "How do I ask Stace to the homecoming?" I asked, Chloe smiled a face-splitting grin at me and answered with, "come with me." before she pulled me up and went to walk before stopping, "we'll be back." she announced to our friends. Stacie sent a puzzled look my way and I returned it with a shrug before following Chloe.

We walked all the way to the parking lot before Chloe squealed in excitement, "OMG! This is going to be so cute!" she said, "ok ok, just help me will ya?" I rolled my eyes. "Of course. It's pretty simple what you have to do, first determine whether you want to do it in privacy or in public, because if you get rejected it's going to sting if people witness it. Then you ask, simple as that." Chloe told me. Which to be fair, yeah it's pretty simple, but, "I want it to be special." I said, Chloe's smile brighten, if that's even possible, and she took my hands in hers.

"Beck, no matter how you ask, Stace will think it's perfect. But if you really want it to be something, do something that will show her how much she means to you." Chloe said reassuringly, "you're right. How does she feel about music?"

"I don't know if I can do this Chlo." I said as I walked up to Chloe, I was a nervous wreck. "Snap out of it man! You got this, just go out there, and sing your heart out!" Chloe beamed, easier said then done.

"But, it's the courtyard, literally everyone is out there. What if Stacie rejects me? What if I puke? My stomach hurts a little..." I clutched my stomach as I took deep breaths, "that's just nerves, you'll be fine! And if all else fails, just look at Stacie, she's the only one you need to care about right now." Chloe said to me as she pointed out the window.

On the other side of the glass was the courtyard full of green tables with students sitting at almost every one, but at a particular table sat Stacie and Aubrey, they were talking and Stacie was laughing about something, she looked so angelic as the sun beamed of her.

"You're right." I said, taking one last breath, "aren't I always?" Chloe winked at me before exiting through the door that lead to the courtyard, she sat at the girls' table and whispered something to Stacie before the brunette turned in her seat, facing the door. That was my cue.

I walked out the door, strumming my guitar to the opening lines of, Perfect, by Ed Sheeran.

I Found a love for me

Darling, just dive right in and follow my lead

Well, I found a girl beautiful and sweet

Oh I never knew you were that someone waiting for me.

I sang directly to Stacie, even as other people started to clap.

Cause we were just kids when we fell in love

Not knowing what it was

I will not give up this time

Darling, just kiss me slow your heart is all I own

And in your eyes you're holding mine.

Stacie held eye contact with me, smiling softly as I continued

Baby, I'm dancing in the dark, with you between my arms

Barefoot on the grass

Listening to our favorite song

When you said you looked a mess

I whispered underneath my breath

But you heard it

Darling, you look perfect tonight.

I walked closer to the table before I was face-to-face with Stacie

We are still kids but we're so in love

Fighting against all odds

I know we'll be alright this time

Darling, just hold me hand

Be my girl, I'll be your man

I see my future in your eyes.

Baby, I'm dancing in the dark

With you between my arms

Barefoot on the grass

Listening to our favorite song

I have faith in what I see

Now I know I have met an angel in person

And she looks perfect.

I don't deserve this

You look perfect tonight.

I finished the song with one last strum of my chords, before a slung the instrument over my shoulder and took Stacie's hands, pulling her up.

"Stacie Conrad, ever since I moved to this city and have known you, you have intrigued me. It took a knock on my head to realize that, courtesy of Chloe," I smiled at the redhead before turning back to Stacie.

"And now that I've gotten to know you, I'd hate for any other guy to be yours, so will you go to Homecoming with me?" I waited with bated breath as she considered my offer.

"And if I said yes, what would that entail?" she raised a perfect brow, "dinner beforehand with our friends and a ride in my dads jeep?" I said with a sheepish smile, "ok. Pick me up at 6." she kissed me on the cheek and turned to sit back down, leaving me breathless as the courtyard erupted into cheers.

The smile on my face last all the way until practice.

"Dude! Did you just bag a Conrad sister!?" Jordy asked as I left the locker room with my duffel bag, "yeah, I think I did..." I said, still surprised myself, "dude is legendary." Kyle high fived me.

We had a team meeting today, so after practice and we changed, we headed back to the gym and sat on the bleachers, waiting for the meeting to start.

"Alright boys! I know there is a lot of excitement with 'Hoco' coming up soon. But know this, we have a game next week! And if we lose, none of you will be adorning your dates at this dance. You'll be running 15 miles on the track and cleaning up after the dance." Coach Smith told us as he slowly paced in front of us.

"He's bluffing, says it every year." Jordy whispered to me, "what was that Ranz?" Coach asked as he stopped in front of Jordy, "n-nothing sir." Jordy looked down, "really? Cause it sounded like you just called me a liar!? We'll see who's lying if y'all lose. And if you win, I expect you all to stay here after the game for a weight-lifting session, thanks to Mr. Jordan Ranz over here." Coach continued walking.

The boys all looked at Jordy with angry expressions and I just shook my head.

I got home at around 8 and finally check my phone for notifications. There was the typical stuff, follow requests, DMs from random girls, my Spotify account talking about some artists, I deleted them as I went until I noticed a message from someone.

Stace(6:32 pm): So you can play the guitar AND sing!? Surprise surprise

Beck(8:17 pm): What can I say? I'm full of em

Stace(8:19 pm): You really wanna go with me? This is your chance to back out, no hard feels :)

Beck(8:20 pm): Funny, I was just about to say the same thing

Stace(8:21 pm): Well I'm game if you're game

Beck(8:21 pm): Always

Beck(8:23 pm): Also, fair warning, coach said if we lose our first game I can't go to hoco

Stace(8:24 pm): Guess you'd better win! Wouldn't wanna keep a pretty woman waiting

Beck(8:25 pm): Never that

Stace(8:25 pm): Night Beck

Beck(8:26 pm): Sweet dreams

Stace(2:27 pm): They're always sweet when I think of you ;)

I put my phone down and smiled to myself, Stacie Conrad, my date to homecoming.

A/N: Every time I get motivation to write it only lasts for like a chapter. Anyways! Beck finally sacked up and asked Stacie out, what could go wrong...?
