(Author notes: Normally I save this for the end of the chapter but I feel I need to say this now. I'm sorry for how long it took me to get this chapter out. I travel alot for my job and when I do that the only thing on my mind is work. Normally when I'm in my hotel room when I'm not working is when I write but while on my trip I got massive food poisoning so I was just not in any mood to write. Then the paper mario remake came out and I spent 50 hours on that. When I finally got around to trying to write I hit a writer's block and that didn't clear up for another week. So yeah…..normally I ask for some comments to help my motivation and I still want that but if you also wanna hold me accountable for taking so long please don't hesitate to tell me off. There Might be some misspellings and punctuation errors but I really want to get this out ASAP cause I feel so bad about not updating in a while, will fix any issues when i get time)

It was a friday and classes at the University of Wild Magic just let out. Gus had just finished grading papers and was getting ready for his plans tonight. But before he could leave Eda entered his class room.

"Heeeeey, Gus!"

Gus heard this and turned to see his friend and the University headmaster, "Hey Eda! Do you need something?"

"Just making sure you're still coming to my house for our little get together."

Shortly after Luz and Amity got back from their honeymoon Eda and Luz planned to get everyone together for dinner at the owl house. However since everyone had stuff going on they never had a chance to do it. But this weekend none of them had anything to do so it was the perfect time for it.

"Of course! I wouldn't miss this for the world!" Gus assured, answering Eda's question. "I just need to go get someone before I go…"

Eda raised an eyebrow, "You bringing someone to it?"

Gus blushed realizing he never asked Eda if he could bring a guest, "Oh yeah, sorry I totally forgot to ask you!

Eda waved it off, "Eh it's fine, you can bring someone. Who are planning on bringing with you?"

"Well…I haven't told you this yet but…" Gus started to answer when suddenly Cat entered the room.

"Hey Ms. Eda!" Cat said to Eda as she walked up to Gus. She stopped when she approached him. "H-Hey…" She said nervously as she blushed.

"H-Hey." Gus replied just as nervously.

Eda looked at both of them with a smirk knowing what was going on. Eda decided she would leave the two alone and not be a third wheel. "Well I gotta get back to The Owl House and get things ready! I'll see you both tonight, byyyyyyye!"

Eda walked out the room leaving the two to talk.

The two stood there in silence until Gus composed himself a bit and began talking, "What's up?"

"Well….." Cat paused for a second before continuing, "I thought I'd meet you here and we could walk to the Owl House together."

Gus smiled and bopped her on the nose, "Yeah, just give me a few minutes and we'll leave."

Cat replied with only a smile and went outside and waited.

After about 20 minutes Gus finished what he was doing and came out. "Sorry I took so long."

Cat waves it off, "It's no biggie."

Gus held out his hand, "Shall we?"

Cat grabs his hand, "We shall!"

The two started to walk to The Owl House hand in hand. Normally when they hang out is as a group with the rest of their friends and since Gus and Cat are often busy with other things they never get any time with just the two of them. So for today they took the long route to The Owl House so they could enjoy each other's company.

"This is nice!" Cat said as they walked, "Just the two of us!"

"It is…." Gus replied, rubbing the back of his neck, "I'm sorry we haven't gotten any time together…"

"It's not your fault! We've both been busy…"

"I know but I still wanna make it up to you somehow."

Cat placed her head on his shoulder as they walked, "Don't worry about it! We will find time soon."

Suddenly Gus got an idea, "I got it!"

Now Cat was confused, "What do you mean?"

"Every year after the school year I spend a few weeks in the human world to learn more things about it. How about you come with me this time?

"Really? You want me to go with you?" Cat asked

Gus nodded, "Of course! This will be a good way to make up for the time we didn't spend together during the school year!"

"But where would we stay in the Human World?"

Gus thought about it for a second before coming to a conclusion, "I normally stay with Luz's mom, I could ask her if you could stay too."

Cat thought about it for a minute, "I don't know about that, I never even met Luz's mom. Why would she just let a girl she doesn't know stay with her?"

Gus lightly laugh at that statement, "This is the same woman who let 5 kids she never met stay at her house for months, I think she'll be ok with it"

"That's true…" Cat muttered

Gus gently squeezed her hand, "How about this, Camila will be at this get together how about you ask her yourself and if she says no we'll figure something else out. That sound good?"

Cat thought it over for a second. "I guess that couldn't hurt."

As if on cue they arrived at The Owl House.

"Well, here we are." Gus said.

Cat looked on at the famous house that she had only heard stories about, "Wow! never thought I'd come here!"

Gus turned his head towards her. "Are you nervous?"

"About coming here? No. About Asking Luz's mom if I can stay at her house? Very!"

Gus turned Cat around and put his hand on her shoulders, "It will be ok! Camila is the best! She's like a mom to all of us and she's super kind! Just take a deep breath and let it out slowly."

Cat took a deep breath and exhaled. "Ok! I can do it! Thanks, I needed that!"

Gus blushed at his girlfriend staring at her, "Anytime."

Cat wrapped Gus up in a hug which he returned. When they separated they stared at each other in silence. They slowly began to bring their faces together. However they were interrupted.

"Guuuuuuuuuuuus, who's your friend?" said a certain house demon as he pressed his face to Gus'.

"Hooty!" Gus annoyingly yelled.

"Ah!" Cat yelled, "W-What is that?"

"Oh right you never met him. Cat, this is Hooty, Eda's house demon and her sister's best friend."

"Hoot Hoot!"

Gus turns to Hooty, "Hooty, this is Cat."

"N-Nice to meet you Hooty." Cat said still kinda confused about what Hooty was

Hooty looked at Cat and back to Gus, "Ohhhhhhh so this is the girl you're dating now!? I've heard a lot about you! HOOT HOOTY HOOT!"

Gus blushed, "Hooty! Zip it!"

Hooty opened the door, "Everyone else is here you may enter!'

Gus and Cat entered The Owl House which caught the attention of a certain lavender haired witch.

"Gus! Cat!" Amity walked up to both of them and hugged them. "I was starting to think you guys weren't gonna make it."

"It's my fault." Cat admitted, "I wanted us to walk here together…"

"How was the walk?"

"It was nice!"

"Cat!" Luz came up to her and hugged her.

Cat hugged back, "Hey Luz!"

Luz grabbed Cat's arm "I know this is sudden but there is someone here who wants to meet you!"

"Meet me? Who?" Cat asked.

"Come with me!" Luz leads Cat to the kitchen and takes her to Camila. "Cat, this is my mama Camila Noceda. Mom, this is Cat. She's a good friend."

Camila came up to her, "Oh hello young lady!"

"Oh! Nice to meet you, Ms. Noceda."

"Please, call me Camila."

Cat nodded, and rubbed her arm nervously, "I'm sorry if this sounds rude but why were you wanting to meet me?"

"Well, I heard you and Gus were an item now and I would like to meet all my kids' partners."

Luz suddenly chimed in, "Mama is the one who picked out the clothes I bought for your date."

"Really? Thank you so much Ms. Camila!"

Camila smiled at her, "I was no trouble at all Cat! I'm just happy everything went well! How have things been going with you two?"

"Oh it's been great!" Cat exclaimed "Aside from us being busy a lot, but we got plans after the school year!"

"That sounds great! What are those plans?"

Cat froze for a second after realizing what she said. She still needed to talk to Camila about staying in the Human realm and thought maybe this was the chance to ask her. However she just met her and thought it might be rude to ask.

Cat decided to tell her the plans without asking, "Well me and him are gonna spend the time after school letting out to hang out together in the human realm!

"That's great!" Camila placed her hand on Cat's shoulder, "If you two need a place to stay while you are more than welcome to stay with me."

Cat went wide-eyed. She didn't expect Camila to offer, "Really? Thank you!"

Camila replied with just a smile.

Suddenly Eda came in, "Alright everyone, time to eat!

Everyone started to get to their seats but Cat went right to Gus. "Gus! I got good news. I walked talking to Luz's mom and told her that we are after the school year plans and she offered us a place to stay."

Gus smiled at her, "Told you she wouldn't mind."

Cat smiled back at him, "Yes, Yes you did!"

Cat thought for a second an thought this would be a good opportunity. She looked around the room frantically confusing Gus.

Gus raised an eyebrow, "Cat? What are you doing?"

"Seeing if that house demon is around."

Now Gus was really confused, "Why do you care if Hooty is around?"

Without saying anything she gave Gus a quick peck on the lips causing him to blush.

"That's why, I didn't want him to interrupt again!" she holds her hand out for him to take, "Shall we join the others?"

Gus takes her hand and they go to join the rest of their friends.
