Chapter 14
Tommy sighed as he slumped in his chair, letting his head fall on the desk as the last student left the room.
"Long day?" A voice asked, making him look up to see Elsa leaning against the door frame.
"You have no idea." He mumbled, sitting back in the chair. "Am I a bad teacher?"
"Now why would you ask that?" She asked as she walked into the classroom. "All of the students love you."
"Then why do they not listen to a word I say?" He asked, making her laugh. "I swear I could morph in front of them and none of them would notice."
"They're teenagers." She replied with a shrug. "Maybe your next field trip will inspire them."
"Maybe. I thought about getting Kira to write some science songs. They all love her music." He laughed, looking at his watch. "And speaking of Kira, I'd better get home and make sure she's alright."
"Give her my best." Elsa said as she began to walk out of the door. "Oh, and don't forget to put the final risk assessment for your field trip on my desk by Friday." He laughed and grabbed his bag, packing up his marking to do at home.
He drove back quickly and parked up, smiling as he saw Kira's car in front of the house. The smile never left his face until he walked into the house, frowning as he registered the silence in the house.
"Kira?" He called out, his frown deepening when he didn't get a reply. He looked around the house, seeing the living room and bedroom empty before he noticed that the door to the lab was still open. He walked down the stairs and looked around, seeing the room empty and the computer still on, the three eggs still sat on the podium in the middle of the room. A glance into her studio showed it empty too, making him begin to worry. He pulled his phone out and dialled hers as he walked up the stairs, only to freeze as he heard her ringtone coming from the kitchen. He followed the sound and saw Kira's phone laying on the counter, Kira no where to be found. He raised his wrist to his mouth, pressing the button that would let him talk to Kira.
"Kira? Are you there?" He asked, receiving no response. "Kira?" He tried again before picking his phone up again. He looked around as he dialled Conner's number, his frown deepening as he spotted the back door open.
"Hey Tommy. What's up?" Conner answered as Tommy walked towards the door, the sound of his car in the background.
"Have you heard from Kira today?" He asked.
"Not today. Why?" He asked.
"I've come home and she's not here." He said, walking out of the door and looking around the garden. "Her car's in front of the house, the computer in the lab is on and her phone's in the kitchen."
"Did you try her communicator?" Conner asked.
"No response." He replied, bending down next to the house. "There's a rock next to the house." He said, looking up and spotting something. "It looks like someone threw it at the house."
"Maybe it was the Raptors?" Conner suggested, making Tommy look around again.
"It's too big for them to handle." He said. "I'm worried. Something's not right about this."
"I'm on my way over." Conner said as Tommy made his way back inside. "Does Hayley still have the cameras set up? Maybe they caught something."
"Maybe." He muttered as he grabbed Kira's phone and made his way down the stairs. "I'll have a look. See you in a minute." He sat at the computer and frowned at what he saw. It looked like Kira was still searching for ways to help Zeltrax before she vanished. He pulled up the camera footage and simultaneously began scanning the area for a signal from Kira's Dino Gem.
"Anything?" Conner asked as he hurried down the stairs, still in his kit from training.
"I can't find a signal from her Gem." Tommy said as he frowned at the screen. "I'm just checking the cameras."
"Are we sure she didn't just go for a walk and forget her phone?" Conner asked as he stood next to Tommy.
"Here." Tommy said, stopping the cameras and expanding the footage from the back garden. They watched as a rock flew into the frame and hit the side of the house. "Who threw it?" Tommy muttered as they saw the door open and Kira walk out, looking around in confusion. They saw her walk over and crouch down next to the rock before their eyes widened as Tyrannodrones came into the frame. They watched one knock Kira over before she noticed they were there and grab her tightly before she could react before Zeltrax walked into the frame. They watch Kira struggle to get free as words were exchanged, before an Invisiportal opened and they took Kira.
"Not good." Conner muttered, glancing at Tommy to see his expression a mix of shocked and angry. "What time was that?"
"12." He said, curling his hands into fists. "We've passed the 2 hour mark."
"I'm going to call the others." Conner said as he pulled his phone out before pausing and putting a hand on Tommy's shoulder. "We'll get her back Tommy."
"I don't care if Kira thinks we can help Zeltrax." He said, making Conner frown. "If he hurts her in any way, I'll kill him myself."

Kira sighed as she paced the dark cell Zeltrax had thrown her in. She recognised it from when she was kidnapped by Kim when she was evil. She was cursing herself for leaving her phone on the kitchen counter, and now she not only had no idea what time it was and how long she'd been there, but she also couldn't contact any of her team. She had tried to use her communicator, but after getting no response, she figured that Zeltrax had found a way to block the signal.
"I told you they couldn't protect you forever." A voice hissed, making her look up and see Zeltrax walk into the area around her cell.
"What's the plan, Zeltrax?" She asked, crossing her arms as she watched him carefully. "You know how many times I've been kidnapped and managed to free myself."
"I've learnt from your past escapes." He snapped, pointing to the device that was connected to the door of the cell. "If this door opens before the sensor is deactivated, the explosives in the room will be detonated, and you will be no more." Kira frowned, looking around and spotting the various explosives around and in the cell.
"So why am I here?" She asked. "You clearly don't want my Gem, or you'd have taken it already."
"You are going to help me get revenge on Tommy Oliver." He snapped.
"And how am I going to do that?" She asked, leaning against the wall at the back of the cell.
"You left him once. He'll believe you did it again." He snapped, making her laugh.
"Oh please, Tommy isn't stupid." She said, and she knew that if he could, the cyborg would be frowning. "For starters, I left my phone in the kitchen. That alone would make him suspicious. Plus, there are cameras all over the house, including in the garden. He'll watch them and know that you took me."
"Then I will use you to draw him out." He snapped.
"You tried that before when you sent us to the past. It didn't work then and it won't work now." She replied, her voice sharp before she softened it. "This isn't you, Smitty. This is what Mesagog made you."
"Do not call me that." He snapped, slamming his sword into the bars of the cell.
"Killing Tommy won't get rid of the hate." She said, watching him carefully. "And what will you do then? Mesagog took away everything but hate, and he made you determined to kill Tommy. What happens after that?" She saw Zeltrax falter slightly, and knew she was starting to get to him. "Just let me help you."
"Oh, you will help me." He hissed, making her wince as he lent closer to the bars. "You will help me get my revenge." He stormed out and closed the door with a slam, making her jump. She sighed and slid down the wall until she was sat on the floor, shivering slightly as she realised how cold it was in the cell.
"Please Tommy, be safe." She whispered, letting a tear fall down her face.

"Tommy, if you don't stop pacing, I swear I will tie you to the Raptors and tell them to chase the Zords!" Hayley snapped, making Tommy freeze and run a hand through his hair.
"Sorry Hayley." He mumbled, ignoring the muffled laughter coming from Conner.
"We'll get her back, Tommy." Ethan said, still looking at the computer in front of him.
"Any way we can find a portal to take us to the Island?" Trent asked from where he sat on the sofa. "If that's where Zeltrax has been hiding, then I'm sure that's where he would take her."
"He knows we can access the Invisiportal network. He disabled it after he took Kira." Hayley said, making Tommy frown.
"So we have no way to get to the Island?" He asked, making Conner lean forward from where he sat next to Trent.
"Didn't you and Anton work on the Island before he became Mesagog?" He asked.
"Yes. But that was before it blew up." Tommy replied, making Ethan turn around as he realised what Conner was hinting at.
"So, do you think you'd be able to find your way there again?" Conner asked, making Tommy frown.
"I never knew it's exact location." He said, looking around and pulling a map out of the draw on the desk. "I think it was somewhere around here." He said, pointing to a spot on the map in the middle of the sea.
"Do you think Anton would be able to remember where it was?" Ethan asked, looking at Trent.
"It's worth asking him." Trent replied as he pulled his phone out.
"And then what?" Tommy asked. "We hire a boat? Zeltrax would see it coming from miles away."
"Or we fly." Conner said with a smirk, making Tommy frown. "I'm sure Kira won't mind if we borrow the PteraZord."
"Dad's on his way." Trent said as he put his phone down, making Tommy nod.
"What I don't get, is why Zeltrax wanted to kidnap Kira." Ethan said with a frown. "He's been interested in her for ages. He ran from that fight over a week ago because Kira wasn't there, and then he attacked the hospital when he was looking for her."
"No, it was before then." Conner said as he stood up. "Do you remember when we fought him at the dock? He sought Kira out during the fight. I didn't hear much, but I think she tried to talk him down."
"What could she say to make him intent on kidnapping her?" Trent asked as Tommy picked up the notebook Kira had been writing in.
"She was trying to help him." He said, making them look at him in shock. "During that fight on the dock, Kira said she asked Zeltrax what he was going to do if he won, and he froze. She thinks that she can reach Smitty and bring him back, at least mentally."
"Is that possible?" Ethan asked, making Tommy show him the notebook.
"Kira thought it might be." He said. An alarm sounded and they all looked at the screen, Hayley bringing up some camera footage.
"Zeltrax is at the school." She said with a frown, zooming in on the camera and making them all freeze at what they saw.
"He's got Kira." Tommy said, seeing the Yellow Ranger being held by two Tyrannodrones with her arms tied behind her back and some tape over her mouth, stopping her from being able to use her Ptera scream.
"Tommy." Conner said, making Tommy look at him. "Don't run in without thinking. We will do everything to get to Kira, but we need to be smart about it."
"You're the leader." Tommy sighed, making Conner nod.
"Then let's go."
