Chapter 14: A Scarab to Find
After the Pretty Cure team, Rusty and Musty, and every citizen in Clay Outpost worked hard to wash the town from Scribbelle's graffiti, the town became clean again. All the buildings, market stands, and everything is cleaned and freshened up again. After that, the streets were filled with citizens again as they walked around the town buying groceries, delivering letters, and doing other stuff they do in town.
The Pretty Cures, the fairies, Matt, Tint, and Rusty and Musty are inside Mayor Shellby's mud house home where he lives three stories high overlooking the whole outpost. The Mayor looks at all the citizens though his window as he sees them happily roaming around in the streets. He looked back at the Pretty Curs, which are still in their Pretty Cure form, with Matt, Rusty and Musty with them, as he smiled and sat down in his rocking chair.
"I can't thank you enough for saving everyone, myself, and the town from that wicked Scribbelle witch." Shellby said with delight.
"No problem," Cure Beat replied with a grin, "We are glad to help."
"It took a while, but we finally finished cleaning up the town." Cure Black said as he rotates her arm to loosen her muscle.
"Indeed," the mayor followed, "thanks again for also helping cleaning up my town."
"You're very welcome." Cure Blossom said with delight.
"Now that's settle, I can repay with any favor you desire Pretty Cures. So what will it be?" Matt was about to speak first as he took a breath. "Ah! Ta-ta-ta!" the mayor interrupted causing Matt to hold his breath. "I know what you all want, I can tell. You're looking for the Wonder Color of this desert, am I correct?"
"That's right Mayor Shellby." Cure Beauty replied.
"How did you know that?" Cure Rosetta asked.
"Well they don't call the wise turtle mayor for nothing." the mayor said with a grin. "I heard the prophecy about you Pretty Cures saving Spectrum Land, and I know the reason you're here is to find the Wonder Color in this desert so you can restore the Prism Diamond." The Pretty Cure team nodded in agreement. "Well I'll be happy to tell you." The whole team smiled waiting for the anticipation. "There's just one thing…"
"What's that?" Cure Pine asked as she is waiting for the anticipation.
"Well…" All the Pretty Cures are waiting for the answer, so did the fairies, and Matt widens his eyes. There was a moment of pause…, then the mayor slowly responds. "…I can't tell you." The whole team, including Matt and Tint, collapsed to the ground. Rusty and Musty only blinked.
"EEHHH!?" some of the Pretty Cures cried in shock.
"Why not!?" Cure Princess cried.
The mayor took a breath and then speaks, "Well first of all, how many Wonder Colors did you save?"
"Only one." Cure Aqua replied.
"Really? Let me see." Matt answers Mayor Shellby's request by showing him the Wonder Color Case. Matt opened the case to let the mayor see the circle slot that has the Wonder Color Green glowing inside. The mayor raised his bushy eyebrows in amazement, "Ooo… That's really good Pretty Cures. That's taking the first big step to saving our world. You can put it away young man." Matt nodded as he puts the Wonder Color Case back into his messenger bag. Mayor Shellby then makes a firm look, "Ahem! Now the reason why I can't tell you is because we people of Yellow Desert and Clay Outpost want to keep the Wonder Color of this desert, known as the Wonder Color Yellow, as well hidden from thieves like Scribbelle and people who are eager to find the Wonder Color for themselves. As you know, if the Wonder Color falls into the wrong hands, major situations will rise, as if it's bad enough to have the Blots run amuck finding the Wonder Colors for conquest. But only, and only, those who seek the Wonder Colors, are willing to save Spectrum Land and use them wisely on their journey. And that… is you Pretty Cures."
"That's right Mayor Shellby." Cure Lovely stated.
"So then… why won't you tell us?" Matt pondered as he is still confused.
"Yeah, we are desperate to find that Wonder Color and save Spectrum Land." Tint stated.
"Now don't panic everyone." the mayor said as he tries to calm everyone down, "I never said I won't help you find the Wonder Color, just not telling you directly. There is one way to find the Wonder Color." The team then stopped and calm down after hearing what Mayor Shellby said. "Somewhere in this town is somebody who knows how to find the Wonder Color of this vast dry desert to the heroes who are saving Spectrum Land. Who's that? That I can't tell. But I can tell you this…" The Pretty Cure team, Matt, Tint, and Rusty and Musty listened. "Your only lead to find this person is the people of this town." Everyone blinked in little surprise. "That's right you guys. Most people here don't know who that specific person is, but only a few know. If you solve this mystery and find that person, then all you of Pretty Cures will find the Wonder Color of this desert." After the mayor's speech, the team got into concerned looks.
"Oh man! I don't believe this." Cure Black complained, "A mystery in this town. It's like solving a Math problem I don't know. And I don't like Math."
"Finding a person who knows another person that knows where the Wonder Color is located is like following clues one after another." Cure Honey stated.
The whole team is really in a jam. "Well, we won't make any progress by standing here thinking about." Tint said. "Let's get a move on."
Everyone nodded to Tint as they start to leave the mayor's room and head for the entrance door. "OH! Wait!" the mayor shouted. He stopped the team as everyone turned and looked at him. "There is however one bright thing about this mystery I can tell you." Everyone listened. "And it's only for you Pretty Cures. You're looking for an object in order to find the Wonder Color. Remember these words if you encounter that person that will help you find the Wonder Color Yellow." Everyone listened again. "Look for: The Golden Scarab." And with that, the mayor smiled and winks with his bushy eyebrows. "Good Luck." The Pretty Cures nodded, and then everyone exited the room.
Outside in the square where there is fountain, the Pretty Cure team all huddle up and discussed to each other.
"The Golden Scarab… so that's must be what we have to find." Cure Muse stated.
"But in order to find that, we need to find the person who has that scarab." Cure Ace noted.
"But in order to find that guy, we need to find another person who knows that person with the scarab." Cure Passion said.
"Wha… girls, you're confusing us." Cure Dream said as she, Lemonade, Happy, Melody, Black, and Marine are confused.
"I understand you girls perfectly," Matt responded, "but take a look around." He and the girls, along with Rusty and Musty, looked at the whole vicinity of the square. "There so many people here." He was right when there are men, women, boys, girls, and the turtle people around the area. "When we arrived at first, this whole outpost is an empty lot. But now that we saved everyone and this town, the whole place is crawling with people walking around everywhere. There must be at least two thousand people in this town, in my view. It'll take forever to find a person who knows where the scarab is." The Pretty Cure team is now worried that finding this simple scarab will be impossible.
Then Cure Mint starts to talk, "Well we better start somewhere. We won't save Spectrum Land, our world, and the other worlds by standing here concerning on this situation." Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Agree Mint." Cure Aqua responded, "I would suggest splitting ourselves into small groups and ask as many people here about the Golden Scarab. That way we can cover and meet more people faster."
"A good idea," Cure Egret followed, "we might have a better chance of finding scarab quick."
Everyone agrees, but Rusty starts to talk, "Well… you Purdy Cures do your thing to find that Wonder Color. Me and my companion Musty are going to set this one off."
"Eh? You're not coming with us?" Luminous pondered.
"Oh… you young girls, and young lads, are pretty smart to find this gold-nugget scarab without me. I need to check my transportation truck in case if you find the scarab, and you need me and my truck to find the Wonder Color in this here hot-bacon desert. Good luck partners, we'll see you back at the truck." Rusty waves good-bye to the Pretty Cure team as he and Musty starts to walk back to their truck that's at front entrance of the town.
"Take care." Cure White called out. "We'll see you at the truck when we retrieve the scarab."
As Rusty and Musty exited the scene, everyone looked at each other. "Alright team, let's find that scarab." Cure Dream commanded. "It's decided." Everyone nodded and split up into small groups as they explored the town and start asking people about the scarab.
Time went by as the small groups of the Pretty Cure team asked many people in the town in search for the Golden Scarab. The Max Heart and Splash Star Cures asked people living in the residential streets and homes, but no one ever heard of a person with the scarab. The Pretty Cure 5 stopped at a post office with mailmen inside and asked them, but not one mailman knows the location of the scarab. The Fresh and Suite Cures asked people around the market district, but nothing out of them. The DokiDoki and Smile Cures arrived at a clay pottery making store and asked, but no dice. The Heartcatch and Happiness Charge Cures arrived at a small ranch that has camels and asked the animal trainers if they seen a person with the Golden Scarab, but zilch. And lastly, Matt, Tint, and the fairies arrived door to door at the mud houses high and low asking questions about the scarab, but came out with nothing.
As a third-quarter of an hour passed, everyone of the Pretty Cure team arrived back at the square and sat down near the fountain. They were exhausted and disappointed that they came out empty-handed of the location of the scarab. They talked to a lot people in the town, and not one of the team members knows where the scarab is or where the person who has the scarab is.
"Oh man! I'm exhausted!" Cure Melody complained.
"I can't believe nobody in this town knows where the scarab is, or the person who has it." Cure Diamond said in disappointment.
"There has to be someone here who knows where the scarab is-dabyi." Dabyi said.
"But we've been walking and asking people around this town so long, and we still couldn't find anything-coco." said Coco as he is tired from walking around.
"Not to mention, I'm hungry-mepo." Mepple complained.
"Me too-nya." Hummy followed.
Matt stood and tries to comfort the team, "We can't stop now Pretty Cures. The mayor said there are a few people here that know the location of the scarab. I'm sure if we find one of them, we're bound to find that scarab."
"But Matt," Cure Sunny interrupted. "We've been talking to people for a while, and we haven't come across anyone who knows the scarab and or that certain person."
"Yeah Matt, not to complain but a dream fashion model like me needs a break." Cure Berry followed. "I mean we just met at least five hundred people right now, and there are a lot of people here to ask. You expect all of us to find this scarab thing in a flash."
Matt paused a moment and looks at Berry with her concerned look. Matt then sighed, "Yeah… I guess you're right." he sat down on the fountain's tile wall in disappointment. "This is really hard." The team sighed feeling that they hit a dead end wall.
Tint, who is next to Shypre and Potpourri and sitting on the fountain's wall, sighed in sorrow. "We'll never save Spectrum Land like this." She said to herself. "And I'll never become-"
"Hey there Tint!" someone shouted. She and the whole team heard the voice and looked toward the sound. And just on the other side of the fountain is Tone, along with Khrisp at his side. Tone flew and landed near Tint as he comforts her. "How are things going for you and the Pretty Cures?"
"Not so good." Tint replies.
"Really, why?"
"Hey Pretty Cures," Khrisp called, "I just want to say thanks again for saving me and everyone in town."
"Oh, you're welcome Khrisp." Cure Heart responded still feeling a bit down.
"But what are you Pretty Cures still doing here? I thought you're out fighting bad guys and saving our world."
"Well truth be told, we're kind of stuck right now." Cure March answered.
"Really Pretty Cures?" Tone asked as he flies in front of the team. "What happened?"
Cure Beat makes the response, "We're looking for this certain item that will help us find the Wonder Color of this desert, but we haven't got a clue of where to look for it."
"We asked many people to find this object," Cure Blossom continued, "but no here knows where its hidden location is."
"W…What are you looking for then?" Khrisp asked.
"It's this scarab we're looking for." Tarte replied as he is sitting on Cure Peach's shoulder. "That's all we wanted."
Khrisp and Tone blinked. "A scarab?" Khrisp pondered. "You mean the Golden Scarab…?"
"…That leads to where the Wonder Color Yellow is?" said Tone finishing the statement.
Milky Rose responds, "Yeah, that's the-" but she and the others of the team flinched in surprise. They all stood and looked at Khrisp and Tone. The two outpost residents sweat-drop when the Pretty Cure team stared at them. "How did you know that?" Milky Rose asked in a firm tone of voice. Tone and Khrisp were a little bit scared as the team kept staring them.
"That scarab is what we are looking for all this time, so we can use it to find the Wonder Color Yellow." Cure Sunshine declared. "Tell us, where did you hear about that scarab?"
"Yes, it's really important if we want to save Spectrum Land." Cure Bloom stated.
"Alright girls no need to panic." Tone calmed them down.
"We heard about the Golden Scarab from my father." Khrisp responded. "He told us everything about the scarab, so he might know where the scarab is."
The Pretty Cure team widen their eyes a little knowing there is hope to save Spectrum Land. "Then…, can you take us to him." Cure Peach asked and begged. "We really need that scarab."
Tone and Khrisp looked at each other, and then they smiled and looked back at the Pretty Cure team. "Of course." Tone replied with a grin.
"We owe you a favor for helping us save our home." said Khrisp with a grin. "And cleaning up my hard worked pottery I made.
Peach smiled as her eyes sparkle, "Oh, thank you! Thank you! Thank you, you guys!" she shook Khrisp and Tone's hands very hard.
"Peach… you're overdoing it." Cure Pine said in embarrassment.
A few minutes passed as the Pretty Cure team followed Khrisp and Tone down the street heading towards where Khrisp's father works. Along the way, Matt asks the two leaders a question, "Hey Khrisp, Tone," The two heard him, "Just asking, but since when did you two became so close together?"
Khrisp and Tone looked at each other and smiled. Khrisp starts to talk, "Well I live here in this town, just making pottery because that's my dream goal. When one day I encountered Tone who just visited at my dad's work, said he wanted a place to stay during his training. We became fast friends as we enjoyed together playing games and exploring many different things that exist here in Clay Outpost."
"Training?" Cure Rhythm pondered.
"Yeah," Tone replies, "you see I was born in Pigment Village just like Tint. But Tint and I are in training to achieve our goals. My goal is to become a great and reliable fairy to work in royalty of Rainbow Castle. And my first task is to explore all the areas of Spectrum Land and learn about their culture. And right now I'm here in Clay Outpost trying to learn as much as possible about Yellow Desert's history and culture."
"Oh! That's a big dream." Cure Happy said in surprise.
"Indeed," Cure Mint followed, "I hope you reach your dream very well."
"Wait a minute," Cure Beat interrupts, "you said you and Tint are in training together to achieve your dream goals." Tone nodded in agreement. "But if that's true and your working hard to become a reliable fairy in Rainbow Castle…," Beat turns to Tint, "then what is Tint's dream goal?" The team turned to Tint as she makes a concern look.
"You also said you got this training from the same class together, you and Tint." Cure Aqua pointed out considering she is the Pretty Cure of Intelligent. "What class is that?"
Tint didn't want to answer because she is too shy to tell the truth, but Tone wasn't afraid to say the word. "Well if you must know, we fairies are students of Queen Chroma and her teaching people."
The team blinked in surprise. "You're students of Queen Chroma?" Cure Princess said in surprise.
"Now that you mention it," Matt said as he tries to remember something, "Sage Mark from Pigment Village said Tint is one of the Queen Chroma's best students."
"That's right." Cure White followed, "That must mean Tint's training must be really special than yours Tone." Tone nodded in agreement again.
"So if that's true," Cure Sword said, "then Tint what is your dream goal out of your training?"
Tint remained silent, but the team is very curious about her. Tint then flew in front of the team and calmly replies, "Well…, I don't want to tell you yet because I'm just too shy to say it, but I can say is that I'm working really hard in aiding and traveling with you Pretty Cures as we save the areas of Spectrum Land and collect the Wonder Colors. Once this is over, my big mission the queen gave me will be complete, and Queen Chroma can grant my heart-filled desire."
"What desire is that?" Cure Peace pondered.
Tint didn't reply, and she looks at Tone. "Please don't them." She said to Tone, "I tell them when…"
"No problem," Tone replied with a wink, "if it means that much to you, then your dream secret is safe with me." Tint smiled. The whole team looked at each other, still wondering what Tint's dream is, but it will still remain a mystery.
"Hey everyone, we're here." Khrisp announced to the team. The team stopped and looked up to where Khrisp is looking at. And in their view they see a large dark green tent with many knick-knacks, small furniture, and other stuff lying on the floor on a huge rug that's in front of the tent. There are people looking through the products and objects that are on the floor. There is also a sign in front of the tent that says, Dusty's Flea Market Tent. The team got closer to the tent and looked around.
"A flea market?" Cure Muse wondered as she observes the items on the rug.
"All this stuff looks old." Cure Dream said.
"Well it is a flea market." Milky Rose pointed out, "It suppose to have old stuff that people used before."
Khrisp then calls out, "Hey dad, the Pretty Cures want to see you."
There was no response for a few seconds, but then… "Oh, is that so?" a man said. The man appeared out of the tent and stepped into view for the Pretty Cure team, Khrisp, and Tone. He is about five and half feet tall, he wears a black woolly cap on his head with his dark brown sideburn hair sticking out. He wears black sun-rays glasses and has wrinkles on his cheeks. He wears a brown shirt with its sleeves torn off, blue short pants that's torn to his upper level of the knees, and wears tan sandals. "Hi there Pretty Cures, and welcome to my shop." he greeted to the team, "I'm Dusty of course and I'll be happy to help. So, what can I do for you?"
The team looked at each other deciding who should go up and asking first. Cure Moonlight steps up toward Dusty, "We're looking for something important that will help us on our mission. Do you know anything about the Golden Scarab?"
And with that, Dusty twitched and lowers his sunglasses. "Did my son tell you?" Moonlight nodded in response. Dusty then looked at the rest of the team as they are eager to find the Golden Scarab. He puts his sunglasses back on his eyes. "I knew my son would be very helpful into finding you Pretty Cure saving our world. And since you saved our town, I will definitely tell you where to find the scarab."
Everyone smiled. "You mean it!?" Cure Lovely said in great happiness.
"SSHHH!" Dusty shushed. "Quiet!" He looked around only to see a few of his observing customers seeing Lovely after her shout. Then the customers went back looking at the items of the shop. Dusty looks back Lovely with a firm look on his face. "Yes I will tell you," he said quietly, "but not in the open public. There are people out there with very good hearing. It's best I tell you inside." Dusty looked at his son, "Khrisp, be on the lookout for the store and any hearing intruders." Khrisp saluted. "Pretty Cures, come inside the tent." Dusty went inside the tent, and the team followed him inside.
Once everyone is inside Dusty's tent, the team gathered around Dusty as he explained. "Now that were in good place where no one can hear us, I tell you Pretty Cure folks where the scarab is." The whole team listened. "I might be a flea market salesperson, but when it comes to finding secret things for an important people, then I'm your man. Listen up closely and I'm only going say this once. To find the Golden Scarab, you must first go to this juice bar just not far from here that sells refreshing drinks and shakes. You can't miss it. The bar has a front board sign with a glass cup on it. Once inside, look for a waitress in the back of the bar that has ruby earrings and has red hair in the style of a ponytail. You got all that?" The team nodded. "Good, once you meet her, here's what you do next…" Dusty explained everything to the team inside his tent.
After Dusty is done explaining, they all left the tent as the Pretty Cures, the fairies, Matt, and Tint head toward the town's pub. Dusty came out last, and he calls to them. "Now be careful Pretty Cures, there are many dangers and challenges waiting for you to face here in Spectrum Land." he warned.
"Don't worry Dusty," Cure Sunshine replied with a smile, "no matter what difficulty we face, we'll keep going until we fully succeed." Khrisp and Tone see the Pretty Cures that are about to leave as the two say their partings to the team.
"Well, good luck Pretty Cures." Khrisp said, "I'll be rooting for you."
"See ya Pretty Cures," Tone said, "see you Tint. Good luck on your training."
"Thanks Tone," Tint replied, "I know I will succeed."
And the Pretty Cure team left the market leaving Khrisp, Tone, and Dusty waving good-bye to them. "Take care Pretty Cures, and good luck." Dusty said.
After walking for ten minutes, the Pretty Cure team came across the juice bar that has the sign on it. The bar's front sign had a drinking glass cup on it. There were two small trees on each end where the doors are. The team stared at the place before they entered.
"Is this the place?" Cure Pine asked.
"It has to be." Cure Aqua responded. "This place matches the description from what Dusty said."
"Well, let's go inside everyone." Cure Fortune commands. The team nodded as they went into the bar.
When they got inside, they looked around and see a lot of people talking and drinking at their tables and booths. The place is like a little restaurant with a bar in the back of the room. There were also some ceiling fans cooling down the place, and waiters and waitresses in their aprons taking orders from their customers.
"Wow, this place sure is crowded-desu." Coffret stated.
"No doubt-ropu." Syrup followed.
"Now remember Pretty Cures, be on the lookout for that waitress that Dusty told us." Matt reminded to the team.
Everyone looked around to find her, until one of the Pretty Cures spotted her. "Ah, is that her? Over there." Cure Lemonade said.
The rest of the team looked to where Lemonade is pointing and sees a woman in the back of the room where the bar is. The woman looked like in her mid-20s and wears an Arabic dress, a red crop top, white shoulder puffs, gold bracelets each one on her wrists, a yellow collar on her neck, white harem pants, and red Arabic shoes. She has red ruby earrings and has red hair with gold hair band on her head with her hair in a ponytail style. The team blinked knowing that's the waitress they're looking.
"That must be her." said Cure Honey.
"Well, we now know what to do next." Cure Rosetta stated. Everyone nodded in agreement as they walked up to the bar.
"Thank you very much. Enjoy your drink." said the red hair waitress as she gave a male customer a tropical punch juice. After she gave the drink to her customer, she got her washcloth and wipes down the counter. She then looked up and notices the Pretty Cure team walking towards her. "Oh, Pretty Cures, and young man and fairies, welcome to Clay Outpost's drinking juice bar." The team arrived as some of the team sat on the stools, while the others stood standing. "Thanks for saving our town. My name is Ruby, and I'll be happy to take any order you girls, young man, and fairies you wish. What do you like?"
"Yeah, just one thing, and it's really important." Cure Black said. The team and Ruby stared at Black, only the team knows what she is going to say about the scarab. "…Can I have a delicious chocolate shake?" The team collapsed in embarrassment.
"Black! How can you think of food at a time like this-mepu!?" Mepple yelled as he is in his Heartful Commune form and is in Cure Black's carrying pouch.
"Hey, I'm hungry and thirsty. All that cleaning up in the town and searching that scarab thing made me lose a lot of my energy."
"Oh, Black…" Cure White said in little embarrassment. Shiny Luminous only smiled with little embarrassment.
"Certainly Miss," Ruby replied with a grin, "One delicious chocolate shake coming up!" She grabs a milkshake glass from inside the counter, and with quick dexterity hands, she made a chocolate shake with a cherry top in a snap. "Here you go."
Black's eyes sparkled, "Wah! Thank you!" She took the shake and starts sipping it.
Cure Rouge sighed, "Okay Cure Black, now you got your shake, can we—"
"Hey! I'll have a fruit punch please!" Cure Dream asked.
"Me too." Cure Lemonade.
"I'll have a vanilla shake please." Cure Marine begged.
"Eh!? Not you three!?" Rouge said in shock.
"Coming right up!" Ruby replied as she grabs the glasses and puts the drinks and vanilla shake in them in a flash. The glasses were filled and Ruby gave the drinks to the three Cures they ordered. The three Cures drank their beverages with big smiles on them.
The rest of the team got exasperation looks on their faces. Matt looked at the four drinking girls with confusion. "How can you girls be so hungry every time?" Matt said.
Cure Blossom puts her hand on Matt's shoulder as he notices her with her exasperation look. "That's just them, Matt-san." Blossom replied.
Matt looks back the girls who are drinking. "And also… how will you pay those drinks you order?"
The four drinking girls jolted in fright forgetting the thought they have no money. And if they do, what kind of money does Spectrum Land carry. But Ruby smiles, "Ha ha ha, no need to worry girls, and you too sir. For you Pretty Cures and friends of them, they're on the house."
The four girls that got their drinks sighed in relief. "Talk about a lucky break." Cure Marine said.
"You just got lucky Marine, that's all." Cure Ace pointed out.
With the girls getting what drink they want, the rest of the team nodded to each other. Cure Fortune steps forward to Ruby with a stern look on her. Ruby asks her with a smile, "Hey there Miss Purple. Is there anything else you girls, young man, and fairies would like?"
"Yes Miss Ruby," Fortune responded, "we all like one of those special make-your-own shake please."
"Coming up." Ruby gets out her checklist and pencil as she prepares to write their order. "Tell me what do like on your shakes?"
"We want a strawberry shake." Cure Muse said.
Ruby wrote down the first item on her list. "Okay… what else?"
"Whip cream on that." Cure Passion said next. Ruby continues to write.
"Chocolate sprinkles on it." Milky Rose said.
"And two chocolate straws in the shake." Cure Beauty finishes last.
"Okay ladies." said Ruby as she writes the last item on her list. She then grabs the first glass and is about to fill it up with the strawberry shake, until…
"Oh yeah! One more thing." Matt interrupted her.
"Yes, what is it?"
"Put a slice piece of lemon on our shakes."
"On the top of the cream?" She about to pull the lever containing the strawberry shake.
"No…" Matt looked at the Pretty Cures as they nodded to him. He then looks back to Ruby, "…on the rim…"
With those last words Matt said, Ruby suddenly jolted and froze. She then puts the glass down, let goes of the lever, and makes a stern look to the Pretty Cure team. She crosses her arms, and slowly speaks. "…A cloudy black day."
The team looked at each other and nodded. Then they looked at Ruby with a simple reply. "…A rainbow shines the way." said a few Cures and Matt in unison.
Ruby raised her right eyebrow after hearing what the team said. "Uh-huh, you know the secret password. That means one thing," Ruby looked around the room making sure no one is looking at her and the team, "you Pretty Cures are in search for the Golden Scarab." The team nodded in agreement. "I thought so. Only the heroes of Spectrum Land will obtained that scarab in order to retrieve and secure the Wonder Color Yellow. Tell me one thing, where did you get that secret password?"
"A guy named Dusty gave us the information." Cure Dream replies as she sips the last bit of her drink.
"Ah, that explains it. You see Dusty is a very good friend to the person who has the scarab. The owner of the Scarab said to Dusty that if there was a time Spectrum Land is in trouble and the Pretty Cures arrive to save our world, then he tells the heroes the location of Scarab."
"Huh, then it's a good thing Dusty has a son that knows the scarab and told us." Matt pointed out as he looks at the team. The Pretty Cures agreed with Matt.
Ruby looked around the room again making sure no one is looking at her and the team again. No one is looking, so Ruby speaks to the team, "Follow me Pretty Cures, and stay close." And the team did as they followed Ruby to the back of the juice bar and into the staff hallways.
After walking through the halls in the back of the bar, Ruby and the team entered a storage where all the ingredients for the drinks are being held and stored inside wooden boxes. The Pretty Cure team was wandering why they are in a storage room, but Ruby walks up to a brick wall that has enough space for her body to reach. The team looked at Ruby as she searches something on the opening wall. She found a brick that looks different from the others. She opens it revealing a lid with a hole inside the brick. "Sir, it's me Ruby." she said through the hole, "The heroes of Spectrum Land are here." She then closes the lid on the fake brick, and the team waited to see what happens next. Nothing happened so far, until all of a sudden the brick started to move causing the team to blink. And in a flash, the wall revealed a door leading to a hidden room. The Pretty Cure team was surprised. "Right this way Pretty Cures." Ruby said to the team and she walks through the door. The team looked at each other for a second, but then they looked at the door and walked into the hidden room.
Once everyone got inside, they looked around the room. It looked like an office room with the cabinets in the corner of the walls, an office desk near the back of the room, a ceiling fan with a huge light bulb, tables with pots on them, and a bookshelf containing files and books on them. The team kept looking around, until someone spoke up.
"Ah, welcome Pretty Cures." said with an Arabian accent. Everyone heard the voice and turned toward that sound. But all in their view is the back of a light brown chairman's chair, and Ruby is standing next to it. But a quick 180 degree spin and it revealed a man. He is wearing a man's Arabian garment and a white turban with a topaz gem in the front and on the center on of his hat. He is his in mid-40's , has small hair out of his chin, a short, split, and bushy gray mustache, he wears small glasses, and has bronze hair with little bangs sticking out of his turban. He smiles to see the Pretty Cures in his sight. "It's a pleasure to meet the foretold heroes of Spectrum Land. I'm Topaz, the owner of this juice bar, and the person who has the Golden Scarab in which you Pretty Cures seek."
"It's nice to meet you Topaz." said Cure Heart as she and the team bowed to him.
"We desperately need that scarab in order to find the Wonder Color Yellow of this desert." Cure Diamond stated, "Is it okay you can give it to us?"
Topaz makes a concern look to the team. "Well before I do, why do you need it?" The team blinked in confusion. "What's the reason you need the scarab?" The team looked at each other in little confusion, but they answered honestly.
"We need it so we can find the Wonder Color of this desert." Cure White explained.
"And we need that color and the other Wonder Colors in this world so not only we restore the Prism Diamond and save Spectrum Land, but so we can save all the world's colors in our galaxy." Cure Berry stated.
"We need it really badly," Cure Muse begged, "if not, all the worlds' color will disappear and every single life in our galaxy will lose their life and die."
"Please Mr. Topaz," Cure Dream begged, "We really need it."
Topaz looks at the team with his concerned look. He then turns around and thinks, "Well, Pretty Cures I would give the scarab to you, but I want to give you a warning." The team listened. "The scarab is supposed to locate a giant pyramid that's hidden in the middle of the desert, and inside it are a lot of deadly traps. Rumor has it that once you step inside the pyramid, you never come back out… alive." Some of the Cures and the fairies gulped in fear, and Matt makes a concerned look. "You might be Pretty Cures to save Spectrum Land, but will you take a dangerous risk like that?" The Pretty Cures looked at each other again thinking about this dangerous challenge while Matt is still concerned about the dangers in the pyramid. He is thinking that he shouldn't let the young girls get into such danger and find some other way to save Spectrum Land. There was a moment of silence for Topaz, so he speaks clearly to them, "I see you girls are struggled by this, I shouldn't give you this scarab-"
"NO!" someone shouted. The team, Matt, Ruby, and Topaz, heard the shout and turned towards the person who shouted. Cure Melody makes her confident and firm look as she speaks to Topaz, "It doesn't matter what danger we come across, we will find and retrieve that Wonder Color and save Spectrum Land once and for all. Sure I had to face hard times and difficult challenges, but as long as I have friends with me and I never give up, then I can overcome anything." She turns towards to other Suite Pretty Cure teammates. "Isn't that right, Rhythm, Beat, Muse?" The other Cures nodded in agreement.
"That's right." Cure Rhythm said, "As long as we believe in ourselves and work together as a perfect team, then we can solve and defeat any challenge that comes in our way."
"That's correct." Cure Beat followed, "It's like all of us working in perfect harmony." Cure Muse agreed.
Matt is a little shock of what the Suite Pretty Cure said, thinking that the girls will take the pyramid challenge. "We can vouch to that." said Cure Lovely. Matt turned and looks at Lovely and her team members.
"We also faced many challenges during our heroic adventure, but they didn't stop us." Lovely stated. "As long me and my friends are together and we believe that there is hope on the other side of an obstacle, then we can achieve anything we can mostly want. Right girls?" The other Happiness Charge Pretty Cures nodded in agreement.
"Same thing goes for us too." Cure Blossom stated as she and her members smiled in confidence.
"Us too." Cure Black grinned and winked with her Max Heart friends agreeing with her.
And Matt watched all the Pretty Cures as they really ready to take the pyramid challenge. "Pretty Cures…" Matt said in surprise. Even Tint who is with Matt was astounded by the Cures' bravery.
"Don't forget us too-coco." Coco said with a grin and courage.
"We may be small, but we're part of the Pretty Cure team, and we stick together to the end, even the toughest situations-ropu." Syrup followed.
"That's right," Ribbon said in confidence, "all for one, and one for all."
Matt was even more astounded for a bunch of small fairies to take on the pyramid challenge. "You guys…" Matt said in little shock. He and Tint looked at each other with little concern. But they grinned at each other knowing that Pretty Cures are bound to save Spectrum Land and their worlds.
Topaz stared at the confident Pretty Cures for a moment. He then turns to Ruby who is smiling knowing that the Pretty Cure team is willing to enter the pyramid and retrieve the Wonder Color Yellow. He smiled thinking the same thing. "I can see great determination and courage within you girls." Topaz says to the girls, "Maybe you have what it takes to save Spectrum Land." He then stood up from his chair and walks to one of the shelves containing textbooks and files on them. He reaches something deep within the shelf and pulls it out. It was a black box with two latches on it. He walks in front of the team, "Here it is Pretty Cures." He opens the lid of the box, and inside glowing is the one and only, the Golden Scarab. And no doubt to the Pretty Cure team, the mystic artifact does look like a scarab in gold with emerald eyes and the size of a hand. Topaz explains, "This scarab will guide you to the pyramid you're looking for in order to retrieve the Wonder Color Yellow. This scarab will make a beeping sound, and the faster it beeps, the closer you young ladies are getting to the pyramid. Please take good care of it, and good luck on your heroic journey."
"Thanks Topaz sir," Cure Honey responds, "And we will save Spectrum Land before you know it."
Cure Rosetta takes the scarab and gives it to Matt. "Will you hold on to this, since your bag is well secured?" she asked.
"Of course," Matt replied, "once we head out for the pyramid, I'll take it out again and use it as a tracking device." Matt puts the scarab in his message bag, and zips it up tight.
"I also wish you Pretty Cures good luck as well." Ruby said as she came forth next to Topaz. "To start off, you should go over the dune that's behind the oasis. I'll escort all of you out of the bar and you can begin your mission."
"Thanks Ruby." Cure Peace replies and bows. Ruby then escorts the Pretty Cures, Matt, Tint, and the fairies out of the secret office, and Topaz watches the team leave with a smile on his face.
Back at the entrance of Clay Outpost, Rusty is finishing tuning up his truck as he tightens a bolt. Once he is done, he stood up and closes the hood to his truck's engine. "Whoo! Those engine parts in there are tight as trying a reach a washer deep within a crack." said Rusty as he wipes the sweat off his head. "But she's now itchin to go. All we have to do is wait for the Purdy Cures to show up, right Musty old boy?" Arf! Musty barked as he is next to Rusty.
"Rusty! Musty!" someone shouted. The two cowboy folks heard the shout and turned toward the sound. And coming towards Rusty and Musty is the Pretty Cure team.
"Howdy Purdy Cures, did you get it?"
"We sure did," Cure Happy responded, "look."
Matt takes the scarab out of his bag and shows it to Rusty. "Ooo… now that's what I called a rare gold-nugget bug." he said in amazement.
Matt begins to explain, "This scarab will beep faster if we get closer to the pyramid that contains the Wonder Color. Think you can use it as a navigation guide?"
"Sure thing partner." Rusty replies as he grabs the scarab and looks at its gold beauty. "I'll put this on my dashboard of my truck. But first of all, where should we start looking?"
"There's a dune just behind the oasis we can go over and look." Cure Ace explains. "Our good informant explained."
"Alright then partners, hop in and let's move out. Yee-haw!" And everyone did as Rusty and Musty went into the tractor, and the Pretty Cure team went inside the trailer. Rusty starts the truck, and drives out to opening vast land of the desert. Rusty drives past the oasis that's behind the town and drives over the dune.
Back in town, Mayor Shellby, Dusty, Khrisp, Tone, Ruby, and Topaz were on top of the rooftops of the mud houses as they happily watch Rusty's truck drive off into the vast land of the desert. "May the bright holy colors of the rainbow shine your way Pretty Cures." the mayor said.
Out of the middle of the desert and nowhere, Rusty drives the truck while he uses the Golden Scarab as a navigation device as it slowly but surely started beeping knowing that he's on the right track. Musty watches the road as he sits in the passenger seat. But meanwhile in the passenger trailer, all the Pretty Cures and fairies are preparing themselves to face the challenge waiting in the pyramid, but Matt felt a little discouraged about the traps the pyramid contains. When Matt sees all the Pretty Cures and fairies feeling confident and no worries, he makes concern question to them.
"Hey Pretty Cures," Matt said. The team heard Matt and stared at him, "I'm a little bit worried about this pyramid that Topaz warned us. There are sorts of traps stored in that huge building. Aren't you girls, you know… at least afraid of that?" The team continued to stare at Matt, but then they all smiled at him.
"Well of course we're a little afraid of this pyramid we're going…" Cure Pine replies to Matt.
"But when it comes to be a true Pretty Cure warrior, you need to learn to keep moving forward no matter what dangers hold in store for us." Cure Love followed.
"What…?" Matt became so confused. "Why do you intend to keep going especially a task that looks and sounds dangerous?"
"It's because we love the people, our friends and family, and we want to protect them so much from any harm that the villains throw at them." Cure Blossom stated.
"And as long we have each other working as a team and believing in ourselves, no matter if we're together or apart, we can accomplish anything." Cure White clarified.
"You may not know it Matt, but our friendship of trust, compassion, integrity, honesty, courage, perseverance, and of course love, is the most important key of all of us Pretty Cures becoming famous legendary warriors of our country and world." Cure Moonlight explained.
Matt wonders, "friendship… huh?"
"That's right Matt-san," Cure Muse replies, "we all had our good times, bad times, and even times when we thought it was hopeless to win a battle. But as long we have our friendship and love together, we are an unbeatable team to overcome many challenges in our way."
"We might be young girls, but we are determined to save everyone's lives no matter what." Cure March stated.
Then after hearing all of the girls' encouraged speeches, Matt's little frightening mood disappeared and makes a surprise look. "Hmm… the power of friendship and love…" he said to himself.
Just then the truck came to a complete stop and the engines were turned off. The team noticed as if they have arrived. "Purdy Cures, and rest of you folks back there, we've arrived." Rusty said through the speakers inside the trailer. The team looked outside through the windows of the trailer to see the pyramid, but… there's nothing in sight. All they could see is the vast opening area of the desert in the middle of nowhere.
Cure Melody calls out to Rusty, "Rusty, I don't mean to be naïve, but I don't see anything in this desert area."
"Well Purdy Cures, come out and I'll tell you why." Rusty replies to the team in the trailer. The team didn't understand, but did what Rusty said and got out of the trailer.
Once the team is outside and in front of the truck where Rusty and Musty are, they looked around to find the pyramid. But it is still nowhere in sight. All they can see is tumbleweeds, cactuses, and plateaus from a far distance.
"I don't get it," Cure Berry said in confusion, "where's the pyramid?"
"Are we on the right track?" Tarte questioned as he looks around the vast desert.
"We have to be partners," Rusty responds, "Take a look at this here scarab." And everyone did as the scarabs eyes were flicking on and off, and the beeping sounds kept going at a fast rate. For sure, the pyramid is somewhere close by, but where exactly?
"I really don't get it." Cure Sunny complained, "Did that Topaz guy tricked us just to get us lost."
"Don't be silly Sunny," Cure Diamond replies, "why would he do something like that?" Sunny thought about it and admit she is wrong.
The team kept looking around the opening area of the desert to find the pyramid as the scarab kept beeping. Cure Dream slowly walks around still looking for the pyramid, until she trips over and lands in the sand. Her Pretty Cure 5 friends notice her and sighed.
"Dream, you okay?" Cure Lemonade asks.
"Yeah I'm fine." Dream replies as she lifts her face up with sand on her face and smiles. But as she opens her eyes, she sees something in the sand. It is some kind of delved slot covered with sand on top, but enough opening spots to see the slot. Dream became curious as she wipes off the sand covering the slot. When the sand is removed, there she sees the full and empty slot that's shape like a scarab. She's observes it carefully trying to figure out what that slot is for.
Everyone else looked around some more to seek the pyramid, but still couldn't find it in plain sight. Rusty still holds the scarab as it kept beeping constantly and its emerald eyes flicking on and off at a fast pace.
"Are you sure that scarab is not broken?" Cure Marine pondered.
"We just got it," Cure Beauty claimed, "there's no way it can be broken already."
"And this thing started blinking a while back after we the left the town for a few minutes." Rusty stated.
Everyone is still confused, but Dream kept wondering what the slot is for when she found it in the sand. But then…, something hit Dream. She looked back at the scarab Rusty is holding and looks back at the slot on the ground. For a girl who is not quite exactly bright, an idea came to her and figured something out.
"I don't know you guys." Matt said as he sighed in exhaustion, "Maybe we should try looking somewhere else. I think this area is a false alarm for the scarab." Everyone agreed with Matt and started to move out, until…
"Wait! Wait!" Cure Dream shouted and halted everyone. "I might know where the pyramid is."
Everyone jolted in surprise. "You do!?" Cure Rouge shouted in shock.
"Then where is it Dream!?" Milky Rose demanded.
"It's right under our noses this whole time." Cure Dream responded with a grin. Everyone became confused again.
"Wh-What do you mean Dream?" Cure Mint wondered.
Cure Dream went up to Rusty and asked him to lend the scarab to her. He did as he gives the scarab to her, and she returns to the spot where the slot contained. She faces to everyone, "This scarab is our ticket entry into the pyramid."
"What? I still don't understand." Cure Aqua said. "How's that scarab going to get us into the pyramid?"
Cure Dream still smiles and she then turns towards the slot as she crouches to it. "Just watch." she said. She places the scarab into the slot, and it fits perfectly into it. Dream smiles that the scarab fit into the slot, but after a few seconds, the scarab started to glow brightly as a beam of light appeared heading toward the sky. Dream jumped back in shock as everyone else is surprised to see the beam in their sight.
Back at Clay Outpost, the mayor, Dusty and his son, Topaz, and Ruby sees the beam from afar as they were in streets. Mayor Shellby smiles. "Looks like they found it." he says to himself.
The Pretty Cure team, Rusty, and Musty watched as the beam continued to shoot its light into the sky. Then gray clouds appear in the sky as if it is a sign of something big to happen. Everyone kept looking until… RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! The ground started shaking causing everyone to shake as well.
"What's happening!?" Cure Bloom shouted.
"I don't know!" Cure Egret replied.
"Hey! Look!" Cure Heart shouted as she pointed something toward the ground.
And everyone did as they see another but small light beam popping out from the ground that's a few feet away from the beam of the scarab. Just then, another small beam of light appeared. And then another, and another, and another, and another! Soon the whole area in the team's sight is covered with beams of light.
"Hey you guys!" Tarte shouted to everyone as she still shakes from the quake, "I'm getting the feeling something big is about to happen!"
"No doubt about it-kuru!" Candy followed.
"And we're about to find out-coco!" Coco followed.
And surely enough, something big is about to happen.
