well here we are with chapter 2, now just to let you all know this story is going to lack a bit of horror so i need help to improve it.
Chapter 2:
"What do you mean, captain?" Bill asks. "The computer woke us up because it picked up a distress signal from a shuttle. Cousin identified the shuttle as the Narcissus II." Nyn answered, "A shuttle, out here?" Andrea asked, feeling a bit surprised by this. Nyn just nodded his head; the whole crew was surprised by this. "Why would the computer wake us up for something like a shuttle?" Josh said, "Well, maybe because it needs our help?" Bill suggested. "Maybe, but according to cousin, this type of shuttle is a modified Lockmart Starcub Light (LSL) intrasystem shuttlecraft." Nyn said, and Percy then stepped in. "According to the industrial logs, this type of shuttle was manufactured by Lockheed Martin Corporation, a company that supports Weyland-Yutani," Percy explains. Andrea spoke out. "Wait, weyland-yutani? The last time I heard, NASA broke ties with that company a long time ago, so why would a shuttle like that be calling us for help, and how did it get way out here in the middle of nowhere?" Andrea said this as everyone started recalling the name of that company, Weyland-Yutani. "Maybe because they're stranded," Bill suggests. Nyn then turns to Bill. "Bill, I want you to check the location of the shuttle while Josh and Andrea prepare one of your cabins for our guest," Nyn tells the crew. "I'll get Percy, Indra, and myself prepped for EVA," Nyn finished before leaving the flight room. "Okay, captain," Bill says as he watches Nyn walk out of the flight room.
About 10 minutes later.
Bill sits down while checking the navigational computers and presses a few buttons. A screen shows a map of the star system. Bill points to a spot on the map. "That's where the shuttle is located," he says. "I say a very long distance away from us; hopefully, with enough speed, we might be able to pick it up without crashing into the darn thing," Bill explains.
Andrea and Josh arrive at the cabin hall, where all the crew's cabins are lined up, one or two of which happen to be one of theirs. R-01 was Nyn's cabin, R-02 was James cabin, R-03 was Percy's cabin, R-04 was Paul's cabin, R-05 was Bill's cabin, R-06 was Andrea's cabin, R-07 was Indra's cabin, and finally R-08 was Josh's cabin. They began to play rock, paper, scissors; the winner keeps their cabin, and the loser is forced to share the cabin with the guest. But it turns out that Andrea won, so she gets to keep her cabin. Then Josh and Andrea both return to the flight room.
The Niridesis finally arrives at the exact spot where the Narcissus II shuttle was located, but something seems off about the shuttle; it was floating in space and not moving straight. "I don't like the looks of that," Bill says. "Let's take a closer look."
The Niridesis slowly approaches the shuttle, and as they get closer, they notice that on the outside, the shuttle doesn't appear to be damaged. "Hey Percy, could this shuttle fit in our small landing strip?" Nyn asked as Percy nodded his head. "Affirmative. After all, this shuttle is measured to be 21.3 meters long, 16.2 meters wide, and 7 meters high," Percy explained. "Percy, prepare the landing strip," Nyn orders. "Yes, sir, captain," Percy replies.
"This is going to be a piece of cake. Indra and Paul meet me on deck G at the landing strip bay; we'll suit up and go EVA. In the meantime, Bill, you, and Percy make sure to get the robotic docking probes ready to bring the shuttle in." Nyn said as the bill nodded his head, "You got it, captain, but I would have to make the alignment just right for us to take the shuttle in." Bill explained as he watched Nyn leave.
Nyn enters the deck-G to find Indra and Paul waiting for him. He notices that Indra is wearing a full spacesuit and carrying a toolbox. "You've already suited up?" he asks, surprised. "Yes, sir," Indra replies. "I figured it would save time if we were ready to go." Nyn nods his head. "Okay then, let's get started," Nyn said as he began suiting up.
Meanwhile, outside the Niridesis 01, the entrance to the landing strip slowly opens.
30 minutes later, Nyn, Indra, and Paul were all in their spacesuits, their helmets were on, and they were ready to go out into the airlock. Nyn takes a deep breath, trying to stay calm, and steps forward, pushing open the outer door. The airlock depressurizes, and the three of them step outside and walk into the landing on the hull of the ship. Nyn looks around at the vast expanse of space surrounding them. He can see stars twinkling in the distance, and the faint glow of the sun in Zeta II illuminates the scene from a distance. "This is incredible," Indra whispers to herself. "We're really out here," Indra continued. Nyn was kind of surprised that Indra had never gone spacewalking before, which was rather concerning for him. "Indra, did you ever go spacewalking before? Nyn asked, "No, this is my first time," Indra said with a bit of nervousness in her voice. "I'm sorry." Nyn apologizes. "I didn't know." Indra shakes her head. "It's okay, I'm just glad and excited to finally do it for real; I've been training for years for this," Indra reassures Nyn as they continue walking towards the shuttle.
When they see the shuttle outside, Nyn sees that it is indeed the Narcissus II. "Okay, team, remember that we need to attach a cable to ourselves and to the ship. I won't risk losing a crew member on a spacewalk." Nyn said as he reached for the cable from a nearby winch in the wall and attached the cable to himself, "I got it!" Nyn calls out.
Inside the Niridesis, Bill and Percy watch the monitors showing the view outside the ship. "Alright," Bill says, "activate the docking probes." Percy activates the probes, and they float autonomously, traveling outward from the ship and towards the shuttle. "Good work," Bill says, "now let's get that shuttle inside." Bill finished speaking.
Outside the Niridesis 01, Nyn, Indra, and Paul all heard Bill through communications as they moved towards the shuttle. "Copy that bill," Indra said as they made their approach. Until, finally, they've successfully made it to Narcissus II. "Okay, good work, everyone," Nyn says. "Now let's begin getting this shuttle inside the Niridesis," Nyn commanded as Indra nodded her head.
Back on the Niridesis, Bill and Percy watch the monitors as the crew helps the docking probes pull the shuttle inside the landing strip bay. "That was smooth," Bill says. "Yeah," Percy agrees, "I'm impressed."
Once the shuttle was safely inside the Niridesis, the entrance to the landing strip closed up, and Nyn, Indra, and Paul needed a way to get inside the shuttle. "Okay, we'll need to cut our way in," Nyn says. "I'll handle that," Paul says, taking a cutting torch from the toolbox and walking over to the back of the shuttle, where a single door is located. "Be careful," Nyn warns. "I will," Paul assures him. Paul starts cutting the door at the edge with the cutting torch. After a minute or two of cutting, Paul finishes cutting the door, and the door falls to the ground, exposing the inside of the shuttle.
