39. Treacherous Trolley Trek

Brown Mountains, a vast highland that consists of many mountains in the area. While many trees and bushes are grown at the base, the rocky mountains are as tall as skyscrapers. A few mountains are triangular-shaped, while most have jagged peaks. Mountainous birds flew past and between the mountain's gaps, reaching their nests within the highlands.

The mountain's base consists of a rocky valley sealing off a dirt path leading to Pigment Village and a tall Pine tree with a large painting of Pigment Village hanging on it. The painting shakes, and popping out of it is the Pretty Cure team, landing safely and arriving at Brown Mountains.

The team looked at the scenery as the mountainous winds blew toward them.

"OOO!" Urara said as she shivered from the mountain breeze, "It's pretty chilly here!"

"I agree," Reika says as she warms herself. "After dealing with the warm weather in other areas, we're now dealing with a cold atmosphere."

"Man!" Saki said with a complaint and warming herself, "We should've brought jackets for this."

"Wow," Hikari says with awe, "look at that…" Everyone sees where Hikari is looking, and they all see the tall mountains in their view. "Those mountains are very tall."

"It's like they can reach outer space-nya," Hummy said in awe.

"I don't think they can reach that high, Hummy," Ellen commented in concern.

Nao then speaks, "Well, now that we're here, where do we go?"

"I guess down this path," Inori said as she showed the dirt path. The team turned and noticed the path.

"Alright then, team," Tint said, "let's go and get the next Wonder Color."

Everyone agrees with Tint, and the team walks down the dirt path, heading deep into the mountains.

Back at Rainbow Castle's prison cells, many captives, including Queen Chroma and her loyal servants, are locked behind bars. The hostages looked out and down the halls to see many Blots patrolling the area. The Blots become serious and extra alert, while the prisoners are being edgy about the black humanoids' intense behavior.

Sketcher, along with the queen, Sheeta, a castle worker and knight, and a father and a son, watches the patrolling Blots pass by. Sketcher observes the Blots near the cell's bars as they have just passed their cell.

Sketcher then turns to her queen and says, "Their security is very tight."

Sheeta then says, "From what I heard, King Splat is growing impatient and edgy when he heard from his mole that the Pretty Cures have six Wonder Colors in their progress."

The castle worker hears and says, "Sounds like the Blot King is getting serious."

"For sure," the imprisoned knight agreed. "And I just heard from the Blots that they're working on some sort of secret weapon to overthrow the Pretty Cures for good."

The little boy hears and says in little fright, "Does this mean the Blots are really mad and going to destroy the Pretty Cures?"

The boy's father hears, but he comforts his son. "You must not think something like that," the father said. "The Pretty Cures made it this far. So if they get the last Wonder Colors and restore the Prism Diamond, they will come and save Spectrum Land and all of us."

"He's right," Queen Chroma heard and said. "We must believe in our magical heroes. You have my royal word, young one." The boy smiles at the queen.

Just then, Sature, the colorful parakeet, holds a note in its beak and appears at the prison cell's window. The queen and everyone else noticed the bird.

"Hey," Sheeta speaks, "it's Sature."

"And he's got something," Sketcher noted.

Sature then flies to Queen Chroma and lands on her shoulder. Sature gives the note to the queen, and she opens the small letter and reads it. Everyone else observed and anticipated the results. Queen Chroma gasped a little when she read every word on the small paper.

"Your majesty," the knight said in a bit of startled. "What's wrong?"

The queen takes a moment to pause and breathes. Then she turns to the other captives and makes a concerned look on her face.

"My loyal subjects," the queen said in worry, "you're not going to believe this."

"What? What is it?" The castle worker asked.

"It's about King Splat. He's not what we thought about him in the first place."

"What do you mean?" The father asked in a little panic. "What are you trying to say?"

The queen continues to speak, "At first, we thought he was some kind of being from a faraway and unknown land that infiltrated our home. But according to this message from Sage Mark, we were wrong.

You see, King Splat is really…"

Sketcher, Sheeta, and the other captives listened on Queen Chroma very carefully…

Meanwhile, back at the foot of Brown Mountain, the Pretty Cure team kept walking along the mountain path, heading toward their next destination. During the trip, they exited the mountains' valley forest and into the steep hilly opening, overlooking the vast land of the mountains' plains. The team then slowly climbs the mountainside while a few lose their breath.

"Whew! Is it me, or there's less oxygen to breathe up here?" Rin asked while catching her breath.

"You're not the only one," Iona speaks as she breathes heavily. "I'm winded as well."

Karen hears and says, "We must be reaching an altitude point where there's less oxygen in the air."

"I'll say," Kanade agrees. "I'm losing my breath just by speaking."

Slowly but surely, the Pretty Cure team loses their breath with every step they climb. The heroic team's uphill trail felt like there was no end. But within a few seconds, the team reached a rest-flat ground level. Every Pretty Cure girl, every fairy, and Matt Oda stopped momentarily to catch their breath heavily.

"Wowzers…" Matt said with a big gasp, "I thought that climb would never end."

"Man!" Saki said aloud, "I thought I would faint. I can feel my lungs tight and the wind almost knocking out of me."

Reika takes a good breath and then says, "Well, at least we made it to someplace flat."

"But…" Yayoi speaks, "where are we?"

After the team got enough resting energy, they looked up and observed. In their view is a large wooden entrance gate with a wooden arch with a sign on it. The sign described Trolley Trek Service.

"Trolley Trek Service…?" Ellen questions.

Yuri stands up and says, "We must've arrived at a transportation area."

"Maybe this trolley will get us to the next Wonder Color in these mountains," Setsuna suggested.

"Well, there's one way to find out," Honoka said.

The Pretty Cure team decided to walk into the transport area.

Once they passed the entrance gate, the team looked around the scenery. They all see a red trolley about 45 feet long. The trolley is on durable metal rails. There's also a service booth and some resting benches a few yards away from the trolley.

The Pretty Cure team analyzed the current scenery until they spotted two men not far from the trolley, standing near a rock pile on the rail tracks. Unfortunately, the pile is on the tracks, obscuring the path for the trolley. Nevertheless, the two men kept staring at the situation in concern.

"Look," Yuko called and pointed, "maybe those two guys can help us find the Wonder Color of this place."

"Well, let's check it out," Hime noted.

The team then walks towards their destination.

At the moment, the two men, one in a conductor's suit and the other in an engineer outfit, observed the pile of rocks on the tracks. Both men sigh and turn anxious.

"This is just great," said the man in the conductor's suit in exasperation. "How can we get to Crayon Point with this mess."

The young man in the engineering outfit replies, "Well, all I can say is this is going to take a long time to clear this."

The Pretty Cure team then shows up. "Hey," Love speaks to the men, "what's up?"

The two men heard and turned to the Pretty Cure team. Both guys are a bit startled by the team's presence. From the team's view, the conductor has a bushy brown mustache and a monocle on his left eye. And the engineer has a small black goatee and tiny wrinkles on his cheeks. Both men look about in their forties, a few feet taller than Matt.

"Oh, hi girls… and Mister and creatures," the conductor responded formally and calmly.

"What brings you young ones up here at this station?" the engineer asks in a low tone.

"We're here to look for the Wonder Color of Brown Mountains," Honoka responds. "Do you know where we need to go to find it?"

Both men heard Honoka's question and blinked.

"Wonder Color…?" the engineer said in ponder.

"Wait…" the conductor said suspiciously, "who are you, kids?"

"Uh, technically, most of us are teens," Reika corrected. "But we are the Pretty Cures here to save Spectrum Land."

"The Pretty Cures!?" The conductor and the engineer flinched in surprise. But the conductor adjusts his monocle, turns serious, and then says, "How do we know you're not lying to us?"

Aguri then turns to Matt and says, "Matt, can you–?"

"I already got it," Matt immediately replies. He brought the Wonder Color Case and showed it to the conductor and the engineer.

Both men saw the magical case, and they gasped.

"Good Gracious!" the conductor said in shock. "You are the Pretty Cures!"

"Wow!" the engineer said with joy, "The heroines of Spectrum Land have come to save us from the evil Blots."

Yayoi smiles and says, "Now that you know who we are, can you help us find the Wonder Color of these mountains?"

"Why, of course, we can," The conductor says with a grin. The team jumped for joy-

"But we can't."

The team collapsed to the ground in shame.

"What!?" Kurumi said in little anger. "But you said you're going to help us!"

The conductor scratches his head and says regretfully, "Well, it is our intention to help the heroes of Spectrum Land with whatever requests they ask to save our world. But…"

The engineer continues, "We have a problem." He and the conductor turned the situation. The Pretty Team looked to where the two men were facing. "As you see, there was a rockslide just a moment ago, and now a huge rock pile is on the tracks. And we can't move our trolley unless we clear the path."

The heroic team observed the blockage; the pile is about five feet high and four feet wide. The pile is large enough to cover a section of the trolley's track.

"It happened without warning," the engineer continues. "Now, with this messy and irritating obstacle in the way, we won't be able to reach Crayon Point."

"Crayon Point-daze?" Glassan asked.

"Yes," the conductor replies, "that's the small but thriving town of Brown Mountains. And you won't be able to get there without us.

Ah! Where are my manners? My name is Conductor Stone, by the way."

"And I'm Engineer Boulder. At your service, Pretty Cures," he greeted and tipped his engineer hat.

"Nice to meet you, Stone-sama and Boulder-sama," Tsubomi greeted and bowed a few times.

"Tsubomi, you don't have to be polite all the time," Erika said in embarrassment.

"Maybe we can help," Itsuki suggested. "Why don't we all work together and remove that rock pile. That way, we can use the trolley and get to Crayon Point soon."

"That's a good idea, Itsuki," Hime agrees.

"Gee, Pretty Cures," Stone said humbly. "You're too kind."

Stone and Boulder then guide the Pretty Cure team to the rock pile. Once everyone got near the pile, they all turned anxious as they observed.

"What a mess!" Tint said in a complaint. "This will take forever if wanna get to Crayon Point."

"Tint? Is that you?" A voice spoke, and the whole gang turned to the source.

Appearing behind the rocky rubble is Shade, one of Tint's friends.

"I thought it was you, Tint," Shade said with delight.

"Shade!" Tint said with a grin. "What are you doing here?"

"I came here to Brown Mountain to investigate the mole working for the Blots. Then I heard about the rockslide that blocked the trolley tracks. I was just going to make a special potion is reduce the pile and clear the tracks."

"Shade's right," Engineer Boulder said and agreed. "He just happened to be around right after the rockslide ended."

Tint heard, and then she replied, "Well, Shade, we came at the right time. With all of us here, we can remove this debris within a few minutes. Right, Pretty Cures."

"No doubt," Mana agrees. "So let's get this over with, so we can head straight to Crayon Point." Everyone agrees with Mana.

Immediately, the Pretty Cure team, Shade, Conductor Stone, and Engineer Boulder steadily remove every rock from the pile. Like Tint said, in a matter of short minutes, the rock pile slowly shrank and cleared the trolley's tracks. Next, they place the rocks up against a dirt mound to move them aside.

Urara picks up one of the last rocks left on the tracks. But when she did…

"Ouch!" Urara shouted and alerted everyone. The pop idol Pretty Cure girl looks at her left hand and sees a slit with small blood on her palm.

"You okay?" Matt asked as he appeared next to Urara and observed her hand.

"Yeah, but it hurts…"

Shade then appeared and observed Urara's hand. After careful examination, he says, "Well, the good news is it's not a deep cut. Here…" Shade brings a small cloth and then dabs Urara's cut to soak and hold the bleeding. "Just don't move your hand for a few seconds."

"Okay…" Urara said calmly.

After a few seconds pass, Shade removes the cloth and wraps a bandage around Urara's hand, covering her cut.

"There we go," Shade said with a grin. "Just don't let it get infected."

"Thanks, Shade," Urara happily responds.

"Wow, Shade," Tint said and appeared, "You're the best mentor and friend I've got. I didn't know you knew medical treatment."

"Well…, it's essential to know how to take of yourself in medical situations."

Nozomi and Komachi appeared next to Urara.

"You're going to be okay, Urara?" Nozomi asks in concern.

"Of course," Urara replies with a grin. "This cut is not going to stop me."

"Well, that's good," Komachi said with little relief.

"Nice work, everybody!" Conductor Stone called. He alerted everyone around the area. "Because of your dedication and efforts, the tracks are rock-free." As proof, every rock on the tracks has been moved away.

"We are now ready to head to Crayon Point," Engineer Boulder declared.

The Pretty Cure team cheered in success.

Tint is thrilled to see this great outcome. She then sees Shade again face-to-face.

"Say, Shade," Tint speaks, "Why don't you come with us? We can use your experts on the Pretty Cure team."

Shade calmly replies, "Thanks Tint, but I've got bigger fish to fry. I'm still investigating the mole that's working for the Blots. And the captain of the Rainbow Castle guards needs my help. But I think you guys can handle it from here. After all, you made it this far with six Wonder Colors, from what I heard."

Tint turned a little sorrowful since Shade wasn't tagging along. But she then grins and says, "Alright, Shade… Then you just be careful not to get caught." Shade winked at Tint in response.

It didn't take long for the Pretty Cure team, Conductor Stone, and Engineer Boulder to board the big trolley car. Once everyone's seated, the conductor at the end of the car waves to the engineer who is in front of the trolley in the control room.

"AAAAAALL ABOARD!"

The conductor shouted, letting the engineer know. Boulder hears and pushes a lever. The trolley then starts to slowly move. It is electric powered from the rails, enabling the vehicle to move.

As the trolley moves, Tint and the Pretty Cure team see Shade waving goodbye to each other.

"Take care, Shade!" Tint called. "We'll see you back in Pigment Village."

"You take care, Pretty Cures! Tint!" Shade shouted back. "And good luck!"

The trolley then picks up at a steady speed as it continues towards the vast opening mountains. Shade calmly watches the trolley, with the Pretty Cure team in it, head into the high-altitude mountains.

Time passed, and the trolley moved through and along the steep mountains' hillside, heading towards Crayon Point. The Pretty Cure team inside the car looks out the trolley's windows and observes the mountains and the clouds. Some of the girls and the fairies are awed by the high-altitude scenery.

"Wow!" Yayoi said in amazement, "I can't believe how high up we are."

"We must be at least above two thousand feet of elevation," Honoka declared.

"Whoa," Yuko said with little surprise, "now that's pretty high."

Sitting quietly, Yuri sees the conductor standing firmly, keeping everybody safe and on guard.

"Excuse Stone," Yuri asks as she gets the conductor's attention, "about how much longer do we need to go to Crayon Point?"

Conductor Stone heard and replied, "Well, at this steady pace, we should arrive in about two or three hours. I know you Pretty Cures have a mission within your time constraint. But if we go too fast, we will have a big chance of derailing off the tracks for those sharp turns around the mountains. And believe me, you do not want to go there."

"Please, don't mention that," Rin said in a great fuss. "We all had that experience before."

The conductor heard and blinked. "What? What happened?"

"I said don't mention it." The conductor heard Rin's stern tone and nodded slowly.

Matt Oda has his head down and is lying on his right hand as he feels a bit dizzy. Then, he looks up and sees the conductor.

"Hey, Stone," Matt says as the conductor hears him, "This high altitude makes me feel a bit light-headed. Can I step outside and get some fresh air?"

"Yeah, sure," Stone replies with a calm grin, "there's a platform at the back of the trolley you can step out for a breather."

"Thanks, Stone."

"I'll come with you too, Matt," Tint said. "I want to step outside as well."

Matt then stands up and walks toward the back end of the trolley. Tint floats along next to Matt Oda.

Once Matt and Tint arrive at the trolley's back end, the gentleman opens the door and steps onto the platform. Tint follows behind the gentleman, and then Matt closes the door. Matt rests his arms on the handrails, and Tint sits on them. Both looked out to the vast openings of Brown Mountains.

"It's a nice view from up here," Matt commented. "It's almost like you can see the whole Spectrum Land."

"I know…" Tint agrees as she observes the vast scenery. "It's such a wonderful place that's colorful and full of inspiration. But, to think, when I complete my mission of helping you Pretty Cures save Spectrum Land…

I can become a full-fledged princess

…watching over this beautiful world."

But that last comment from Tint got Matt curious as he turned to her. He kept staring, and thoughts clouded his mind. Tint noticed Matt's staring, which made her wary.

"Uh, Matt?" Tint said in a cautious tone, "What's wrong?"

"Uh, it's nothing," Matt replies, "but I've been thinking something…"

"About what?"

"About you, Tint." The pink butterfly fairy blinked from Matt. "You're a fairy born and raised in Pigment Village, right?" Tint nods in response. "Well, what made you decide to become a princess? I mean, you're one of the queen's honorable students. But to sit next to the majesty in the throne room? What brought that up?"

After hearing Matt's question, Tint ponders her motive as a princess. But she answers, "I… don't really know…" Matt turned a little bewildered. "But somehow… it was like… a deep feeling that I always wanted to be a princess.

I don't know where I got the idea of becoming a princess. But at one point, this intention popped into my head of wanting to become a princess. It's like Something from inside a locked chest just broke out and made contact with me.

And after that, all I could think of was becoming a wonderful princess to protect and keep peace in Spectrum Land, just like Queen Chroma.

Is that why you want to ask about me, Matt?"

Matt looked away for one moment. Then he looks back at Tint and says, "Something like that… But I noticed that Sage Mark has acted protectively over you ever since you collapsed from those Wonder Colors twice."

"Yeah…, that part feels strange, considering those dreams I had too."

Matt then breathes and says to Tint, "Tint, I have another question for you." Tint listened…

"Who are you?"

Tint then flinches after hearing Matt's surprising question. "Wha…!? Matthew! I'm Tint. Why would you say that!?"

"Because Tint, I don't think…"

Suddenly, Matt immediately stopped speaking as he heard Something. He looked out towards the distance.

"What is Matt?" Tint asked and noticed his expression.

"Do you hear that?" Tint heard and turned to where Matt was looking.

Both looked out toward the distance of the tracks and down the mountain hills. Then, carefully perking up her ears, Tint can hear something from afar.

"Hey, I hear it too," Tint stated. "What's that?"

Matt listened carefully for the faint sound. He heard it and answered, "It sounds like… steam…" The young gentleman keeps hearing the faint steam sound, but then he looks up and spots something from afar. Tint also noticed.

Far down the mountain hill, black smoke came puffing and spewing toward the sky. As Matt observes the smoke, it gets bigger, indicating it is coming closer. Then something else appeared with the black smoke in the next few seconds.

A round and black object appears, coming up the mountain hill and onto the tracks. There is also a light shining within the center of the black object. It gets bigger and bigger, telling Matt and Tint it's getting closer.

Tint sees it but turns to ponder. Tint asks, "What in the…? What's that?"

"I'm not sure," Matt responded. "Hang on; I got my binoculars."

Matt quickly brings out his binoculars from his messenger bag and puts them over his eyes. In his view with the binoculars, he sees a blur vision of the round black object from afar. But Matt adjusts the binoculars' focus lens for a better view. Once he gets the binoculars at the right focus view, he reports to Tint the following.

"It's a train," Matt stated as he observed.

"A train?" Tint said and wondered. "But I didn't see a train back at the resting station where we first took off."

"Yeah, so where did…?" Matt uses his binoculars to get a better look at the train coming towards them. But after he did..

"OH NO!"

"What, Matt!?" Tint said in great concern.

"We've got trouble!"

To show proof, Matt lends his binoculars to Tint. The butterfly fairy grabs them and looks into them, staring at the train coming to the trolley. After careful examination, Tint sees what's on the train and…

"BLOTS!"

Tint shockingly sees the Blots as she analyzes in her head. The Blots are on the ironed train, a little bigger than the trolley, rolling on the tracks. Two Blots, one on each side of the engine train, stuck their upper body out of the window and stared at the trolley. Attached to the engine train is a steel platform containing more Blots and Meany Blots armed with weapons. The iron horse with the Blots is slowly approaching the trolley every second.

Matt and Tint panicked.

"They're coming this way!" Tint yelled.

Matt turned back to the trolley's back door. "Conductor Stone! Stone! STONE!"

The conductor heard from inside the trolley and then suddenly appeared via the back door. He sees Matt and Tint.

"Sir Matt," Stone said with a bit of surprise, "What's wrong?"

"Look!" Tint shouted and passed the binoculars to the conductor.

Conductor Stones grabs Matt's binoculars and looks to where Matt and Tint are pointing. After he gets a good view.

"Bashing Boulders…!" Conductor Stone said in great shock. He then turns around and spots a bell hanging on a hook. Quickly, Stone grabs the rope and rings. DING! DING! DING!

The loud ringing sound alerted the Pretty Cure team and Engineer Boulder. Boulder turned around to the bell and saw Stone waving in a panic.

"Pick up the speed!" Conductor Stone yelled. "We're being tailed!"

After Boulder hears Stone's warning, he looks up and sees what's following the trolley. He then sees the train and its smokey steam coming toward the trolley. Boulder turned shocked, and went back to his controls on the panel. He immediately twisted knobs, pushed and pulled levers, and pressed different buttons. The trolley then picks up its speed.

Startled by the sudden moving speed, the Pretty Cure team turned cautious. Every girl and fairy became concerned.

"Whoa, what's going on?" Yuko said in little fear.

"How come we're speeding up-daze?" Glassan wonders.

Matt, Tint, and Conductor Stone suddenly stepped inside the trolley with horrified faces. The Pretty Cure team noticed them.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Mai asked.

"Pretty Cures!" Tint shouted, "We've got trouble!"

"Trouble?" Inori says in confusion. "What trouble?"

"It's the Blots!" Matt exclaimed. "They're right behind us!" Then, hearing from Matt, the girls and fairies gasped.

Conductor Stone dashed to the front of the trolley and arrived at the control panel with Boulder on the controls.

"Boulder!" Stone shouted, "Whatever you do, don't stop the trolley!"

"Loud and clear," Boulder replies, "but we must slow down a little for the turns."

"Whatever! Just keep the trolley going!"

While Stone and Boulder are at the controls, Matt and Tint lead the Pretty Cure team to the back of the trolley. Looking out the windows and on the platform, Matt and Tint pointed to the train with Blots. The train approaches the trolley, and the Pretty Cure team is shocked.

"How in the world did they get a train up here!?" Setsuna said in stun.

"Who cares!" Kurumi yelled. "Right now, we've got to deal with those Blots before they run us over."

"Agreed," Aguri said. "Everyone! Transform!"

Instantly, every Pretty Cure girl brought out their own transformation device. In a flash, all the girls turned into Pretty Cure warriors. Then, most of the Pretty Cures quickly got on top of the trolley for more footing and area. Finally, the magical warriors enter their fighting stances as the Blot train is now half a mile from the trolley.

"Here it comes-ropu!" Syrup screamed.

Then a Meany Blot wearing an engineer's hat on top of the train's engine steps forward and swings his arm towards the trolley. He signals the rest of the Blots to attack. Immediately, a group of Meany Blots jumped from their Blot Train and flew over the trolley. The Pretty Cure team spotted the ambushing Blots as the evil black goons now landed on top of the trolley. The Pretty Cure and the Blots are face-to-face and then engaged in a brawl.

The fairies observe the battle from inside the trolley.

"Be careful, Pretty Cure-kuru!" Candy shouted.

"Don't lose your footing-coco!" Coco warned.

The Pretty Cures heard their fairies' warning but focused on defeating the Meany Blots. A few Cures got near the edge of the trolley's roof and almost fell off, but they regained their balance. The Meany Blots are aggressive, but they are still no match for the Pretty Cures, for the feminine warriors outwit the black goopy goons, shove them off the trolley, and fall to their doom.

The Meany Blot with the engineer hat grits his evil jagged teeth in irritation, seeing the Pretty Cures are on their feet. The head leader Blot turns to the other Meany Blots as they notice his expression. GWOP-PO-PO! He gave a command to his followers, and they nodded and saluted.

On the trolley's rear platform, Matt observes the fight between the Pretty Cures and the Blots. But he then turns around and sees the Blot train again. From his view, Matt sees a three-slot launcher appearing on top of the Blot Train. And slowly popping out of the launcher are three grappling hooks. The launcher aims at the trolley. The lead Blot called out, and then… Boom! The hooks are fired, heading right toward the trolley.

Matt flinched and turned to the team. "LOOK OUT!" he shouted.

The Pretty Cures heard Matt's scream and turned back. The magical warriors see the hooks falling towards the trolley, but… Clang! Clang! Clang! The hooks landed and pierced the trolley. The impact of the hooks shook the electric-powered moving vehicle making everyone on the trolley almost lose their balance.

Once the hooks are attached sturdily to the trolley, the Meany Blot, with the engineer hat, turns to his crew and signals with a waving arm downward. The Blots in the engine room noticed, turned down the dials, and pulled levels. Then the Blot Train starts to move slowly, which creates a drag on the trolley.

The Pretty Cure team on the trolley, along with the conductor and the engineer, noticed and felt the tug. Then the moving cable car started to rumble like something stopping it.

"What was that!?" Conductor Stone said in a panic.

Before Engineer Boulder replies, he looks at his control panel and spots his speedometer. His eyes widen to see the needle on the dial is dropping speed.

"Stone!" Boulder shouts, "Something is causing our trolley to slow down!"

Stone gasped. "What!?"

"I'm giving all the power I got, but we're still dropping!"

Conductor Stone turned concerned, and he rushed back to the platform in the back of the trolley. Stone appeared, and Matt, Tint, and the fairies noticed the conductor.

"Stone, what's wrong?" Tint asked.

"We're losing speed!" Stone said in a panic. "Something is causing our trolley to drag us down!"

Matt, Tint, and the fairies turned shocked. But the gentleman looks up and sees the hooks attached to the trolley. He then flinched in realization.

"The hooks!" Matt shouted and alerted everyone. "The Blots are using the hooks and their train to slow us down!"

"Then we need to rip them off!" Tint commanded.

"Hang on! I got something." Matt quickly searches his messenger bag. Instantly, he pulls out a Swiss Army knife. "This will slice off the hooks' ropes."

"I'll get the emergency ax!" Stone declared and rushed back inside the trolley.

Without delaying, Matt Oda flips open the knife end and starts to cut off the first hook's rope. Slowly the knife starts to tear through the rope.

The Meany Blot Engineer noticed Matt's interfering and jolted. But it turns irked and calls his cohorts to stop Matt's meddling. A few Blots appeared and leapt towards to Matt.

Tint and the fairies noticed the ambushing Blots.

"Matthew!" Ribbon shouted to the gentleman, "Watch out-desu wa!"

Matt looks up and sees the incoming Blots about to attack Matt. The young gentleman braces himself for protection…

"Mint Protection!" Cure Mint appears in front of Matt and creates a transparent green barrier, encasing herself and Matt.

The Blots crashed onto the barrier and then fell off it. A couple Blots fell toward their fallen doom, and a few bounced back onto the hillside of the mountain.

Cure Mint cancels her barrier protection and turns back to Matt. "Matthew, you okay?" she asked.

"Yeah, thanks, Mint," Matt replies with relief.

In the trolley's control panel, Engineer Boulder observes the speedometer and sees the needle still decreasing the trolley's speed.

"Dag Nabbit!" Boulder shouted, "We're still dropping! At this rate, the drag is going wear out the trolley's wheels!" Boulder looks back and sees the train coming closer to the trolley. "C'mon, Pretty Cures!"

Suddenly back at the platform, Conductor Stone appeared with the emergency ax. He pulled the ax over his head and immediately swung it fast. Stone made a hard chop, instantly cutting the rope to one of the hooks. At the same time, Matt's Swiss Army knife slices through the rope and cuts off the hook. Both ropes instantly snapped off and flicked right back to the Blot train.

However, the conductor notices only one hook is still attached to the trolley. And it's on the roof of the trolley, where the Pretty Cures are battling.

"We've still got one hook left!" Stone exclaimed.

Matt hears and looks up. He sees the hook on the roof. "I'll go get it!" Matt stated.

The young gentleman immediately heads the ladder and climbs to the roof of the trolley. The fairies, Tint, Stone, and Cure Mint, watch Matt with concern.

"Matthew, be careful!" Mint warned him.

Matt then arrives on the roof and observes the fight between the Pretty Cures and the Blots. In Matt's view, the battle looked intense, and neither side was backing down. But in the next second, Matt spots the hook in the middle of the trolley's roof. Matt turned concerned but firmly, knowing what he must do.

Cures Melody and Berry pull back to recover and are right in front of Matt.

"Melody! Berry!" Matt called them and got their attention.

"Matthew?" Melody with a little surprise.

"Why are you up here?" Berry asked.

Matt points to the hook and explains, "I need to get to that hook so I can cut off the rope. Can all of you clear a path and protect me as I try to get close?"

The two Cures see the hook. Then both turned firm.

"Gotcha, Matt," Melody said.

"Say no more," Berry stated.

Melody and Berry jump into the fray again, but at the same time, they alert the other Pretty Cure warriors.

"Everyone!" Melody shouted, getting everyone's attention, "Protect Matt! He's going to cut off the hook's rope!"

"Copy that, Melody!" Rouge agrees.

Every Pretty Cure warrior heard and forced the Blots to clear a path for Matt to reach the last hook that pierced into the trolley's roof. Matt then steps onto the roof and dashes to the hook.

As Matt gets closer to the hook every second, Blots attack the young gentleman to prevent him from cutting the rope attached to the last hook. Matt gets surprised, but the Pretty Cure warriors popped in and protected Matt in time. After that, Matt cautiously kept crawling to the hook with the Pretty Cures protecting him from all different angles.

The young gentleman made it to the hook and started to slice off the rope attached to the eye of the hook. Using all his strength, Matt's knife cuts through the rope and slices off the hook. All the ropes attached to the hooks have finally come off.

Freed from the hooks, the trolley gains speed and slips away from the Blots' train. The last loose rope flies back toward the Blots and their train. The black goons turned furious to witness Matt Oda interfering.

The engineer notices on his speed dial that the trolley is increasing speed.

"We're picking up the speed!" Engineer Boulder stated to the conductor. "Matt must've detached the last rope."

"Alright, Mr. Gentleman," Conductor Stone complimented.

Back on top of the trolley, Matt Oda sees the Blot train slowly moving away. Matt knows the trolley is speeding up away from the train. A few Pretty Cure warriors smiled and witnessed Matt's action.

"Way to go, Matt!" Cure Sunny cheered.

Matt stands up and puts his pocket knife away. "No problem," Matt said.

At the moment, Cure Sword fights the last Meany Blot. She immediately did a kick on the Blot, pushing the black goon and losing its balance. Then the Meany Blot tumbles and rolls to Matt Oda. Bop! The Meany Blot knocks Matt and both roll to the edge of the trolley's roof. Both Matt and the Meany Blot then rolled off the edge.

The Pretty Cures gasped.

"Matthew!" Cure White cried.

"Matt!" Cure Berry cried too.

But Matt quickly recovers and grabs a metal pole with his right hand. The Meany Blot recovers too and hangs onto one of the windows' frames. Both held on tightly to the trolley. As Matt looked down, he saw the mountain's base, about a two-mile drop. Matt widens his eyes and tries to get back onto the trolley's roof.

A foot away from Matt Oda, the Meany Blot sees the gentleman trying to get back onto the trolley. The black goon tries reaching Matt's foot to prevent him from returning to the Pretty Cures.

Conductor Stone keeps his eyes on the tracks ahead in the control room. He then spots something in the corner of his eye and sees a rearview mirror. In the mirror is Matt Oda, hanging onto his dear life. Stone flinches, sticks his head out the window, and sees Matt Oda.

"Matt!" Stone shouted.

A few Pretty Cures appeared on the edge of the roof's trolley and saw Matt hanging onto the edge. Cures Bloom and Sunshine held Matt's hand, holding the metal bar. Cure Fortune extends her arm and hand to reach Matt's other hand.

"Matthew!" Fortune screamed, "Reach my hand!"

Matt heard Fortune and tried to grab her hand using his other hand. But he misses Fortune's hand within a few inches and is slowly losing his grip on the metal bar. Bloom and Sunshine held tightly on Matt's gripping hand, ensuring he won't let go. The Meany Blot keeps trying and insisting on grabbing Matt Oda, but it misses Matt's foot.

"I-I'm slipping!" Matt yelled.

"Hold on!" Sunshine shouted.

The conductor, in great concern, keeps watching Matt trying to recover from the fall. "C'mon, sir," Stone says, "you can do it!"

"Stone!" Engineer Boulder yelled at his partner.

The conductor heard his engineer pal and faced him. Boulder kept his eyes on the tracks up ahead, so Stone looked up at where Boulder was looking. The conductor gasped. Up ahead, within a quarter of a mile, is a narrow tunnel just fitting enough for the trolley and the Blot train to go through it. Conductor Stone panicked, for he looked back at the hanging Matt Oda.

"Matt Oda!" Stone called, grabbing the gentleman's attention. "You got to get back onto the trolley now! There's a tunnel ahead!"

"A what?" Cure Marine asked.

She, along with Cure Blossom, on the roof, looked up ahead of the tracks. And coming towards the trolley is a tunnel getting closer every second. A warning sign displays on the tunnel's entrance, saying: Warning! Narrow Tunnel. Blossom and Marine flinched in fright.

"Matthew!" Blossom cried, "You got to hurry! The tunnel's coming up!"

When Matt and Cures Bloom, Sunshine, and Fortune heard about the tunnel, they all looked ahead and saw the approaching tunnel. They all turn shocked.

"Matt!" Fortune yelled, "You go to hurry! Grab my hand!"

Matt tries again to reach Fortune, but he misses again.

"I can't!" Matt cried.

The other Pretty Cures watched in fear to see their gentleman friend in peril.

"He's not going to make it!" Cure Peace cried.

"Oh yes, he will!" Cure Ace corrected. She quickly turns to Cure Moonlight, and the moonflower Pretty Cure notices. "Moonlight!" Cure Moonlight nods in return.

With quick haste, Ace and Moonlight went back into the trolley and headed to a window. As the two arrive at the window, Ace unlocks the latch and opens the bottom half. Ace and Moonlight stick out the window, and both see Matt's legs dangling. Moonlight and Ace grabbed both of Matt's legs. Matt felt it and turned around to see the Cures holding onto him.

"We got you, Matt!" Moonlight shouted.

"Moonlight! Ace!" Matt shouted.

Holding onto its life, the Meany Blot notices and tries to stop the Cures. But Moonlight noticed and knocked the Blot back.

Ace then says, "Matthew! You got to let go!"

"What!?" Matt shouted in surprise.

"Let go, Matt!" Moonlight yelled, "We'll catch ya!"

"You crazy!? I'm gonna fall!"

"No, you won't!" Ace shouted back at Matt. "We'll pull you in! You just have to let go!"

"I can't do that! I-I'm gonna…"

"Matthew Oda!" Stone yelled from inside the control room, "HURRY!"

Matt and the Cures heard Stone and looked up ahead of the tracks. They see the tunnel now getting closer within a hundred yards. The frame of the rocky tunnel is approaching as they speak.

Matt panics, but…

"You can do it, Matt!" Fortune shouted to him. "Just let go!"

"Trust us!" Cure Bloom screamed.

"You can do it!" Sunshine cheered.

Matt Oda breathes heavily, not ensuring himself if he has the guts.

"Matthew!" Ace screams, "Let go! NOW!"

Matt looks at the oncoming tunnel frame again, then returns to Ace and Moonlight. He takes a big breath, and then…

Slip!

Matt Oda ungrasped from the metal bar and screamed at the top of his lungs. Bloom and Sunshine release Matt's hand. Immediately, Ace and Moonlight pulled Matt Oda back into the trolley with all their strength swiftly. Matt Oda's upper body dangles outside of the trolley.

Within a few yards, the Pretty Cures saw the tunnel approaching and quickly reacted.

"Duck!" Cure Rouge yelled.

In a split-second, the Pretty Cures dropped to the trolley's roof and avoided the low overhead clearance tunnel.

Ace, Moonlight, and a few fairies lending a paw pulled Matt Oda back into the trolley. In another split-second, Matt Oda got his head inside and missed the tunnel's rocky frame by a hair.

At the same time, the Meany Blot missed Matt Oda for the last time. But when it sees the tunnel's frame approaching, the Blot screams and…

SPLAT!

The Meany Blot crashed into the tunnel frame's wall and was turned into a smear of black goop.

In the next ten seconds, the trolley and the train went through the tunnel and exited onto the steep opening mountains. The Pretty Cures on the trolley's roof stood up and regained their battling positions.

Back inside the trolley, Matt Oda, Cures Ace and Moonlight, and the fairies breathed deeply after surviving Matt's close shave. Conductor Stone appeared as he was in a great state of anxiety.

"Good Gracious!" Stone said in shock, "Matt, you okay!?"

Matt kept breathing, but he replied, "Yeah… barely…"

"That was really close-ropu," Syrup said in great anxiety.

"You really are a lucky gentleman," Tarte commented as he made a sweat drop.

Ace and Moonlight then hug Matt for comfort, showing concern for the gentleman. A few more Cures appear and see Matt being embraced by Moonlight and Ace.

"Matt! Matt!" Milky Rose said in great worry, "You alright?"

Cure Aqua catches her breath and touches her beating heart. She says, "Oh, thank goodness."

"I thought he lost a hand or something else," Cure Princess said, feeling slightly scared. "What a relief…"

Everyone in the trolly is grateful that Matt survived a deadly fate. Conductor Stone takes a big breath of relief. He straightens his hat and speaks.

"I'm glad everybody is still standing here," the conductor says. But then he turns firm. "But we got bigger fish to fry."

Proving his point, the conductor shows the Pretty Cure team of the Blot train chasing and coming toward the trolley. The Pretty Cure team turned firm and got back on their feet.

Back on the Blot train, the head Blot engineer turned furious and ordered his crew to put more coal in the iron horse. Installing the coal in the train's boiler increases the steam and speed of the train. With its speed picking up, the Blot train moves faster and closer to the trolley.

The Pretty Cure team and the two trolley men observed.

Engineer Boulder sees the Blot train via one of his rearview mirrors. "Sir," he says, "The Blots are gaining us."

"They're trying to run us over," Conductor Stone stated. "Quick! Pick up the speed!"

"Yes, sir!" Boulder did what Stone said, and the engineer pushed a level, increasing the trolley's speed.

Both the trolley and the Blot train are going at high speed, but the train has more maximum speed than the trolley. So every second, the train gets closer to the trolley. The Pretty Cure team witnessed this situation.

"This is not good," Cure Mint says. "The Blot train is gaining on us!"

"Can't you go any faster-nya!?" Hummy shouts to the trolley men.

"This is all we got!" Conductor Stone shouted back. "I'm afraid we're not going to outrun them."

The heroes heard Stone and turned in great concern.

The Blot train gets closer to the trolley, and its cowcatcher, the train's guard and tip, bumps into the trolley. The trolley shook from the impact, and everyone on board felt the bumpy impact. The head Blot leader grins with an evil look, knowing they will conquer the Pretty Cure team. The magical heroes and their friends regained their balance.

"What are we going to do!?" Cure Happy panicked.

"There has to be some way to escape-desu wa!" Ribbon panicked.

As everyone tries to think of an idea to escape…

"OH NO!" Boulder screamed.

Everyone hears the engineer, and Conductor Stone arrives in the control room with Boulder.

"What's wrong?" Stone asked.

"Look!"

Stone looked up ahead of the tracks, and he gasped once again.

From half a mile, there is a cliff where the tracks turn sharp around the mountain's corner. There are a couple signs up ahead as both say: Slow Down. Sharp Turn.

"Great balls of granites," Stone said in shock. Stone then heads back to the Pretty Cure team about the situation. "Pretty Cures! We got a problem." The team heard Stone. "There's a sharp turn up ahead right near an edge of a cliff. We must slow down to make the turn. Otherwise, the sharp turn will tip the trolley over, and we'll fall off the mountain's edge!"

However, Cure Aqua interrupts and says, "But if we slow down, the Blots and their train will run over us. We can't let that happen."

"But what are we going to do!?" Cure Rhythm said in great concern. "There are no other options, and we're running out of time."

The Pretty Cure team panics and tries to think of a way to avoid the Blot train and falling off the cliff. Then Cure Diamond sees the hooks that are still attached to the trolley. She then turns to Cures Aqua and Lemonade. Thoughts clouded Diamond's mind until…

"I've got it!" Diamond shouted and alerting everyone, including the conductor and engineer. "I have an idea. It's going to sound crazy, but it will guarantee work."

"Tell us, then!" Sword shouts. "Our lives are at stake."

"Listen up!" Diamond then explains every simple detail of the plan.

The Blot train gains its speed again, trying to run over the trolley. The Blot engineer makes an evil smirk.

Suddenly, Cures Melody, Beauty, Beat, Passion, Rouge, and Fortune appeared from the trolley and headed for the still attached hooks. The Blot engineer observes the six Pretty Cures removing the hooks. Then the six feminine warriors jumped, flew, and carried the hooks from the trolley and headed to a little cliffside on the mountain. They pierce the hooks onto the mountain platform using magical Pretty Cure powers. Once the hooks were in a place and fully sturdy, the six warriors turned back at the trolley and waved.

In the trolley, Cure Egret sees the six Cures on the mountain waving. She then turns to the rest of the heroes. "They're in position!" Egret stated.

Everyone heard Egret. Cures Lemonade and Aqua nod back in response. Lemonade summoned her Prism Chain and attached it to Aqua's Sapphire Arrow. The Cure of Intelligence aims at the six Pretty Cures on the mountain. Aqua then shoots her arrow as it flies towards the six Cures along with Lemonade's Prism Chain.

Aqua's arrow landed near the six Pretty Cures. Aqua's Sapphire Arrow disappears, and the warriors quickly grab the chain. They guided Lemonade's chain through all three hooks' eyes.

"Beauty!" Melody shouts to get her attention.

Beauty hears, and Melody tosses the chain to the ice element Pretty Cure. Beauty catches the chain and attaches it to her Beauty Blizzard Arrow. Beauty then aims at the speeding trolley and shoots her arrow back at the trolley.

Beauty's Blizzard Arrow flies back at the trolley as it enters inside it via a window. Once the arrow hit the floor, the rest of the team grabbed the chain before the arrow disappeared. Everyone wrapped Lemonade's chain over on the trolley's window frames and bars tightly. Some then held tightly to the chain.

"We're all set!" Cure Muse stated.

The conductor heard Muse from the control room, and he nodded in response.

"Sir!" Boulder yelled.

Stone turned around and looked at the trolley's tracks. In both the conductor's and engineer's view, the trolley's nearing the sharp turn of the tracks. Stone quickly turned around back to the Pretty Cure team and shouted.

"EVERYBODY! HOLD ON!" Conductor Stone screamed.

The Pretty Cure team inside the trolley braced themselves and held tightly to Lemonade's Prism Chain. Hummy and her Fairy Tones appear at a trolley's window. Hummy waves her paws, and all the Fairy Tones sounded and mimicked a whistling sound to the Cures on the mountain. That cue told the Pretty Cures on the mountain to grab the Prism Chain and hold it tightly.

Stone and Boulder kept watching the trolley's railroads as they were now within inches of the sharp turn. Then…

SCRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECCH!

After the trolley made the sharp turn, the whole vehicle tilted to the side due to the inertia of direction. However, the Pretty Cure team was aware of this situation. With Lemonade's Prism Chain tied to the trolley and the hooks attached to the mountain, the team held tightly to the chain to support and balance the tilting trolley. Everyone inside the trolley held their balance and tried to prevent themselves from falling.

But the trolley slowly keeps tilting, getting closer to the mountain ground. The gang in the trolley noticed and panicked.

"We're going to hit the ground!" Engineer Boulder yelled to everybody.

"Not yet!" Cure Egret shouted back. "Bloom!"

"Right!" Bloom responded.

Cures Bloom and Egret arrived at a window in the center of the trolley. Quickly, the duo Cures clasped their hands together and…

"Twin Stream Splash!"

The two Cures summoned and launched their watery attack toward the ground. Creating pushing power, the two Cures prevented the trolley from tilting anymore. The trolley slowly started to rebalance to its proper position.

Everyone struggled and used all their might to prevent the trolley from falling and derailing. Within the next few seconds, the trolley slowly regained its upright position. The trolley is back on the tracks, and everybody on board felt the impact of the rebalancing trolley. The Pretty Cures on the mountains witnessed and were relieved the trolley made the sharp turn and prevented from derailing. Quickly, the Cures on the mountain jumped and landed right back on the trolley's roof. Lemonade, Bloom, and Egret immediately cancel their magical powers, knowing the trolley successfully made the sharp turn.

"We made it!" Cure Princess cheered.

The whole team roared in success. Both Conductor Stone and Engineer Boulder took a big breath in relief.

On the Blot train, the Meany Engineer Blot witnessed the Pretty Cure team and the trolley's sharp turn escape. But when the Blot engineer looks back at the tracks and sees the sharp turn and warning signs, the black goon panics. He yelled at his cohorts to stop the train. The rest of the Blots heard and looked at the tracks. They all jolted in shock. A Blot pulls the brakes to stop the train's iron wheels from spinning. But due to the steam's set high pressure and high speed, the train keeps skidding and sliding along the railroads. With insufficient time to slow down, all the Blots on the train screamed in fear.

The Blot train then arrived at the corner of the sharp turn, but due to its size and speed, the train jumped off the tracks and headed straight for the edge of the mountain's cliff. All the Blots fell from the shaking of the train's derailment. But it was too late when they looked up and saw the cliff approaching within inches.

The Pretty Cure team and the two train workers watched the Blot train from afar. They all see the train skid off from the mountain's cliff and plummet straight down to the base of the mountains. Then, the train disappeared into the mountain clouds. There is a moment of silence…

KAABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

A fiery explosion occurred, creating a massive and powerful shockwave. The Pretty Cure team and the two trolley men covered themselves from the explosion's shockwave as it made a little quake. After a few more seconds of covering for protection, everyone looked up and observed the fiery explosion blazing into the atmosphere. Everyone took a big breath in relief.

"Wow…" Cure Beat said with exhaustion, "That was close…"

"I can't believe we all survived," Cure March stated, feeling fatigued. "That was frightening."

"And I thought the rapids and waterfall back in Orange Canyon was the only dangerous trip we had," Cure Black stated while feeling tired.

"Hey," Matt speaks, "just be glad your life wasn't spared by a hair from a near-death experience."

"Matthew…" Milky Rose says with concern, "you're just very lucky you survived. I don't know what we would do without you."

"Yeah," Glassan says, "Another second with your head out on the window and… (Gulp!) …da…ze…"

"Please tell me that there is something good and calm out of this mess?" Tint asks while feeling relieved.

"Oh, it's more than good," the conductor replies and appears with the Pretty Cure team, "it's better."

The Pretty Cure heard Stone and turned to him. "Better?" Rosetta asks, "Why is that?"

"Get this. We're about to reach Crayon Point."

The Pretty Cure team heard Stone's statement and turned surprised. Everyone then looked out the window and looked up ahead. The team smiled to see what was in their view.

At a fair distance, the team sees the town Crayon Point resting on top of a small plateau next to a mountain. The team smiles to see they will soon arrive at Crayon Point.

"I can't believe it," Black said with a smile. "We made it!"

Cure Fortune says, "All that speeding and chasing saved us so much time to get to Crayon Point fast."

Conductor Stone finally says, "It won't be long now. We'll be arriving at Crayon Point very soon."

The trolley keeps moving forward as it gets closer to Crayon Point every second.
