Chapter 5 - The New Pharaoh and His Destiny Begins
Atem was being crowned by the six priests who swore loyalty to him. The new king walked to his throne and sat down to address his people.
Bumblebee in his dire-wolf form, was sitting to the right of Atem to watch over him. The people who came to see the pharaoh thought he was a statue because he barely moved (except for him blinking and breathing), for when he's in this form and the hybrid form his jewelry was showing.
When the priests stopped an assassination attempt, 'Bee was about to kill the assassin but was told to stay with his pharaoh to not intervene. Therefore, as he watched the trial be performed without interruptions, 'Bee knew that this was only the beginning of Atem's destiny.
Just as the excitement was diminishing, the guards along the palace wall noticed an intruding racing towards them. The intruder rushes into the throne room, trailing behind him the sarcophagus of King Aknamkanon, the previous pharaoh and Atem's father.
Bumblebee stood up, to be beside his king, growling at the intruder while protecting Atem. "Atem, we all must be careful. This man is known as Ba-Ku-Ra, the Thief king, and he has an intense hatred towards the royal family." He warned him mentally.
Atem's glare intensifies, "What?! That's why he broke into my father's tomb, just to desiccate his body and to prevent him from having eternal rest!" he screamed at him.
'Bee sighed mentally, "I can think of a few things, but they can wait." He stretched out his claws to prepare to fight if need be.
Atem stood from his throne, "Ba-Ku-Ra, the thief king. Why have you robbed the coffin of my father, the previous pharaoh of Egypt!?"
The thief king laughed insanely, "Because your father ordered the destruction of my village, Kul Elna, to create those millennium items that you and your priests wear!" He sneered in disgust, making everyone flinch.
'How could he be a survivor of that village, I had ordered all the villagers to be seized for the ritual!' Aknaden furiously thought.
Bumblebee gazed at them with sadness, 'The Egyptian gods told me about them, unfortunately, they will not be able to seal for 5,000 years as they are needed. I can't tell them about the truth of the millennium items; for they will need to find out for themselves,' he thought sadly.
Ba-Ku-Ra snarled at them when none of them spoke as they were in shock, "I had enough of your insolence, I call forth my DiaBound*!" He shouted extending his arm into the air. [AN: If you want to know what he looks like and his abilities, look them up. I'm not describing him.]
"That's impossible, only one of the Pharaoh's priests or the pharaoh himself can summon shadow creatures!" shouted Priest Seto.
Ba-Ku-Ra laughed as he sneered at them," They can if they process the Diadi-Ahk from your former pharaoh!" He showed them the gauntlet as his monster appeared behind him.
"We will not allow you to harm the pharaoh! Illusion Magician, come forth!" Maha'ad proclaimed while raising his own Diadi-Ahk.
"Battle Ox, I summon you!" Seto shouted.
The rest of the priests surrounded the pharaoh to protect him, while Bumblebee stayed nearby growling as he warned Atem, "Atem if their monsters get destroyed then Diabound will gain their abilities and strength!"
"What?! How do we defeat it, if it can do that?!" Atem asked.
"It's time to summon the three Egyptian god monsters, my king. But need to know their names to call them forth. Your Ka [soul] knows that you're their chosen Pharaoh!" 'Bee shouted, while still ready to defend him.
Pharaoh Atem closed his eyes to pray, 'Oh mighty Egyptian Gods please heed my cry, to help me protect my people, my friends, my family, and bring me victory in this fight!' He cries out to him.
In response to his prayer, he felt a great power engulf him before setting within his very soul, as three voices answered him. "WE HEAR YOUR CALL, CHOSEN PHARAOH! WE WILL ONLY SERVE YOU! NOW KNOW OUR NAMES!"
"I AM SLIFER, THE SKY DRAGON!"
"I AM THE WINGED DRAGON OF RA! HOWEVER, YOU MUST CHANT MY SPELL TO RELEASE ME!"
"I AM OBELISK, THE TORMENTOR! NOW CALL ME FORTH!"
Atem felt their power, he opened his eyes with determination he moved forward with 'Bee at his side, despite his priests telling him not to. He stared at the thief king with his own Diadi-Ahk activated, "You seem to forget that I can summon as well! Now I call the Egyptian god, Obelisk, the tormentor!" He summoned with his arm in the air.
A huge beam of light came down behind him and they heard a thunderous roar as a large blue monster, similar in size to Exodia, appeared.
"Behold, one of the three Egyptian god monsters!"
Everyone in the throne room gaped in astonishment while 'Bee nodded to the god monster before facing forward again keeping an eye on DiaBound.
The thief king insanely laughed while ordering his monster to attack the god monster, hoping to absorb its power and strength for his own.
'OBELISK, Attack! Fist of Fury!" The pharaoh ordered while extending his fist.
Both monsters attacked each other but it was clear that Obelisk was the winner.
The thief king was in complete shock, for his monster had lost, however, it didn't last long as his face contorted into pure rage, "You may have won this time battle Pharaoh, but mark my words this is only the beginning of the war!' With that declaration, he cut the rope to the sarcophagus then turned his horse around and raced out of the palace into the desert.
The priests returned their monsters and ordered the guards to immediately secure the palace.
Pharaoh Atem turned towards Obelisk and bowed to the god, expressing his thanks, "Thank you mighty Obelisk, for your help was appreciated. You may return to the monster realm." He then straightened as he noticed everyone including 'Bee followed his actions in thanking the god
Obelisk nodded his head while speaking mentally to both Atem and Bumblebee, "You're welcome, for he is a threat to the kingdom and country. However, young pharaoh there is a greater threat on the horizon and you will have to choose to sacrifice yourself or your people to defeat this monster." He then looked at Bumblebee, "We were told of what and who you are, and soon you will be facing a challenge ahead," he warned them as he returned home.
AN: I'm not going into detail about what will happen next as it'll ruin the end of my story, so I'll just jump to the end of the war where we all know the pharaoh sealed the Shadow Realm. This will be similar to the timeline but with differences, as it'll mostly be used as a guideline to make my story stay on track. Bumblebee will stay with Yugi and Yami; Tea bashing
After Egypt gets destroyed / The Final Battle
All of the pharaoh's priests were down for the count, as they were unable to move or even stand. Atem and 'Bee were far away from them in the middle of the battlefield, both were very exhausted and had little energy left but they refused to back down to their enemy.
Bumblebee was in his hybrid form panting and crying softly as he watched his charge, who changed into a dear friend, about to do what he must to stop this monster. 'I will miss you, my friend, at least you will remember me but you won't know who you are. I'm glad I placed that stasis pod within your tomb, it'll protect and preserve your body for 5,000 years until you complete your destiny with your soulmate and defeat this monster forever.'
Atem was exhausted and his powers almost completely drained, 'I don't have the knowledge or the power to destroy this monster but the gods told me a way to stop this menace until it can be destroyed for good.' He thought while raising the millennium puzzle high, " Goodbye my friends."
"I, Pharaoh Atem Use All My Power To SEAL YOU and the Shadow Realm, Let My Name and Soul Be The price! Mighty Gods of Egypt Hear My Cry, LET IT BE WRITTEN!" For these will be the last words he'll speak for 5,000 years. The Egyptian Gods heard his prayer and granted it. The pharaoh's body glowed a brilliant shade of gold, and the millennium puzzle shone brightly as its eye burned bright.
Zork's body as well as every Duel monster was pulled back into the Shadow Realm through massive doors (a gate), and once every monster was collected the door shut, sealing the Shadow Realm for the next five millenniums.
Once the gate disappeared, the millennium puzzle pulled in the pharaoh's spirit, soul, and powers within itself then in a final burst of light, the puzzle is shattered, its pieces landing on the desert's sands. The pharaoh's eyes lost their shine to indicate life, his body falling backward his eyes closing forever. He would've fallen into the sands if Bumblebee hadn't caught him.
'Bee stared at his friend's body with sadness, "Sleep well my friend, see you in 5,000 years." He said softly before he took out a golden dase from his subspace. He transferred Atem's body to be held up by his tail as he collected all the pieces of the puzzle then sealed them within its holder and activated the cybertronian glyph to protect it and ensure that only a great game-loving archeologist retrieves it in the future.
When 'Bee was finished, gathered up the pharaoh's lifeless body into a bridal carry, to carry him while his tail carried the chest, then walked back to the remaining priests.
Seto, Isis, and Mana awakened after the sound of silence came, they could see the sky was no longer black, nor they could see their enemy anywhere. When they heard footsteps, they couldn't help but expect to see their pharaoh victorious only to see it was 'Bee. He was walking towards them with their pharaoh's lifeless body in his arms.
"No! Pharaoh!" Mana screamed running towards Bumblebee, with Isis and Seto.
"Asim! What happened?!" Seto demanded.
Bumblebee sighed exhausted from the battle as he explained what happened, "With no other choice he gathered the last of his power to call upon the gods to seal the Shadow Realm at the cost of his soul and name." He finished sadly.
Both Mana and Isis were crying over the loss of their friend and king. Priest Seto's gaze locked onto his KIng's body, his cousin, the last of his family in sorrow unable to tell him he's sorry.
Bumblebee continued speaking regaining their attention, "He may be gone at the moment but one day he will return to complete his destiny. Before he passed he appointed you, Seto as the next Pharaoh because you are his cousin and the next in line for the throne of Egypt," he concluded.
Seto snapped his head towards 'Bee "What?! ME! After I was forced to hurt and almost kill him! I may be related to him but I don't deserve the throne, I never wanted it!" He exclaimed.
'Bee calmly stared at him, "But that's why you are worthy Seto. Our pharaoh forgave you, for it isn't your fault and the fact that you never wanted the throne. as you are very loyal to cousin, Atem."
Mana and Isis looked at them before settling on Seto, "Seto, if Atem decreed this before he died then we must obey them." Isis concluded with Mana nodding in agreement.
"Yeah, we both will support you, Seto. I know you don't want to be king but do you think that our king made the wrong choice?" Mana asked.
Seto thought of what they all said while looking at his true king's body, "No, our king wasn't foolish. I will obey my pharaoh's final order and assume the throne. However, I will forever be loyal and under his command, for he is my true king." He bowed to his king's body. "What will we do now?" He asked them.
Bumblebee shifted his arms to regain a better hold on Atem, "Well the three of you will rebuild Egypt to its former glory. All three of you can continue using your millennium items for now but at the end of your reign as pharaoh, they must be placed into their original vessel or placed with trusted people who'll keep vigil over Atem's tomb, until his return. I will take our pharaoh's body to his tomb and get it prepared for burial. Afterward, I will seal the tomb behind me and then leave Egypt."
This news completely surprised them, "Why do you mean leave Egypt?" Mana asked in a panic.
"What I mean is that while Atem is sealed away, the gods will take me back to train and be ready for his return to complete his destiny. I am an asim, we only obey and listen to our assigned pharaoh, otherwise, it would hurt us terribly because of the bond we share with our king. So I will be gone until then, not dying just not here on earth. When he comes back therefore I too will return to his side." Bumblebee explained to them.
Seto and Isis nodded knowing that they couldn't change the gods' rules, because as he said he is an asim, being created by the gods to protect specific pharaohs whom the gods deemed worthy to have one at their side, but Mana didn't understand.
"Isn't Seto worthy to have one too?" She persisted as she cried.
'Bee looked at the young sorceress with sadness, "Yes, he is worthy Mana, yet, he already has a great guardian in the form of Kisara, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. She will protect him from now on, just as I and your teacher Maha'ad did." He looked at all three of them, "I will miss all of you my friends, but I must leave. Goodbye Pharaoh Seto, Priestesses Isis, and Mana." With that, he and Atem's body vanished in a bright light.
The three looked at each other before they started walking towards the palace with Pharaoh Seto leading the way.
Atem's Tomb
A bright flash appeared within the silent tomb, revealing Bumblebee and Atem, in the main innermost chamber of the tomb. 'Bee walked forward to the pedestal holding the stasis pod. He opened the pod and placed Atem's body within it, sealing the lid tightly, and then he activated it. The pod came to life filling the chamber with stasis gas, preserving Atem's body for the next 5,000 years.
Bumblebee pushed the hidden door closed with a single secret cybertronian glyph that was made by cyber-wolves, it meant pack, concealing his king's true hiding place. He made sure that the sarcophagi were closed then placed into the outer casket and sealed that too to further dissuade tomb raiders, with the inner sanctum. He closed the door leading to this room and commanded it to seal itself, with the password Maha'ad implied with the locking spell.
While he was in the outer chamber he placed the golden box containing the pieces of the millennium puzzle, onto the pedestal at the back of the chamber near the door to the inner sanctum. "Good-bye for now my friend, sleep well." With this last goodbye, he activated all the tomb's defenses and sealed the entire tomb. His amethyst-encrusted choker began to glow and with a final flash of light, he was gone.
The Hall of Justice
Bumblebee reappeared on the fountain in the center of the hall, he fell to his knees sobbing over the loss of his friend Atem, for he was unable to hold them back anymore. Ten minutes passed when he felt arms wrapping around him, he didn't care who it was and fell into the goddess' embrace, accepting the comfort she was offering.
"Shh, Bumblebee. Let it all out, it's alright." Bastet embraced him, rubbing his back like a youngling.
The other gods filed into the room with another goddess, who had the head of a lioness, she is known as Sekhmet, who joined Bastet in comforting Bumblebee.
An hour had passed when 'Bee finished crying, and he sat up in Sekhmet's and Bastet's arms. "Thank you, it was hard to maintain being calm and holding back my sorrow of what transpired today."
"You are welcome Bumblebee. Do you want to rest before we talk to you or do you want to get it over with? Sekhmet asked him.
'Bee thought it over then answered, "Can we get it over with please?"
"Sure, young one," Ma'at smiled, raising her hand toward Ra, the highest Egyptian god, as their father.
Ra smiled, "Well Bumblebee you will have to make a choice. Between staying here and learning how to duel, and control the Shadow Realm. Plus anything else we deem that you will need to assist the pharaoh and his soul-mate in the future, for the next 5,000 years. Or we send you back to your original timeline, returning to the Autobots for ten years then we will take you back to Yugi's and Atem's side when she completes the puzzle?" He asked him.
Bumblebee thought of his options and then made his choice, "I think it would be wise to stay here in this realm for the next 5,000 years then going back for ten years. It'll make training go easier that way I'll have more time to learn."
All eight gods nodded in pride, as they all agreed with him. Each of them was honored that his god Primus asked them to help finish teaching what he needed to know, and the rest of his time as a youngling, before he went through his maturity.
Osiris spoke next, "Then your training will begin in a few days. We will train you in all your od forms including your cybertronian form except your vehicle form as we wouldn't know where to begin with that. Bastet will your room you'll use while you're within our realm."
"Thank you," Bee thanked them as he followed Bastet to his new room.
AN: And this concludes the back story of how Bumblebee knew Atem/The Pharaoh, why he was away from the Autobots, and his dark secret. This took forever to type!
Now we fast-forward 5,000 years later to when this anime started.
