Mother
"Oh, Sesshomaru-dono, come home. Oh, Sesshomaru-sama!" howled a small dog with a wrinkled muzzle, falling to his knees. "Your mother said she would bite my head off if I didn't bring you this time."
Sesshomaru passed by. His face remained arrogant, and the furry tail ran over the demon's head, humiliating him even more than his worship.
Inuyasha walked, looking around curiously: as soon as this guy appeared, Sesshomaru immediately grabbed the boy by the ear and pushed him forward. Apparently, the older brother was afraid that the demon would bite Inuyasha when it chased them.
"Oh, Sesshomaru-dono! Oh, Sesshomaru-sama!" the demon continued whining.
"I thought you had worn out your knees previous time."
"Have mercy, master! Mother will accept you... of course, if you leave this degenerate. Unbecoming for a demon like you..."
"Hey! You're a degenerate yourself!" Inuyasha interrupted, despite another push to his back. The boy's eyebrows formed into an offended tick. "I'm actually his brother!"
Then Sesshomaru looked down at him, not at all angry. On the contrary, a spark seemed to flare up in the depths of his eyes.
"Indeed, Inoki. If he is my brother, and you called him a degenerate, that means I..."
"Oh, forgive me, master!" the demon ducked between the snowy bushes and finally found himself in front of Inuyasha, blocking the road. "I'm just relaying your mother's message... in the same words, Sesshomaru-dono. I'm afraid she won't accept your brother, the great Inuyasha-sama, into the family, but she will accept you back if..."
"Great Inuyasha-sama?" the ears immediately perked up.
Sesshomaru coldly answered: "I said no. This is how it was and how it will be. Come back and send me A-Un. At least you will be of some use."
Inoki whined pitifully, but didn't dare to argue anymore. He disappeared the same way he had appeared — in a faint purple cloud.
"Great Inuyasha-sama!" repeated the boy proudly. He obviously liked how Sesshomaru's minion put it.
"Don't get used to it," the brother said. And again, he allowed him to walk behind — now there was no need to be afraid of demons, because Sesshomaru felt them all.
They walked for several minutes in silence.
"So you have mom? Alive?" Inuyasha dared, and his voice sounded surprised and delighted at the same time. "Why aren't you together? I would…"
Then the boy suddenly stopped and fell silent — maybe he understood something, or maybe the tears started flowing again. Sesshomaru didn't turn around. Several months had already passed since Izayoi's death — it was time to let her go, but Inuyasha couldn't.
"It's none of your business. Don't talk about my mother and never talk to her if you meet her. It is forbidden."
