Chapter 9: Girls' Day Out

Inuyasha was woken up by a phone call, he cracked his eyes open to look at the clock - it was one AM. He picked his phone up, realizing it was Shippo he quickly pressed the green answering button. "What's going on Shippo?" He whispered while looking down at the still sleeping face of Kagome snoozing away on his chest, he brought his free hand up from her hip to run his claws through her hair, cracking a half smile when Kagome sighed as she cuddled closer to him.

"I have the double crossers in our custody." Shippo said.

Inuyasha sighed as he continued to look at Kagome, not wanting to leave her but knowing he had to - he needed to get to the bottom of this before it got even more out of hand. "Okay, I'll be there in ten." He said before hanging up the call. He slowly maneuvered himself so he wouldn't wake the sleeping woman up, he smiled even wider as she grumbled in her sleep before turning over to bury her head in his pillow and pull it closer to her. She was making it incredibly difficult for him to turn his back away from her, but he managed to do so as he walked into his closet and get dressed in a wife beater, sweatpants and black shoes. He walked back to the bed and kissed her on the temple and quickly wrote a note before reluctantly leaving the room and walked to Sango and Miroku's room.

"Get your asses up we have to go!" Inuyasha yelled through the door, grumpy that he had to leave his nice warm bed with the sleeping beauty still curled up on his bed. He walked into the living area to wait for Miroku and Sango to get dressed so they could leave.

Several minutes later, Sango and Miroku walked out both dressed similar to what Inuyasha wore.

"What's going on, Sha?" Miroku asked sleepily as he stretched with a yawn as he walked into the living area while Sango rubbed the sleep from her eyes.

"Shippo got the traitors at the warehouse, we have to go rough them up a bit to get the answers that I need." Inuyasha answered before walking toward the front door and walking out towards his car with the other two following.

Arriving at the warehouse shortly after, Inuyasha, Miroku and Sango all entered the building to see three men tied to chairs located at the center of the room with Shippo standing close by to make sure they didn't try to escape.

"Let me the fuck go, asshole!" A man with short brown hair shouted at Shippo not realizing that Inuyasha had entered the warehouse as he struggled against the rope that was holding him captive, however, Shippo was a master knotter - once he had someone bond, there was no getting out of it unless it was him setting you free. Something to do with his fox magic or some shit like that, Inuyasha didn't know how the kid did it and he really didn't care as long as it did its job.

"No can do." Shippo said as he leaned against a table as he played a game on his phone with a sucker hanging out of his mouth. Shippo was hardly ever seen without some type of sweet in his mouth, it was like his trademark.

"I swear kid," the man said as he continued to struggle, "once I get out of these bonds, you will rue the day you ever crossed my path! I have people in low places that would just love to eat a kid like you alive."

"Yeah!" A man that had purple spiked up hair and a few face piercings said as, he too, struggled against the ropes holding him down. "You're dead meat you son of a bitch!"

The third person that was tied up was a female and she looked too scared to even utter an insult or struggle against her bonds. Good, let her be scared, if she was in on the double-crossing then she'd have a lot more coming to her if she doesn't say who's calling the shots in their operation.

The man stopped struggling, however, as he felt the cool metal of Inuyasha's gun pressing against his temple. "The only one who's dead meat around here is you." Inuyasha said as he cocked his gun.

"Ph-Phantom, p-please let me go, I-I haven't done anything wrong!" The man said as sweat started pouring down his face.

"Which one got the phone call?" Inuyasha asked Shippo.

"Kai." Shippo responded, taking the sucker out of his mouth to talk as he pushed himself off the table, put his phone in his pocket and pointed a finger at the brown-haired man before putting his sucker back in his mouth.

Inuyasha moved the gun off the purple spiked hair guy's temple, moving it to Kai's temple making him visibly shake.

"Who were you talking to on the phone last night." Inuyasha asked as he jabbed his gun into Kai's temple making him wince.

"Your fucking momma!" Kai spat bravely even though he was shaking so bad Inuyasha was afraid the ropes would vibrate off him regardless of Shippo's fox magic.

Inuyasha took the butt of his gun and whacked Kai on the side of the face causing him to bite and split his lip open. "Who the fuck are you talking too!?" Inuyasha growled as he got in Kai's face while pushing the gun in his jawbone.

Kai spit his mouthful of blood in Inuyasha's face and laughed. "You'll have to kill me because I ain't no snitch, bitch!" He said as he laughed some more.

Inuyasha turned around before wiping the blood off his face before swinging his body back around, aimed the gun and shot Kai in his head.

"Shit, man!" The other man shouted as he turned away from the blood splatter while the female cried out in fright.

"You said that one of them was trying to get the other two to remain loyal to me, which one was it?" Inuyasha asked as he wiped his gun and hand of blood that landed on him.

"Aimi." Shippo replied as he took the sucker out of his mouth and pointed at the frightened girl.

Inuyasha sighed as he put his gun away and he knelt down to be eye level with Aimi. "Who is it Aimi?" He asked with a smooth quiet voice.

Aimi met Inuyasha's eyes with her own wide, frightened grey eyes. "I-I don't know, there were two people that Kai would talk to over the phone, one named Kio and the other he never said his name. P-please d-don't hurt me." She said as tears began to leak past her eyelashes.

Inuyasha shot back up, standing straight as he turned around and flipped a table over in frustration yelling 'damn it' as his merchandise littered the floor.

Shippo moving out of the way just in the nick of time, just barely missing getting thrown with the table as he was sitting on it. Inuyasha took his gun back out before pointing it at the spiked haired dudes face and cocked the gun. "Who the fuck is it!?" He roared extremely frustrated that he wasn't getting any answers.

"Couldn't tell ya, my dude." He said smugly.

Inuyasha moved the gun down from his face to the man's foot before firing a bullet through his foot.

"Ah!" The man screamed in pain. "What the fuck man!?" He cried out then caught eyes with Sango and Miroku standing a few feet away from them with hard expressions on their faces to cause more intimidation as they watched Inuyasha handle business. "Hey, can one of you take the gun from psycho over here?"

Having Sango and Miroku stand back as added pressure, as well as added back up if something were to go awry, on the person they were trying to intimidate worked wonders eight out of ten times. However, sometimes they got asshats like these fuckers that liked to remain tight lipped, so more drastic measures were needed.

"Who the fuck is trying to overthrow the bosses?" Inuyasha growled as he pointed the gun back at the man's face regaining the man's attention.

"Suck my mother fucking dick, pussy!" The man said before screaming in pain once again as Inuyasha shot out one of his kneecaps. "Shit, stop! Fuck!"

"Tell me!" Inuyasha roared as he aimed the gun at the man's dick before cocking the gun.

"I don't fucking know, man!" The man said as his body heaved in breaths of pain. "Like Aimi said, Kai never mentioned his fucking name, only Kio's! I have no idea the main guy's name, fuck!" He said as threw his head back trying to breathe through the pain.

"What do you want me to do with them, Boss?" Shippo asked as he walked to stand next to him.

"You said that Aimi was the only one willing to stay loyal to me?" Inuyasha asked.

"Yes, that's right." Shippo said with a nod.

Inuyasha fired one more shot, hitting the man right between the eyes effectively ending his life causing Aimi to scream, horrified that two people were just murdered in front of her. "Let her go." He ordered Shippo. "Aimi, word of advice, you have either one of three choices; one: either stay on my side like you have been, two: if you don't and choose to betray me, you'll end up like your friends here or three: get out of this lifestyle all together - go live a normal life away of danger."

"O-okay." Aimi muttered as Shippo undid the ropes that tied her down. "I-I don't want to be a part of this shit anymore." She admitted as tears ran down her face.

Inuyasha nodded but didn't say anything as Aimi ran out of the building.

Sango started cleaning up as Inuyasha took the men's bodies out back to burn them, he and Miroku both stood around the fire in silence as they watched the flames lick the air around them. A few hours later, the warehouse was clean of any blood and Sango joined the men outside as the last of the men burnt away. Once the flames were out, they gathered up the bones and buried them in a little hole, out of sight out of mind. They then left to go back home; the sun had already risen by the time they were pulling out of the driveway of the warehouse.

Kagome woke up with a stretch before realizing she was in bed alone. Before she could wonder to much of where Inuyasha was, she saw a folded-up piece of paper lying where Inuyasha's sleeping head should have been. She reached over, grabbed the paper before unfolding it.

'Shippo called, I had to go take care of the double crossers.
Be back soon, baby girl.'

Kagome sighed as she crawled out of bed and went to use the restroom and take a shower before getting dressed in one of Inuyasha's shirts and some of her shorts. She then made her way to the kitchen to fix herself some breakfast.

Once she was done eating breakfast, however, she instantly felt nauseous and had to run to the bathroom to throw up what she had just eaten. 'That's weird.' She thought as she flushed the toilet before walking to the sink to brush her teeth. 'Maybe I'm getting sick.' She had been feeling a little extra tired since yesterday, however, brushed the feeling off as she wandered outside and saw that the parts for her car were delivered. Squealing in delight and doing a little happy dance she turned around to run back to Inuyasha's room before changing into one of his stained-up wife beaters before running back outside to get started working on her car with a smile on her face as she threw her hair up into a messy bun that sat on the top of her head.

While she was in the middle of working on her car, Inuyasha and the others pulled up in the driveway, stopping right beside Kagome's car.

"The parts came in?" Inuyasha asked as he stepped out the car and walked to stand next to her. She looked absolutely stunning with her face, arms, and her bare legs were covered in grease as well as his already stained wifebeater. He didn't think there would ever be a time he didn't find her absolutely gorgeous.

"Yes, they did." Kagome said as she sent Inuyasha a bright smile before getting back to work on her car.

"Hey, I wanted to ask you a question." Inuyasha spoke as he gently took one of Kagome's hands and turned her to face him.

"What's up?" Kagome asked as she tilted her head to the side with a questioning look on her face.

"The hospital is throwing a 'thank you' party for me. I donated a large sum of money to them a few days before we met, and they want to thank me by giving me an award. I was wondering if you'd be my date to the party?" Inuyasha asked as he kissed her knuckles of the hand that he held, not caring that it was covered in grease.

"Yes, I would love to go with you Inuyasha." Kagome replied as a large smile lit her face, though it quickly dimmed. "But I don't have anything to wear to a party."

"That's okay." Sango said as she stepped closer to the pair. "I have to go shopping for the party anyway, we can make it a girls' day out kinda thing - we need to have some 'one on one girl time' anyway." She said with a smile as she grabbed Kagome's hand and drug her inside so she could push Kagome into the bathroom to take a shower and get ready to go have some girl time fun.

Inuyasha and Miroku chuckled at Sango's antics. It was nice that she had a girlfriend, she was always around men and never really got to have any friends that were girls. They were happy for her that she finally had Kagome to be her friend and have girl days with.

Moments later Sango came running back out with Kagome in tow, dressed in one of her own shirts and a pair of hip hugger jeans, and ran towards Sango's car. However, as they passed the boys Inuyasha reached out and grabbed the crook of Kagome's elbow, effectively stealing her away from Sango so he could wrap his arms around her waist and give her a deep kiss.

Sango walked toward Miroku, who had a faux look of sadness on his face that she didn't think to give him a kiss before she left, she gave him a small smile of apology as she gave him a kiss. She knew he wasn't really sad or mad at her, she knew he knew she was just super excited about having another girl in the house, she's talked about it for days now while they were alone. She just needed a reason to initiate the first girls' day out, she knew the rest would come naturally and without reason.

After saying goodbye to their men, Sango and Kagome got in the car and left.

"Oh my gosh!" Sango gushed as she drove down the road. "I've never had a girls' day out before; I don't even know what to do really. Why am I feeling nervous?"

"Um," Kagome muttered as she thought feeling a little nervous herself, "I've never really had any friends either. Kio kept me from ever making any - but I did watch movies. They usually go get their nails and hair done, go to the spa, go shopping and go get something to eat."

"Okay." Sango said as she made a left hand turn to go to the top-dollar salon. "Sounds good to me."

As they were walking in the salon/spa, they looked around taking in all the store had to offer. They decided to do the full body works, hair, nails, mud bath, deep tissue massage and tanning.

They did the mud bath first as they soaked in the mud with cucumber slices on their eyes. "Um, Sango?" Kagome whispered as she took the cucumbers off her eyes.

"Yeah? What's up?" Sango asked.

"Um, am I doing things, okay?" Kagome asked feeling very unsure of herself. "Should there be something I need to do that I'm not, or something I need to stop that I am doing?"

Sango sat up straighter in her mud bath as she took her cucumber slices off her eyes as well so she could look toward Kagome. "Kagome, whatever you're doing, keep doing it. I have never seen Phantom so happy, since you've came around, he just has a certain hop to his step, and he can hardly keep the smile off his face." She said using the name Phantom since they were in a public place, she didn't want anyone overhearing Inuyasha's true name.

"R-really?" Kagome asked as she bit her lip.

"Really." Sango nodded as she laid back into the mud putting the cucumber slices back on her eyes.

"When is the party?" Kagome asked with a small smile on her face as she too put the cucumbers back on her eyes.

"Tomorrow night." Sango replied.

"Um, can I ask you something?" Kagome asked in a small voice. "You don't have to answer if you don't want to."

"Give it to me." Sango said.

"Why did you leave with Phantom when he got kicked out of your parent's house?"

"When Phantom's mom and dad adopted me, Phantom and I just clicked - we were the best of friends and did everything together. So, when the day came that they decided to throw him out, it didn't seem right to remain in that house when my best friend was no longer there, so I left with him." Sango answered.

"Did you ever have feelings for him?" Kagome asked, seriously hoping that she didn't offend her.

"No, not at all. Phantom is my brother and nothing more." Sango answered taking no offense in the question.

They sat and talked about little things, learning more about each other and strengthening their friendship. They had their nails done, they both picked a short French tip nail style, they had their hair done - just an inch off, nothing to crazy, then went for a deep tissue massage where they didn't talk at all - they were in too much bliss to speak.

Once their deep tissue massages were done, they left to go get their shopping on - there they did a little more talking about little things here and there. Sango settled on a dress with very little sequins, had off the shoulder straps, was formfitting until it got to her waist which then flowed to her knees. Kagome picked a red dress that had no sequins on it, had one strap that tied - the strap was extra-long that flowed down to her elbow, the strap itself that went around her shoulder had white gems on it until it went to the where it tied which was a see-through red material. the dress was formfitting, and like Sango's, it flowed to reach her ankles and had a slit going up to her upper thigh.

"Phantom is not going to be able to keep his hands off you all night in that dress." Sango snickered making Kagome blush.

"Oh, well, maybe I should pick something else." Kagome said as she looked down at her dress.

"Absolutely not!" Sango said as she shook her head and grabbed Kagome's hand to go back in the dressing rooms to change back into their clothes. "You're getting that dress; your boobs look phenomenal in it!" She said making Kagome blush even harder.

Once their dresses were paid for, the price making Kagome's eyes bulge from her sockets and practically begged Sango to let her pick a cheaper dress, to which Sango paid absolutely no mind too and left the store with Kagome in tow. They went to a jewelry store to pick out a set that went with their dresses, and once that was done - with more complaining about the price from Kagome - they went to get shoes. Kagome had another mini heart attack from the prices of the shoes but didn't say anything because she knew Sango would just brush her off anyway. Once everything was gotten for the thank you party, they went to get some food.

As they sat and ate their food Sango sighed, she had been wanting to have a serious talk with Kagome all day now but didn't know how to bring it up. In truth she was kind of scared of the answers she might receive, however, she needed to know what Kagome thought about everything. "So, Kagome," she said as she stuck a French fry in her mouth, "what do you think about what we do for a living? How do you feel about it?"

Kagome took a sip of her Pepsi. "Honestly, I don't have any aversions to it, in all reality I was close to going into the same lifestyle." She said as she took a bite of her double cheeseburger.

"What made you want to make that kind of decision?" Sango asked as she ate another fry.

Kagome shrugged her shoulders and took a deep sigh. "I wasn't having any luck in getting any jobs and I needed to pay the bills and take care of Hiro, I was losing hope in getting a legit job, so my only option was to become a dealer, or a sex worker and I didn't want to be a sex worker, so I was leaning toward the dealer job. However, right before I was about to find out how to become one, I got a call saying that I got a very well-paying job, so I took the job." She said with another sigh. "Looking back on it now, I wish that I just went ahead and just did the dealer job." She said then blushed some as she bit her lip. "And besides, I kinda liked seeing Phantom in action, it turned me on." She said then busied herself in gulping down drinks of her soda.

Sango giggled. "It sure is a thrill, Miroku and I have some of the best sex after doing a job like that." She admitted he took a drink of her soda. "How do you feel about my brother? If you're here only for his money, then I think you should leave. He's been through enough shit with other gold diggers that's broken his heart."

Kagome didn't take offense to Sango's words; however, they did break her heart knowing how many times Inuyasha had been used. "Sango," she said as she reached across the table to grab Sango's hand to try to get her words across to her better, "I have never had a stronger connection with someone in my whole life, it's like I was made for him, and he was made for me. I could never think about using him for his money or anything like that, ever." She took her hand back and looked down with a blush on her face. "I think I might even love him." She whispered; her heart felt like it was going to beat right out of her ribcage with how hard it was beating.

Sango gasped at hearing the absolute sincerity in Kagome's voice that she squealed before jumping up, grabbing Kagome's hand before jerking her out of her chair, then wrapped her arms around Kagome before jumping in absolute glee. "I've always wanted a sister!" She said as she let go of Kagome only to grip her shoulders and hold her at arm's length away from herself. "Have you told Phantom how you felt?"

Kagome bit her lip as she looked toward the ground. "What if he doesn't feel the same about me?" She whispered as she felt tears gather in her eyes, she was afraid to really open herself up in that way to anyone else ever since Kio did what he did.

Sango gently grabbed Kagome's chin as she turned her face to make her look back at her. "You have absolutely nothing to worry about, I can tell you that man is head over heels for you."

"Really?" Kagome whispered as a tear escaped passed her eyelashes.

Sango wiped Kagome's tears away as she smiled a small smile. "Really. You need to tell him how you feel, I promise you he won't disappoint you like your shitty ex did."

They hugged each other again before sitting down to finish their meal in silence.

Once they finished, they left the restaurant and went back home, both happy that they finally had a friend to do girly stuff with.

On the way back home, however, Sango stopped at a gas station to get gas as well as use the restroom. As Sango was in the restroom Kagome wandered down the aisles looking for something to snack on. She walked down another aisle and came face to face with a pregnancy test which made a thought popped into her mind. 'Could I be pregnant?' She thought as she reached her hand up to run a finger along the packaging of the test. 'No, there's no possible way for me to be pregnant. It's way too soon, isn't it?' She had heard of some demon pregnancies not lasting nine months; however, she didn't know if Inuyasha was one of those demons. And he was a half-demon, did that make a difference? She didn't know but hurried and grabbed the test along with some random snacks and paid for the items before Sango came out of the bathroom.
