Episode 378: The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon
Another week has come and gone as Sora, Roxas, Brendan, Chase, Elaine, Trace, Wes, and Michael were training for the Pokémon Stadium Cup finals with one more week remaining. Each one of them have sharped their skills. As they all took a break, they all received a notification on their Rotom Phones.
"What's this?" Sora asked.
They weren't the only ones. Kairi, Riku, Namine, Xion, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, and May were also getting the same notification.
"What's this here?" Ash asked.
As it turns out, they all received the same email from someone named Dr. Yung.
Sora read his message on the email
Dear Sora Ketchum,
Because of your amazing Pokémon training skills, I'd like to introduce and challenge you to my brand new battle system. Please, come to my lab at your earliest convienence.
Signed,
Dr. Yung
"A new battle system? What could it be?" Sora asked.
"We all got the same email," Brendan said.
"I wonder if any of the others got it, too," Trace said.
"Very likely," Roxas said.
"What could it be? What could it be what he want to show us?" Wes asked.
"Maybe, we could find out when we see it," Sora said.
"I'm with him. It could be just about anything," Michael said.
The group gathered around to discuss the email they received. Even Professor Oak was invited as well.
"So, who exactly is Dr. Yung, professor?" Leaf asked.
"Dr. Yung is one of my former students. It has been years since I have seen him, and I share your curiosity about what he has in store for us," Professor Oak said.
"According to the email, his lab isn't too far away from here, so it should work out for us," Ethan said.
"The address is on there and everything," Chase said.
"Let's go have a look for ourselves," Sora said.
"I agree. Let's go," Professor Oak said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Wes, Rui, Michael, Trace, Professor Oak, Rei, Ryuko, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, Marill, Volt, and Maple are making their way to Dr. Yung's lab. Upon arriving, they saw it 's a small castle in front of a massive lake.
"Now, that's a lab," Brendan said.
"I never seen a castle lab before," May said.
"Maybe a lab in a castle, but this is something else," Roxas said.
"What are those things there?" Ventus asked, noticing some devices on the floor.
"Must be for some outdoor lighting," Riku said.
The group have arrived to the courtyard as their host walked out. He is a light teal haired man, with dark purple eyes. He wears a pair of round spectacles, a yellow sweater, a white lab coat, gray trousers, and brown shoes.
"My dear guests. I've been waiting for you. ai welcome you to my laboratory," Dr. Yung greeted.
"Well, Dr. Yung, it's been a long time," Professor Oak said.
"You're the one who sent us the email, aren't you? I'm Sora," Sora introduced.
"My name's Kairi," Kairi introduced.
I'm Riku."
"I'm Naminé."
"My name's Roxas."
"I'm Xion."
"I'm Wes."
"I'm Rui."
"My name's Michael."
"My name's Ash."
"I'm Leaf."
"I'm Chase."
"My name's Elaine."
"The name's Trace."
"I'm Ethan."
"My name's Kris."
"I'm Lyra."
"My name's Brendan."
"I'm May."
"I'm Karen."
"I'm Terra."
"My name's Aqua."
"I'm Ventus."
"I'm Ryuko."
"And I'm Rei Sakura."
"The pleasure is all mine. Yes, Oak, it's been too long. My name's Dr. Yung," Dr. Yung introduced.
"Dr. Yung, what's the new battling system you developed?" Sora asked.
"Yeah, when can we see it?" Ash asked.
"Actually, you're all standing inside it," Dr. Yung said. The confuses everyone. "It's true. Let me show you." Dr. Yung takes out a device and he activates the devices on the ground. They were all glowing simultaneously. Everyone were amazed by what they were seeing.
"The ground is glowing," Ryuko said.
"It looks like a mirage field," Professor Oak said.
"Yes. And inside, they all live and move around freely," Dr. Yung said, pushing on his device. The Mirage System generates Pokémon from the inside. The Pokémon seen are Kabutops, Omastar, Armaldo, Hisuian Arcanine, Hisuian Electrode, Sneasler, Overqwil, Ursaluna, and Kleavor.
"Do you see what I see?" Leaf asked.
"A Kabutops, an Omastar," Kris said.
"And an Armaldo, too," Lyra said.
"An Arcanine and an Electrode, but in Hisuian form," Ash said.
"An Ursaluna," Ethan said.
"A Kleavor," Riku said.
"Not to mention, a Sneasler and an Overqwil," Kairi said.
"So, these are Mirage Pokémon," Rei said.
"Does that mean your Mirage System is now complete?" Professor Oak asked.
"Correct, old friend," Dr. Yung said, displaying a grid on his device. "Take a look at this grid. My system can create any Pokémon. Complete with voice, intelligence, and bodies; all based upon their Pokémon data. Their from the mirage field, thus the name Mirage Pokémon."
"They look so real," Karen said.
"Yeah, I'm having a hard time telling them apart," Rui said. Ventus feels Omastar's horn to feel.
"Whoa! They are real!" Ventus said.
"That's right, Ventus. I can create any Pokémon. That includes extinct and rare Pokémon. You can name it, because the possibilities are endless. The field on Pokémonology is on the threshold of a quantum leap in understanding, but I digress," Dr, Yung said. Professor Oak's face screams concern. The Mirage Pokémon vanished and an Aggron appeared before them.
"An Aggron," Michael said.
"Now, which one of you would like to challenge my Mirage Pokémon?" Dr. Yung asked.
"How about we draw straws? I mean, we did come here for that, so whoever draws the red one gets to go first," Roxas said, taking out some straws in a cup.
"Okay, everyone, draw," Riku said.
Everyone does so as it turns out to be Riku who gets the honors.
"Looks like Riku's it," Wes said.
"Sure looks that way. I'll have a go," Riku said.
"Very well. Let's move to the battlefield," Dr. Yung said, leading his guests to the battlefield.
Unknown to them, Loki was close by and he was listening in on them.
"Mirage Pokémon, eh? This is interesting. I think the bosses would love to know about this," Loki said. He made contact with Count Ernesh's mansion. Count Ernesh himself as retrieved the transmission from Loki.
"Report, Loki," Count Ernesh said.
"I managed to stumble on to Sora Ketchum and the other Guardians of Kingdom Hearts. They're at Dr. Yung's castle lab in Fennel Valley. They just witnessed something the doc calls 'Mirage Pokémon. He can be able to create Pokémon with a simple push of a button," Loki reported.
"So, the doctor is making his move after all. With the Guardians of Kingdom Hearts involved, it should prove intriguing. Keep and eye on them and report what else you can learn about this," Count Ernesh said.
"You can count on me, Count," Loki said with a pun.
If you're wondering how Count Ernesh knows about Loki being out, let's just say, Loki has a sense about these sort of things. Anyway, the group is over to the battlefield, prepared for the first battle.
"Now, as we agree, each one of us will be using one Pokémon each," Dr. Yung said.
"Fine with me, Dr. Yung," Riku said. He took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Come on out, Golduck!" His Pokéball opened and his Golduck emerged from inside, ready to go.
"I'm such a gracious host, so you will have the pleasure of going first," Dr. Yung said.
"Thanks. Golduck! Use Water Pulse!" Riku ordered. Golduck unleashed a Water Pulse and sent it right at Aggron. It scored a direct hit. Everyone were stunned to see Aggron just took it like it was nothing. "Aggron just took that?!"
"Use Sandstorm!" Dr. Yung ordered. Aggron whips up a Sandstorm.
"Dodge it!" Riku called out. Golduck tried to dodge, but the Duck Pokémon was struck on the mark.
"Look at that. I know it's a Mirage Pokémon, but that Aggron is strong," Brendan said.
"It goes to show Mirage Pokémon are no joke," Terra said.
"Pikachu," Thor said.
Pikachu turned to his left and he saw what looks like a Mew watching by the walls. Realizing it was spotted, Mew fled.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked.
"Okay, Golduck! Use Hydro Pump!" Riku ordered. Golduck fired Hydro Pump at Aggron.
"Okay, Aggron! Thunder Wave!" Dr. Yung ordered. Aggron sends out static electricity at Golduck, paralyzing it.
"Golduck, no!" Riku gasped.
"Stay tough, Golduck!" Naminé called out.
"Time to finish it up! Bullet Seed!" Dr. Yung ordered. Aggron fired Bullet Seed, hitting Golduck and earning a knockout, much to Riku's dismay. Riku had lost. He called back his Golduck back.
"You did your best, Golduck. You earned a good rest," Riku said. He looked at Aggron. "How did Aggron do that?"
"How did that happen? Aggron can't use Bullet Seed," Michael pointed out.
"But you're forgetting that my Aggron is a Mirage Pokémon. And by manipulating the input data, I can easily change the attack and type," Dr. Yung said.
"I get it. Your opponent would never know what move you'll make," Ethan said.
"That's impressive," Wes said.
"Sora, would you like the honors of battling against my Mirage Pokémon?" Dr. Yung asked.
"Sure, I'll crack at it," Sora said.
"A wonderful answer," Dr. Yung said.
"Okay, Pikachu! Let's go!" Sora said as Pikachu charges in.
"Let's show them what you can do, Aggron!" Dr. Yung said. Aggron charges at the Mouse Pokémon and then stopped, giving off glitches. Pikachu was confused.
"What's wrong?" Sora asked.
"Why is Aggron glitching?" Kairi asked.
"Dr. Yung, what's wrong?" Professor Oak asked.
"I-I don't know! I just lost control!" Dr. Yung said, trying to regain control when his device explodes in hand. Aggron then disappeared. Professor Oak rushes over to Dr. Yung.
"Are you alright, Yung?" Professor Oak asked.
"I think so," Dr. Yung said. The Mirage System then activate on its own as Mirage Hisuian Arcanine, Sneasler, Kabutops, Omastar, Armaldo, and two Aerodactyl suddenly appeared.
"Aren't those Dr. Yung's Mirage Pokémon?" May asked.
"Those Aerodactyl weren't there before!" Chase exclaimed.
"Pika!" Volt said.
"But how? The controller's broken! How can this be?" Dr. Yung asked. Sinister laughter is heard as they saw a man wearing an iron mask. He wore a plume hat, and a dark cape.
"Dear Dr. Yung, your precious Mirage System is now under new orders!" The dark figure said.
"Who are you?" Chase asked.
"You may call me Mirage Master," Mirage Master announced.
"Mirage Master?" Elaine asked.
"Sounds like this guy got his name from a comic book," Karen said.
"What are you doing here?" Professor Oak asked.
"And what in the name of science do you want with my Mirage System?" Dr. Yung asked.
"What do you think? Get them!" Mirage Master ordered. The Mirage Pokémon went after them.
"Wd can't fight them off! Hurry, doctor!" Professor Oak said. The Aerodactyl flew faster.
"Thunderbolt, Pikachu!" Sora ordered.
"Eevee! Shadow Ball!" Eevee ordered.
Pikachu and Eevee fired their attacks at the two Aerodactyl, but they dodged. One of the Aerodactyl snatched Dr. Yung.
"Help me!" Dr. Yung exclaimed.
"Dr. Yung!" Professor Oak exclaimed.
"Professor there's nothing we can do right now! We have to escape while we can!" Rei said.
"I agree. There's no other choice. We must run!" Professor Oak said.
"Right!" The rest of the group said as they ran.
"They must not be allowed to escape. Capture them!" Mirage Master commanded.
The Mirage Pokémon have begun their pursuit of the group.
"Our only hope is to make it outside! They won't be able to follow us outside!" Rei said.
"I just hope we make it outside before they catch up!" Trace said.
"Not so fast," Mirage Master said, giving a command by remote. Armaldo fired Shadow Ball, making Ryuko trip.
"Ryuko!" Ventus gasped, going back for her.
"Are you alright?" Professor Oak asked, helping Ryuko up.
"I think so," Ryuko said.
"Good. Now, go!" Professor Oak said, getting Ventus and Ryuko to safety. "All of you! Go!"
"Right!" The rest of the group said as they ran again.
"They're gaining on us!" Xion exclaimed.
"Just a little further! Don't stop for anything!" Rei said.
They all ran out the gate. The Mirage Pokémon all vanished as they went through the gate.
"We're safe," Brendan said.
"That was close," Namine said.
Professor Oak is right behind them, but the other Aerodactyl was right on his trail.
"Professor! Hurry!" Sora called out. Unfortunately, he wasn't fast enough to escape, so he was captured. "Professor Oak!"
"No!" Karen gasped.
"You put him down, this minute!" Leaf shouted.
They attempted to go after them, but Mirage Master uses the Mirage System to make more Mirage Pokémon. They knew he put the there as a way to keep them from getting back in.
"Enough! The time for child's play is over!" Mirage Master said, taking his leave. He laughed evilly. Sora clutched his fist and grits his teeth.
"Professor," Sora said.
"Don't worry, Sora. We'll get him out of there," Ash said.
"Mirage Master won't get away with this," Brendan said.
Professor Oak is brought to a room of the lab where Mirage Houndoom, Mightyena, Absol, Ursaring, Machoke, and Machamp surround Professor Oak.
"The famous Professor Oak. Welsome to Dr. Yung's research laboratory," Mirage Master said.
"What have you done with Dr. Yung, Mirage Master? Answer me!" Professor Oak demanded.
"You're in no positions to make demands. But I on the other hand, am," Mirage Master said. Professor Oak growled. "I want you to give me the access password to you laboratory database immediately."
"Password? What in the world would you want with my research data?" Professor Oak asked.
"Oh, I can put that data to very good use. Better than you could ever hoped," Mirage Master said.
"Forget it! I refuse to give any information to the likes of you, kidnapper!" Professor Oak said.
"I see," Mirage Master said as the Mirage Pokemon all growled. "You do sound quite certain of yourself, professor. I would prefer to do this peacefully. But if not..." Mew appeared while Mirage Master was talking.
"You don't scare me with your juvenile threats!" Professor Oak said. He takes out a Pokéball. Before he could throw it, the Mirage Mightyena growled to stop him. "Give it up! There is no Pokémon in existence that can resist the power of Mirage Pokémon. Now, give me that password!" Mirage Master demanded.
Outside the lab, the group were given no choice but to retreat and think of a plan of action.
"You think we should tell Officer Jenny?" Ryuko asked.
"She's right," Elaine agreed.
"She's gotta know about this," Karen said.
"Karen, I think you, Ven, Terra, Aqua, and Ryuko should go and tell her what's happening," Sora said.
"I agree. The rest of us will infiltrate Dr. Yung's lab and see if we can rescue them before the unthinkable happens," Rei said.
"What would Mirage Master want with Professor Oak, Master?" May asked.
"I don't know, but I have a feeling whatever Mirage Master is cooking up isn't good. And that gives us a reason to stop him," Rei said.
"The problem is how to get in. We were lucky to get out, but those Mirage Pokémon won't make things easy for us if we go right through the front door," Rui said.
"Agreed. We're gonna have to find another way in," Rei said.
"Also, we're too big a group. We have no idea how many Mirage Pokémon are in there, so we'll have to go in as a smaller group, just so we won't be spotted," Wes said.
"Then, we'll have to break it up in two groups. Some of you will have to go in by water, while some of you will have to go in by air. Everything that happens inside happens. Try your best to avoid unnecessary fights," Rei said.
"Okay," Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Wes, Rui, and Michael said.
"And be careful," Rei said.
"What will you be doing, Master?" Chase asked.
"I'll stay out here to make sure the eyes of those guards are off of you. And hope you make it out okay," Rei said.
Back in the lab...
"With my many experiences with Pokémon, I have found them to be weak and incomplete," Mirage Master said.
"What do you mean weak and incomplete?" Professor Oak asked.
"A Rock-type Pokémon like Onix is weak against Water-type attacks, while a Water-type Pokémon like Seaking is weak against Electric-type attacks," Mirage Master said. He holds up a controller similar to the one Dr. Yung was holding earlier. "If I use this device, I can create the perfect Pokémon; one that can stand up against any type of attack. And that would be truly be a thing of beauty, would it not?"
"You mean you to tell me, that is what you're planning to do?" Professor Oak, disgusted by Mirage Master's words. "I'll grant you that all Pokémon has their various strengths and weaknesses, but that is precisely what makes them unique, vibrant, and alive. Even between Pokémon of the same type, there are differences in their personalities and to destroy their individuality would be unthinkable! They're living creatures from Mother Nature. You could even say they represent nature, and you cannot do anything that can destroy that balance."
"Bravo, professor. A fascinating lecture on the essence of Pokémon. After hearing of my brilliant plan, you may have a change of heart," Mirage Master said, activating a machine.
"What? What is that?" Professor Oak asked.
Back outside, a team of Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Chase, Elaine, and Trace get in with the use of Water-type Pokémon while the team of Roxas, Xion, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes Rui, and Michael came in by air, thanks to Lugia and its Psychic and being careful not allowing the Mirage Pokémon to see them.
Over to Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Chase, Elaine, Trace, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Volt, and Maple made it in the basement.
"Looks like we're in," Sora said.
"That's good because I don't see a single soul anywhere," Leaf said.
"Guys, look," Trace said, pointing to the Mirage System on the floor.
"Dr. Yung put those everywhere," Chase said.
"Chu," Volt said.
"Everywherd in the whole castle. Mirage Pokémon could be popping out from anywhere at any second," Elaine said.
"Well, we better be careful, because Mirage Master isn't going to let us just walk in," Riku said.
"Riku's right. He has control over the Mirage System, so we gotta go and find Professor Oak and Dr. Yung, and get out of here," Ash said.
"Right," Sora, Kairi, and Naminé said as they agreed.
"Okay, everyone, remember what the Master said. Try to avoid any unnecessary fights. What happens beyond this point is beyond our control," Sora said.
"Mirage Pokémon aren't the only things we should be worrying about," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"That'll be the Heartless, Nobodies, and Unversed. We'll have to be ready for those, too," Naminé said.
They stepped out of the room and entered a corridor, unaware of the security camera watching them.
Professor Oak gasped when he saw them.
"Sora, Kairi, Ash, Chase, Trace, Elaine, Leaf!" Professor Oak gasped.
"Perfect timing. I knew it wouldn't be long until they mounted a rescue. Now, to give them a proper welcome," Mirage Master said, activating his controller. All of the Mirage Pokémon all vanish, except for Mew. Mirage Master was angered that Mew was with them and he didn't noticed until now. "No! Not you again!"
"Can it be? It is! It is Mew!" Professor Oak said. Mew smiled and hovered over to him. Professor Oak was at awe over seeing Mew despite being a Mirage Pokémon. "What a pleasure. Nice to meet you." Professor Oak's joy was cut short when Mew was hit by a stream of electricity. Mew fell to the ground, injured. It turns out Mirage Master has created a Mirage Magnemite. "No! Mew!" He turned to Mirage Master. "What do you think you're doing?"
"This is none of your concern, professor, that Pokémon is nothing but a flawed specimen. NOW, YOU GET OUT OF MY SIGHT, MEW! AT ONCE!" Mirage Master yelled. Not wanting to anger him, Mew took its leave.
Just when they were getting through, Mirage Pokémon appeared and surrounded the team.
"Mirage Pokémon!" Chase said.
"They spotted us!" Naminé said.
"How?" Trace asked. Kairi gasped when she saw the security camera.
"I know why! Look!" Kairi said, pointing the camera.
"Mirage Master Master knows we're here," Ash said.
"Guess we have no choice but to fight back against them," Riku said.
"Fraid so," Sora agreed. He turned to his partner. "Go get 'em, Pikachu!"
"Pika!" Pikachu said as he stepped in.
"Angel, you go, too!" Kairi said.
"Volt! Take them!" Chase said.
"You too, Maple!" Elaine said.
"Eevee, you join in!" Riku said.
Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Volt, and Maple joined in the fray.
"Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered.
"Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered.
The Mirage Pokémon overpowered easily, much to their dismay. "No!"
"Okay, that's it! Now, I'm mad! Jolteon! Come on-" Trace was cut off when the Mirage Machoke grabbed him. "Hey, let me go! I said let me go!"
"Trace!" Chase said.
Before he and Elaine could help him, the Mirage Ursaring grabbed them. The Mirage Machamp grabbed Sora, Kairi, and Riku as a Mirage Tangrowth appeared and grabbed Ash and Leaf. The Pokémon were grabbed by a Mirage Tentacruel. Houndoom gestures to them, telling them to return to Mirage Master. The Mirage Pokémon complied with it. Mew was too late, so it went after them.
"Pikachu, you gotta break free and warn the Master," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu nodded. Pikachu tried to use a Thunderbolt, but nothing happened.
"Don't give up! Keep trying," Sora said. Pikachu fired another Thunderbolt again and again.
Meanwhile, Roxas, Xion, Ethan. Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes Rui, Michael, Xipak, Celeste, and Marill were dealing with the Mirage Hisuian Arcanine, Kabutops, Omastar, Armaldo, and Sneasler. Like Sora and his squad, they were spotted by security cameras and he sent the Mirage Pokémon to deal with them.
"Man, these Mirage Pokémon are just plain tough," Ethan said.
"We can't give up! We gotta keep trying!" Roxas said.
"If we keep trying, they'll wipe us out before we could go even further," Brendan said.
"Then, we're gonna need a new plan," Wes said. The Mirage Hisuian Arcanine attacks with a Flamethrower. "Umbreon! Dark Pulse!" Umbreon fired Dark Pulse to block Flamethrower. An explosion occurred, so they used the cover of smoke to escape.
Back below, Pikachu kept firing Thunderbolt, until he struck a Mirage System panel, weakening Tentacruel, making it drop them.
"Great job!" Sora said.
"Run while you still can!" Kairi said.
Angel, Eevee, Volt, and Maple ran, so Pikachu fired another Thunderbolt to cover their escape. He made the Pokémon scattered and they dropped the prisoners. Houndoom and Mightyena charges at the Mouse Pokémon, hitting him. He struck a wooden box, making it shatter, much to Sora's horror.
"Pikachu!" Sora exclaimed. Sora ran over to get his partner, but Machamp tackled into Sora.
"Sora!" Kairi gasped.
"Pika...chu..." Sora weakly said.
Machamp grabbed Pikachu and took off with him.
"Sora, speak to me," Kairi weeped.
"Sora, don't do this to us again," Ash pleaded. Sora woke up.
"Where's Pikachu?" Sora asked.
"Gone. Those Mirage Pokémon took off with him," Leaf said.
"We're just glad you're okay, Sora," Ash said.
"We gotta save Pikachu," Sora said.
"And we will, Sora. I promise," Chase said.
"We all do," Riku said.
Just then, Mew appeared before them. They all gasped when they saw Mew with their own eyes.
"Mew!" Sora and Kairi exclaimed.
Mew beamed, seeing Sora is okay.
"Mew is another Mirage Pokémon, right?" Sora asked. Mew nodded.
"Mew seems different from the others," Elaine said.
"That means Mew is on our side," Trace said.
"I feel the same way, Trace," Naminé said.
"Azurill," Azurill chirped.
Just then, Angel, Eevee, Volt, and Maple came came back.
"Eevee," Riku said.
"Maple!" Elaine said.
"Volt!" Chase said.
"Angel," Kairi said as they took their partners in their arms. "Thank goodness you're safe."
"Eevee," Angel said. She looked around for Pikachu. She became frantic when she couldn't find him. "Eevee, vee?" Kairi looked at her sadly.
"I'm sorry, Angel, but Pikachu was captured," Kairi said. Eevee was distraught with worry.
Mew lands on the damaged panel and gets hurt as red energy seeps from it.
"Mew!" Sora gasped.
"What's happening?" Chase asked.
"I think I know! Look! That must have been damaged when Pikachu was trying to break loose!" Kairi said.
"Then, we gotta help!" Sora said.
"Sora, don't do anything crazy!" Ash said as Sora summoned his Kingdom Key and struggled to get to through the energy.
"Mew, grab it! Hurry!" Sora said. Mew grabbed the Keyblade by the teeth, so Sora pulled out with all his strength. "That was close."
"Now, we just gotta find Pikachu," Riku said.
"Mew, Mew!" Mew said, telling them to follow it.
"I think Mew wants us to follow it," Leaf said.
"That's means it knows where Pikachu's being held," Naminé said.
"Lead the way, Mew," Sora said.
Mew leads Sora, Kairi, Riku, Namine, Ash, Leaf, Chase, Elaine, Trace, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Volt, and Maple to the next hall to find Pikachu and Professor Oak.
Meanwhile, Roxas, Xion, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes, Rui, Michael, Xipak, Celeste, and Marill tried to fight their way through the lab's corridors.
Back with Mirage Master, the Mirage Pokémon brought Pikachu back to him and he strapped Pikachu down to a table.
"What are you going to do to Pikachu?" Professor Oak asked.
"I am extracting the Pokémon data from Pikachu's data. This would not be necessary if you had cooperated in the first place!" Mirage Master said. He activates his machine and it hurts Pikachu when it began to look into his memories.
"No, Pikachu!" Professor Oak said.
Mirage Master looked into Pikachu's memories, seeing Sora's Keyblade as well as some the worlds he had been with them.
"What is this? You are no ordinary Pikachu, are you? And they are not ordinary kids, are they? You have been to so many places not even of this world. But that is not the data I seek. I want to see data I can use," Mirage Master said. He had a look and saw the mythical and legendary Pokémon they had encountered. "Lugia, Arcticuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Entei, Raikou, Suicune, Celebi, Jirachi, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Latios, Latias, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Deoxys, Manaphy, Ho-Oh. You have met these rare Pokémon, haven't you?"
"Stop this madness now! Can't you see you'll kill Pikachu if you do this?!" Professor Oak asked.
"Perhaps, Professor Oak. But are you willing to sacrifice this Pokémon's life by refusing to hand your data over to me?" Mirage Master asked. Professor Oak sees Pikachu in agony and he saw there was no other way.
"Alright, you win. I'll do it," Professor Oak said.
"You've made a wise choice," Mirage Master said, turning off the machine. He releases Pikachu.
"Pikachu, it's okay," Professor Oak said.
"Now, if you please. The password," Mirage Master said, holding a pad. Professor Oak types in the password. Mirage Master saw he now has access.
"Most impressive, Professor Oak. Now, I'll can can create the truly perfect Pokémon," Mirage Master said. Professor Oak saw that it wasn't just his database, but others, too.
"What is this?" Professor Oak asked.
"Remember, I'm also able to gain access to the Oak Research Laboratory Network, which as you are too aware of, gives me the power to infiltrate Pokémon databases, vast quantities of vital information located on every corner of the planet, enabling me to acquire all existing Pokémon data!" Mirage Master stated.
"You wouldn't dare!" Professor Oak said.
"And to show my gratitude, I will allow you to witness the birth of the ultimate Pokémon: a Pokémon with unlimited potential power, the moment when the world's strongest Mirage Pokémon WILL BE MINE!" Mirage Master said as the machine powers up.
Worldwide, Professors Elm, Birch, and Kukui are at a loss for what is happening. Izzy is looking in to it.
"This can't be right!" Izzy said.
"What's going on?" Tai asked.
"Data is download to some unknown source!" Izzy said.
"What data?" Joe asked.
"All of it!" Izzy said.
Over to the police station, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Ryuko, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair arrived to the police station. Officer Jenny just shrugged it off, thinking they were making it up.
"We're not making it up! Dr. Yung is in trouble!" Karen insisted.
"Yeah, he and Professor Oak were really kidnapped!" Ventus said.
Before Officer Jenny could say anything, Nurse Joy makes contact.
"Jenny, it's an emergency!" Nurse Joy said.
"What is it, Nurse Joy?" Officer Jenny asked.
"Massive amounts of data are being downloaded from Pokémon Centers worldwide!" Nurse Joy said.
"Are you sure?" Officer Jenny asked.
"Mirage Master. He's doing this!" Aqua said.
"The one you keep mentioning?" Officer Jenny asked.
"Yes. He must be gathering data to use for the Mirage System he stole from Dr. Yung," Terra said. Officer Jenny was finally convinced, so she stood up.
"Not for long! Let's get him!" Officer Jenny said.
Back at the lab, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Chase, Elaine, Trace, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Volt, and Maple followed Mew to Mirage Master as he creates his monstrous design.
"Professor Oak!" Sora called out. He saw Pikachu in his arms. "Pikachu!"
"Sora, thank goodness, you're safe," Professor Oak said.
"Pikachu, what happened to Pikachu?" Sora asked.
"Pikachu is alright, but the torture he endured was because of Mirage Master, just so he create that!" Professor Oak said. They turned to see the ball of energy.
"What is that?" Chase asked.
"What is he trying to make?" Leaf asked.
Hearing them, Mirage Master faces them.
"Ah, more guests. Prepare to witness the strongest Pokémon the world has ever seen!" Mirage Master announced.
"The strongest Pokémon?" Ash asked.
"What are you talking about?" Riku asked.
"Awaken! Mewtwo!" Mirage Master shouted. Glass shattered as all around. Light shines so brightly as Rei can see it from outside.
"What in the name of Kingdom Hearts is going on up there?" Rei asked.
Back in the lab, Roxas, Xion, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes, Rui, Michael, Xipak, Celeste, and Marill stopped, knowing they were getting closer.
"What is that?" Rui asked.
"I don't know, but I have a feeling we're getting closer," Xion said.
"Then, let's get going," Wes said.
Agreeing with Wes, they all climbed up the stairs and they saw their friends and Professor Oak.
"Guys, glad to see you're okay," Sora said.
"Likewise, but what's that?" Michael asked.
The light fades as the energy core has taken the shape of Mewtwo, much to their shock.
"What kind of Pokémon is that?" Rui asked.
"Mewtwo," Sora and Kairi said in unison.
"Mewtwo?" May asked.
"No, not the Mewtwo you are familiar with. Unlike the real Mewtwo, this Mewtwo is a Mirage Pokémon, so there are no attacks, Mewtwo cannot use. Now, show them your tremendous power!"
Mewtwo demonstrated its power when it fires a powerful stream of light blue flames from its hand and at the other Mirage Pokémon, making them vanish.
"That's Blue Flare!" Professor Oak gasped.
"Mewtwo just destroyed the others like it was not a problem," Michael said. Mew floats to where they were they were destroyed. Mirage Master laughed evilly.
"You are looking at perfection! And now, you can experience it," Mirage Master said. Mewtwo prepares another attack. Mewtwo forms shurikens made out of water and threw them.
"That's Water Shuriken!" Lyra said.
"Dragonite! Twister!" Professor Oak called out, taking out a Pokéball and threw it. Dragonite attempts to blow Water Shuriken back, but an explosion occurred.
"None of your Pokémon can stand up to Mewtwo!" Mirage Master said.
"We have to get out of here!" Professor Oak said.
"What about Dr. Yung?" Ash asked.
"There's nothing we can do! Get going!" Professor Oak said.
"Okay," Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Wes, Rui, Michael and Trace said as they and the Pokémon started to run.
"Quick, Mew! You too!" Professor Oak said. Mew complied with the professor.
"You think running can somehow save you? I think not," Mirage Master said.
They all made it outside as Rei was waiting for them to come back safely.
"You're alright, but where's Dr. Yung?" Rei asked. She saw Mew at the entrance. "Wait, it's Mew." Just then, missiles come raining down.
"What's that?" Ethan asked.
"Of course. He has that, too," Professor Oak said.
The missiles darts the ground, revealed to be the Mirage System.
"The Mirage System!" Brendan said.
"Does this mean what I think it does?" Wes asked.
"It does. It allows the Mirage Pokémon an unlimited range for their attack," Professor Oak said.
"Precisely," Mirage Master said as he and his Mirage Mewtwo stepped out. "The Mirage System will defeat the entire world! And with its might, the entire world will bow down before me!" He took out his controller and he creates Mirage Arcticuno, Zapdos, and Entei. Pikachu regains consciousness. Loki is watching from a distance.
"Zapdos, Moltres, Entei, and Mewtwo. Legendary Pokémon put the wazoo," Loki said. He chuckled. "This should be entertaining. Count Ernesh is going to love this."
"Finally, all my many years of hard work is coming to fruition. It's time to awaken," Dr. Yung said.
"Mirage Master, please stop! Or should I say Dr. Yung?" Professor Oak asked, finally putting the pieces together. Everyone all looked at him.
"Wait! Dr. Yung?" Sora asked.
"What?" Mirage Master asked.
"How is that even possible? Dr. Yung was captured by the Aerodactyl when Mirage Master first showed up," Rui pointed out.
"True, we did witness the Aerodactyl whisk away the doctor without a doubt, consider Mirage Master's first appearance was just a hologram, which would facilitate the illusion that Dr. Yung was kidnapped, allowing his evil plan to be carried out," Professor Oak said. Mirage Master laughed once again. He removes his hat and mask to reveal himself, much to the shock of the group.
"You never cease to amaze, professor. I must know how you figured that out," Dr. Yung said.
"It was back when Mew first appeared. I remembered you saying Mew was a flawed specimen and told Mew to get out of your sight. A true scientist would never say such a thing. And when you refer to all your long years of difficult work, could you possibly be seeking revenge on Pokémon institute by your deplorable actions?" Professor Oak asked.
"Right again," Dr. Yung admitted. "They refused to accept my work on Mirage Pokémon. I was expelled from the institute because of their short-sighted stupidity!"
"There's a simple reason why you were expelled. Your work showed zero respect for Pokémon! And without respect, your theories were doomed to failure, time after time," Professor Oak said.
"I'm afraid this time is different. Prepare to witness success," Dr. Yung said, using his controller. The Mirage Articuno, Zapdos, and Entei lauched their attacks. Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Brendan, May, Wes, Rei, and Trace have taken out their Pokéballs to battle.
"Charizard! Go!" Ash called out.
"Venusaur! Come out!" Leaf called out.
"Typhlosion! Do your thing!" Ethan called out.
"Wani-Wani! Go!" Kris called out.
"Go! Sceptile!" Brendan called out.
"Blaziken! Let's go!" May called out.
"Come out, Espeon and Umbreon!" Wes called out.
"Jolteon! Go!" Trace called out.
"Lucario! Go!" Rei called out.
Entei fired Flamethrower.
"Typhlosion! Flamethrower!" Ethan ordered. Typhlosion fired Flamethrower, but Entei's was too strong for Typhlosion to overpower.
"Angel! Swift!" Kairi ordered.
"Celeste, you use Swift, too!" Xion ordered.
"Combusken! Fire Blast!" May ordered.
"Venusaur! Solar Beam!" Leaf ordered.
Jolteon! Thunder!" Trace ordered.
Arcticuno and Zapdos overpowered Venusair, Blaziken, and Jolteon.
"Wani-Wani! Hydro Pump!" Kris ordered. Wani-Wani fired a Hydro Pump, but Arcticuno plowed into Wani-Wani. "Wani-Wani!"
"Marill! Bubble Beam!" Lyra ordered. Marill fired Bubble Beam, but Entei lets out another Flamethrower, hitting the Aqua Mouse Pokémon.
"Charizard! Fire Blast! Aim for Mewtwo!" Ash ordered.
"Lugia! Use Psycho Boost!" Michael ordered.
"Thunderbolt, Volt!" Chase ordered.
"Use Swift, Maple!" Elaine ordered.
"Sceptile! Seed Bomb!" Brendan ordered.
"Eevee! Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered.
"Xipak! Electro Web!" Roxas ordered.
"Lucario! Aura Sphere!" Rei ordered.
"Hyper Beam!" Professor Oak ordered.
They all launched their attacks at Mewtwo, but the Mirage Genetic Pokémon raises its hand to block the attacks with just one hand.
"Mewtwo just blocked it," Ash said.
"And with just one hand," Chase said.
Mewtwo heads for the Pokémon and gave a punch to each one of them.
"Eevee!" Riku gasped.
"Mewtwo is too powerful," Rei said.
"You now see this is the power Pokémon were intended to possess. Face the facts, while you can," Dr. Yung said.
"Wow, this is turning out to be more intense than I thought. He doesn't know the meaning of 'give up'. But if he isn't careful, the Heartless could show up at any moment. And I hope they do," Loki said.
Mewtwo's hand then turned into Arcanine's face.
"What now?" Rui asked.
"That's Arcanine's face in Mewtwo's hand," May said.
"Farewell," Dr. Yung said, firing a Flamethrower at Professor Oak.
"Professor Oak, no!" Sora gasped.
Pikachu fired a Thunderbolt, but it was overpowered by Mewtwo's Flamethrower and struck hard by the fire attack.
"Pikachu!" Sora exclaimed.
"Your Pikachu has made a foolish error. Hyper Beam!" Dr. Yung ordered. Mewtwo forms a Gyarados's face and fired a Hyper Beam at Pikachu.
"No!" Sora exclaimed.
"Eevee!" Angel cried. Before she could rush to Pikachu's side, Mew creates a forefield to protect Pikachu.
"Look at that," Ethan said.
"Mew protected Pikachu," Xion said.
"Mew is an awesome Pokémon," Chase said.
Dr. Yung growled in anger.
"I refuse to tolerate any more meddling! And so for you, Mew, I have tolerated your existence for the last time! Mewtwo! Destroy Mew!" Dr. Yung ordered. Mewtwo rushed at Mew and gave Mew a smack with Iron Tail. "Mega Punch!" Mewtwo lands a Mega Punch into Mew, sending it up in the air. "Solar Beam!" Mewtwo's hands turned into Tropius hands and fired a double Solar Beam, hitting Mew, much to everyone's dismay.
"Mew!" Everyone exclaimed.
"This cannot be happening!" Trace said.
Mew then fades away and gets absorbed into the Mirage System. Dr. Yung smugly grinned.
"Good riddance to a flaw specimen, anyway," Dr. Yung said.
"Flawed specimen?!" Sora angrily exclaimed. Dr. Yung looked at Sora, not liking the tone in Sora's voice. "Is that Mew was to you? A flawed specimen? The only one here who's flawed is you, Yung!" Sora points his finger at Dr. Yung. This gets under his skin.
"Flawed? You're calling me flawed?!" Dr. Yung snapped.
"Who do you think you are talking that way to Mew? Any scientist would be thrilled to see Mew, but you? You're no real scientist! You're just another enemy of Pokémon! If you're gonna go and kill every Pokémon in the world, then I'm going to stop you!" Sora said, summoning his Kingdom Key.
"I was wondering you were gonna call your key. Are you going to fight Mewtwo yourself, boy?" Dr. Yung asked.
"Yeah, I am. I'm going to put a stop to your plans, and save every Pokémon in the world! Humans and Pokémon have been living together in peace for a long time, and you're planning to wipe them all out just to make your Mirage System unbeatable! Mirage Pokémon may be powerful, but there is one thing a real Pokémon has and a Mirage Pokémon doesn't! They all have hearts!" Sora said.
"Hearts? What does that nonsense have to do with anything?" Dr. Yung asked.
"Everything. Humans and Pokémon all share a world, and like I said, we've been loving together for a long time. Like people, Pokémon have thoughts, feelings, and personalities. There were some people who used Pokémon as accessories, while there some who saw them as products to sell for money, and others who uses them as weapons for war, but there are people like me who connects well with Pokémon! There are people who loves and cares about their Pokémon, just like I love each and every one of mine," Sora said. Dr. Yung wasn't moved one little bit.
"Well, that's an inspiring speech, but all of that dribble means nothing to me. I'm going to destroy you and every one of your beliefs in a single swoop!" Dr. Yung said.
"Bring it on! We'll see if your fake Mewtwo stands a chance against the power of the Keyblade," Sora said.
"Yes, we shall see. First..." Dr. Yung said, using his device. Entei, Arcticuno, and Zapdos are being absorbed into Mewtwo's body.
"Mewtwo is absorbing the Pokémon," May said.
"That's not all. All of the Mirage System database has been written into Mewtwo as well," Professor said.
"There isn't a Pokémon on the planet that can defeat Mewtwo. Even Arceus would never stand a chance against it. Now, finishing them off, Mewtwo!" Dr. Yung ordered. Mewtwo gave off a loud roar. Faces of various Pokémon appear all over Mewtwo's body. Mewtwo unleashed a vast variety of attacks from its body; each in a different type. Sora and Pikachu charges at Mewtwo and managed to avoid Mewtwo's attacks, but Sora and Pikachu were struck hard by the attacks.
"Sora!" Ash and Leaf gasped.
"A feeble effort! A Pikachu, not even your Keyblade, cannot defeat Mewtwo in battle!" Dr. Yung said as the Mirage Mewtwo was holding both Sora and Pikachu. Sora just grinned as he chuckled, despite the pain.
"I didn't need to beat you, just distract you...!" Sora said. Dr. Yung noticed Kairi and Angel were gone.
Then Dr. Yung's eyes widened in shock, realizing why Kairi and Angel weren't here as he turned to see that Kairi casted a crystal thunder spell while Angel used Swift to destroy the machine.
"Noooooo!" Dr. Yung shouted after the machine was destroyed. Then Mirage Mewtwo began disappearing, much to Dr. Yung's dismay. He was now glaring angrily at Sora. "What have you done?!"
"I guess I don't need to apologize for breaking your Mirage System," Sora said.
"Why? How could you do this?" Dr. Yung asked.
"Because Mew asked us to," Kairi said.
"What?" Dr. Yung asked.
"You see, Mew wanted us to destroy the Mirage System through telepathy.
(Flashback)
This takes place after Pikachu was captured by the Mirage Pokémon.
"I need you to destroy the Mirage System," Mew said.
"You want us to do what?" Sora asked.
"I want you to destroy the Mirage System. It's the only way to keep out of the hands of evil. If you don't, then many Pokémon will suffer," Mew said.
"But you're a Mirage Pokémon, too, Mew. If we destroy the Mirage System, we'll destroy you, too," Ash said.
"I know, but it's the only way," Mew said.
(Flashback ends)
"While you and Sora were fighting, I had to move in and destroy every bit of the Mirage System," Kairi said.
"No! You ruined everything! You destroyed both of my research and my revenge! I will never forgive you! I will never forgive you!" Dr. Yung exclaimed as the darkness was building up in his heart until he was finally engulfed in darkness and undergoes a transformation. He turned into a Mewtwo, but it's all black with the exception of the yellow tip at the tail. It has a yellow crystal on the right shoulder. The Heartless emblem appeared on the chest.
"Dr. Yung!" Sora gasped.
"What just happened to him?" Trace asked.
"That's the emblem of the Heartless! Dr. Yung turned into a Heartless!" Riku said.
"Then, we have no choice but to destroy him," Rei said.
She and the rest of her apprentices summoned their Keyblades and engaged the Mewtwo Heartless. They came at it with their Keyblades, so the Mewtwo Heartless fought back with dark energy. Kairi casts a crystal fire spell as May casts a blizzard spell. The Mewtwo Heartless unleashed a burst of yellow energy and sent their way. Rei unleashed a golden spell, hitting it. They clashed their Keyblades at the Mewtwo Heartless, but it was still standing. It unleashed another burst of yellow energy.
"How can we be able to beat this monster? It's too strong for us!" Elaine said.
"Don't give up! There isn't a Heartless we can't beat! So, I don't see why we're gonna let this one beat us now!" Sora said.
"Sora's right," Rei agreed. "You've been in tight situations before and this will be no exception!" Rei said.
The Mewtwo Heartless unleashes massive yellow destructive orbs and sends it their way. Sora and Kairi managed to dodge, so they held up their Keyblades, merging into one again. They swung it down and struck the Mewtwo Heartless down the chest. The crystal shattered as the Shadow Mewtwo roared in pain.
By that time, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Ventus, Ryuko, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, and Eclair arrived with Officer Jenny, witnessing the Heartless reverting back to Dr. Yung, much to their shock.
"Dr. Yung? Dr. Yung is Mirage Master?" Karen asked.
"I was so close! My revenge was within my fingertips! Now, it is gone," Dr. Yung said before he fades away from existence.
With the Mirage System destroyed, the data that was downloaded has been returned to where it once originated. Everyone knew it wouldn't take long until the world knows of Dr. Yung's crimes.
"Hard to believe he was nice to us when we first get here, and then, he turned out that he wasn't so nice," Chase said.
"Dr. Yung's actions will probably haunt him in death. The only thing he has accomplished was becoming an example of what not to do," Professor Oak said.
"I still can't get over that he turned into a Heartless like that," Elaine said.
"Well, he has no one to blame but himself. He let the darkness in his heart grow and it eventually caught up to him," Naminé said.
"That is absolutely true, Naminé. We can only hope Dr. Yung didn't inspire someone else to try something like this," Rei said.
"I do too, Rei. So, I will make certain the documents he has made about Mirage System is destroyed," Professor Oak said. He then looked at Sora. "And Sora, I have been thinking about what you said to Yung earlier. All I can say is, truer words were never spoken. You saved more Pokémon's lives than you can ever know."
"I only did what I thought was right," Sora said.
"And we're all proud of you for it, Sora," Rei said. His friends all agreed with Sora as they were proud of him as well. Kairi, Karen, and Ventus were especially proud of him.
With the threat of the Mirage System destroyed, the world can breathe a big sigh of relief since the world is safe, but Dr. Yung was only one of many evils, so the Guardians of Kingdom Hearts will have to be prepared for any evil coming their way.
Speaking of which, Loki has returned to Count Ernesh.
"So, it would seem Dr. Yung's quest for revenge was doomed to failure after all," Count Ernesh said.
"Yeah. The doc has gone and turned into a Heartless after Kairi and her little Eevee blew up the Mirage System," Loki said.
"His revenge against the science institute has only fed the darkness in his heart. His intelligence may have been his strength, but it was also his weakness. One of many weaknesses we shall exploit," Count Ernesh said.
"I get ya," Loki said as he grinned evilly.
