Chapter 6: I Destroy an Underwater Dance Club

The dance floor started to glow the same fading white as before and the music roared loudly as I attempted to dance. I always avoided dancing because I was never good at it, always avoiding school dances or dance floors entirely. To say my dancing was a mess, was an understatement, the water on the floor made my new shoes slip and it looked like I was dancing on ice with my bare feet. I saw Triton walk across the dance floor, using his trident as a cane, and commenting about my dancing. "Look at his sloppy form, No grace or style!" The surrounding crowd continued to laugh and before I knew it, I was on my butt. Triton had put his trident between my legs and made me fall, "Not even using the water, what a fool". More laughter followed Triton's words, I was starting to rise from the water and was swiftly carried off the dance floor by a wave.

I clearly lost the challenge as the surrounding crowd swarmed the dance floor and began dancing again. I stood off to the side and tried to catch my breath, the music playing overhead was the typical dance song for any event, The Cha Cha Slide. Everyone on the dance floor filled together into a rather large block and started following the song, "To the left… Take it back now yall… One hop this time". I took my chance and jumped into the block and tried to line dance my way over to Triton. The dance block was packed, shoulder to shoulder, leaving no space to pass by easily. I pushed past a group of nymphs and received a black eye in return from a stray elbow, "Sorry Dude". After moving past a couple of lines of dancers and bruising some of my ribs, I eventually made it next to Triton, who looked over at me with disgust.

"Don't you have some daycare to go back to" Triton was cha-chaing real smooth and trying to stick his trident in between my legs, trying to trip me, but I was moving quickly around his stabs. "I didn't take you for a pole dancer" I said while grabbing ahold of my own trident, grabbing the top and swinging the end towards his legs. He jumped up, dodging my attack, then spun back into the dance block, leaving my reach. Clearly Triton was quick on his feet, and I would never catch him while he was still standing, that's when it hit me. I slammed the end of my trident against the dance floor, which changed to glow a bright green, and I focused on my feet. The little spouts of water made my shoes wet, but the inside of my shoes were dry. I focused on my shoes being clean then felt a turning in my gut as the water drained out of my shoes, leaving them completely dry even as they touch the wet dance floor.

As I stepped across the dance floor, I noticed that I was doing more of a glide with each step. My body started to feel cool, like a fall breeze blowing off the lake, the music started to make my body move more fluently through the packed crowd. People started to actually move out of my way and I suddenly noticed I was doing a small dance across the dance floor. I could feel water, running up and down my body, guiding my movements and suddenly I was the one dragging everyone's attention. Knowing now I could get Triton's attention, I started to let the water and music guide me. H2O, otherwise known as water. Seventy percent of humans are water or something like that but how much water is the son of the Sea God made of? Probably the weirdest thought to run through my head as I spin around at a giant water spout, that shot out fish, and landed in a half split.

I stood up from the ground and saw Triton pushing through the crowd, now dressed in scale like armor that glistened a metallic rainbow. "Quiet!" Triton's voice boomed over the cheering crowd and the following boom that radiated from the top of his trident knocked everyone to their butts. "So the kid can dance, big deal. Still doesn't beat the fact that no half-bloods are allowed in the club" Triton then pointed over at the entrance, where a sign showed different monsters in red circles with a line through it and a single human with text that followed 'NO HALF-BLOODS'. "So you're leaving one way or another" Triton's blue trident boomed once more signaling a fight. I guess I'll get my training one way or another, so a fight it'll be.

I slammed my trident down on the ground and it sent one big shock through the entire club. I noticed the fish and other water creatures outside started to swim away from the glass walls. "You must not know your history, my unfortunate brother. You think you stand a chance against me, even with my legs I could still squash you and not lose any sleep" Triton started to position himself into a battle stance, pointing his trident right at me. I returned the stance with my own and was ready for anything. Loud, clomping footsteps could be heard behind me, and when I turned around, I saw the giant one eyed bodyguard charging towards me, his big meaty hands reaching out towards me. I swung my trident around and knocked over the bodyguard by the legs then stuck the butt of my trident on the back of his head.

Triton then charged at me but before I could react, he stuck his trident in the ground and swung on it, sending a double legged kick right into my chest. I slide back against the dance floor, slamming my head against the glass wall. Getting back up to my feet, I could see Triton start to summon a wave from the little spouts, I started to look around for something to hide behind but was suddenly smashed by the conjured wave. I was drenched, back against the wall, and Triton was standing right above me. "Told you, now I get the pleasure of ridding Dad of this problem" Triton then raised his trident above his head, planning on impaling me, when I swung my trident around and stabbed Triton, right in his leg. Immediately, Triton fell down to the ground in pain, golden igor pouring out of his open wounds. Then I took the open moment and stabbed him in the other leg.

Triton started to crawl back to the dance floor but I made his grip slip on the floor when I banged my trident against the floor. The glass wall behind me started to crack and water started to spill slowly through the crack. "Hey Triton, how's this for an exit!" I took my trident and slammed it against the glass wall, instantly shattering it, sending a giant wave of water through the entire dance club. Laughing wouldn't be accurate, I was more cackling under the water at the destroyed dance club. Soon though, my neck was grabbed and slammed outside the underwater club into a giant boulder. Peering through my eyes, I could see Triton, now larger and sporting a dolphin tale. "You absolute waste of space, do you know how long it took to build that club!?" A big fist met my face and I started to feel myself black out from the pain. "Years wasted, all because of your stupid actions!" One more punch landed on my face and instantly I passed out.

Once again I found myself riding on the back of a Pegasus. We were swooping down towards the battlefield and I saw two different armies, divided across the battlefield, each wearing different types of armor. Down on the ground, Zeus and Poseidon were standing face to face, arguing about something, when a cloaked figure walked beside Zeus and struck Poseidon back with a fist. Poseidon slid back a couple hundred feet, only to stand back up and bark at the figure. "After all I've done for you, your brothers, even your mother", I almost fell off the back of the Pegasus as I saw a sea green trident, my trident, form into the figure's hand and shoot off a bright blue beam of energy. Poseidon then flew back another hundred feet and this time stayed on the ground.

A flash of lighting came down from overhead and Pegasus flew to the side, doing a barrel roll. I lost my grip on his back and started to fall towards the battlefield. As soon as my back hit the ground I started to hear cries of war. Both armies started to charge at each other and I noticed that some of these soldiers were as young as eleven. I then realized that the soldiers were all half-bloods. Each soldier started swinging their respective weapons at each other and I watched as one side tore through the other, leaving behind beaten, bloody bodies. The sight that was left behind was horrifying to say the least. More bodies than I could count stacked across the battlefield but the war still raged on as the two towering Gods fought each other. Poseidon's trident clashed against Zeus's lightning bolt and a large flash of light engulfed the battlefield, then I awoke on a torn apart cot.

I sat up in the cot and saw a small medical room filled with boxes. I tried to step off the cot but was surprised when my foot floated up in the air, then it hit me, I'm still underwater. I swam to the door across the room to open it and found nobody around. My injuries were completely healed and my clothes remained completely dry underwater. I swam through the hallway, still not seeing anyone, until the hallway led out to a courtyard. In the center of the courtyard laid a statue, surrounded and covered by moss and algae. "What is this place?" "This is Atlantis 2" Triton was swimming up from a nearby trench and in the water his features seemed more Godly. His hair was flowing in the water, his armor was now skin tight, giving his skin a scale reflection, his tail swam effortlessly behind him, moving in the same pattern as a dolphin.

"I'm sorry for earlier, I may have… overreacted" Triton now seemed more calm now fully submerged in the water. "A little" I went over to a directions sign and saw a map of Atlantis 2. From shopping malls, food courts, amusement parks, and even an underwater movie theater that plays movies twenty four seven. As much stuff that Atlantis 2 had, you think it would be in better condition. "What happened here?" I turned to face Triton, now seeing his sorrowful eyes as he scanned across the abandoned kingdom. "A story for another time, we have some training to do and a long swim ahead of us" Triton then slammed down his trident and the ground started to rumble then glow out a pattern in the shape of a seashell. The ground beneath us started to sink lower and began to fill with sand. "I hope you are good at fighting, rather than taking those cheap shots".

I wanted to press back on that comment and figure out how his tail isn't affected by my stabs to his legs. When I went to speak, a wave of sand knocked me off my feet and began to pile on top of me. I pushed off the sand and sprung back to my feet then stood my ground ferm for the next wave of sand.
