"Hey! Where's your harness! I don't want to pay extra insurance if you fall!"

"I just got up here, sheech!" Joe hated wearing his harness, it was so uncomfortable. Once he put it on he walked over to his tools. "What the? Where's my hammer?!" He had it in his toolbox.

"Just needed for a second! Here." Greg knew how possessive Joe was about his tools.

"I told you not to touch my stuff!" Greg was a known scatterbrain, Joe lost count of how many tools he misplaced or lost.

"It was one hammer!" Greg hoped Joe didn't notice his nail gun gone, Greg couldn't remember when he had it.

"Hey! We are on a deadline! Stop yapping and get this done!"

"Alright!" Both Joe and Greg exchange glances.

"Why are we working for Mike again?" Mike was their best friend, but they hated working for him, Mike was very strict.

"Because we don't exactly have a choice?" Both Greg and Joe lost their jobs last year when the market took a nose dive, luckily Mike offered them work.

"C'mon, a few more shingles then we can move over to the tar." They had a few contracts to fulfill Mike promised all three there would be a bonus at the end of the year if they landed that contract at DRE.

Michelle sighed as she dried her dishes, since her husband died, she had to take over his tasks as the new homeowner. She tuned out the roofers above her, whatever they were arguing about it wasn't her business. She looked out a window to see a well-dressed man walking by, quite unusual in her neighbourhood. She noticed his cane, it was quite similar to her late husband's, it had the same jewel-like handle.

"Ahh!" Paige dives out of the way just before the monster could grab her again. She was so glad she could orb.

"You can't run from us witch! Your powers are useless against us!"

"Just my luck my sisters aren't around." Paige mumbled. So much for her potions.

"Here." The hunter who was helping Paige hands her a knife. "Harpies, the only thing that can paralyze them is stabbing them through the heart."

"And to kill? Whoa!" She orbs them both away just before they are grabbed by the large talons.

"Fire."

"Okay. Knife! Stab that giant bird in the heart!" She aimed her hand in the harpy's direction.

The harpy screamed as she felt that knife appearing in her chest. Her wings flapping she falls hard to the ground.

"Okay, now what?" Its two sisters were still flapping about. Paige grimaces as she rubs her shoulder from the harpy who grabbed her earlier and lifted her several feet in the air before dropping her far from the ground. Luckily Paige orbed herself to safety before she splattered.

"You're the witch, you tell me."

"You're a seasoned hunter, you tell me."

"Touché."

"I need a spell." Her sisters weren't around, unfortunately. "Um, let's see." Paige's power wasn't enough to vanquish a harpy, never mind three, but she and her new friend were dead if she didn't do something.

"Hurry, they have excellent senses."

"Don't rush me. Okay." Paige racked through her brains for a quick on-the-spot spell.

"Claws of Pain,

I Need You to Sever,

Be Gone From Our Sight Forever."

SCREECH!

"I tried." Paige swallowed when the harpies flew by their hiding spot.

"Can't you orb us outta here?" The hunter flinched hearing them scream.

"We have to finish this. Ten people are missing, my department is in charge of this case." Paige, when she saw the crime scene, immediately knew what they were dealing with. She couldn't call her sisters for help, both Piper and Phoebe were preoccupied with their own problems. "That jogger, I need to put his family at ease." Paige couldn't get the sight of seeing his torn-up body earlier, his bloodied femur lying a few feet away.

"This isn't a normal homicide...Oh shit!" One of the harpies landed in front of their hiding spot. He screamed getting grabbed and taken away. "HELP!"

"Dammit!" Paige was about to orb to save him but couldn't when the monster's partner landed in front of her.

"Like I said your powers are useless." The harpy transformed into a woman. "I'm going to enjoy this." She bared her long claws.

Paige was about to orb when she heard a gunshot.

"Ahhh!" The harpy screamed as she felt that bullet hitting her spine.

"It's now or never." Paige jumps out of her spot and grabs the harpy's hand. "Hope you don't mind." Paige twists its human-like hand and thrusts its long claws into the monster's chest.

"Ahhhhhhhh!" The harpy screams as she feels her long nails boring into her heart.

"Watch out below!" Paige dives out of the way before the hunter lands on her.

"Hey watch it!" Paige didn't know how he could survive falling from a high place but didn't ask. "You almost hit me!"

"Sorry!" The hunter was so glad he was an outdoorsman in his spare time. "Here!" He hands her a tree branch. "Before she gets us!" The third harpy was diving towards them, her long talons stretching out.

"Tree branch! Hit that bitch deep into the heart!" She calls out. The tree branch glows white before disappearing into thin air.

"Ugh." Both hunter/witch cover their ears. "Why do they screech so loud?" His ears were ringing. He watches as the harpy slams to the forest floor.

"Let's just burn the bodies before I call this in." Paige was wondering why so many accidents were happening lately. Hopefully, with the harpies dead, things would go back to normal. "Never got your name."

"Pintor. Gabe Pintor. Remember? We met at the art show?" His long hair was sticking to his face.

"Right." Paige forgot. "Sorry, I've been busy." Paige usually didn't forget faces, but she was determined to prove herself to her bosses at the station. "And that's Officer Matthews to you." Paige was currently on duty. "You need to stay to answer some questions." Paige needed to call the dead body in, but not before the harpies' bodies were ash.

"Sure. Wouldn't be the first time I spoke to the cops." He watches the pyre burning the bodies away a few minutes later. He and Paige gathered some wood and dry leaves to make a makeshift pyre for the three harpies.

"It's so weird, harpies usually tear the bodies apart. Those accidents, they were so unusual." Paige was part of the investigations, although she couldn't exactly write 'possible death from a harpy' on her reports.

"Probably a coincidence." He didn't say much once Paige called her radio.

"Done. So, how do we explain this?" Unlike the accidents in town, the missing people had blood scattered about, some with a large claw left behind.

"Wild animal gone bad? A crazy serial killer? Wouldn't be the first time we covered up the truth." Gabe grabbed a talon from the ash pile.

"What are you doing?" Paige watches as he pockets it.

"Harpy talons are worth a fortune in the black market, hunters and demons alike use these to hunt their enemies." Gabe knew the material would make an excellent knife.

"Gross." Paige knew witches used talons for powerful potions, although they were first grinded into fine powder. "Get ready to act, here's my colleagues." She heard the sirens pulling up.

"How about this. I'm a hunter, hunting when I was attacked. How's that?"

"You're not lying at least." Paige nods to her supervisor as he gets out of the patrol car.

Joe held out his hand to grab his tool. When he touched thin air, he saw the bar close to the roof's edge.

"How the hell did you get all the way over there? Dammit Greg." Greg probably moved it and forgot to put it back. He grumbled as he got up. "This is the last time I swear."

Mike was looking over his cell, he usually didn't carry his phone on jobs, but he couldn't miss that crucial call from Dick Roman Enterprises. His small roofing company needed all the business he could get, that contract alone could get him some extra employees to fulfill the rest of his contracts before he landed the big fish. Hearing a gasp, Mike watched in horror as a shingle slipped away underneath Joe's feet.

"Hey watch out!" He drops his phone to grab Joe before he falls.

"Mike!" He was so glad he was wearing his harness. Unfortunately what neither was expecting was his harness tripping Mike. "MIKE!" Joe watches helplessly as Mike dives head-first off the roof, his harness snapping in half. "Oh god." Joe felt sick hearing the impact. He didn't look down, he knew Mike landed on his head.

"Mike! Mikey!" Greg comes running from the other side. "Nooo." His vision blurred seeing the mess on the ground.

"We need to call 911." Poor Mike. He allows Greg to help him up. "Thank god he insisted I wear my harness." His was brand new, Joe spent his own money to replace Mike's own equipment.

"He was always cheap. I tried telling him sometimes you have to spend the extra cash." Greg had his own, he had it for years. "Poor Penny. Her and the kids, what would we tell them?" Mike worked his ass off to provide for his family.

"Hope he kept up his insurance." Just as Joe was about to climb off the roof, the air compressor they were using started shaking. "Greg, mind turning that off?" They needed to climb down, but not before cleaning up anything hazardous.

"Sure man." Just as Greg walked over to the machine, the air compressor suddenly blew up sending its parts through Greg's chest.

"GREG!" Joe watched as Greg dropped dead from the large hole in his body. "Screw this." This job was too dangerous. He walks carefully to his ladder and climbs down. "Where's my cell?" He never carried his on the job, Mike forbade it, insisting it was for safety reasons. Just as he walks to his car, he tripped over a roller that fell off his belt earlier. Joe fell backwards, the last thing he saw was a man wearing a bowler hat tipping his hat at him.

Michelle looked up hearing a yelp. She thought she heard noises earlier from the other side of her home, but didn't think much about it, the rented dumpster was where the roofers threw out her old shingles.

"Done." She put away her last cup. Just as she looked out the window, she saw two feet lying on her driveway. "Oh no!" She hurried out to make sure the young man wasn't hurt, the last thing she needed was a lawsuit. When she saw his twisted neck, she knew he was dead. "My god." She needed to call 911, but not before telling his partners. "Mr Sendeko! Mr Beechum! Joe, he needs an ambulance!" She knew it was too late for Joe, but she needed the authorities. "Hey!" She called out to her roof. "Dammit." Where are those guys? She went to the other side, they were most likely throwing out garbage. Once she saw the two dead bodies she felt faint. "No. No. No." It was her husband's accident all over again. "Need the paramedics. The cops, my lawyer." The lawsuits will eat her alive, her insurance company won't cover this.

She thought she saw the well-dressed man watching her, but when she blinked, he was gone.

"Focus Michelle." She stumbled walking down her pathway, she never noticed how clumsy she was. "Ow!" She fell hard when her knee gave out from under her. "Shit." She swore when her slipper broke apart from underneath her. "Almost there." She tripped walking up her steps, and gasped as her door slammed on her nose. "That's it. I'm selling this dump." She was willing to sell her house at a loss, just as long as she was far away from this jinx. Ignoring the cut from the sharp edge of her doorway, she went to fetch her phone.

Across the street, the man in the bowler hat watches in amusement as a tree cutter loses his leg from the chainsaw that landed on his thigh. His screams echoed across the neighbourhood, shame almost everyone was either not at home, or was choosing to ignore it.

"Sometimes they make it too easy." The well-dressed man whistles as he cheerfully walks away, his cane tapping on the sidewalk.

"Everything's fine! Like I said, standard police work." Paige had to keep the call short, she was on duty. "Ramirez is on vacation, and I'm waiting for my new partner." She was happy for her partner, he was rumoured to be next in line to be detective next year, she was going to miss him. "I doubt it's anything sinister, I didn't sense anything evil." She did her investigation about the accidents, she needed to make sure bad luck wasn't running amock. "Harpies? Maybe a hunter took care of them." She should have known Phoebe would get a premonition. "Yes, our department investigated." She lowered her voice. "It's been taken care of. No, I don't know his name, he cleaned up once I arrived on scene." Gabe made Paige swear not to say anything about his involvement, saying he couldn't chance anyone bothering him. "If anything goes wrong, I'll call you and Piper. Gotta go. Give Coop my best." She hangs up when Inspector Davidson walks up to her desk. "Good morning Sir, just following up on the latest case." She made a few calls to witnesses to see if they saw anything, luckily almost everyone didn't see much, just hooded figures.

"That's good." Davidson hated missing cases, they were incredibly hard to solve. "Your reports, I need them by four."

"Already done sir." Paige was determined to follow in her partner's footsteps, no way was she staying on patrol. She handed him her folder.

"A cougar, makes sense." Paige was going to write down cannibal, but Gabe suggested a wild animal instead. Said it was better that this case was opened and shut as soon as possible. "Every one of the victims was outside when they went missing."

"Or had their doors open." Harpies wings were huge. "Got a new case for you." He handed her a folder.

"A bus crash?" Paige was disappointed. She was hoping she'd get something good, like a break-and-enter. She was sick of death. She opened it and read the contents. "No offense sir, but a heart attack is hardly a case."

"Ordered by the city, it was their driver that lost control, their insurers need an investigation."

"I'm not CSI (Crime Scene Investigation), I don't have the proper training."

"But we need witness reports."

"As you wish Sir." She held back her sigh. At least she could drive her police-issued motorcycle, she didn't have a partner at the moment. She gets up to get her keys, the way to the Fitness Zone was a long drive.

Paige tried not to grimace at the scene, blood and glass were everywhere. Thankfully the bodies were gone, the coroner must've taken them away. Seeing a familiar face she couldn't believe it.

"Officer Mitchell?" Henry Mitchell was sitting in his wheelchair taking pictures. "What are you doing here? This is an active case." As far as she knew he wasn't on the force anymore.

Henry looked startled seeing the policewoman, he didn't expect to be caught. He hurriedly put away his phone.

"I was working out when the bus hit. My arms, I lift weights to keep myself strong. Plus I was ordered to talk to the cops." The paramedics that showed up needed him as a witness since he was one of the few that wasn't hurt, luckily he was in the back lifting weights.

"Taking pictures?" Paige held out her hand.

Henry lifts his hands.

"I don't need a lecture, I was a detective before I was shot. I just needed to get evidence while the scene was still fresh. I will comply with everything." He hands her his cell. "Take the pictures you need, but I'll need my phone back as soon as possible." Henry shook his head. "I tried my best, but couldn't save them." His wheelchair prevented him from reaching the two that were crushed by the treadmills.

"Okay. Tell me what you saw." Paige took out her notepad.

"I was lifting weights in the back, doctor's orders, when the bus hit. At first, I didn't see or hear anything, I was listening to my podcasts. Then I felt a rumble, then a crash. I thought it was an earthquake, then when I saw people flying, I saw the bus sticking through the building." Henry closed his eyes thinking about those poor people underneath the treadmills. "There was a lot of screaming, people were hurt, especially on the bus." Henry saw a lot of blood on the bus' windows. "People were crying, the driver, he was dead the moment I saw his face." Henry couldn't go close to the scene but saw his blank eyes through the windshield. "I have my certificate in First Aid, I helped those that could walk, but that was after I called 911."

"What about the pictures.'' Paige trusted him, people sang his phrases back in the police station, his former partner told stories about his work solving difficult cases.

"I know the protocol. CSI needs everything as soon as possible, especially the insurance companies. I took pictures once the paramedics and fire department showed up, I wanted to make sure I took as many photos as possible while the accident was still fresh."

"Thanks for your time." Just as Paige was about to call it in, she got another call on her radio.

"Attention all units, we have a Code 3, 11-30, Highway 101, major injuries reported, multiple deaths confirmed."

"This is Officer Matthews, on my way. Over." Once she clicked off the radio, she rushed out. "Excuse me."

"Hey! You forgot this!" Henry's cell fell out of her pocket. It was too late, Paige already ran out. "Oh well. I can hand deliver it myself." Henry didn't need the pictures, just the faces of the passengers, especially the man with the cane. Henry looked grimly at the photo, that guy, he was smiling at the dead bodies, whistling away.

Paige was horrified seeing the accident, death and destruction were everywhere. When she saw a mother and her two children dead in their car, she gave them a quick prayer.

"This was no accident." Paige knew it, she could smell the evil a mile away. Just as she was about to call her sisters, she saw her fellow cops pulling up. She'll call them later, she saw movement coming from one of the children in that car. "Wait! Don't move! I'm here to help you!" Whatever was responsible, she'd figure it out later, right now she needed to do her job. She sees a dashcam lying on the road. Absently Paige picks it up and sticks it in her coat, there may be footage inside. She waves to the paramedics who just pulled up, yelling there was an injured child. "Hey! We have movement! A child!" Paige knew everyone needed help, but children were a higher priority.

Across town a playground of children was playing outside. Since the fall weather was surprisingly warm, most of the kids were wearing t-shirts and sandals, some with bare feet. Dalton watched the children with amusement, their laughter echoing across the schoolyard.

"Catch!" A young boy throws a ball at his best friend Jimmy who tries to catch it, but when the ball misses his hands, they watch helplessly as it flies over his head.

"You're going to get in trouble." Miss Maxwell wouldn't be happy.

"No you will, you're supposed to catch it." Lorne insisted.

"Fine." Jimmy stomps over to the fence to retrieve their ball. When he saw it was on the other side of the fence, he groaned. Just when he was about to climb the fence to climb it, he called out to the man crossing the street. "Hey Mister! Can you pass me that ball?"

"Certainly." Dalton waited till the traffic paused before crossing the street. Once he picks up the ball, he goes to hand it over to the boy, but not before infecting it with a fast-acting MRSA virus.

Miss Maxwell blows her whistle seeing an unfamiliar man talking to one of her students.

"Jimmy! Get over here right now!" She hurries over to the fence, never could be too careful, predators were everywhere.

"Just retrieving the ball." Dalton tells her in a polite tone. "Here you go Jimmy. Ma'am." He tilts his hat at her. "Enjoy your day." He didn't blame her for being so paranoid, although she would be dead in less than a week from sepsis. Jimmy, would join her but not before being labeled Patient 0. He taps his cane as he walks away, there are more people out there that need to keep him amused. "Well, well, well." A speck from the sky catches his eye.

From the distance, he could see a sky jumper floating down from his parachute. Then when two others joined him, Dalton smiled at the opportunity.

"This is going to be fun." He already killed two people on his walk, he was getting bored with how easy killing was. The couple didn't stand a chance. Finding a bench to sit on, he closes his eyes and concentrates.

Three men were talking about today's jump, the oldest one, Robert "Mac" McGlaughlin was talking about their plans afterwards.

"Once we land on the ground, you feel like grabbing beers?"

"Only with steak." Dave was starving, he always fasted before a jump.

"Steak and beers? Sounds good to me." Art missed his two best friends since he moved away for work, all three met up every year to jump for Mac's birthday.

"This will take all my concentration." Dalton hated this part, it was always painful to open his third eye. He hoped no human saw him, it would be an inconvenience to have dead bodies lying around once they looked into his eye. He tried not to grimace at the pain, using all of his mind power will wear him out for the rest of the day. "Enjoy your jumps, gentleman." He already sabotaged their parachutes by wearing down their ropes, but he also needed to destroy their AADs (Automatic Activation Devices) just in case. Shame he didn't have a front-row seat, but a theatre show would have to do.

He watched as a lady pilot joined the three men, letting them know they'd be the last jumpers of the day.

"Should I kill her as well?" He shook his head, the last thing he needed was the FAA sniffing around, especially hunters. Those three will do, at least till his plans come to fruition. His mouth-watering, he couldn't wait to enjoy a rare steak later that evening, extra rare.

"You're here early Mac, usually you three are my last jumpers." Luna was their pilot, her small Cessna was always used for skydivers.

"Dinner plans, we're celebrating." Mac's stocks finally went up, he was finally retiring from his job. Tomorrow he was going to the travel agency to surprise his wife for a second honeymoon in the Far East.

"Plus we're starving." Dave's stomach growled.

"And to say our last hurrah." This would be their last jump, Art promised his wife he'd stop skydiving and spend his spare time with their grandkids.

"Then let's fly!" Luna says cheerfully. She waited till all three were buckled up before revving down the tarmac.

Dalton smiled. Even though he knew he'd have a large migraine from the distance and height, he knew their deaths would satisfy his bloodlust.

He had to concentrate very hard on the three, it wasn't easy, but their would-be deaths were worth it. He concentrated first on Mac, the leader. He was always the last to jump, he always liked racing his friends to the bottom once they freefalled. Dalton silently loosened his helmet straps, forcing Mac to fix his helmet while in the air, completely forgetting about his parachute strap handles that happened to loosen from years of use.

Once he finished with Mac, he concentrated on Art. Art was always the most cautious, he always made sure to double-check everything before he did anything, today he made sure his ADD's batteries were brand new and charged. Tora made sure to short-circuit the wires connecting the batteries, plus twist his parachute into a tight knot in his bag.

"Should've updated your life insurance." His wife would get a nice payout from the insurance, however, her heart condition would clean out their finances from the stress of losing her husband thanks to the mild heart attack she'll get from hearing the news later this afternoon.

Dave was the easiest to do, Dalton already decided how he'd spend his last few minutes, breaking his hips from the accelerated speed once his parachute straps snapped in half, luckily for him the pain would be brief once he hit the hard ground.

"See you on the ground!" Art holds out his arms as he flies backwards. "Woooo!" He was going to miss this, but he was looking forward to spending more time with his grandkids.

"You wanna go first?!" Dave yelled. He tried not to think about his arthritis, he wasn't as young as he used to be.

"Go right ahead!" Once Dave was gone, Mac waves goodbye to Luna. "Thanks for the memories!" He dove headfirst out of the plane.

Luna pressed a button on her control board to close the door, she was glad she spent the extra money on her new plane.

Dalton twisted his cane handle, pleasuring himself from the sights that he saw from his vantage point. The three men were far, but he could see three specks flying down at high speeds.

Dave screamed seeing the ground coming towards him, the pain in his hips was excruciating from the parachute straps giving him a body wedgie. He closed his eyes before the impact, silently telling his grandkids to never skydive.

"Oh my god!" Art couldn't believe it. "My chute." It was all twisted. Trying not to panic, he pressed the button on his ADD to deploy the emergency chute. When nothing happened, Art saw Mac desperately trying to save him. "Goodbye, old friend." He didn't know where Dave was, hopefully he was safe on the ground.

"ART!" Mac tried and failed to catch him. "He's gone." Mac gave him a quick prayer. He swore to make sure June was taken care of, Art made sure to update his insurance every year for his wife. When he went to pull the straps to open his parachute, his eyes were in disbelief at the loosened straps. "You gotta be kidding me." Those were the last words he ever spoke.

"Ahh. Ahhhhhhhh." Dalton sighed in pleasure. "Damn, how embarrassing." His new pants. "Guess I need to change." He didn't bother to see the mess, just knowing all three were bloody pulps was good enough. Spying a maintenance worker working down the street, Dalton presses down on his cane, exposing a small spike. "Don't worry, the city will pay out a large lawsuit for leaving their workers without a partner." A simple stabbing in the heart would suffice, he just needed to borrow the worker's van for a few hours. "Plus I need new clothes." His pants were starting to chaff. Whistling a tune, he tapped his cane down the street. "Excuse me sir!" Dalton smiled at the worker. "Mind if I catch a lift? My car broke down."

"Sorry man, liability issues. There's a bus stop nearby." The guy shakes his head.

"I have no change I'm afraid." Dalton used his last few coins on the last bus he rode. Shame his driver suffered a fatal heart attack. He jabbed the spike through the man's chest, the maintenance worker gasping in pain before dying. "Good thing you and I are the same size." His jeans would fit Dalton nicely. He grabs the body and throws him in the van, using cables to hide his body. "Time to go." He needed to ditch this van before dinner, the city counts their trucks before the end of the day. He changes his pants before he leaves, can't drive with sticky pants. Turning on the engine, Dalton drives towards his next destination, a mall.

"Not again." Paige got a call to investigate a possible plane crash. "I'll be right there." Luckily the airport was just a few miles away. "Bye Ashley." She waved goodbye as the ambulance drove away. "This is Officer Matthews, 10-4. On my way." She hurries back to her motorcycle, hoping there wasn't an airline pile up too.

Gabe finishes interviewing the witnesses, the poor men needed tons of counselling. He tried not to step on the vomit from the ground crew, Gabe hated the thought of the skydiver's final moments.

"Again, my condolences." He didn't need to see the bodies, he knew without a doubt the men were dead. However, he needed to see the equipment. He had to know how their equipment was sabotaged. Seeing a police motorcycle pulling up, he goes to greet Paige.

"Oh god." Paige felt sick seeing the mess on the ground. Those three men didn't have a chance. She wasn't alone, the FAA was here, along with emergency vehicles, as well as Gabe, the hunter she met a while back. He was standing a few feet away nodding discreetly at her. "Rest in peace." Who would do this? The same dark feeling was around, Paige shivered at it. "This was deliberate." Paige was ordered to check out the scene, Davidson's plate was full with many reports coming in. She walked over to Gabe.

"You can tell huh?" Gabe hoped they went fast, he still remembered how long those seconds took when the harpy dropped him from the sky. Luckily he grabbed on some trees before hitting ground, although he nearly broke his wrists. His hands were still raw and sore.

"Demon?" Paige didn't think so, there was no sulphur smell.

"I doubt it. Witch?" He needed to check out the plane as well as the equipment and see if there were any hex bags around. He was wearing a suit, pretending he was an insurance agent for the city.

"Perhaps." Paige hated to think a fellow witch would do this. Her radio cracked with more reports, 911 calls were coming in from all over the city.

"How many accidents today?" He already interviewed the homeowner for the three roofers who died at her home. The poor woman had gone through a lot, she was babbling about how cursed she was.

"You see this! I nearly broke my neck!" Michelle was covered in bandages and bruises when Gabe met with her. She told Gabe she was leaving everything behind to leave town to move in with her estranged sister. "This house, this city. No way am I staying. I have a sister. Maybe this is a sign that we need to talk." Michelle was shaking her head. "I need to get out of here. You want anything? It's all yours. The house included."

"Too many." Paige knew she couldn't do this alone. "I gotta make some calls. Excuse me." She left Gabe to talk to the pilot, maybe she saw something. She walked away from the crowd, she needed privacy.

"Hello?" Paige smiled hearing Mel talking in the background. Luckily Piper was far away from here.

"Piper? I need help."

"Demons? Mel! Get down from there! Sorry. Mel is levitating at the moment."

"Levitating? And I'm not there to see it." Seeing the coroner pulling up to pick up the three dead bodies, or what was left of them, Paige shakes her head. Now wasn't the time for family talk. "We have a problem. A P3 size problem."

"Azazel?" Piper heard he was causing trouble. "Did he send his minions?"

"I don't know. Turn on the news. Headlines are popping up all over about the city." Paige saw reporters pulling in.

"Give me a minute." Piper turned on the television for Mel, distracting her so Piper could read her laptop. "What?! How long has this been going on? Disaster Demon?" Wouldn't be the first time. Piper sounded horrified.

"I don't know. Maybe more than twenty-four hours? I didn't check, I had my own issues." Those harpies must've taken advantage of the situation, or whatever this thing was used the harpies as a distraction to do evil.

"I wonder if this demon knew Sam and Dean were busy, or that we were all separated." Piper was afraid of that. By themselves, they were strong, together they were invisible.

"I can pick you up." There wasn't much Paige could do here, the FAA was taking over.

"I can't leave Mel. Jenna just left." Piper had no idea where she took off to, all she said a client called for her. "Are there any other witches or hunters you could call?" If things were different Piper would've immediately left as soon as she could. However, she had more responsibilities first. Namely her family. "Mel! Don't grow that plant any taller. You know how noisy Mrs Joy is." Mel got a kick growing plants at a very high speed.

"I can't. This is too big." Paige heard Piper's sigh.

"I know. Dammit. I would've sent Sam, or better yet Bobby. But they're still in New York." Piper hoped he was okay. "I'll call Phoebe, but only as a last resort. She's pregnant." No way was she fighting evil in her condition.

"Thanks Sis." Paige needed this solved as quickly as possible. She tried not to listen to the 911 calls that were coming in from a matinee downtown.

"217 in process, Sunrise Theatre. All available units." Paige knew she had to answer it until she overheard another report.

"Code 3, San Francisco Center Mall, structural damage, unknown injuries. All available emergency units report!"

"As you can see. I can't do this alone." Paige had to find the demon responsible for this.

"I'll ask Ryan, maybe ask Jenna's parents to babysit for a day. I don't think they'll mind a familiar watching over everyone." Ryan/Riot was an excellent bodyguard for his charges, plus a good friend of the Winchesters.

"I'll come pick you up. Just give me a few minutes." Paige needed to be alone, she couldn't chance anyone seeing her orb away. She walked quickly to the airport, maybe there was an empty room she could use. Luckily the airport was nearly empty, almost everyone was outside. Seeing a janitor's closet, she quickly sneaks inside. "Hopefully this guy doesn't get into trouble." The janitor's station was unlocked. To be extra careful, she locked the door behind her before disappearing in white lights.

Henry was back at his apartment watching the news. It was grim, really grim. The bus accident was one thing, but a mall collapse?

"The hell is going around in this town?" Henry clicks off the television. Hearing a noise by his window, he wheeled himself to the window. "What the.." He was startled seeing a black streak flying by his face.

"Meow!" A black cat jumps in purring at Henry's feet.

"Hey! There's no cats allowed in here." Henry didn't mind cats, but because of his chair, he couldn't take care of a pet, even if his apartment building allowed animals. He stared at the cat who purred at his feet.

"Meow!" The cat sat down looking expectantly at Henry.

"You know it's against the law to break and enter." The cat simply purred. Henry couldn't help but smile. After all the gloom he read, the cat was a welcome distraction.

"You hungry? I got some luncheon meat."

"Purr." The cat stood up and lifted its tail.

"Fine. But just for an hour." Henry had a lot of work to do, his client just called asking him for updates about his unfaithful wife.

Once he set down a plate for the cat on the floor, his phone pinged.

'Mitchell read this. All this in a span of three hours.' Diana sent him the latest 911 calls.

''A MRSA outbreak? A shooting? A missing man? Even for San Francisco, this is too much, especially a day.'' He wrote back to Diana, telling her not to work too hard.

'Try not to overdo it. You're just one person.' For once Henry was glad he wasn't on the force.

'Meet me at the nearest high school, I need to see you in person.'

'Give me fifteen.' Henry clicks off his messages. He looked over at the cat.

"You have a name?"

The cat meowed.

"Sorry don't speak cat. Mind if I call you Shadow?"

"Purr." The cat yawned.

"Shadow it is. I'll leave the window open, that way you can find a bathroom yourself." Henry picked up his laptop and equipment. "Try not to destroy my furniture, thanks." He wasn't in a hurry to follow the unfaithful wife, she wouldn't dare try anything until her husband left for work later that night. Right now he had to meet Diana at the high school, she said it was very important.

"Ugh. I forgot how queasy orbing was." Phoebe covered her mouth. She was wearing Coop's ring, it was the only way to travel across the country without a whitelighter.

"We told you we could handle things." Piper scolded. She hitched a ride from Paige after she dropped off Mel and Riot at Jenna's and Dean's. Jenna's parents didn't mind the extra company, Laura and DJ loved their cousin.

"If you saw what I saw, you would've called me anyway." She usually didn't mind her visions, but ever since she got pregnant, her powers were stronger than usual. "Got some aspirin?" She had a huge migraine.

"Yeah, medicine cabinet." While Phoebe went to fetch them, Piper demanded what was going on.

"Car crashes? Bad luck gone super bad? Paige, what's going on?" The news reports didn't cover magic.

"Wish I knew. Look, I'll explain more, right now I gotta get back. Look online for the news, I bet more things are happening. See ya!"

Paige jumped hearing the doorknob jiggling once she orbed back.

"Shit." She straightened her uniform and walked out of the closet. Seeing the befuddled janitor, she smiled politely at him. "Had to make some private calls. Excuse me." Seeing Gabe, she walks up to him asking what he knows.

"Not much." Gabe saw the bodies being taken away, poor bastards. "You know much about skydiving?"

"Not really." Paige was a whitelighter, she didn't need a plane to fly. "What happened?"

"They fell. I need to see the equipment, but the FAA won't let me see them in person." Gabe needed to see if there was any magic residue, that way he could narrow his search to see what creature was doing this.

"I'll ask my sister." Hopefully Phoebe didn't pass out from her visions, she was complaining she had headaches every day.

"They had over thirty years of experience. One accident is one thing, but all three?" Gabe doubted they had any enemies.

"Not here. I'll meet you at the Manor. My sisters, they'll want info."

"Sure." Gabe knew who they were, they met at the art gallery a while back. "You didn't say anything about the harpies right?"

"No. Why? Are you hiding something?" Paige looked suspiciously at him.

"Ordinary monsters are one thing. But this is too big." Seeing Paige's expression, he gave her an explanation. "I prefer to do a job, then go home. But this, you'll need all the help you can get."

"I suppose so." Paige still was on shift, shame she never had a day off as a witch.

Piper and Phoebe were looking over the computer.

"The hell? This is bad, really bad." Phoebe's visions were nothing compared to what she was seeing on the screen. "Did Sam teach you this?" Piper was checking out the crime photos.

"Paige did actually, but warned me to be discreet." Paige had a backdoor to the police department files, courtesy of Ian, but told Piper only to use those as a last resort. "Check this out."

"A murdered couple? So?" San Francisco wasn't completely safe. "They were beaten and robbed. What?" Seeing Piper's expression. "Sorry, but compared to a highway accident, a bus crash, and a mall collapse, these are small potatoes." Phoebe gave them a small prayer.

"Not to mention a possible MRSA outbreak at the hospital. Look." More reports were coming in. "Three roofers die in one day, plus some guy bleeds to death right across the street when a chainsaw cuts through his leg." Seeing a bright light both look up. "Paige?" Who was this guy? His face, Piper swore they met before.

"This is Gabe Pintor. We met a few months ago at the art show."

"I'm a hunter."

"Oh." Now Piper remembered him.

"Right." Phoebe wondered why he didn't help them at the gallery, but didn't push. "I assume you are here about those accidents?"

"Yes. I can't do this alone and asked Paige for help."

"I needed assistance, we ran into one another fighting monsters."

"Really." Piper was about to lecture Paige but remembered she was alone now.

"Hey, with you two gone, someone has to keep an eye on things. Forget it." Paige walks over to the computer. "We have three more accidents, three jumpers fell to their deaths." She clicked on the police database about the sky jumpers.

"Blood spell?" Phoebe shuddered at the amount of magic needed. Those three men were most likely part of the spell. "The amount of blood spilled, this is biblical in nature." She wondered what kind of creature would do this.

"Possibly." Gabe was wondering that himself. "There were more not written in any newspapers. A slip and fall, a pile of newspapers crushing a hoarder, an electrician getting fried on duty, the list goes on."

"How long?" Paige takes out a notepad.

"A few days? Maybe more." He doubted the harpies started it, harpies were mostly known as scavengers.

"I'll get the Book." Piper goes upstairs.

"And I'll check for ingredients. Paige, you have ginger root?" Phoebe felt her stomach rumbling.

"Yeah, what are we making?" Paige knew a few potions, she made some new ones that fried griffins to a crisp.

"Lunch. Gabe, are you staying? I make a mean cashew stirfry." Phoebe was starving.

"Sure. I'll need a favor as well." He asked Phoebe if she could use her psychic magic on the three jumpers.

"I don't know. I'll have to be very close to the object in mind. I doubt the FAA would let me near the equipment."

"Thanks anyways." Those jumpers weren't the only victims, there were possibly dozens or god forbid hundreds more victims out there.

Henry was waiting outside of the school, as much as he was dying to stretch his legs, so to speak, a false alarm is hardly important. He yawned. Ballard was sure taking her time. While waiting, he takes out his phone to watch his case. The guy's wife was heading into a motel room holding hands with her presumed lover.

"Hopefully you have a strong prenup." Henry muttered. He had plenty of evidence, but his client had a contract for an entire month. He insisted Henry get as much dirt as he can. Bored, he closes the tab and reads the news. "A missing plumber? What the hell." Might as well do a freebie. He was mentally taking notes till he heard tapping on his window. "Hey partner." Diana was standing on the passenger side. "Door's open, come on in." He put down his phone. "What's up?" He saw a teenager typing furiously on her phone, she was annoying her boyfriend by gesturing towards three boys standing nearby.

"Mitchell. I need a favor." Diana says as she gets into the van.

"I doubt you called me for a fire alarm." Henry silently told the guy to be patient with his girl. She was cancelling their date to write for her school blog.

"Fine. Sumiko, this is the last time!"

Watching them, Henry wondered about his own love life. He never really dated, even before the chair. Feeling tapping on his shoulder, he shook out of his reverie.

"Hey. You're awake?" Ballard looks over where Henry is looking at. "I remember being that young too."

"Had a lot of boyfriends?"

"Not really. I was too much of a bookworm." Diana didn't blame the girl for being so passionate about her blog, she herself was obsessed with schoolwork. Shaking her head she forced herself to get back on track. "Henry, remember that Berman guy?" That case still spooked Diana. The coroner said he died from a massive heart attack, the drugs he took stopped his heart. As for the spontaneous combustion, the fire marshal blamed the wires on his head, saying the machine that was attached to him was short-circuited. Diana didn't agree with him, she, Henry and the tech all saw differently.

"Is this supernatural in nature?" Henry wondered about the weird events in the city, especially with so many accidents in one day. What are the chances a freeway accident, and a mall collapse happen in one afternoon? Henry doubted it was an earthquake, he didn't feel anything.

"Possibly. I called for help, but my experts never called me back." Diana called the Winchesters again, but when she heard Dean's voice telling her to leave a message, she angrily clicked off the phone.

"What do you want me to do? It will cost you extra." He joked.

"Done."

"I was joking."

"I wasn't. Here." Diana hands him a rabbit foot, plus some four-leaf clover charms.

"Huh?" Henry looked at the junk in his lap.

"You could never be too careful." She witnessed her fellow cops tripping over their own feet this afternoon, one nearing shooting his head off, luckily, or unluckily, it only hit the sprinkler system, causing almost every computer to short-circuit. "Bad luck is amock. Mitchell, I need to know what's causing it." Diana was still sore from tripping and falling earlier, so she hit the nearest mall to pick up some good luck charms, just in case.

"Okay." Henry was getting bored of chasing the wife anyway. "Where do we start?"

"Sunrise Theatre. Thirty people are dead, I need someone to look over the security tapes." Diana had her hands full, her department couldn't do everything alone. "Plus some accidents. I need someone to interview the spouses." Diana wondered if the city was under a curse. She wasn't the only one baffled about the deaths.

"Sure. But what about you." Henry knew Diana was breaking a lot of protocol by having a non-officer on a case. He picked up his phone and watched the breaking news about the theatre shooting, but when another news story popped out about three skyjumpers falling to their deaths, he clicked off his phone.

"I'll just say I was out interviewing witnesses." Diana looked up to see three tough-looking teenagers standing around having smokes.

Henry looked where Diana was looking and shook his head. Those three were trouble, he knew right away they were most likely the ones to pull the false alarm.

"Send me the videos, don't forget the addresses of the victims." Henry watched as the principal ordered the students back inside.

"Got a pen?" Diana hoped she wasn't on the path of bad luck, she still had a lot of things left to do. She shuddered at the thought of her car blowing up with her inside. With those thoughts, she begged Henry to be careful. "Don't try anything stupid, god knows how long this will last."

I'll be super careful. See?" He takes the rabbit's foot and places it in his pocket. Then he puts on the four-leaf clovers around his wrist. He usually didn't believe in luck, but after the events of today, might as well have insurance.

The oni stretched out from his nap. He had a great sleep, he dreamed he saw death and destruction after the end of the world.

"Can't wait." He knew it was inevitable, he had the dreams for years. "Master, I'm getting ready for Your return." He didn't give a damn about his siblings, he didn't care anymore. "Hopefully my call works." The human sacrifices wouldn't be enough, he needed stronger blood. "By tomorrow, the ritual will be complete." His siblings will come to him, their blood spilled will complete the spell. He got off the couch, he had to get ready for his date. He looked over at the bloody corpse. "Thanks for the wheels, my gold digger date will appreciate the golden carriage." He gets in the blue Lamborghini. Wasn't gold, but the car was worth a fortune. Hearing his stomach rumble, he rubbed his belly. "In due time." Humans were delicious to eat, especially after a few days, but nothing beats old-fashioned cannibalism. He turns the key and drives away.

"Got it." Piper shows her sisters and Gabe a picture of a monster. It was an ugly-looking thing, its form had red and black skin with horns protruding out of its head.

"An Oni? Why is it here?" Gabe heard of them but never hunted one.

"Beats me." Onis were rarely seen outside Asia, they preferred to live in poorer regions, whenever death and destruction appeared, no one questioned anything amiss. Piper looks at the picture again, wondering how to destroy it.

"Maybe it is attracted to the Nexus?" Evil existed all over, but San Francisco seemed to attract more evil than most of the country. Phoebe wondered if she and Coop should move back to the city to keep an eye on things.

"Perhaps. But ours isn't the only one out there." Paige didn't know much of the Nexus, she didn't live in the Manor most of her life. "Maybe this thing wanted to get our attention?"

"If he did, he got it." Piper looked at the instructions on how to fight it. "Let's see, onis are repelled by holly plants, do we have any?"

"I think Grams planted some out back, but Prue got rid of them while Kit was here." Holly plants were deadly to cats. Phoebe looked over Piper's shoulder. "Soybeans? Okay. Luckily we have some." Onis had a strong dislike for soybeans for some reason.

"I can get some holly, I'll be back." Paige orbs away.

"I'll do some digging, and figure out why the oni is in San Francisco." San Francisco was a huge city. "It risks exposure, so many deaths in a short time will attract a lot of unwanted attention." Gabe knew hunters would get suspicious, already he had a lot of phone calls.

"Not to mention being on every news station in the world." Piper slammed the Book shut. "Phoebe, got that aspirin?" She had a headache.

"Sure honey." Phoebe needed to call Coop, fill him in on what was happening. They always called each other whenever evil was involved. "You going to call Sam?"

"I already did, he's busy. Demon attack." She looked up at Gabe.

"Trust me, we are just as busy as every other hunter." Gabe came here when people started disappearing. "You need my help? I may not know anything about onis, but I can shoot better than anyone."

"We'll be fine. The Book says onis has near-invisible armor. Bullets, knives, and even fire would be worthless. Maybe you can check out the accident scenes, and see what this guy looks like."

"Yes ma'am." Gabe says sarcastically. He looked down at Piper's expression. "Sorry, I haven't had a break in months."

"Same here." Piper knew witches and hunters had identical lifestyles. Before he left, Piper asked him if he knew Sam and Dean, especially, their late father, John Winchester. "Gabe, have you met a man named John? He was my husband's father."

"John..."

"Winchester. He was a hunter." Piper wondered about him, Sam told her an acquaintance of John was reopening Mary's case. The poor woman died when Sam was just a baby.

"Sorry." Gabe shook his head. "I met many hunters over the years, that name doesn't ring a bell."

"That's alright." Once Gabe left, she went to join Phoebe in the kitchen. "Pheebs, that potion, why soybeans?"

Henry closes his book, to the average person, this case was open and shut. Guy takes a shower, slips and falls from a soap bar, trips and breaks his neck. But even with Henry checking out the scene, thankfully the woman lived in a one-story house, and he knew right away something was amiss. It seemed a little too perfect it was a random accident. He also thought about the old woman who was found buried alive in her home. A pile of newspapers contributed to her demise, it was her adult son that found her body.

"I'm sorry about your loss." Henry looked at the clock, it was almost time for his shift.

Once he returned to his van, he saw a Lamborghini driving by.

"Phew." He whistled. That car was easily worth a quarter million, Henry dreamed about owning one since he was a boy. "Well, well, well. Looks like you got lucky tonight." He recognized the wife, she was in the passenger seat. Her husband Lester was fighting hard to avoid alimony, even with absolute proof his wife was cheating, he would still lose a lot of money thanks to California's alimony laws. But with her new boytoy with his shiny toy, this new revelation will help his case. He turns on his van to follow the adulteress couple.

"This car." Mindy was in awe. "Babe, did you win the lottery or something?" Mindy couldn't wait for the divorce, she was already researching attorneys. Thank god she lived in California, she wasn't going to lose much.

"You could say that." Dalton didn't care about material things, in the grand scheme of things, there were bigger prizes. Humans were so silly. "You hungry?"

"Can we try Quince? I've never been there." Mindy knew how expensive that place was, she always dreamed about eating there like her former wealthy sorority sisters.

"Quince? I dunno. It'd be hard to get a last-minute reservation." Dalton didn't care about where they ate. An accidental kitchen fire? Dalton would have to make sure to keep every exit sealed.

"Please?" Mindy fluttered her eyelids flirtatiously. "It will mean so much to me." She lowered her eyes demurely. Seeing him melt, she silently squealed when he nodded.

"Sure baby. Anything for you." Dalton thought he saw a van following him and pressed the foot pedal down. "Hang on!"

Mindy squealed as they sped down the street towards the San Francisco bridge.

"What's the hurry?!" Most people would be terrified at the speed, but how often can you fly in a Lamborghini?

"I'm hungry!" Dalton had to force himself not to crash the cars around them, he had to save his energy for later.

"Dammit!" Bastard must've spotted him. "Oh well. How many blue Lambos are in San Francisco anyways?" Henry knew exotic cars weren't as popular here, unlike more flashy cities like Los Angeles, Miami, or Las Vegas. He casually drove down the bridge where the car went, but not before planning on calling for a few favors from his cop friends from the automotive department. "Hey. It's Mitchell. Yeah! I'm good. Listen, I need a favor. There's a blue Lambo, can you check out the owner? Stolen? I'm not sure. I know. " Henry knew about California's privacy laws. "Remember Sheridan? How I pulled your ass out of the fire?" His fellow cop nearly got suspended for speeding with the Mayor's car. "Yeah. You owe me. Thanks man." Once Henry hung up, he went to the nearest drive-thru, he was starving.

Paige thanks the saleswoman. She flew to Japan to get the plants, she figured a native species would work better against the oni, whatever that was.

"Hopefully this would be enough." Luckily the saleswoman spoke English. "Time to go home." She took off her police uniform before she came here, she couldn't chance anyone wondering why a San Francisco officer was in Japan in full uniform.

RING!

"Argh!" Paige nearly dropped her bag. "Now?" The Call of the Innocents was calling for Paige. "Where?" She looked around.

RING!

"Back home? Fine." Whoever her innocent was, the oni must've had an eye on him. Or her. She ducked into an alley and orbed away.

"Will this be strong enough?" The pot was boiling. The soybeans were inside, as well as the rest of the ingredients.

"As soon as Paige gets back with the holly." Phoebe hoped the potion worked. "Remember, this is only meant to rub on our skin, not swallow. (Holly plants were poisonous.) The oni won't sense us or read our minds, however, it won't make us invisible." Onis could easily brainwash a human. "Luckily holly and soybeans mixed would counteract that." Phoebe already had her bottles ready for everyone to use.

"Good thing we trained as hunters." The Book said onis were almost immune to magic, like conventional weapons, magic would harmlessly bounce off. "Its eye." Naming the source of its power. "Anything will kill it, but only if we get our hands on its kanabo." Naming the magical weapon/shield. "Finally!" Paige just orbed in. Piper gestures towards the pot. "You got the plant?"

"All the way from Japan." Paige grimaces hearing the call. "Alright! Give me a minute!"

"We're hurrying, we're hurrying!" Phoebe needed to chop up the holly first before throwing it in the pot to boil with the other ingredients.

"Not you. I got an innocent to save." The ringing was getting louder. "Argh! Here." Paige rubbed her temple. "You still have that aspirin?"

"Right behind you." Phoebe sympathized. Poor Paige. She was juggling so much.

"Come back as soon as you're done!" Piper calls as she orbs away. "As soon as you're done, we need to strategize." Her time hunting with Sam, fighting with her sisters as witches, Piper knew this oni won't be easy to kill.

"Can you call that Gabe guy?" Phoebe thought he was cute, she didn't blame Paige for liking him. She threw the holly in the pot, it was time to boil the ingredients.

"I would, but he didn't leave me his card." Piper stirred the pot once Phoebe threw the choppings in.

"Then we'll wait. Hopefully, nothing happens." Hearing the doorbell ringing, Phoebe volunteers to answer it. "I got it!"

"Don't need to yell." Piper muttered. She turned the dial down to let the potion simmer. Seeing Phoebe walk in with their friend Ian and the hunter Gabe, she asked what was going on. "Ian? Gabe? What's going on?" She didn't think they knew each other.

"Your hunter friend filled me in." Ian had a huge migraine thinking about all the paperwork he had to do. "The Mayor is thinking about sending in the National Guard as well as the Army. Whatever is going on, you better solve this soon."

"How long do we have?" Phoebe promised Coop she'd be back, Coop didn't like her to be away, especially since she had a full shift at the veteran's hospital coming up in the next few days.

"Forty-eight hours." Gabe had to call in a lot of favors. "Your friend here, he's keeping the Mayor placated, but we're running out of time." The amount of deaths there was, Gabe was very surprised there wasn't a state of emergency yet. "Your potion, is it ready?"

"Almost." It needed to cool before rubbing it on. "Ian. Is there any way you can explain all the accidents?"

Ian sighed. So much for keeping out of the supernatural life.

"A poor building structure, an undetected earthquake, solar storms, a terrorist attack, already made a list." Ian hoped the sisters could erase the memories of the killings. "Mind explaining why this thing is in the city?"

"Wish I knew." Piper thought about the events in New York. Hell of a coincidence weird things were going on in different coasts at the same time. "Here." She gestures to the counter where everything is. "It needs to cool down." She turned off the stove and moved the hot pot off the burner. "This oni, it could read minds. Rub this on your temples, but be careful not to get it in your eyes. You'll be completely invisible to that thing." Once all four rubbed the potion on themselves a few minutes later, Phoebe gestured for them to follow her to the living room. "Ian, Gabe. Mind filling us in when these accidents started, maybe we'll find a pattern."

Paige was glad she wasn't on duty, it would be awkward to explain to her new charge why they were getting detained. Paige had to protect them from danger, even if it meant they had to be arrested.

"Which one are you?" Pacific Heights was a very high-end neighbourhood, Paige saw many well-dressed people walking around. Was it that college student? Paige saw a young man getting out of his Ferrari. Or was it the waiter? She watched a Hispanic waiter staring resentfully at everyone. Bored, she waits in an alley, pretending to play with her phone. Seeing a rich-looking couple walking to one of the restaurants, she noticed three shady-looking teenagers walking towards them with a wicked glint. "Is one of you three my charge?" Putting away her phone, she runs out of her hiding place and holds up her badge. "Hold it right there!" This was a perfect excuse to see which one was it.

Jesse swore seeing the cop.

"Fuck." So much for an easy mark. Their plans to pickpocket them just went out the window. "Be cool." Jesse's been around, hopefully this lady cop wasn't there to question them about the fire alarm earlier.

"Good afternoon officer." Jesse says politely. He checked her out, fantasizing about bashing her head in.

Henry was drinking a black coffee waiting for his couple to leave the restaurant when some movement caught his eye. Seeing a beautiful brunette arguing with three teenagers, Henry shakes his head.

"Be careful with that one." Jesse Trumball was a known troublemaker, getting into trouble since he was nine, he was well-known to every police officer in the city. Henry arrested him a few times, boy spent more time in juvie than his home. The woman he was arguing with looked so familiar though. Where did he see her before? Before Henry could wonder, a blonde head caught his eye. "Gotcha." Mrs. Morris just stepped out of the restaurant with her new beau. He wasn't worried about getting spotted, he already planted a tracker thanks to his fellow officers. According to them, the Lamborghini was suspected to be stolen, the owner missing. He had to wait, he couldn't chance spooking the driver. Picking up his cell, he called Diana.

"Mitchell. About time." Diana knew about the favor Henry asked from the automobile department. "The Lambo, did you get a good look at the guy?"

"Yep. He's younger than I expected." Mindy's husband wouldn't be happy that his beautiful wife traded him in for a younger man. "This guy, he can't be the psycho you're looking for." He looked like a grad student.

"Michell I've seen some shit over the years. That could be a mask. His face, take a closer look."

Henry picked up his binoculars and took a closer look at the happy couple. The guy was wearing a bowler hat, as well as leather gloves. Normally wouldn't be unusual, but the weather was hot these last few days. When the guy opened the passenger door for his date he was smiling charmingly at her, making her laugh with his jokes. But it vanished as soon as she got in. His eyes, Henry could see the evil glint in his eyes.

"Get ready for an APB. Or at least wait for my call. I think I just found your serial killer." Henry couldn't believe what he saw when Mr Charming took off his hat. "Are those, horns?" The guy only took off his hat for a quick second to wipe his brow. "Are we chasing the devil?" How was Henry going to kill that thing?

"Not without me. Where are you?"

"After. He's leaving." Mindy, Henry knew she was in grave danger. Lester Morris, Henry was going to fire him as a client. His wife deserved better. Turning the key to his van, he waited till they were a safe distance before following them.

Paige didn't back down from the teenager's glare. The leader, Jesse Trumball seemed like an ordinary punk, but Paige immediately could sense the darkness lurking within.

"We're just taking a walk. You don't have any right to bother us." Jesse knew how the law worked, all the times he'd been arrested taught him a few things. "Can we go now?" His two buddies were sweating bullets, Jesse was going to teach them a lesson afterwards how not to be pussies by showing them tough love by beating them up afterwards.

"I'll be keeping an eye on you three." She wasn't worried about the other two, they were just kids. That Jesse kid, Paige knew right away he wasn't human. ''Go home." She wanted to detain Jesse but knew her hands were tied by the law. Nevertheless, she needed to warn her sisters, she may have found their monster.

"C'mon, man. Let's go." No way was Keith going back to juvie, he was almost eighteen.

"We can't afford the food anyway." Bart shivered at the glare Jesse was giving her.

"Fine. Place is too snobby for us." Jesse looked like he wanted to kill her. The pounding in his head signalled he needed to eat something raw and bloody. Or kill something to get rid of it. "Let's go."

Once they left, Paige let out a sigh of relief.

"Phew." She held her chest, her heart was beating fast. Just when she was about to call her sisters, a familiar ringing rang in her ears. "Argh!" Guess her innocent was still out there. "Just let me call my sisters first." She had to warn her sisters about Jesse. Taking out her phone, she called Piper.

"You sure?" Piper's voice sounded skeptical.

"As a whitelighter, I felt the darkness. As a woman, he gave me the creeps." Paige shuddered. "His two friends, I have to get them away from him." She had a feeling Jesse was going to hurt them. "But I have my innocent to save." Paige tried to ignore the noise in her head.

"What if he isn't the killer? He could be some random monster or demon hanging around." A major disaster of this scale, evil could slip and out without anyone knowing. "Where are you?"

"I'm somewhere on Pacific Heights. Ask Ian about Jesse. He could lead you to him. Gotta go." Whoever her innocent was, Paige had to hurry. "Ow. My head." That damn ringing was getting to her. "Hurry. A potion? No time. I can orb if I'm in danger." Once Paige hung up, she looked around the neighbourhood. "I need wheels." Seeing a young man walking out of one of the buildings and towards his Ferrari, she held up her badge. "This is a police emergency! I need your car!" She couldn't use her magic, onis could read minds. Once the guy handed her his keys, Paige turned on the engine. "I swear your car will come back safe and sound." She uses the Call to track her innocent. "Please be okay." Paige couldn't afford to lose anyone. She peels out of the street, ignoring the guy's shouts to be careful.

"Dammit Paige." Piper tried calling her back, but her calls went straight to voicemail. "Jesse Trumball. Is he anyone special?"

"I can get an address. Is he our killer?" Ian was familiar with him, kid was in and out of juvie for half his life.

"I don't know. Gabe, will you be okay by yourself?" Piper didn't know exactly what was going on. "Phoebe?" Phoebe was using her crystal and a city map looking for Paige

"Only if Ian comes with me." He looked at Ian's incredulous expression. "You need an expert. No offense but your cuffs and gun won't stop this thing."

"Fine." With the amount of death and destruction these last few days, Ian needed a reliable witness. "Make this fast, I don't want to see any more deaths." Ian counted close to a hundred today alone. The freeway accident, the mall collapse, the theatre shooting, not to mention the weird deaths around town.

"It ends tonight." Piper swore. She was going to wring Paige's neck for keeping something this big away.

"We'll kill Paige later." Phoebe didn't know why she didn't get any visions. She only got one when Piper called. "We have to leave now." Her pointer was all over the place.

"Where?"

"Pacific Heights." Piper had Paige on speaker when she called. "We could start there."

"I have my patrol car. Let's go." Luckily the police station was on their way. "I'll drop you two off, but you're on your own after this." Ian hoped the killings stopped today.

"Won't be the first time I hot-wired a car." Sam and Dean showed Piper how, they told her it was necessary as a hunter. "Let's go."

Henry shut off the van. The coordinates led him to an abandoned bowling alley.

"Very isolated. Here no one would guess this was the killer's hideout." This neighbourhood was in a rough part of town. Henry was about to call Diana when he heard screams. "Shit." That was Mindy, Henry was sure of it. He immediately opens his van door and falls to the ground forgetting he couldn't use his legs. "Dammit!" He forgot he couldn't walk. "Hang on!" He'll crawl to save that girl. Just when he was about to climb inside to get back to grab his chair, he was blinded by bright lights.

Paige's heart was beating fast as she drove down the freeway. She followed the call, but for some reason, the call got fainter the closer she got to her unknown destination. Seeing a van on the road, Paige for some reason followed it. Unfortunately, she lost it once a toll bridge went up, and Paige was forced to wait.

"C'mon!" Paige yelled. She beeped the horn. As tempting as it was orb, there were too many witnesses. "Deep breaths Paige. Your innocent is okay." She had a feeling. "Finally!" She waited till the bridge went back down before driving over it. "I'm coming!" A future whitelighter? A witch? Paige didn't know. She hoped it wasn't too late.

Paige couldn't believe her eyes twenty minutes later. No way was he her innocent. Henry Mitchell was lying beside his van.

"Officer Mitchell? Oh god. Hang on." She jumps out of the Ferrari. "You okay?! You need me to call a bus?" Was he hurt? Paige hoped the oni didn't hurt him too much.

Henry blinked seeing Paige. What was she doing here? Did Diana send her?

"Not me." He pointed towards the empty building. "Mindy, save her." He allowed Paige to help him up. "Thanks." He tried not to feel embarrassed. "She's in danger."

"Okay. I'll save her. Please hide." Once Paige helped him back in his van, she told him to get down. "This will get very ugly." Paige needed her sisters for this. Henry, Paige didn't know why he was here but didn't ask.

"Gotcha." Henry thought about Diana and her worry about monsters attacking this town. This Paige woman was most likely a specialist. "Be careful." Henry, looking at Paige's eyes, knew she had to be okay, for his sake.

"I swear." Paige couldn't help but notice how cute he was. He had such a kind smile.

"Good luck." Henry smiles back at Paige. Hearing another scream, the spell was immediately broken. "Hurry." He needed to call for backup, Paige couldn't fight this thing alone. He gave her a silent prayer when she rushed off, she needed all the help she could get. He laid down on the front seats, but not before calling his partner. "Ballard, I need backup." He gave her his coordinates. "How many? Bring the army if you have to."

"Piper, Phoebe. I'm at a place called Hawthorne's Bowling. I'll come to get ya, just find somewhere private." She needed to orb, wherever they were, their mode of transportation would be too slow.

Mindy was crying seeing Dalton peeling off human skin and eating it from someone's head. Vomit was all over her clothes, the smell of death was everywhere.

"Was any of it real?" She thought about her husband. Lester wasn't the best husband, but at least he wasn't a monster. She prayed for forgiveness.

"Is anything?" Dalton thought about his late father. "My father was a pureblood. He was searching for answers to figure out the meaning of life until a hunter murdered him." Try as he might, Dalton couldn't figure out who was Tora's murderer. "Paris. Beautiful city. I went there hearing his calls, unfortunately, I found nothing." Dalton always wondered what kind of man he was, the only thing he had was a picture. His cane, or his disguised kanabo was Tora's last gift to him. Taking off his hat, he grimaced hearing Mindy's screams. "If you don't be quiet, I'll cut out that tongue of yours." Dalton's horns were getting bigger, soon he'd be a full-blooded oni.

Mindy whimpered. She prayed hard, swearing to be a faithful wife from now on.

"My brothers, they'll be here soon." He couldn't do as Tora asked, have all three one big happy family. There was something bigger out there. "Don't be afraid. Once you pass through the Demon Gate, you'll be like me. What you'll see, you won't miss your old life. Our offspring, they'll be strong." Dalton needed a heart, one of his brothers would do. As for the other, he'd be a good sacrifice once Dalton killed him by stabbing him in the eye and draining his blood. Seeing a bright light Dalton couldn't help but smile.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" A whitelighter and two witches? This would be fun.

Paige felt sick seeing the dead bodies. This freak must've been storing human bodies as food. She shuddered seeing a head with its skin peeled off.

"Hey!" Piper knew her powers wouldn't work, but she used her powers to try to subdue the monster. She wasn't surprised to see her magic bouncing harmlessly off his skin.

"Nice try. Us onis, we're invisible for a reason." He charged at Piper.

"Paige!"

"Got it. Random stuff lying around hit that monster!" While Dalton was busy slapping away, Phoebe uses the distraction to save Mindy.

"Don't, don't hurt me." She whimpered seeing the three women appearing out of nowhere.

"I'm sending you to a friend of mine." She had to make an amnesia spell to make Mindy forget about everything. But first, get her the hell out of here. She uses Coop's ring to make them both disappear in a pink light.

"Now Paige!" Piper uses her powers to knock the oni's weapon away once it was knocked out of his belt buckle.

"Evil weapon!" Paige holds out her hand, the kanabo appearing in it.

Dalton swore when his kanabo vanished. He was so distracted by the things thrown at him, that he realized Mindy and his weapon were gone.

"Bitch! You'll pay!" He dove towards Paige. He didn't care about Mindy, she was weak anyway. He needed a mate, too bad the whitelighter wasn't a suitable candidate. However, her fellow witch would be better.

Paige jumps out of the way before he can grab her.

"Piper!"

"Yeah." Onis were incredibly fast and agile, Piper knew they had to work fast. Where was that kanabo? Paige was lucky Piper was wearing her potion, otherwise he could read her mind. She uses her powers to blow up a chair that was lying on its side. "Paige! Get the hell out of here!" They only needed one person to kill the oni, all three agreed Piper was the best candidate to do it.

"Excuse me." Paige leaves, but not before sending the broken chair pieces towards his face. "Chair pieces hit his eyes!" She throws the weapon at Piper before disappearing.

Dalton screamed as he was getting blinded. Seeing an opening, Piper takes the kanabo and stabs him in the middle of his forehead.

"Eat this you son of a bitch!" Piper's heart was beating fast, she knew she only had seconds before he got his bearings together. Getting blinded was merely an inconvenience to onis, they used their minds to see. She leapt out of the way as soon as she stabbed him, she didn't want to get grabbed.

"Argh! My eye!" Dalton tried unsuccessfully to pull the wood out but knew it was too late. "I'm sorry father. I failed." It was now up to his brothers to finish the ritual. He falls backwards, his dead body twitching violently before landing still.

"Paige! Phoebe! You can come back now!" Piper's nerves were on edge.

Both sisters appear in a pink/white combo.

"Piper! Oh my god." Phoebe rushes up to her. "You okay?" Poor Piper was trembling hard.

"I'm. I'm fine." Piper's teeth were chattering hard. She never felt so scared in her life.

"I gotta call this in." She and her sisters needed to get rid of the body, god knows if onis were still alive after death. Just as she dialed, she remembered Henry outside waiting in his van. "Oh, crap! Henry."

"Henry? Who's Henry?" Phoebe knelt to make sure he was dead, never could be too careful.

"A detective. Dammit." Paige hoped he didn't ask questions. "Mind cleaning this up for me, thanks."

"Really...Pai...ge?" Piper was still shaken. She didn't know why she was so shaky.

"Deep breaths. Take it slow." Phoebe had never seen her sister like this.

"Ye..a." Piper forced herself to calm down. After a few seconds, she shook her head. "I'm...good now." The adrenaline was wearing off.

"You sure?"

"Yes." Piper closed her eyes thinking about Mel. "We can't stay here." Piper heard sirens in the distance.

"Let's get outta here. Paige can find her way home." Phoebe uses Coop's ring to send the oni's body to an active volcano somewhere. "Let's get outta here before anyone asks questions." As far as anyone knew they were still across the country. They leave just as the police show up.

"What are you going to tell everyone?" Henry heard loud noises and banging earlier, plus some yells. As curious as he was, he wasn't foolish to interfere. He already had a story ready, that he was here to get information on Mrs Morris' lover. He hoped Paige was alright, already he was very protective of her.

"That I following a suspect." That was the truth. Hearing her fellow officers pulling up, she and Henry agreed to stick to their stories.

Paige and Henry told their fellow cops about how things went down. Since Henry wasn't on the force anymore, he simply said he followed Mrs Morris' lover to his home, hoping to catch him and Mrs Morris in a compromising position. He said he fell asleep on the job when he saw the guy alone, especially after Henry realized he forgot to charge his cell, plus check his faulty gas gauge.

"Mrs Morris, she must have been dropped off somewhere. I couldn't catch up to that fine car, they were speeding fast." That was true at least. "I got lucky when I saw the same car driving by me half an hour later." He looked over at Paige getting interviewed by Inspector Davidson.

"So, this guy? What happened here?" The old building was full of cops, they were shocked at what they found inside.

"I came here on a hunch. I've been doing my investigation, trying to figure out a pattern." She left out Gabe's name, she didn't want him getting into trouble. "That bus accident, I interviewed a witness who said a man was seen walking out of a bus with no issue, smiling cheerfully at nothing." This oni, Paige remembered reading a passage in the Book that onis thrived on death and destruction.

"You got a name?" Davidson asked. When Paige pointed at Henry, Davidson nodded.

"He works out, doctor's orders." Paige smiled shyly in Henry's direction, Henry must've known she was looking at him, he smiled back.

"I found it weird that he was smiling while everyone else was scared and crying." Henry was telling another cop what he saw back at the bus accident. "I don't know." The cop talking to him asked him if he knew his name. "I was too busy trying to save the ones that weren't killed immediately at the accident. But being in the chair, I was severely limited on what I could do." Henry looked disgustingly at his legs. "I did take video, and pictures for the investigation. I used to be a detective." Henry looked over at Paige. He knew at that moment Paige was very special. Seeing his former partner pulling up, he excused himself. "Can you give me a minute?"

Lieutenant Ballard couldn't believe what she just saw. What happened here? Seeing Henry waving to her, she demanded an explanation as soon as she walked over.

"Mitchell. What's going on? The killer, where is he?"

"Gone." Henry didn't know what happened there, but he knew without a doubt Paige took care of things. "I doubt we'll see anything like that again."

Diana looked over at the patrolwoman Officer Matthews talking to her boss. Inspector Davidson's face looked serious, but Diana could tell he was impressed by his employee.

"Looks like we'll see a new detective soon." It won't be easy, getting to detective took time and hard work. But she had a feeling Matthews would be on a fast track to a promotion.

"Believe me, she deserves it." Henry had a lot to tell Diana. Whoever or whatever that guy was, he was going to send flowers to Paige as a thank you.

"I saw him driving a Lamborghini, which raised suspicions. When I watched the security footage Mitchell gave me earlier, he was on a bus. Then an hour later was standing at a freeway watching a car crash." The car she pulled the little kid through, she took the camera that fell out of the car. "I sent the camera to CSI, they are currently looking for anything unusual. However, they sent me a description, the person at the freeway is believed to be him."

"Is he a terrorist?" Davidson already talked to the FBI, they were called in by the Mayor of the City. An Agent Fallon was interested in talking to Paige, plus anyone that saw that came across this person.

"I don't know sir. All I know is he is a suspected serial killer." Paige saw the headless body of the Lamborghini owner lying in the building, plus countless others. "Whoever he was, he was gone as soon as I got there." Paige doubted there were cameras in that building, but she double-checked, just in case. She hoped no DNA of her sisters was inside, but even if there was, they had rock-solid alibis. As far as anyone knew they were still living in the Midwest.

"And the woman?" She was seen at the restaurant with the suspect earlier.

"I didn't see anyone, sir. There was no one in the building, except for the victim." Paige hoped Phoebe finished the amnesia potion.

"Good job Matthews." Davidson tells Paige. "Take the rest of the night off, we'll take over now." Before she walked away she overheard Davidson talking to another cop. "Just like Jersey twenty years ago. Same events happened over there."

"I'll get started on the papers tomorrow Sir." New Jersey? Twenty years? Paige had to look this up.

"Consider yourself lucky Mitchell." Diana realized how much danger her friend put himself in. "There are limits on what you can do, and I don't mean the chair."

"I know. But Diana. Imagine what else is out there! We could solve more complex cases!"

"Shh." Diana looked around to make sure no one was listening. Thankfully almost everyone was looking around the building. "Believe me, there are some things we shouldn't mess with. Leave it to the experts." She thought about The Winchesters. Hell of a coincidence Sam was married to Paige's sister.

"Who Matthews? Don't worry, I won't interfere. But what about ghosts? Leprechauns? Vampires? It's better than following cheaters." Speaking of, where was Mindy? Henry forgot all about her. "Shit. I have to call back Mr Morris. He wants proof about his cheating wife."

"I'd recommend you stick to what you know." Diana warned. Henry could have been killed. "Go home, we'll take it from here."

"Have a good night Diana." Henry was wired, no way was he going home to sleep. When he felt something jump on his lap, he jumped. "Ah! Oh, how did you get here?" The black cat he was feeding earlier was purring on his lap. "I must've left the windows open on the van. Hungry? Me too." It's been a long night. "I still can't let you stay, but I'll see if I can find your owners."

"Purr. Purr." The cat curled in a ball.

"Damn, you're making this hard." Henry was tempted to keep this cat, this cat was adorable. "Just for tonight. I don't want to get any trouble from the landlord." Henry waves to Paige as he drives away.

Paige blushes as Henry drives by, he was waving goodbye.

"Guess it's time for me to go as well." Paige was tempted to orb but didn't want to draw attention to herself. Plus return the Ferrari to the owner before he reported it stolen. She gets in the car and drives away.

"What do you want to do with her?" Piper was watching Mindy who was in a deep sleep. "We can't leave her here."

"I can place her in a motel room, I can glamour as her, check in, then send Paige to put her in bed. The potion isn't very strong, it is just enough to erase what happened after she left the restaurant with the oni." Luckily she was still dressed up. "Her hair and makeup are messy, she'll probably think she fell asleep after getting dumped." Seeing white lights, both women look up.

"Well?" Piper hoped Paige didn't get in trouble with the cops.

"So far so good." Paige hoped Davidson bought her story. "They'll be busy for a long time, supposedly something like this happened over twenty years ago in New Jersey. Same M.O., weird accidents, murders, destruction, it was just as bad as here." Paige looked it up after she returned the Ferrari. Surprisingly the owner was still in the area. He told Paige the police department owed him for gas and mileage. Paige walked to a Starbucks afterwards and used a computer to look up crimes in New Jersey twenty-odd years ago. "Plus something else. There were reports of an assault. A woman was attacked in her home, she says her attacker was wearing a bowler's hat. She died nine months later giving birth to her attacker's baby."

"God." Phoebe felt sick. She read the part about onis wanting to spread their seeds, not caring about the mother.

"Did he attack anyone else?" Piper shuddered at the thought that she or her sisters being targets.

"There were two more. Both were in California a few years after New Jersey. One was alone at her job, another was kidnapped. Neither survived the birth."

"Great. That means there are two more freaks out there." One was hard enough, but two? Piper was holding the kanabo, she took it with her once Phoebe took them back to the Manor.

"We'll get them. We know how to fight now."

"Not until your baby is born." Paige looked up at the timelines. "Both onis are not eighteen yet. They'll be easy pickings." An oni-hybrid was easier to fight than a full-blown oni.

"Fine." Piper didn't like the thought of killing a teenager, especially one that was half-human, but none of them could risk letting them live.

Phoebe yawned.

"That's a sign telling us we have to go home." Piper hated leaving her sister, poor Paige looked disappointed they were leaving again.

"So soon?" Paige was hoping they'd stay for a late-night pizza at least.

"We'll come visit next time before I get too big to travel." Phoebe's pregnancy was now showing, Phoebe's daughter was due next spring. Both she and Piper hug Paige goodbye.

"Come to dinner sometime, I'll make your favourites, you too Pheebs. I'll make Coop's favourite dessert. Whatever it is. Just tell me when."

"Chocolate mousse. He isn't very picky." Phoebe felt awful they were leaving Paige by herself.

"Don't worry I'll be fine. Really." Paige knew she'd be busy anyway, she was determined to get that detective position by next year, hopefully. Thinking about Henry, she wondered if he was available. "I'll come by soon, I'll bring wine, plus cider for you Phoebe." She yawned. "Goodnight." It was after midnight, poor Phoebe was three hours ahead in Connecticut, hopefully, she wasn't on call at the hospital where she was interning.

"Bye." Piper and Phoebe use Coop's ring to go home.

Paige was starving, all she had at Starbucks was a large coffee.

"Good thing Bang's Pizza is still open." She picked up her phone.

Paige yawned as she crawled into bed two hours later. She was stuffed from the large stuffed crust pepperoni special.

"Time for sleep." She had an afternoon shift at least. Before she fell asleep, she hoped Gabe and Ian found what they were looking for.

Gabe gives Jesse a cool look. The teenager was glaring at Gabe.

"You're lucky I'm tied up." Jesse was growling, his horns were starting to sprout. "Otherwise I'll would take you apart, piece by piece."

"Uh-huh." Gabe was so glad he managed to save his two buddies, Jesse almost beaten them to death till he was interrupted by Gabe. Thankfully his human side wasn't immune to electricity, Gabe used a Taser to subdue him. Sadly it was too late to save Jesse's adoptive father, he was found dead with a large knife in his chest in their home. "Trust me, it won't get any better, the bloodlust will consume you alive." Gabe shoots Jesse in the forehead, his hidden eye exploding from the bullet.

"Ugh. Wasn't there any other way?" Ian would normally stay out of these kinds of matters, but he needed to see things through. "Prison could have kept him locked up for life."

"He isn't human, not anymore. Oni's always answer their calls, it's in their blood." Gabe wasn't sadistic, he never hunted unless necessary. He met a few monsters who were good people. "Whoever called him, he needed Jesse to complete his ritual."

"And that is..."

"Wish I knew." Gabe thought Dalton wanted to reunite the brothers, be a happy murderous family, but what Gabe saw in that building, knew it was much more. "All that death and destruction, he must've done all that to get Jesse's attention." He turned away from Jesse's dead body. "Onis kill to call their kin. The more destructive, the better." He puts away his gun. There was the matter of his younger half-brother, but Gabe wasn't worried about him.

"Burn the corpse, I'll make it look like Jesse is in the wind." Ian hoped this was the last time he was involved in something like this.

"Thanks officer." Just as Gabe was about to cut off Jesse's head, a black cat runs in once Ian opens the door.

"Is he yours?" Ian kept the door open to let the cat through.

"Kinda." Gabe bent down to pet the cat. "He's a obake, a protector of humans. He guards humans against evil, especially onis."

"Obake?"

"Witches have familiars, hunters have obakes. Brought him straight from Japan."

Ian didn't say anything else, he merely closed the door after he left.

"You protect the detective?" The cat meowed. "Good boy." Gabe sent his cat to protect Henry, only because he was following Mindy who was dating Dalton. "I have someone else in mind, Sumiko Jones. She's young, she'd need someone to watch over her."

"Meow!"

"I know. But I'll be too busy, Henry, I'm sure he'll be a valuable asset to our team. She'll give you a better life, it wouldn't be fair for you to always be on the road."

The cat rubbed against his legs.

"I'll miss you too." Gabe shooed the cat away. "Go, I left you fresh fish."

"Purr!"

Gabe picks up his machete to cut off the monster's head.

An hour later, Gabe returns with a dirty shovel.

"A hunter's work is never done." He buried Jesse's ashes in a salted grave, leaving his head underneath a construction site somewhere. He needed a hot shower, but not before making a phone call.

Ring! Ring!

"Yea."

"It is done. Paige Matthews will be safe from now on."

"Good job." Click.

Gabe didn't blame him, Paige was special indeed. Shame he didn't ask her out back at the gallery.

"Oh well." Henry would be better for her anyway, unlike her sisters, she needed someone more stable in her life. Gabe puts down his phone and goes to take a shower.

"What do you mean you have nothing on Mindy! You know what! You're fired! Oh yeah, kiss my ass!" Lester slams down the phone. Bastard swore he sue for non-payment. "You're not the only guy out there." Just when he opened his phone for someone new, he tensed hearing his sliding door open. "Mindy?" He hated the bitch, she thought he could trade him in for a new boytoy. "Baby?" Seeing a young teenager walking in, he demanded what he wanted. "The hell? Who are you! I'm calling the police." Just as he dialed he gasped when the teenager grabbed his neck.

"Forgive me." Ryan forced himself to blank out his human side. "Unlike you, I care about the ones I love." Sumiko, his stepfather. He breaks Lester's neck.

"Good job." Zankou appears in a wave of fire.

"My family, will you promise they'll be safe?" Ryan was about to commit suicide to protect his girlfriend, he wasn't about to kill her, or his father, who admitted Ryan was a product of a violent attack by a robber sixteen years ago. Ryan shuddered at the thought of almost killing his stepfather. He forced himself to run away when he nearly beat him to death hearing the news. Ryan's whole life was a lie. He sighed. "Sumiko." She was the only thing worth living for.

"Only if you'll join the Academy. Trust me, the bloodlust will get worse and worse. You'll be responsible for the murders of hundreds of people, Sumiko included. We can suppress it, channel it for better use." Zankou recruited Ryan, unlike Jesse, Ryan was more stable.

"But I'm not human." Ryan looked down at his hands, his nails were now black claws. He had a headache from the bumps on his head.

"You'll become something greater, your oni side will be completely dead."

"And my human side?"

Zankou shrugs.

"It's up to you."

Ryan looks down at his hands, he was wearing Sumiko's friendship bracelet on his wrist. She gave it to him when they were kids.

"That Thing I saw, what is It?" Ryan woke up every day from cold sweats from his dreams.

"They call it The Beast."

"Like the bible?"

"Who knows?" Zankou was getting bored. "Come. It's time." They disappear in flames.

Sumiko cried reading Ryan's letter. Ryan told her he was leaving for good, telling her to forget about him.

"Ryan." She held his letter, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Meow!" A black cat jumps in her bedroom window, purring at her feet.

"Lucky? The hell were you?" Lucky the cat was a stray she fed from time to time. He refused to move in with Sumiko, preferring to live outdoors. "Did you change your mind?"

"Purr." He licked her hands, purring in contentment.

"I could use the company." Her heart was broken over Ryan. Ryan's letter said he was a monster that needed to die, that he dreamed he wanted to see the world burning.

'Sumiko.

I'm sorry to leave you like this, but there is a reason I have to go. My dreams are getting worse, not better. From what I saw, you deserve much better. The world was on fire, and I was enjoying seeing the pain of everyone getting burned. Even you. I'm sorry about yelling at you earlier, I know how passionate you are about being a world-famous blogger. Don't come looking for me, I'm long gone. I doubt I'll ever be back, you deserve better than me. Goodbye Sumiko, I've tell you I love you, but it's better if you leave me in your past. Have a good long life, I'm sure your blog will be popular all around the world someday.

Ryan.'

"Goodbye Ryan." She put the letter down, she saw the dried tears on the paper. Wherever Ryan was, Sumiko wanted the best for him. Hearing Lucky meow, she petted the black cat.

"Your eye. Were you injured by another cat? Poor thing."

Lucky/Shadow lost its eye to Tora twenty years ago, it was under orders to protect his last owner, the retired hunter Roy Dempsey. He and Roy got decently along, he appeared one day meowing on his doorstep after his wife and son were killed by ghouls. Roy adopted the cat because he was feeling suicidal, he considered the cat a sign that he was meant to live. They lived together for five years, the Obake, named Shadow by Roy kept him safe by keeping monsters away at his door.

Shadow did his best to protect Roy, leaving clues on how to protect himself, by bringing home a holly leaf, plus a letter saying holly was used in spells to keep onis away. Roy was understandably skeptical but planted holly plants anyway just in case. When the events in New Jersey started happening, Roy came out of retirement to hunt the mysterious monster that plagued the small town. Sadly he was killed by Tora, but not before Shadow managed to injure Tora by weakening his powers.

"You obakes don't mind your own business." He threw his kanabo at Shadow, taking out his left eye. Shadow didn't flinch, he hissed at the oni, slowly transforming into its true form, a ghost of warriors past. Tora, knowing how invisible obakes were without a physical form takes off running.

Shadow stayed behind to mourn Roy's death, he was the only family Roy had.

"Meow." The cat curled up beside his body, he needed to protect Roy from ghouls. He stayed with Roy until his body was discovered. A few days after his funeral, Shadow returned to Japan to wait for his next charge. He agreed to work with Gabe Pintor, only because the oni's three offsprings were getting ready to mature.

"Meow!" Lucky got up to stretch. Sumiko wasn't a hunter, but Lucky didn't mind. He was going to take Roy's advice and retire, becoming another ordinary house cat. "Purr!"

Sumiko sighed. Feeling her cat rubbing against her face, she smiled.

"I know." She wished Ryan well, wherever he was. "Did you eat?" Hearing him purr, she smiled. "Tomorrow I'll pick up some litter as well as a cat tower. You're getting spoiled."

"Purr!" Lucky curled in a ball, he knew his job was done. The three offspring were dead, he didn't sense them anymore.

Bobby couldn't believe what he saw once he opened the door. Sam, Dean, looked just like him. Animated.

"Did I enter in a Japanese cartoon or something?" Bobby couldn't believe what he looked like. He looked nothing like his real self, even animated. What was with the fedora? And his hair? "Plus my weight." Bobby indulged occasionally, however, his animated counterpart indulged a lot more. He needed to lose a lot of weight.

"Dean" laughs at Bobby's expression.

"What's wrong Bobby? You hit your head or something?" His voice sounded different from Dean's real voice.

"Bobby! You're probably starving! Have some food!" Sam gestures to the coffee table.

Sam sounded like Sam at least.

"Yeah." Bobby wondered what the hell was going on, he was sure he was in a dream. "Or entered another dimension." Bobby cautiously takes a bite, surprised at how real the pizza tasted.

"Sam, we gotta see Missouri, she told me she found out something about Dad."

"Dean, Dad's dead. What else can he do?"

Bobby looked back and forth at the two boys. Based on how they were "drawn," probably still in their early twenties.

'Sam, Dean, I hope you are okay.' These may not be his boys, but he smiled at their bickering. He looked up, praying his Sam and Dean were okay in the real world.
